Brilliant episode. Eastenders isn't my favourite soap these days by a long way, but occasionally they come up with these one-off episodes that are just fantastic (the last one I can remember being when Mad May blew up the Miller house). Like Jess said, it was important for them to emphasize the child abuse aspect and I'm glad they did that, although even greater emphasis wouldn't have gone amiss. It did feel like a love triangle storyline at times, but I suppose that was the route the writers decided to go down from the beginning, so it couldn't really be helped at this stage. Perhaps doing this kind of storyline in a more overt way (ie. having him abuse a non-consenting, younger girl) wouldn't have been deemed acceptable in an early evening slot.

The kid that plays Peter's son is the cutest child I've ever seen.

Loved seeing Jim in Thursday's ep, I hadn't realised he was making an appearance. Eastenders actually isn't too bad at the moment. Still nowhere near it's old standards, but there is some good stuff in there. I like the stuff with Roxy and the baby, although I'm a fan of Roxy and Sean as a couple and that's obviously not going to end well. The Tony/Whitney storyline could have been done a lot better but it's still fairly enjoyable (and I love little Tiffany). I like the Brannings' storyline, Tanya and Lauren have been great, but they've ruined Jack for me by having him mess too many people around. Oh and I despise Phil and Suzy! That's about it really, lol.

I love this one, I'm going to save it if that's ok? Great work by the way.

I think Rosie will be the key to it all. She's the only person who knows that Tony knew about Liam and Carla.

^ I thought the actual death could have been better, but I can see why they did it like that. Apparently they filmed three possible endings, but the other two featured Tony actually killing Liam himself, whereas this way no one will ever be able to prove anything against him. Personally I think he'll die a horrible death eventually...he's got to get his comeuppance somehow. To be honest though I hated the whole Liam/Carla thing. I never thought they had any chemistry, she seemed too old for him and always treated him like an annoying little brother, whereas he always seemed to write her off as a snooty cow - or at least he did before he suddenly decided she was the love of his life! Plus I think he behaved totally out of character towards the end. Liam was basically a nice guy, he would never have treated Maria so appallingly. If he really loved Carla he would never have got back together with Maria in the first place, let alone run around behind her back without the slightest thought for her feelings. In the end I didn't like him at all, so I can't say I'm sorry he's gone! That baby will be absolutely beautiful though...

I was thinking Bradley as well. It's the psychotic look he gets in his eye when he's angry! But I wonder what's going to happen after we find out, as none of the possible suspects are leaving the show so how are they going to justify them going unpunished? The only time I can remember a murderer or attempted murderer escaping justice in soap is Carl King in Emmerdale, and I still think that's going to catch up with him sooner or later!

I think the writers need to sort themselves out and stick with one storyline instead of chopping and changing all the time. Ronnie and Jack had so much potential but they were ruined by bad writing, then they took a risk by putting Jack with Tanya but now J/T are starting to become popular they're messing them up so that Jack and Ronnie can get together again??

That would be a lot more interesting than what it really is. Are Jane and her mother actually estranged though? I know their relationship is rocky but I thought she visited a while back, when it was revealed that Jane's real name is Lesley?
-
I'm guessing she's meant to be Ronnie's daughter? In which case they probably took her looks into consideration when they were casting.

I read in a magazine that Bianca finds out about Tony and Whitney's relationship around the 10th of October.
-
Don't get me wrong, it could still turn out really well, it's just not how I expected it to be. Obviously Tony has power over Whitney but I'd like to see that extended further, as any girl in a relationship with a much older man would be easily influenced by him. I must admit I didn't see the bit where he said he fell in love with her when she was 12, but if they did put that in that's good (for the storyline, not in general!). I'd also like to know a bit more about Tony's past and whether he's abused children before.

I'm not sure about the Tony/Whitney storyline. When it was revealed in the press they said it was going to be a paedophile grooming storyline, but the way it's being playing out is just like any other affair. Whitney must be nearing 16 anyway (it doesn't help that the actress looks about 18), in which case it's unlikely Tony will be charged with anything, especially as she's clearly consenting. It makes me wonder if the producers chickened out of doing it as they'd originally intended because of the controversy it caused in the media.

^ Ditto, they're fab. The Belle and Roman ones are the best IMO.
-
Yes, she's gone for good unfortunately. The producers said the character had run her course, which IMO is a load of rubbish. With regard to Max,

Gutted that Honey has gone. Damn those writers sometimes!

I love the Sally one, do you mind if I save? The colouring is gorgeous.
-
Ooh, that's an interesting idea. She's about the right age. I still can't work out whether Archie was lying when he told Ronnie that her daughter was dead, but I'd guess so. He's turning out to be a really good villain - I hate him so much!
-
Danielle is awful. Please let there be some improvement soon!

The Jase thing is all over the magazines now, so sadly there's no arguing with it! I'm disappointed though as I liked Jase and Dawn, and I thought Dawn's relationship with Jay had a lot of potential. Shame.

Are you sure about this? I hadn't heard anything about him leaving. I think you're right about Honey though, I've read that in a couple of places now. Last week had two fantastic episodes with Jim's return and Wellard's death, both of which had me in tears! However I'm not sure it's a good thing that a dog and a man who's had a massive stroke can manage to out-act the majority of the cast!
