Brad and Sally

Today should have been Brad and Sally's wedding day but anyone who has watched the episode will now that things didn't exactly go to plan. Sally, unable to go through with the wedding, stood Brad up at the altar and as you can imagine our forum members have a lot to say on the subject.

We've compiled some of our favourite comments made by forum members.

Felix: I really think Sally did the right thing, even if it did hurt and embarrass people. Marrying someone you don't 100% want to marry is a big mistake.

Pritnep: About time Sally has finally worked out what she wanted, stood her ground and told somebody. Sal doesn't need Brad if he can't be understanding enough to get her and because he was too blind to see all the warning signs. Then even after he knew he thought he/somebody could change her mind and they could get married. It's episodes like this, when I hate Rachel. First of all, it wasn't really her place to tell Sally off...I don't remember her telling Rachel off about all the Kim business - well not that there was much to tell Rachel off for, but you know I don't remember Sally giving her a stern talking too. The whole time she was saying her speech I was thinking that if Brad had just opened his eyes for one second, he would of seen that this wasn't what Sally had wanted, not like she hadn't tried to tell him.

Long-lost son: I have to say, tonight was my fave episode of 07. I am SO happy the character of Sally has FINALLY been made three-dimensional and someone, like all of us, who mess up and hurt others without setting out to. For some time Sally was written very saintly and very do-goodie, which is fine, but some depth and reality to go with that was very needed I think. As human beings we mess up, we do something that hurts someone we love, and I'm so glad Sally has done something like this. To me, her character has suddenly become relatable again. I LOVED when Rachel confronted Sally. If you had a brother or sister who you were close to (or a best friend) and they were heartbroken, wouldn't you want to confront the person who inflicted the pain? I really, really applaud the writers tonight, the entire episode was just fantastic.

Cass 24: I can't believe Brad's leaving Sally! This won't get Home and Away more viewers. Sally is such a popular character and breaking up yet another one of her relationships is really stupid!

Natasha: It's not Sal's fault that she's feeling the way she is. Brad put pressure on her instead of the long engagement Sal wanted. When you think about it, Sal not marrying him is his doing.

Emmasi: My disdain for Rachel grows and grows. It's not because of what she said to Sally - I understand that Rachel was already upset because of Henk and Cassie, and to see her brother publicly shattered like that... well it can't have felt good. But I hated HOW she said it, like a child throwing a tantrum in a shopping center because she didn't get what she wanted. Sure, be there for Brad, but in the end it's not HER wedding is it? Just because she wanted something happy to focus on doesn't mean that Sally should commit herself to a life she doesn't want. It's not really any of Rachel's business, and for someone who's supposed to be Sally's friend as well, she could have shown a little more understanding and compassion.

Rachel&Kim: I bet Brad felt bad though, I don't think the thought of Emily occurred to him once the whole day. Actually no, I don't think Brad felt bad. I know he was hurt but he could have been a bit more understanding.

Frankie: Yet another fantastic episode... everything about it was good... the acting...direction...writing...music.... Sally's confusion was beautifully played by Kate. I even felt sorry for Brad being so humiliated. It was a nice touch that Brad asked Don to talk to Sally... and how at the end Don said he knew Sally would get through it. Pippa was awesome as ever. I really liked this episode.. and actually I needed the tissues... especially at the end when Sally read the vows Brad had written. ... in fact it was the first time I had had a good blub over Home And Away since Barry left... and that's over a year now. It really had me hooked on everything which was happening.

Karena: Sally has every right to call off the wedding seeing as it's her life and she never wanted to get married in the first place. She was railroaded by Brad and the whole town but she should have had the strength to say something sooner. So in that respect I can understand Brad and Rachel's reaction to it. I thought Rachel having a go was a little bit out of order but she was only sticking up for her brother and telling Sally what everyone was thinking...BUT.. she stepped waaaaay over the line when she started talking about Flynn and ghosts. She has no right to judge Sally on the reason she stopped the wedding but has every right to question why she didn't make her feelings known sooner.

John003au: Another fine episode. I could understand where Sally is coming from. She doesn't want to close that chapter of her life which contains Flynn and she feels that marrying Brad will be doing that. She wants to keep that chapter going alongside the new chapter in her life which contains Brad. I can also understand how Brad would feel that unless Sally does close off that chapter of her life then she can't truly begin a new one with him. Its a very difficult dilemma from both sides. The result is that both Sally and Brad have appeared to "behave badly". In fact both have really struggled to come to terms with the situation and have just let things happen until pushed into a corner at which point both have panicked. Sally in not attending the wedding at the last minute and Brad in single mindedly trying to "crash through". The whole scenario has been beautifully written and Kate particularly has turned in a brilliant acting performance.

Ryan: She has just spent months trying to save her own and then in Brad, Sally has someone that has been devoted and faithful to her and she turns her back on him. Brad didn't deserve to be embarrassed and humiliated like he did, yes, he might have been a bit pushy, but that's because he believed that they both wanted it after Sally had said yes. If she didn't want to get married she had 6-8 weeks to say it and today wasn't the day. The words might be harsh and upsetting, but sometimes somebody's got say stuff like that and tell people what really of their actions instead of treading on eggshells around them, trying to pretend that everything is alright. Sally might be hurting, but she hurt people too today as well, when she had the chance not to. In the end Sally doesn't deserve Brad.

Alexx: I expected nothing less from Kate Ritchie, who as usual did a fantastic job at portraying Sally's raw emotions. All of her scenes were so spot on, powerful. Highlights were the Brad and Sally scene on the 'red carpet' - it was so real and confusing for both Brad and Sally, love how she has a strong connection to Flynn and doesn't want to marry anyone else, yet still wants Brad. The whole situation is very 'Sally'. I also really enjoyed the scene between Fisher and Sally, two fine actors, Fisher towards the end of the scene really with his powerful 'Why?' and Sally following on without words, just tears in handing the photo over, really well done. The Rachel/Sally scene was fantastic too, as you actually totally get Rachel and understand her anger, as you feel sorry for Brad too, even though he was very pushy and ignorant. But Sally has made a mistake in humiliating him and leaving it until the last minute to say what she has been feeling for months, for not want of trying mind. Rachel bringing Flynn's 'ghost' up was totally stupid, and the way she said it was dreadful and totally unsympathetic. Great viewing though!! I like how the writers have kept it up this year how Rachel and Sally have remained just 'acquaintances' threw Brad. But I Loved how the episode ended with Sally crying in Pippa's arms like old times (the music could have been a little less dramatic and more emotional, but ah well). It was a poignant, emotional ending and such a fantastic touch, I've wanted a scene between Pippa and Sally like that again for year.

Tasha: It was sad when Brad packed his things, and Sally was reading the vows, I got teary in that part. That little montage was beautiful, with the vows instead of a song. Really well done.

Jen: Now, Rachel. Where does she get off talking to Sally like that?! I can understand why she felt like that but she behaved to immaturely. Surely she felt she could have waited before talking (not screaming) at Sally. Sure, she's Brad sister, but was it really her place to say all of that stuff about leaving Brad for a ghost! It wasn't at all like that. Sally made a decision, not to marry Brad, it's not like she completely turned her back on him. Flynn is still well and truly a part of Sally's life, and I can totally see why Sally felt completely rushed into the wedding. But no one mentioned Emily! It was mentioned briefly in Brad's vows, but I thought maybe someone might have brought her up. Brad of all people should have understood. And I think by the end he might have. But he still got hurt.
