Flynn Saunders and Sally Fletcher
After a courtship lasting nearly 2 years, Flynn finally decided to propose to Sally in 2003. However this wasn't quite plain sailing, with fate always getting in his way. He finally proposed to Sally in a school uniform at Summer Bay High. The wedding didn't go to plan either, with Sally's horsedrawn carraige bolting, causing her and bridesmaid Leah, to walk. When she finally did arrive, the heavens opened and soaked them. After a few seconds staring at the sky they decided to move the wedding to the hospital where Sally's sister Sophie was and the service was held in a waiting room. Don Fisher acted as the celebrant and all the guests including Sally's foster mother Pippa and foster brother Steven, wore towelling robes.
Despite the unconventional of settings and a number of things going wrong, one of the main reasons this wedding was so popular was because the couple were entirely believable and even in the face of everything going wrong, viewers still felt that they truly did love each other. Unfortunately their relationship was to end tragically when Flynn died of cancer but with Sally due to marry Brad any day now, it's clear that Flynn is still never far from her thoughts.
