  1. I'm exactly the same - it was a grand movie, and I liked the way they formed it but ... it didn't move me or anything like that... [high five] Saw Changeling yesterday - oh my god, it's chilling that that was a real story. I'm so glad I'm not alone! Although I fear we're very much in the minority considering the amount of BAFTAS it scooped up. Annoyingly. I really want to see Changeling; it's the next on my list.
  2. Slumdog Millionaire. Will someone please tell me what is the big deal about this film? It's good sure, but not aMAzing by any means. I'm well aware I'm probably the only person that is of this opinion.
  3. Hattie are you doing a Meryl Streep movie marathon or something? You've seen so many of her films lately. I don't blame you, she's one brilliant actress & has been a part of some great films. Even strange, odd ones like Death Becomes Her. Lol! Ha ha, I know I've just 'discovered her'. Someone has uploaded all of her movies to youtube and I'm watching my way through them. Some of them are great, some not so much, but she never fails to deliver. I love her EDIT: Just watched Gladiator. I never noticed before that parts of the score are almost identical to that in Pirates of the Caribbean.
  4. Welcome back! I can't remember exactly but I remember reading somewhere they weren't supposed to be American accents but 'Mid-Atlantic' or something.
  5. Bridges of Madison County just finished on tv - slow but sweet.
  6. Rainy, the really depressing kind.
  7. NOOOOO, seriously?! I've been like counting down the days to that coming out! I know me too I was so dissapointed! Still go and see it though, the acting's good it was just that they took a great line from Sex and the City and dragged it into a two hour long feature film that totally contradicted itself half way through. It would be great if it had been funnier but there weren't enough laughs.
  8. I saw He's Just Not That Into You yesterday. I'm not sure I'd say 'terrible' but it wasn't good. And usually I love chick flicks.
  9. Mamma Mia again....
  10. I could barely get on at all yesterday, but today it seems to be working fine (I hope I haven't jinxed it! Thank you to whoever fixed it!
  11. Ha ha, I don't want to bite your head off but now you know how we feel! The screen was largely centered around Aden/Belle storylines at in the last part of last year and I think that's probably why you miss them so much now but for me, it feels as though they've finally got the right proportion of screen time. They've never been huge favourites of mine so I'm glad they've taken a back seat so far, it actually makes me appreciate them more as characters. But I can understand for loyal Adelle fans it would be annoying. I think it's great that they've focused on different characters. Leah and Alf have both had a bit of a storyline, if yesterday's ep was anything to go by then Irene's long awaited moment may finally be here. I think, just be patient, try and get interested in different storylines and I have a feeling that a big storyline is about to hit for Belle, and I'm sure Aden will be there supporting her all the way.
  12. I've voted. It'll be interesting to see how it works out. Everyone needs to stop taking things like this seriously, if everyone agreed on a character we'd never have an interesting discussion. It doesn't seem fair that just because emmasi, you write so well and people generally seem interested in reading your posts that you should be forever condemned for hating Rachel. I have seen people get cross with you time and time again but loads of people share the same opinion as you! It's bizarre. Sorry if this is spamming, it's just the Aus Discussion thread was getting a bit scary. And I don't want to stir anything up I just wanted to have my say. Yesterday's episode didn't, to me, feel like Rachel really understood what Tony needed, it'd be nice to hear her tell him she loves him at a time like this but I guess that's down to a lack of screen time for the couple. I think it's just the way she talks that annoys me, not actually what she says. I'm not sure when it changed but I'm going to date it back to the Kim/Rachel split. I choose to believe she's changed because of heartbreak. I knew it! I knew Kit Hunter could be blamed for everything!
  13. Revolutionary Road Firstly, Kate Winslet is the Meryl Streep of her generation. Just fantastic acting from her. Secondly, not sure I liked it. Yeah it's a great film, brilliantly acted, directed etc. But when you walk out of a film thinking that you might as well give up on all your dreams now because once you get married and have kids your life is over and meaningless, then I'm not sure you enjoyed it. The whole film just felt like a huge anti-marriage story. I felt it didn't have a point other than to batter you to death with the misery of these two people. But I think it's just me, it just wasn't my type of film I guess.
  14. Just something I'm not sure anyone has mentioned about the whole Rachel outing Bridget thing. I genuinely believe Rachel was going to keep quiet about the whole Bridget being a pathological liar thing but if you watch the episode, you notice that she finally explodes after Alf says that he'll see Bridget when he comes over to visit her. I think Rachel had finally had enough when she thought that Bridget still hadn't ended contact with Alf, when he still thought they had a future together. I think there was a genuine trigger for it not just 'she'd tried to keep it to herself for long enough'. If I had started watching home and away recently there is no way I would be standing up for Rachel. She annoys me so much sometimes I want to join the Rachel-hate club. But while I remember my love for Kim and Rachel as a couple I will always defend her, I'm too loyal to them!
  15. Snow but not fecking enough to snow me out of uni.
  16. ^^Fantastic film Defending your Life
  17. Thanks for that, yeah I did really want to see it but it's only available to buy on itunes at the moment. Maybe they'll put it on to rent sooner or later. I'd seen that deleted scene, that was the only thing I'd seen or heard of it.
  18. Just wondering, did anyone see the film 'Gabriel' that Amy Mathews was in? I just wondered what it was like and what Amy was like in it, if anyone saw it.
  19. Stranger than Fiction
  20. Death becomes her - one of the weirdest films I have ever seen. Still not sure if I enjoyed it.
  21. Completely agree with you. It seems very unbelievable that, after his brother went to jail and his Dad kind of made nothing out of his life, he wouldn't want to break the pattern and make something out of his life. I'm not saying you have to go to uni to make something out of your life but it does put you ahead of the game if you don't have a brilliant business brain or something that you want to do that doesn't need a degree. The only thing Aden wants to do is look after Belle. It's a bit short term and, yeah, unbelievable.
  22. The promo was promising today. Now we know they have at least one scene together! It looked like he was just venting at her but I am confident that Rachel will be the one in the end to help him through this. Also, new t-shirt for Rachel - ha ha, now I'm doing it!
  23. Hello Tachel obsessives! Did you notice when Tony's sister said, 'Where's your Rachel?' when she arrived at his house. I thought it was cute. Looks like Tony is going to be very withdrawn, I hope he manages to open to Rachel at least in the end. I think this is going to be a lengthy storyline for Tachel, about time too!
