I Don't
So, you've got engaged, you've survived the various time in between, which can range for a six months to almost spur of the moment weddings, the buck and hen parties have went by with the usual hijinks and the big day has arrived what can go wrong. Surely you'd know if your husband-to-be was after the town bike? Crazy stalkers are unlikely to abduct you? That Child must be yours? Well, the answer is no if you live in Summer Bay as there is bound to be some hitch on the big day.
First to make it down the aisle and not go through with it were Roo and Frank away back in 1988. Roo was pregnant and Frank believed the child to be his. Morag told Roo that she needed to tell Frank that the child wasn't his, but during their vows, the pressure all became too much for Roo and she ran out the church. It was all too much for Frank and he raced off in "wedding present" and crashed down an embankment.
Despite a few weddings in between almost being called off at the last minute the next wedding that failed in similarily spectacular fashion was Steven Matheson and Selina Roberts. Selina and Steven had had a forbidden teacher/pupil relationship in 1996, forcing Steven to leave both his job and Summer Bay. The following year he came back to Summer Bay for one reason. No, not to wave goodbye to Shannon, for Selina. After a struggle he finally mentioned to wrestle her off Jesse and soon after a date was set. However Saul managed to get in the way, kidnapping Selina on her wedding and leading to hunt to find her. Selina and Steven are back together as of 2005.
Jesse, as you can probably guess was never particularly lucky in love. For a while Selina and Chloe fought over him, but soon she wasn't interested and well Jesse decided to marry Kylie, Rachel's mother. On the day of the wedding, Kylie was arrested during the ceremony and later died in jail. Jesse got to another cliff-top wedding in 2005, but then Josie's bridesmain, Tasha, was unable to live with the truth any longer and it was revealed what had happened between Josie and Marc Edwards during the past few months. The fallout from this non-wedding led to Jesse going down a downward spiral which eventually led to him causing the death of old flame Chloe.
And this leaves us with Sally Fletcher who has called it off at the last minute twice. The first occasion was in 2000 when she fell for Kieran Fletcher in Ireland and they were due to get married in front of all the old favourites like Carly and Floss. Unfortunately Kieran had been chasing after Gypsy from the moment he had landed in Summer Bay and Gypsy finally spilt all during the wedding. You can watch the full episode of Sally and Kieran's nearly wedding here.
