  1. I know it's probably been noted before but John's folder with AJP Celebrant in big elaborate gold letters...real subtle, but so him!
  2. Felt really sorry for Kirby through this, Mali has been great with her; though Kirby has always been a strong character but never seen much under it, if you like and sadly, the attitudes to non-whites you know she would've seen but brushed it off because it's easier not to make waves but it doesn't mean perhaps she hadn't been subconciously affected by it and sadly, being attacked in this way, it's brought it to the fore. Even though Mali had everything changed and cancelled the Open Day it's sadly only a sticking plaster.
  3. Always love these extra tidbits, Dan, knew about the demolishment but not the rest.
  4. RR1, Ziggy did have a kid ultimately so could've been in the running; I mean I think he was looking to make a secure base, try to make a family unit again and Flick was not a candidate for security per se as in she never wanted to do mummy/wife stuff as in domesticated as such and she didn't really understand his version of family as in big because, sadly, she didn't have one whereas I suppose I look at Harper's background and she seems to have sought security in her job by trying to give others what she never had, in that subject they bear a similiar mindset I suppose. Nothing wrong in domestication or gregariousness, each have their merit.
  5. I know itis purely coincidence but noticed Tim's surname was Russell and he does bear a resemblence to Dylan...don't tell me we've got another long lost child of Angie's in the bay...though his lack of morals might be a clu, haha!
  6. No agree entirely, the 'hehe' was rather a laughing comment on the 'only in soaps' from previous poster, in my own family unit we've seen some fast movers but our neighbour topped it by actually getting engaged while her husband was dying, truth is stranger than fiction, it really is sometimes. In contrast my Nan lost my Grandad nearly 41 years ago and she's always said there would never be anyone but him. I think, oddly, had Tane met Harper if not first but certainly before he dug deep with Flick he may have chosen the former, he seemed to change alot of losing Ari, grief does that. Oh Cash, Cash you really are not coming off well here trying to make heartbreak sound noble but kind of becoming stalkerish now. Equally do not blame Abigail for tearing Eden off a strip...though I think one would most definitely have to question Tim's ethics too.
  7. Happens in real life too, hehe!
  8. You have excellent taste in blunder movement!
  9. I get that Bree doesn't want to tell but I also get Roo's point of view too; yes, Bree has the tool but, as we all know, mental health doesn't run like a phsyical illness, she has every chance of having another meltdown, equally not but then again, any patient has the right to trust their doctor as much as possible, so the patients probably should have the right if they would want someone with those kinds of issues to treat them as the patient's consequnce would likely as not be more dire than the doctor's. Oh Dana, you silly girl, I believe the teen's say 'check yourself before you wreck yourself' and she should've done that. Her 'aw John, I've said sorry' is typical of 'I can hurt your feelings but you're not allowed to hurt mine 'cause I can't cope' attitude you see alot these days. John cut her shifts because she asked, why would he give her more responsibility at the moment anyways? I thought the tai'aha scene was good, a nice sign of the ancestry being passed on, I know we don't know if Perri has any uncles but Tane doing it is fair enough, as I think it's only done by men traditionally but equally the contrast of Kaia's convo with Harper, the two sides of Perri's side in one moment. I loved the goodbye scene too, with the sweetness of the shared kinship in the hongi but the ultra brotherly tussle, just perfect for them and awww to Perri leaving the basketball for Baby.
  10. I did really feel for Perri; can very much understand his hurt and anger, I think Kaia was doing okay until she mentioned sneaking to watch the basketball games; yes, we know he thought she was dead but I think he would've been desperate to at least know she was out there. I do see why Kaia was on a sticky wicket but also get him saying he went through hell and her being sorry and scared doesn't change tthat, whicch is true. Though, in another, I'll admit I was a bit incredulous myself in the sense of, she knew how evil Carl was so why would she leave Perri with him, as he would've taken it out on him anyways, abusers abuse regardless really. I think he needed Tane's life experience but also Theo's age relation to give him a chance to work out what he wants, just because she's his Mum doesn't give her emotional rights anymore, he's 18 but if he does want to know that's good too. Eden shouldn't have gone after Tim and Tim should've kept it in the troos, he could lose a lot but so could Eden, him abandoning Abi was callous, knowing part of why she was there in the first place and the 'getting another therapist' isn't a quick fix really, trying to create the rapport takes a while. Whilist it is very much a pot/kettle moment, I did smile at Levi thumping Tim, finally he's starting to earn bro stripes. Alf's kind of PTSD over Bree is understandable, it is a very confronting thing to realise someone you're meant to trust had complete control of you whilst they were out of control themselves, it is scary.

  12. Poor Perri; he truly has been through hell in all ways and now added bombshell of Mama; I can apprecte him feeling shocked, resentful but extremely hurt, to discover one half of most your of your life has been a traigic lie, needlessly ironically, but then all the effects and feelings of of Carl's abuse which I should imagine would start to surface now, even the honesty about them perhaps, it's going to be a reallllllly rough ride, in a real life situation this would call for an awful lot of councilling as, let's face it, you've got many big feeling topics. Abuse, abandonment, gulit etc. Tane has been good in the 'big brother' role and the fact he has allowed Perri to react without any barriers so's to speak will be helpful; I think he should hear Kaia out but even then Perri can still say 'doesn't matter, go away', at least he'll know everything then. I did feel for Kaia, though I don't agree with her leaving her son, you can also well believe as we've seen that Carl would'vce had no qualms about carrying out his threat and possibly even enjoying it. The procescution judge was played perfectly, the whole thing of Carl being a victim, it's what they do! I'll admit all I've wanted to do is hug Perri through it all from day one, Tane too at points, because yes Perri's 18 in age and clearly no fool but in other ways has had to catch up in life really quickly. Catriaona and Ethan have played blindingly well throughout. Sort of off-topic but one for othe soap fans, Ian Beale would've gotten a shock if he'd been in that courtroom, wouldn't he? Another ex wife back from the dead!
  13. Leah: I'd like you two to make a vow Marilyn: Oh no, no that ship has sailed John: That ship has sunk!
  14. Ah Carry On Summer Bay! Eden, no, no, no 1000000000000000000000000000 x NO! You never read something personal like that, even if it's laid out, that is not okay.
  15. Bree is is in a really bad place right now but her begging Remi not to tell is dangerous possibly; she's right people might think twice of her being a doctor but if the Alf saga were to get out (this is SB after all) she would possibly still be in that mistrust position but hopefully with prper help her recovery and career could be nurtured. Poor Perri, very hard decisions to make; sadly one box of trinkets doesn't change very much. I'd say he'd be better off with a cremation because there isn't the obligation of grave tending as in if he were to end up going to jail etc but also maybe it might give him a chance to start again one day, you never forget what happens but it doesn't have to define your whole life. Loved the gender reveal scene, it's great to see that unbridled joy of it all, a new baby coming, regardless of circumstance can be a momentous moment, scary and joyful in equal measure!

  17. Well done Levi! (I know, I can't believe it either!) Carl's torturing Perri was actually a tough watch, Perri should've picked up a certain something methinks, yes he might still have been in trouble but maybe Carl would've been punished in another way.
  18. Haven't seen today's yet.. The distorted thumping was done to brilliant effect as per; no-one can ignore Bree's instability now, she is quite literally watching Alf come close to death until she picks her perfect moment being driven by what seems to be OCD, it gave a kind of creepy air I thought, which added to the drama. I know she is an ED doctor fully qualified etc. but in some ways, I'm surprised Levi didn't put his foot down a bit, given he is a specialist in cardiothorasics and, even without test results, an educated guess would signify cardiac/lung are the problem areas. Claudia always gave me kind of 'sinister princess' vibes i.e. 'I get what I want no matter what, if you don't obey there's trouble.' Husband is off the mark with Justin but with his wife...who knows. Maybe she's extremely driven and sees her husband lacking in certain areas?

  23. True, had forgotten Vernon Kay! I think Cash was unfair to Eden today and, though I don't suppose it was intentional, he actually came across as a bit sinister the way he tried to chase her off almost as if Michelle belonged to him, never mind the hypocrisy of 'She (Eden's) been through too much', he caused most of it. It's Michelle's choice, really and, though you don't ever really get over losing someone, maybe it might give Eden a form of closure which she deserves just as much as him. I'll give Abby her due, she's trying but I can get Levi's concern from more of a medical stand point, getting clean is a major thing but staying is a whole different challenge and it's still early days, no-one saying she's definitely going to slip up but there's a risk, so her having a toddler tanty was perhaps not her best move. Off-topic, I thought Dana's pink top really suited her , actually the whole look!
  24. My father's boss was called Vernon. he wasn't a nice man though! Also we have Drusilla's Park but they are the only ones I know! Spooky's a fair term I think, in a sense, I know in some cultures organ donation is seen as a bit like stealing, but also, I think sometimes it can be just too hard for loved ones because, not that you would ever begrudge that receipient their life at all, it can perhaps compound the feelings of loss. I think Flick/Tane shouldn't have married really, because though love is a part of it, the fundmental things that can make the 'boring' part of marriage are often the things that cement you but if you differ too much it can damage you both, and as we saw, it ends up being really messy and painful. Maori names would be lovely, if it's a boy I wonder if either of the much missed would-be Uncles would be in there, Ari and/or Mikaere; I know often if someone loses a particularly special loved one, maybe he will mention it, who knows? P.S. Re previous post on grief: just to reassure all, I used 'making a spectacle' as merely a descriptive term not an opinion.
  25. It doesn't matter whether the child's not born yet, if it's wanted, and in truth, if you go back a few decades from the moment a woman said to man I'm pregnant he was forced either to marry her or be judged for that, also in certain cultures it starts there and then, it's what you were expected to do. Equally, just because he isn't weeping and wailing and treating everyone like dirt ala Cash, it doesn't mean he's forgotten; not everyone feels or wants to display their grief and be a spectacle, it can be a very private pain.
