  1. Something you might want to consider rosalie is that 95% of the more recent fancards that are on eBay are merely copies anyhow. I actually have two Jess Tovey fancards in my collection purchased from eBay, one authentic and the other an obvious forgery. The picture quality of the photograph on the forgery is noticeably darker than the authentic fancard. For what it's worth the authentic one also features a non-personalized authentic autograph on the backside of the card. Jess has a unique autograph so it would be difficult for the forgers out there to reproduce it. She signs her name in such a way that it is easily identifiable as her signature.
  2. I love Lisa but as I live in the United States, writing to anyone on H&A would likely prove a futile exercise. I've found that ever since 9-11 that posting stuff overseas can sometimes be difficult and when you are writing in a manner like this where you have to include a SASE to get a reply the odds of getting a reply aren't very good I've found.
  3. They look authentic too. On one hand I hope Seven doesn't put fancards up on the website for us to download because it will make it harder for the sellers to concoct forgeries. I might pick one of these cards up myself to add to my collection although I'm holding out for a Lisa Gormley signed fancard myself.
  4. Fancards for Rhiannon Fish (April Scott) and Charles Cottier (Dexter Walker) are now up on eBay. Exorbitant prices even for hand signed cards although both cards really do look sharp. Hopefully Seven uploads scans of them for us to download soon.
  5. I've always thought they'd had that Lorelai and Luke thing down pretty well with Liam being the ordinary blue collar guy who wears plaid and jeans who just happens to go out with the hot chick.
  6. It was ruse to write Nick out of the series for a bit. Peter came back a few months later revealing he was in witness protection.
  7. I'm gonna rephrase this a bit and ask "Why would anyone want to hang out with Dexter?". He's creepy to the point of putting people off with his weirdness and seems more preoccupied with his pursuit of a woman twice his age than he is establishing friendships among his peers in Summer Bay. Seriously have you seen how Romeo has reacted to him, he thinks he's weird and I'm sure he's not the only one. The stuff with Marilyn on Friday's episode was extremely creepy and unsettling.
  8. ^ Your post is 100% spot on. They really have made Charlie look like a poor mother all season long up to this point. I mean she's more of a mother to Angelo than she is her own daughter. I know creator Bevan Lee said in an interview in the H&A magazine last year that he only lets fans' opinions "inform his writing, not drive it" but it's pretty obvious to me that word is getting back to the H&A staff that the majority of the fanbase is unhappy with Charlie's neglect of Ruby. I mean Rebecca Breeds brought it up in a recent interview in the UK, there was mention of it a few weeks ago in one of the soapie magazines...the topic of how poorly the Ruby/Charlie relationship has been handled in the past six months has become a legitimate issue among the fanbase when it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. I should mention though that the preview scene that you mentioned of Ruby and Charlie at the beach is nowhere to be found in the previews following Friday nights episode. In fact it seems like the next person to try her hand at sorting Ruby out will be Bianca who basically informs her that she is a "smart girl making some bad decisions". So add Bianca to the list of adults who are aware that Ruby is going off the rails before her own mother has.
  9. Hey have you tried looking on ebay? Especially on the UK ebay theres always loads of fancards and they are quite cheap Also well done screamingqueen2006 what great scans!! eBay probably wouldn't be the best way to go unless you are extremely hard up for fan cards. First off a number of the sellers charge amounts that far exceed what any of these fancards are worth. Second and most importantly when it comes to the newer fancards, (the ones issued in the past 3 years or so) many that appear on eBay are actually "fakes". What I mean by this is that they are not the actual product as issued by The Seven Network and instead are homemade printouts of the fancards printed on high quality computer paper. Essentially you can do this yourself and save a lot of money in the process by just downloading the fancards from Seven's website and then printing them out yourself. Sadly in a lot of cases the fraudulent fancard issues don't stop there as there have been sellers on eBay that sell what they claim to be authentic autographed fancards but in reality are reproductions of autographed fancards likely produced using a scanner and printer. For example in my collection I have a fancard signed by Esther Anderson which I purchased off of eBay last year. Since that time I've seen the same fancard (with the exact same signature affixed in the exact same location) being auctioned on eBay by the same seller several times over. Since nobody is capable of signing their name in precisely the exact same way everytime, it's more than likely that in a lot of cases sellers advertising authentic autographed fancards for sale on eBay are actually just selling reproductions of authentic autographed fancards.
  10. I think we'd all like to see that but we're far more likely to see more whining from both about their significant others.
  11. Some beautiful pics of Izzy there although I assume her autograph is going to become easier and easier to obtain now that she is in the US. I love it how Lyn Collingwood always writes a little message on the bottom on all of her fancards too. Nice stuff Jamie.
  12. I don't know he seems a bit too young for her in my eyes at least. Maybe that is because Marilyn has been on our screen basically forever and Sid is rather new I don't know.
  13. Am I alone in feeling that Xavier is the modern day version of Shane? I never noticed the similarities until all of Xavier's strife with Palmer and his recent relationship with April but he's really starting to exhibit some of the characteristics Shane had back in the day. Heck David Paul Jones even resembles Dieter Brummer slightly.
  14. From what I understand writing to Indi has always been a bit troublesome in that she either a) takes a long time to reply or b) doesn't reply at all. Just giving you the heads up.
  15. VJ probably doesn't have one. I know Elijah has one but can't recall seeing John Palmer's. I'll take your word for it. The others haven't been on the show long enough yet to have fancards. Probably by the end of the summer though. I wouldn't recommend bidding on any of the newer cards up on eBay right now however. There is a pretty good chance they are fakes. Write to the help desk instead.
  16. I think the first thing we need to determine is whether the failure of the Charlie/Angelo relationship is due to poor writing, poor acting or a little bit of both. Personally I think it's a little bit of both. The storyline they are trying to run right now is pretty intense and at least to me the necessary drama needed to pull this off isn't coming across to me onscreen. It just seems like this never ending saga which sort of has always given soap operas a bad rap. The Charlie/Angelo relationship just seems to drag on and on. At some point I think it's fair to ask the question as to whether or not Esther and Luke were ready to tackle such an intense storyline with the rather limited acting experience they have between them. I'm not trying to put either of them down as I consider myself a huge fan of Esther and she has proven in the past that she can handle the dramatic scenes. But for some reason this isn't working and it isn't translating to the vast majority of these forums as an entertaining storyline. Which brings me back to the writing. I think in a lot of ways when it comes to this whole "Bay of Love" thing, the writing has been very much by the numbers based upon a lot of retreading. The show is in desperate need of some new blood which
  17. It really is getting out of hand isn't it. They had a perfectly opportunity for a Charlie/Ruby scene in Thursday's episode but instead had Ruby have the conversation about Liam with Irene rather than her own mother.
  18. I don't care what she does, she's still cute. It's funny how for this she billed herself as "Jess Tovey", I think awhile back Tammin Sursok also did something where she billed herself as "Tam Sursok". I wonder what is with the name changes? Edit 3:29 p.m.: The jacket Jess is wearing in part 2 around 3:35 in the video. I think think she nabbed that from wardrobe. I think that is one of Belle's jackets
  19. Esther would probably be the cast member to write to if you're looking for a quick reply. She seems to be substantially better that the rest of her cast-mates at doing quick turnarounds on autographs. PS: I just noticed on eBay tonight that Marilyn (Emily Simmons) has a new fancard. It may have been out for a few weeks but it's the first I've seen of it.
  20. I may be missing something here but the only name that is coming to mind that was on H&A, left to attempt a career in America and later returned to the show after she failed to get substantial work in the United States is Christie Hayes. There have been a lot of Aussie soapie stars who have come over to the US and never gotten any substantial work and then of course actors who have used H&A as a springboard for "C-List" success in the US but Hayes is the only one I can think of who tried her hand in the States and then returned years later to H&A.
  21. Isla Fisher, Melissa George, Ryan Kwanten...just a few names that would probably be more sought-after than Emily. Are you sure you haven't just chosen those people because they're Hollywood stars now though? If they hadn't made it big, I doubt they'd be remembered any more fondly than Marilyn. And Ryan Kwanten, are you serious? Vinnie's in nowhere near the same league as Marilyn. He wasn't even there during the show's Golden Era. Yeah I'm sure I haven't chosen them because of their success in America. In fact I recently argued that with the exception of Isla Fisher (and if you want to throw in Kwanten as well you can) very few H&A stars who have made the trip to America have ever been able to replicate the stardom they had in Australia in the US. It would have to do more with their popularity on H&A more than anything else. Melissa George would be a perfect example of someone who had reached almost "icon" status in Australia and is a "C-List" actress in the United States. That being said Melissa's character (Angel Brooks/Parrish) is probably one of the if not the most popular character this show has ever created and quite frankly that has nothing to do with her success in America because again if you went up to a random person on the street in America and asked them who Melissa George is, I doubt a lot of people would know who she is. However, if Melissa ever decided to come back to H&A even for say a two-month stint it would easily be the biggest thing that ever happened to this show. As far as Isla Fisher and Ryan Kwanten go, I've always felt that "Shannon" and "Vinnie" are two of the most beloved characters in H&A history as well so I'd put them at least in the running with "Marilyn" but to me there is no contest between "Marilyn" and "Angel".
  22. Isla Fisher, Melissa George, Ryan Kwanten...just a few names that would probably be more sought-after than Emily.
  23. I still find it incredibly unrealistic that Martha is now buddy-buddy with the man who killed her husband.
  24. I don't think Furze is coming back. Last I heard he's headed to America in hopes of landing a record deal of some sort.
