I'm really loving the new darker colouring you're currently using in all your icons. It's lovely and I especially love these four icons.

I despise both options. But Hugo/Martha almost seems like trying to recreate JM in a way. Sort of. Oh look Jack's just died, lets get her together with his cousin now. Anyway I think this year is finally the time for Martha singular. Yep. That's exactly what I want too. It would be great to see Martha having a big sister type relationship with Xavier. Being there for him in that way. And seeing as Hugo is older, their relationship would work great on a more friendship level. I'd really like them to do that. As for Martha & Belle, it could have worked after Belle left school (and with Cassie leaving), when she moved on to more mature storylines. They should have had more scenes between them straightaway & this development site/cancer stuff would have been a great chance for that. But seeing as they didn't go down that route, if they started to now, it would feel too forced & not very real at all. It's a shame they didn't take the opportunity when they had it.

It would have been good seeing Martha being comforted by Roman (as friends alone) after Jack's death, if none of this unresolved feelings stuff wasn't invented prior to him dying. Now if he comes anywhere near her, it's like he's just there to pounce on her or something. I hate, hate, HATE what they've done. How do they go back on it from here. I think Hugo & Martha will strike up a friendship (if they don't go down the stupid love route between them), imitate the male/female bonding that Roman/Martha had initially. That would be good. I agree, Charlie & Martha could have worked, but since they didn't go in that direction from the off (like Krystal's already said), it probably would feel forced now. On the whole they need more friendship on h&a, not love dramas alone.

Eh?! Nicole's giving up without a fight, that's not like her. But I undertsand what she means, Geoff (the silly fool ) chose Mel over her, it's not like Mel's scheming resulted in them being engaged. So Nicole's not going go professing her love to him. Geoffy already knows in his heart how she feels, so it's up to him to change things, if he's got the guts to. He better had. Really loved the Belle/Geoff conversation. It was classic Geoff confused about everything and clued-in Belle trying to show him the other side of the coin. For a boy adamant on always doing the right thing, it so funny how he always manages to royally screw-up & do the wrong thing. lol! Great writing, can't wait for the next update.

I really liked the Aden & Belle scene. Their converstaion was very mature & I liked how they forgave each other yet everything's not miraculously back to normal between them. Everything that happened was a big deal & now they're still unsure about where to go from here. And yay for Nic fighting for her love. Even if Geoff's not a selfish person, Mel will never be enough for him. Update soon please.

This is soooooo what Geoff would do. Just Typical. The boy really needs to learn to say NO! I'd say there's no better place to start then right now. When the girl you don't love is asking you to marry her, right in front of the girl you do! Say no. Just say it. As for Mel, again so typical, that girl can really manipulate Geoff in to doing anything. And she's so in denial, why in the world would you want to marry someone that deosn't even love you?? It's not going to make anything better, only a million times worse. And Aden "you won't regret it" Jefferies... I think she just has. You better be there for her now. Anyway, there's got to be more to this secret, then Belle cheating with Angelo on Aden (even if I predicted it a couple of chapters back). Seriously, I really do hope so, otherwise i'll be utterly underwhelmed. I have faith in you Karter, I know the cheating forms part of it, but there's something more involved. I really liked the Geoff/Nicole scene in the hospital (chapter 3), but talk about wrong timing on Mel, Aden & Belle's part. They so would have kissed, talk about spoiling it for them & me, although I did love Aden's remarks just after. The Belle/Geoff scene was really sweet too (on the stairs). The last line of that chapter said it all. Although it was nice that Belle/Aden started talking again, it seems it will take a lot longer for them to talk properly. Especially about that issue that seems to have come between both couples. Loved the Nicole/Aden interaction in both chapters, as per usual. And a CaR baby just for me. How cute & I imagine he/she will be one hell of a looker. Going on the parents' genes. A little compensation for making Geoffy say yes to Mel. Right?? Well written... can't wait for more.

^Yup. Because Peggy's so heavily involved & making such a huge deal out of it all, my first instinct was that it's probably owned by Archie. That combined with the fact that Marissa kept talking about her boss & how people should beware (like you said) and the couple of close-up's of Archie, with ambiguous expressions, that have been shown when Peggy's been ranting about the place have only confirmed my suspicions more. Sounds great & I hope it's him. We shall have to wait and see.

Jen's back & with a bang. Soooooooooo many gorgeous icons. I can't possibly quote them all, too many to fit in one post. Really love the Jannie, Drelle (& Bobby/Jess), Jodi/Paul, Mattie & Mattie/Belle icons. Lovely colouring & cropping.

Hehe. Your posts always make me laugh, even those Aden bashing ones (that's an achievement considering i'm an Aden superfan), they are always so witty. Anyway RR1 you have never been so spot on, as you are in this last post of yours. It is obvious to me, even as an Aden fan, that the scene where he comforts Mel during her panic attack, was conveniently placed to make Belle realise what a wonderful guy Aden was. That he had dealt with his issues, through the counselling and was now such a kind, caring, considerate human being. I'd say in that final, scene ending close up shot, she was definitely supposed to be thinking the former of your two options. And Angelo was definitely being vilified in the same vein that Sam was during the JM saga. As very rarely were the hatred posts and putdowns such as 'loser cop' linked to bad actions on Angelo's part. Most of them came before there was any ambiguity with his character. As Krystal has already explained above, it is always the case that the majority of the fans of a supercouple will automatically hate any person that comes between that supercouple getting together. Objectivity towards that third character & their actions usually goes out the window. Infact, the writers actually use this love triangle thing intentionally, as that is the reaction they are after.

Can you imagine it. It would be like the writers offering her up as a sacrificial lamb to the slaughter. The lack of understanding & empathy towards Melody's character is already so high. The vilification that would follow, if this were ever to happen, would be on a par to that towards Sam. Anyway, the only road the writers need to take with Mel is one towards singledom & working through all her issues. And the only bonding between characters that is needed is that between Miles & Mel. I really hope that the Melbourne scenes lead to this. Plus when she does return I would like to see her re-enter counselling. I don't think she herself likes/wants Geoff for romantic reasons. She's obsessed with the relationship, not out of love, but out of safety. That time when she was with Geoff, was the only time she felt normal, accepted for who she was & the relationship was something her mother did not control (initially). I think she just craves that feeling, when she felt everything would be okay, and she thinks getting back together with Geoff would recreate that. And miraculously all her problems would be over. Whilst I do like the Aden/Mel scenes, I don't think that it could ever really be called a friendship. To me it's a one way street, in that it's always Aden listening to Mel's problems or Aden comforting Melody when she freaks out. Have we ever seen a role-reversal. Never. In a friendship, the communication & support extends both ways. Mel is drawn to Aden & opens up to him easily because they've both experienced time in a mental health clinic, and had strong issues to deal with. If anyone would undertsand, it would be him. This doesn't equate to them being friends. You hit the nail on the head, when you said "she looks like a small kid in front of him". It's almost as though she looks up to him for support, and talks through her problems with him, like you would with a counsellor or some other type of outside person. Aden was once mentally unstable, but he's worked through his issues (albeit a little too speedily) with counselling, emotional support from Belle, help & guidance from Roman & friendship from Nicole. Because he's been through it himself, he can relate to what Mel's going through, and help her when she's in an intense situation (like the panic attack). But I don't see them hanging out, spending time together, being there for each other like friends would. And I can never, ever imagine them together romantically & neither would I like too.

*Gasp* Nicole's been bashed over the head. Who would do such a thing? Is it related to the secret anyhow?? Maybe it was Geoff (okay, that's stretching the imagination too much. ), but maybe he'll find her when he's out on his drive. Hey Karter, you really enjoy writing Nicole getting bashed or in a car crash (the last time being in DM). Oh & it was Geoff that found her in DM, let it be the same this time too. Yay! *hopes & prays* And Roman's married now. Eh? When did this happen?? How long's he been married? More importantly, who's he married to?? It better not be Martha , they're better as friends. A CaR marriage... that would be good. That Geoff/Irene scene felt really sad whilst I was reading it. Geoff came across so lonely & as though he was trapped where he didn't want to be (in Mel's clutches). He should talk to someone. Poor Geoffy. Lastly, I liked that Aden & Belle scene, angry Aden & defensive Belle. Wonder what she did, what the secret is?? The writing implies she cheated on him, and then lied about it too. In her words to protect, in his eyes out of cowardice. But the cheating may be too obvious, I bet it's something more. Anyway, great writing as per usual, but I want more. Update soon, Please.

Wow....the year has gone quicker than I thought.....only seems a couple of weeks ago when we celebrating New Year..... Hehe. Happy B'day Bttb, whenever it is. lol.

Your writing is so captivating, that it always has me hooked & I want to find out more. I like the way you're not giving much away, yet at the same time the interaction between characters & your descriptive writing approach makes us ask more & more questions. It's a great start, and you always write Nic & Aden perfectly in character. You've captured Belle, Mel & Geoff perfectly too. I loved the way you wrote the Geoff/Mel scene. It's weird in that you could really feel Geoff's uneasiness in that relationship (without him actually expressing it), yet at the same time to him it felt safe being there. Can't wait for more. *goes off to finish reading December Mourning*

Them in love triangle over a girl is a big NO! Aside from that very lovely exception you mentioned ofcourse. I also never get sick of watching two friends interact, Nic&Aden are probably the friendship that've had the most amount of screentime this year (still not a huge amount), yet i'll never tire of their scenes & always look forward to more. I really hope they give us what we want. As for Roman cohabiting with Miles, sounds just about right. I can imagine some hilarious scenes. lol! As long as Nic & Aden can go along too.

I agree completely. When a romantic/love relationship becomes popular, the writers/producers really jump on that bandwagon, and give that 'supercouple' a huge amount of scenes, screentime and storyline after storyline to the point that we get sick of watching then & they get ruined as a couple. Why in the world do they not give us more scenes of a popular friendship?? Not to the point of boredom, but just the right balance to give us what we want & at the same time keep things interesting. I don't think there's ever really been a storyline that revolves around a friendship, as in something major happening with just two characters that are close friends. I think this is the time & Miles/Roman are the ideal choice.
