I have fallen in love with Lisa over this storyline (since Liam left). Her acting is soaring to greater and greater heights. I found her character quite boring until now. Lisa's portrayal of Bianca immediately after the attack sobbing behind the car made me feel literally sick in the gut. I'm looking forward to seeing her in the coming weeks. I trust her to treat this role with the respect it needs. And will add another complicated dimension to the trauma she's suffered over the last 6 weeks.

Darryl 'Brax' Braxton - Steve Peacocke

Absolutely. But if I was him, I'd be worried that be leaving and keeping quiet, I was actually putting Charlie in danger! He knows what Brax is capable of yet he still left knowing Charlie's in the middle of it. -
My friend's mum just had a baby at 47 so it depends what side of 50 Gina's meant to be.

Someone replied to me in another thread that it isn't him but I've watched the promo over and over in slow mo and I still reckon it is.

I wondered that too!I'd love it if the show did go that way, it'd be nice to see an older woman(and a married one at that!)going through it and how John and Xavier react to it. Has there been any follow up on this storyline yet? I feel like I've missed it.

Charlie/Darryl 'Brax'

Absolutely. Can you imagine how she'd react if Ruby was keeping a secret boyfriend?! I don't respect those double standards that some parents have: one rule for them because they're 'grown up' and another for their children. -
Anyone watching Desperate Housewives too? The storyline re Gabby being sexually abused by her stepfather is so cliched it's making me miss the absolutely beautiful job H&A did with Aden's character. It's also got me thinking how brave H&A were to make his abuser a biological relative when shows - like DH atm - usually make it the stepfather

This was going to be my point. People who say marriage is just a paper don't know what it means to an abusive man - a license to change the rules on you! People use violence when they feel justified to do so, but that's a personal judgment. So a man who says he'd never hit a woman will make an exception if he thinks she deserves it. But this is a soapie, a fairytale, so I'm hoping Brax shows signs of real change and turns out good -

Yeah, he uses it as a 'last resort' but he still uses it. I guess it makes me more sympathetic to those who have basically said that if Brax wants out of the gang, he should just leave! He seems to want the bets of both worlds - the morality of a good guy life but the 'perks' of a bad boy life. What is he waiting for? -

It was too scary for me to and a reminder that no matter how much people change, they can easily fall back into old ways. There'll always be a danger with Brax that he'll rely on these things in tough times. -
Absolutely.

I wonder what on Earth Brax has over Tegan to feel so confident that he can keep her from talking?! I love how Tegan seems to smile and glare both at the same time like when she tells Charlie, "...your secret is not safe..." It's like she's being serious but is also really amused by it - a perfect bad guy's evil 'laugh'.

Touche!

This is for LauraPhilly!! and all those who like Tegan. I know we've only seen her for one night so far but I'm already liking her! As you can see, I was a big Amanda fan and I suspect I'm going to be a big Tegan fan. I love a bad girl and I think a bad River girl is going to be even better

I agree with this.I remember there was a scene just before Ruby went into rehab where she and Charlie were talking on the beach and hugged and I thought "If she's ever going to call her 'Mum', it should have been there." It's hard to tell what's been planned in advance and what only makes sense in retrospect but it seems like they spent most of 2009 semi-avoiding each other, getting on okay but not really dealing with the issue. The last few weeks of the year it did seem like Ruby in particular wanted to deal with the new situation and become a family so I'm hoping they'll continue that way next year and we'll see them reach the point where Ruby can call her "Mum".I hope that's what happens but I'm afraid there's just as much chance that they either won't bother or they'll turn what should be an important development into a meaningless throwaway remark that they don't need to follow up on. Half a year on and she still doesn't. But I know people who call their parents by their names and they haven't even grown up as siblings. Maybe Ruby's just comfortable using Charlie's name. But when she refers to Charlie indirectly, she does sometimes say 'mum'. It would be hard for her to make the transition having all her childhood memories feeling like her biological grandmother who raised her is her 'real' mum.

Me too! All things Brax is the best thing about H&A at the moment. Usually I miss old characters for awhile but love that Brax took over from... what was his name again? Lol. KEEP BRAX! -
Saw Rebecca at the shops today, which was surreal.
-
Seeing Todd on Rescue Special Ops is making me miss Adelle again None of the couples since them come close in chemistry.
-
I thought he'd be better with Leah too.
-
Top Gun again in preparation for the sequel!

I think the actor is cute but not the character. -
I love Leah and I wish something would be done about her relationship status - either make her happily single i.e. not dating (and give her other story lines not relationship related), or meet someone long-term. I've often wondered how a largely off-screen partner could work - someone who works in the city and we only see occasionally but can assume they're together all the time we don't see. Has that ever been done before? ETA Or give her the time to establish real chemistry with someone - it was too rushed with Elijah. I've also thought about what she could study to make her more of an asset to the Bay - maybe a bit like Palmer, using her small-business sense to run for council or something.
