  1. . He's so calm and sweet.
  2. Roo was Number 6 on Digital Spy's recent article 'Top 10 most sidelined soap characters', how do people feel about this? I agree, Georgie's a great actor and I feel she has the potential to really sink her teeth into a meaty storyline.
  3. Thanks Dan, I enjoy reading the main site.
  4. There seems to be a lot of posters on this board from Norfolk, is Home and Away a popular show for Norfolk people
  5. Thanks very much Red Ranger
  6. When is Jack Wilson's final episode in 1996? Thanks in advance Sorry; I just realised this should have gone in the Bayside Diner section, didn't realise there was a question section there.
  7. Am I the only one who still likes Pippa I do love both versions, but it took me until about 1992 or 1993 to start liking Pippa 2.
  8. I'm surprised that Dannii Minogue CD in the jukebox hasn't burned out yet in the early eps.
  9. I just watched Episode 51 again and Donald said he became a teacher in 1963
  10. Hi there, I noticed a few people voted for this character in the 2012 vote so I was just wondering what this character was all about and what makes him so great?
  11. I don't know if people realise this already but it appears that VJ and Harvey both have fan cards now. I've just seen copies on Ebay.
  12. Congrats, Jamie!
  13. Because it all went crap after that? I don't know why I started watching the show again in 2006. I haven't truly enjoyed it apart from 2008 and Marilyn/Roo's returns. Someone I was talking to about Home and Away a year ago said that all the newspapers at the time of Bobby's death had headlines such as 'Can Home and Away continue without Bobby?' etc...Maybe I read that on here actually. But still, she was and is one of the main characters for its first 5 years. If there was a 'Most Popular Character' vote now, I think I would only include characters from the early years now with the exception of Irene.
  14. ITA. Perhaps Bobby's death is the defining moment which ends the 'early years'.
  15. Well...I feel like I can't make an informed opinion because I haven't seen the following couple of seasons but I do feel like the show has changed considerably since it started. I think cast changes obviously lead to an overall change in the tone of the show. For me the first significant change was Roo and Frank leaving, as well as the Diner being introduced. I really loved Hogan's Store in 1988 but I'm not going to lie - I don't see Roo or Frank as 'classic' characters, both of them were quite wet IMO - I know Roo was good because she gave the show a bitchy character from the off but I've never been a fan of her and much prefer Georgie Parker's incarnation. When Hogan's Store was the meeting place for locals the show seemed much more of a small community out in the sticks, whereas the Diner makes the area seem much larger - that has a lot to do with the change of the show IMO. And after Roo and Frank's departure, there was the introduction of quite a few new characters; Emma, Viv, Adam. The next change comes when Celia, Lance, Martin and Tom leave and I'm guessing Pippa #2 arriving will mark the start of a new era for me. A lot of the pivotal characters have left in 1990 and I think this season marks the start of a new era for the show. As I've said before though, I can't really make an informed opinion - however, the departure of Carly, Steven and Bobby will be instrumental in the end of the early years comes 1992/3 IMO. I think that is when it can stop being considered the 'early years'.
  16. I want him to be cast in Neighbours now. He needs to be on my TV screen. Love him
  17. He's majorly hot Other than that, I dislike him. It's a shame they can't redeem him somehow as he's just so good looking I'd like them to keep him on...
  18. Congrats everyone for your replies! I'm thinking of getting all my personal replies framed now, but I don't know whether to wait until I've got two more replies then get a 6x3 fan card frame, or remove Liam as Axle didn't sign the front, then being able to have a 5x3 frame. What do you guys think? Here is the former option...
  19. I don't know if anyone's reading because nobody's replied to my last two posts, but I'll post scans of my GP fan card anyway:
  20. I got Georgie Parker in the post this week. Took 10 months. Very pleased with this response. I will post scans soon
  21. Do they all remain in that household for a year or two yet? I know Matt leaves in 1991, and Maz in 1992, but do they all live together until their departures? I've never seen the next two seasons so I don't know how it pans out... I do love them all together though, particularly Matt and Adam who have quite a lot of sexual chemistry But yeah, they're great. So far, the Ernie Jacobs plotline has been my favourite involving the beach house residents.
  22. Congrats, Jamie - what a lovely response. It's replies like those that make collecting autograps such a rewarding interest
  23. Here is Camilla's fan card of Sasha Bezmel (Demi Harman): Camilla - I don't know if you saw my last post, but I uploaded your other recent fan cards as well. They can be found here
  24. Surely they could get him back for at least a lengthy guest stint, say a few weeks to two months? It would be brilliant to see Donald again, and the relationship between him and Marilyn does need to find closure. I don't think it will happen while Cameron Welsh is in charge.
