Now things are beginning to hot up. If you're lucky your ice cream might even melt. Here we reach the people that have 5 and 6 points. Having 6 points means it's a mathematical certainty that two people liked you, maybe even six. At least in my eyes, this is possibly the least exciting bunch that I've uploaded so far. Don't worry - next time we'll see some who have scored double digits!
70=. Scott Hunter - 6 points
DOWN 16
Scott rode in on his high horse and never got off it. Metaphorically. (He did actually shoot the horse, I think.) A man of morals, he was always the one dishing out advice to his younger brothers and sisters. But when he needed advice himself, mostly about the inappropriate women he set his sights on (eg: Amanda Vale and Hayley-soon-to-be-Hyde), he'd go running to his mother. I shudder to think what his reaction to her death must have been. Scott was a nice guy with good intentions, but his heart too often ruled his head and made him a whipping boy for his emotions. While I never actually hated him (much), I was glad to see the back of him. If nothing else, it signaled the merciful end of Paternity Gate. I don't begrudge Scott a happy ending. He was nice to Robbie sometimes. Sort of.
70=. Steven Matheson - 6 points
DOWN 14
Steven was the intelligent geek in early years Summer Bay with a secret black belt in karate. He was sensitive and caring and never felt like he fitted in with Fletchers. He eventually became close to Frank and had his first girlfriend and a fling with an older woman before eventually leaving Summer Bay for University. Since then he has returned to the show more times than any other original character. In his longest stint he became maths teacher at Summer Bay High and fell in love with then pupil Selina Roberts. Their relationship caused an outcry and Steven left the Bay. He returned later and rekindled things with Selina, but their wedding never actually went ahead when she was kidnapped and on being rescued decided she didn't want to marry him. They were reunited in England several years later but their relationship has been mentioned twice on his returns to the Bay. First we found out he was married but not to Selina, and more recently during the Dan Bennett era, we found out they had been reunited.
70=. Will Smith - 6 points
DOWN 36
Will was the eldest Smith child who turned up at Irene's looking for a bed and lying that he was a friend of Damien's. He tried to get rid of Joey but it was soon revealed that his mother was mentally unstable and his father an alcoholic, and that he wanted his whole family together. He eventually succeeded in bringing his sister Hayley and brother Nick to the Bay. Will was cheeky, confident and a practical joker. Guys liked him and girls fancied him but he was also insecure and easily hurt. He struck up a tempestuous relationship with Gypsy Nash but she broke his heart. He moved onto Dani Sutherland but in the end couldn't stay away from Gypsy. They were reunited at the birth of their daughter Lily and married in typical style before sailing off for a new life in Queensland with her family.
73=. Harry Reynolds/Keller - 5 points
DOWN 11
Harry came in with an interesting storyline where he had been forced to change his identity. He joined Summer Bay High as a science teacher and moved into what's now the Hunter/ Holden house with James and Shauna, both of whom he dated for a brief time. Harry was billed as the hunk of Summer Bay, but in terms of storylines, he actually did very little during his time in the Bay, eventually leaving to work with his mother.
73=. Jesse McGregor - 5 points
DOWN 25
I didn't cry buckets over Jesse's departure, but I'm sure there are some fans out there who did. The circumstances in which he left the Bay were very sad. On the night of Alf's 60th birthday (the 4000th episode), Chloe Richards was killed after being involved in a car crash. We didn't initially know who the other driver was, but I'm sure some were shocked when it was revealed that Jesse, who was interested in Chloe, was that driver. He'd been drinking before he left the Caravan Park house and couldn't remember anything. After seeing some of the paint from Chloe's car on his car, he remembered what happened. He was sent to jail, and hasn't been talked about a lot since.
73=. Justine Welles - 5 points
UP 8
Justine was fostered by Pippa in the last few months of her time in the Bay. She struck up a love hate friendship with Tiegan and dated a number of Summer Bay Boys including Vinnie and Tom. She was babysitting when the child died in her care and the judge at her trial was played by Laurie Foell. She remained in the Bay after Pippa and co left and was looked after by Travis and Rebecca. She was offered a modeling contract but the photographer turned out to be a sleaze. She eventually left the bay to pursue her acting dream in the city.
73=. Shelley Sutherland - 5 points
UP 8
Ah, Shelley, what can I say? Probably the member of the Sutherland family I liked the least. I think Shelley was an okay character to begin with, but unfortunately I think they ruined a perfectly okay character by bringing her back and pairing her up with Rhys again.
