  1. I completely agree with you. I think that's what makes her different to most of the other characters, she's a very real character and representative of a lot of the issues women go through in reality and she's not afraid to admit when she's wrong. I think the reason Rachel had managed to survive with more storylines than some of the others is because 1. Amy is an amazing actress and 2. because being a doctor she gets into other storylines and still gets screentime even when her own characters storylines are lacking. It's been so lovely to see Rachel go back to being a bit more like she was when she first turned up, having happy storylines and seeing her and Tony's relationship and 'closeness' as a couple increase since she found out she was pregnant. The little touches and pet names 'babe' make such a difference, make their relationship seem real. Amy and Jon definetely have chemistry, I don't even notice age difference! Finally, it's VERY nice to see that Rachel's popularity has gone back up lately.
  2. I think she's pregnant in real life because even though she was sitting behind the bed you could stil see she had a bump from the way her shirt was. I thought you could anyway! I'd like her to be full cast to, although I like that they have background characters. It would be good if we got to know a bit more about them though, like so many of us were shocked when we found out Julie was a Mum!
  3. Karen I agree with you! I think the main difference between the way their relationship was portrayed is that EVERY scene they acted like a couple, hugging, kissing, holding hands etc. Sometimes they have stupid scenes like that one where Jack was at the hospital with Tony, Rachel walked around to tell Jack how Martha was and apart from a quick smile, she didn't acknowledge Tony in anyway (the scriptwriters fault not Amys...just incase anyone thought I was blaming her!) Plus they were a lot more flirty and happy whereas lately a lot of their scenes have had to involve tension and disagreement. And Rachel moaning to Tony I hope this new shift sticks and they act like that more often! I really wish we had seen more of Rachel's concerns about the baby, we heard Tony's but apart from some unsure glaces at Leah we got nothing. I would also have rather Joe didn't come back (although the episode he died had awesome acting by Amy and I loved Tony in that episode for how loving he was) and we could have seen more of their problems, it's a very real issue. They're meant to have had problems like a lot of people do yet all weve seen on screen is Tony having a miraculous vasectomy reversal and Rachel getting pregnant within 2 months. Seeing these scenes rather than just always hearing about them is important, if I wanted to hear about them I'd read a book. Plus there could have been some comical scenes within them trying to get pregnant.
  4. Yer I can't see how they can break them up now, particularly seeing as how they're having a family together, although the fact that Jon's contract has been renewed yet no word on Amy's slightly concerns me! I LOVE Rachel's wardrobe, sure there's a few things that I really don't like (particularly that baggy top which she has in yellow and pink, sorta 60's style) but she has a very professional look and dresses sensibly unlike some of the women on the show! Plus she has a really good figure, curves are much better than skin and bone in my opinion. She's one of the more relatable characters I think, to me she is anyway and I'm looking forward to seeing how she juggles being pregnant and having a career ( ) Should make for some good scenes if it does come true because she's an amazing actress, particularly in dramatic, emotional scenes. I'd love to see her get a best actress logie but I don't think she's popular a character enough to even be nominated for one, because of the less screentime she's had this year.
  5. This thread cannot be on the second page Hehe.
  6. Emmasi - I agree with you in the sense of Tony being too timid. It's definetely like him to be a bit more agressive, I know they're trying to show the audience that he's this loving, gentle, caring guy but they're generalizing a bit. I think the reason Rachel didn't say anything is because then he would have felt obliged to tell Jack - he is his son. Jack would have been devestated I reckon if he found out Tony knew about the possible cancer cluster and didn't say anything - so in this circumstance I think Rachel was just trying to protect him. Plus, showing Tony having a reaction would involve Tony actually having a storyline and those are few and far between poor guy! Mind you, he's had more scenes since getting together with Rachel hasn't he?
  7. I completely agree with you. I reckon they'll bring back the fun Rachel a bit more when she becomes pregnant now she has everything she's ever wanted, a family I hope so anyway! Just looked at the Home and Away turns 20 pictures and noticed Amy wasn't there
