Jack

We met Beth the day we moved to Summer Bay. She saw our Car pull up and probably figured Dad couldn’t cook (she was right, he cant), as that evening she brought us in some dinner. Our plan had been to have some Nachos and Dips in front of the Footie on TV. We had done that almost every day of our lives.

The reason I remember this is because when my Dad Tony Holden met Beth Hunter he was fascinated by her. It was the first time he was fascinated by anything since mine and my brother Lucas's Mother Kate died. Dad was happy again, and that made us happy. We enjoyed seeing Beth everyday and our relationship grew stronger and stronger over a period of two years.

Beth Hunter served to the Community, And she was a much loved resident. But Beth also served as our Mother. We never really got over Mum, but Beth helped us. She acted like she was our mum, but in a way that we knew she wasn’t trying to replace her.

Because the truth is, no one could ever replace her. But if someone could, we feel honoured that it was someone as special, loving, kind and gentle as Beth. She was our Family. And she still is.
