I read about Beth's death in the newspaper and I have to admit to being absolutely devastated.

As my step-mother, Beth was one of the few people who really gave Kane and I a chance. She was always the voice of reason between us and my Dad. From the moment our families were merged she treated me an extension of her own children and she had time for Kane too which I'll never be able to thank her enough for.

Beth was one of the kindest, most generous, loving people I ever knew. She was always there in a crisis with a hug and a calm word, she was sensible and honest, easy to talk to and a good listener. I'm going to miss her so much but I'll always be thankful for having known her.

She was great during all my pregnancy stuff and although he'll never meet her, my son will be told all about his step-grandmother Beth and how wonderful she was.

Thank you for everything Beth, I'll never forget you.
