I don't understand why he doesn't have more of a following, I have such a fondness for him Thanks for the info.

What was Jack's 2000 return like? Someone said he had a different accent?

The 1990-1993 youngsters don't seem as strong as the 1994-1997 ones. But Finlay should have been used more, I imagine she had a lot of male fans.

Leah Patterson/Baker - Ada Nicodemou

That makes no sense whatsoever. I could move into Summer Bay House, that wouldn't make me decide to become a foster parents. -

But Leah has no reason to become a foster parent. -
Thank goodness, I thought I'd just never read it mentioned, the thought was certainly odd as they have such a good sibling relationship. Poor Jack. I know he did some stupid things leading to the bush fire. But I'm gonna miss him so much when he goes.

Oh my goodness I shouldn't have read that.

Wasn't Roo heavily career-orientated when she went out to the States? Perhaps she found out late in the pregnancy that her partner was cheating on her and she wasn't willing to give up everything to be a mother and partner to someone unfaithful...especially if she thought it would affect her career. Roo would be too ashamed to tell anyone she has this child. It would also pay homage/be reminiscent to her aunt Morag giving up her child in favour of her career. They could bring back Morag to kickstart the storyline. Picture this, Morag comes back to commemorate 25 years of Bobby's death. Roo goes with her to her grave; Morag breaks down and says how much she regrets not having anything to do with Bobby in the 5 years after she found out she was her child. She says 'it's the biggest regret of my life'. Roo looks suitably uncomfortable and distressed, she goes home and pulls a teddy bear out of the cupboard, looks at it, and sobs. A few days later she tells her family that she has a daughter/son in the states she gave up and it's time to get in contact.

I would be happy for Roo to have had another child she gave away while she was living in New York.

How would people feel if Martha was re-cast? It would be an excellent storyline for Roo.

Yes, it would be nice to see her brother, but if Ryan came back it could facilitate an Amanda return which would be bloomin awesome!! -

He is brilliant. Daniel still gets recognised for his role apparently. I loved Jack's dress sense in 1994, they gave him baggier clothes in 1995
-
I still like him in 1995, but yeah he has changed a fair bit, the actor put on weight too.

I wonder if anyone owns fan cards for the early years cast. I'd love to get some for Jack, Shannon, Curtis, Selina, Shane and Angel.

Donald Fisher - Norman Coburn
Skylover replied to Light of the Bay's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
Very interesting! Shame we can't see that episode. I'd be interested to know what else you've found out during your research about the show Where did you find out about Norman playing a labourer on Coronation Street? I tell you what I do think is a shame - there seem to be hardly any TV interviews online with the Early Years cast. I only seem to find one of Kate Ritchie from 1997 but that's about it. Such a shame! I'd love to see interviews with Debra Lawrence, Daniel Amalm or Dieter Brummer and Melissa George! The 'where are they now' 2006 interview featuring some of the original cast was good though. -
Shelley Sutherland - Paula Forrest

I didn't realise how good Rhys and Shelley were sometimes. Their breakup scenes at the end of 2002 were brilliantly acted.- 1 reply

I agree. I've been watching some of 1988 when she became the nanny for her grandson without her son knowing. That was great. Her grandson Ben called his dad saying he hated Floss, so he requested to speak to Floss directly, who then put on a Scottish accent so he didn't recognise her voice. I think it was a mistake to axe the character, she served the grandmother role perfectly.

Love Jack. Such a shame to hear that Daniel had a difficult time playing him. According to a news article I read the other day, he really struggled with it, and resorted to comforted eating and drinking loads of coffee and coke to cope. I hope he knows how loved his character was (by me at least!) He has become a dad in the last few years which is lovely to hear. I know he'd never return to the show but I'd love it if he did.

Donald Fisher - Norman Coburn

Your research is 1st class. Serious respect for you Homeandawayfan, I even got a little emotional reading those articles about Norman Coburn. Very very interesting to read that in 1970 he had given up acting and would never take it up again! Yet fast forward 18 years and he would have a career-defining moment lasting 15 years, creating an iconic character in the process. I wonder what happened to his vineyard and whether he still owns that land in Cornwall. -
More topless scenes please

Sarah Lewis - Luisa Hastings Edge
Skylover replied to Skylover's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
The 2006 part of it sounds botched to me. Sarah certainly had an eventful life, didn't she, managing to become a drug-addicted psycho, have a psycho fall in love with her, kill a man and herself. -

That's what it says on BTTB. -
Hunter is painfully immature though and he did burn Leah's house down
