9 degrees isn't cold! What you on about? Anyway, its lovely here at the moment- warm and sunny with a clear blue sky. Better make the most of this week, its probably our entire summer.

Yes, even I felt sorry for Aden, and I really dislike him. Its a very good storyline in the sense that Aden's been hanging around for months and his storyline has built up gradually. I like it when they do that with characters, rather than someone coming along with an obvious problem which they tell everyone about the minute they meet them. That does not happen, in my experience. Its also good to see Jack doing some acting for once and not just coasting along looking gormless as he usually does

And I liked the fact that Alf was really kind to Colleen when he realised how happy she was to be a Stewart. But I can't stop chuckling about the various faces people pulled when they heard the wrong version of the news. Morag looked like she'd eaten a lemon, Ric's eyes nearly popped out and Irene pulled that strangled parrot face she does so well
-
Oh, today's episode was so funny, just what I needed. When they all thought Alf and Colleen were engaged, so funny. All their faces looked like this Nice to have a funny episode.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I'm so glad I found BTTB. Its like my fantasy world I can escape to when my life gets too difficult and like a treadmill

Yes, B and D should have split up ages ago. I could never understand how she forgave him for sleeping with Amanda!! I suppose B and D just stuck together out of habit. And thats another thing- he called her a slag- which shall we say is not entirely undeserved- but what about him?? Sleeping with his girlfriend's mother indeed!!! What Belle should have done was stay with Lucas. She's bossy and he needs someone to boss him around and stop him going off into fantasy land, and he is calmer than Drew [usually]
-
I think Drew's having some sort of breakdown, probably set off by Dan's death. He is acting weirdly, even for him, and going off into the night alone. Sad really. Leah took it really well, considering Drew is like a son to her. Hopefully she will hear that he is safe and well soon.
-
I've always liked Drew, but I've always thought he was a bit mad. He doesn't seem consistent in what he does, as you say. He just seems aimless at the moment, messing about doing nothing. I think Lucas also went like that before he left, maybe the writers don't bother to give leaving characters anything else to do.

There's a lot of cobwebs in here! I was pleased to see that Martha was alone in her bedroom today- I thought she had in there, I was just saying 'what a tart!' but luckily I was wrong! That dinner party was so funny with Morag woffling on and on. I am sure she was just doing it to annoy them, the naughty woman

It was 'Crash'. [not the dodgy James Spader one, I mean the latest one with Matt Dillon, Thandie Newton etc]. Absolutely brilliant. Its rare that a film makes any impression on me these days, but Crash really made me think about how its more important to judge people by their actions, not the rubbish that comes out of their mouths.

Well, I'd like to report our amazing weather conditions in the south of England. At about 8am this morning, April 6th, it began to snow heavily. It settled and is now about 2 inches deep! Its beautiful, there are lots of trees around here and they look so lovely. I felt like singing Christmas carols this morning- its meant to be spring! It was hot and sunny 2 days ago
-
Thanks QA and Barbara! I thought this story had slipped onto the board unnoticed The idea just came to me the other day so I thought I'd write it. I do have another Roman/Irene story up my sleeve, but it'll be along in a little while
-
Its good to write realism as well as escapism
-
Yes, I like the way you've shown these characters getting older and you didn't just make it about happy couples living happily ever after, as it could have been. You've added all these unexpected twists to their lives- I hadn't ever thought of Ric as being gay, for example.
-
I'll have to somehow find some actor to bring him to life- I could hold auditions! Do you think we could send a petition to the H&A team to write him into the series? That sounds terribly big headed of me, doesn't it?!? What I could do is: somehow copyright his character and then charge the H&A team to use him in the series  Getting carried away now...

Aha... wait and see what happens with my fics I'm sure even if Hugh and Rachel don't get their own fic for a while, they will pop up elsewhere [hint hint] But seriously, I will probably take a break from writing long fics for a while and catch up with real life stuff. I will see when inspiration strikes again. Thanks for your support QA, it has been very welcome

Poor Leah! What a terrible, unprofessional way to be told tragic news- over the phone at work! They should have got in touch with the police, then Jack could have come round to tell her personally. I'm sure that's what they are supposed to do. I'm a bit confused why Pippa is staying with Roman- isn't he living in his car or something? Even if he's in a caravan, why would she stay with him? She could stay at Irene's
-
Aw... a baby called Miranda! Anyway, this is a very good fic, you have a very vivid imagination
-
Thanks, Mrs B, one of my best supporters I don't know when I'll do another long story like that: its worn me out a bit, remember I'm a temperamental and sensitive writer
-
Thank you. All this encouragement is really cheering. Hope you like other stuff I've written/ will write in future. My fics aren't usually as popular as Lookalike, I tend to just write stories without thinking of if people will like them or not, so they can be a bit weird
-
Yes. That was the best picture of a blond man I could find on Google
-
We all know what the other characters look like, but I thought Ceri might look like this [but with blonder hair]: http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/det...27/23282766.jpg

Yes, it was nice to see Tom. I didn't really watch H&A when it started, so I only have a vague idea of what he looked like, but yes, 20 years... We're all older and greyer now. I thought the episode was a dramatic and good change from normal, I cried my eyes out seeing little Pippa begging for her mummy, especially as my little daughter was sitting on my knee. Thank goodness Sally went back.
-
Ahem ahem ahem. I feel the need to make a speech. Unaccustomed as I am to public speaking I'd just like to say a really big THANK YOU to the people who have encouraged me with writing this story. Especially Quiet Achiever and Mrs Baker, who have kept me going when I ran out of ideas, but also to all the others who have posted supportive comments on this thread. I've never shown my stories to anyone so constructive criticism has been really helpful. I was also having a really upsetting and difficult time in my life before I registered on Back to the Bay and being here has really cheered me up. Some notes: I started writing 'Lookalike' ages ago and I'm a bit annoyed that I couldn't get it written before the real H & A storyline overtook me! This fic is set before Rachel even met Lewis and well before she got together with Tony. I was annoyed that she got attacked and that she got pregnant on the show, because I had imagined those events in my story Anyway, my versions were totally different, luckily. Re Ceri. He might be back in future stories, but I'm not sure. I might bring him back if

I will put this as spoiler just in case, even though the episode has been shown now. Now I've taken the spoiler off, cos everyone knows now. I'm glad Sally made the decision she did, because of little Pippa. I would do exactly the same, however hard it was to leave my husband. Pippa needs her mummy, that should be the only reason Sally made that decision, never mind all the other people's needs and wants. Another thing- didn't Tom look old?!?
