  1. Nothing whatsoever wrong with taking a gap year, but that is not what was implied on the show. I would have preferred if Aden HAD said he wanted to take a gap year...no problem with that at all. Instead, he went off on one at Roman, basically saying he didn't want to go to college whatsoever, that he was done with it, qed. Although, I do concede, that it could be seen as being in character for Aden, to get hot headed like that. But coming after (I think it did anyway?), his level headedness when he found out Melody had locked the door, it was a bit........disappointing I guess.
  2. Just starting this thread to discuss the newest addition of the Austin clan to hit Summer Bay. I'm looking forward to finding out more about him, and seeing who he's going to bond with in the Bay. As for the actor, I've definitely seen him in something before, but after IMDBing him, I'm none the wiser. Unless it was Neighbours, but I'm not so sure about that.
  3. Love it! Just discovered this thread, and I can well and truely say that I'm getting on board this bandwagen before it takes off!! I think they'll make a great couple...Angelo's cheeky bright nature will balance out Charlie's more serious side (once all the Jack's killer stuff is sorted, which I hope it will). Even their first few scenes where they were on patrol in the cop car together were fun. Changelo.....bring it on!
  4. Warning....Rant coming..... Fair enough the writers have to come up with some way of keeping Aden in the Bay, but do they HAVE to have him completely give up going to college. These types of things REALLY bug me. Why bother showing him (numerous times, I might add!), studying really hard?! And now to have him completely turn around and reject going to college is pretty unbelievable. Don't they have such a thing as deferring a college place for a year in Australia? It would have been more believable if they just had him fill in the preferences form and then saying he wanted to defer in order to support Belle. In my opinion, much more realistic & could just be addressed in like 2 lines of dialogue! And it doesn't mean he has to completely give up his college ambitions. Sorry...rant over...but had to get it out!
  5. Just coming in here to reiterate what I said in the Episode comments thread. I've never really considered myself a fan of Tony....I was always just meh about him, and to me he was always more of a background character than ever really shining in his own storyline. But, these past few days, have really made me change my mind. Jon's acting has been amazing! He has really shone throughout, and has been exceptional in conveying all the emotions involved. I hope now, Tony does not retreat to the background again, but becomes the focus of some more good storylines where his ability can be shown again.....and with his upcoming wedding and baby on the way, there is some scope for some good plots to come about, so I'm looking forward to seeing more from Tony in the future.
  6. Not sure where to put this, so in here it goes. What exactly was Belle's diagnosis after getting trapped under the oven?? I've just been catching up on all last weeks episodes, so maybe I missed it being mentioned somewhere? She was sent to the city for what exactly? Treatment? And then 1 day later she's back and being released from hospital...and she doesn't have one broken bone or a broken leg or anything?? I'm confused?! (Or did I completely miss a scene where it was explained?)
  7. Ah, okay. That must be it, I don't have that option yet then. Thanks for the help though homeandawayxoxo. Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer!
  8. How do you edit the line of text directly below your avatar picture, and above your pips?? i.e. over there <------------------------- Maybe I'm particularly dumb today, but I've tried everything I can think of, and can't work it out! Thanks!
  9. I'm a self confessed Adelle fan......but God, NO Adelle wedding please! I really hate the way soap writers feel they have to rush a couple into the whole marriage thing when it isn't even one bit realistic. For the majority of young couples marriage is one of the last things on their minds, especially when they are 18/19 years old like Belle and Aden are. They should be just enjoying themselves, each other, their friends (if they had any!), and having a good time (if the writers ever cut them some slack, and give them a scene that doesn't involve one or other of them being in a hospital bed! ) So, yea, add me to the list that would like to see some early-20-something characters added to the cast that Belle and Aden can become friends & hang out with.
  10. Oh no! I totally agree with you there. Belle was really wrong to push Angelo into getting that information for her. She treated him really harshly just because he wouldn't do it for her, and I was really ticked off at Belle during that whole period. Angelo was an idiot to fall for it. The same with Rachel where she tried the same thing in order to get the cancer patients names. I know Belle is headstrong and passionate, but I think these were two examples where she took it too far. Putting other people's careers (and lives) in jeopardy is not on. I have to kind of agree with you here also. It was stupid that Aden left it until the last minute to change the community service. But whatever. If the courts had granted him prior permission to change it, then it wasn't really up to Angelo to refuse him point blank. I could never really understand why Aden didn't just ask another cop at the station after Angelo's refusal...I think even Charlie walked in at the end of that scene if I remember rightly!
  11. This, I actually totally agree with you on, and it really irked me when it aired when Belle used the excuse that she still needed Angelo to help with the development stuff as a reason not to come clean with him. That was the lowest of the low there, and I do agree that it was basically using Angelo for her own gain. The first couple of times she backed out of telling him I could overlook, basically because breaking up with someone is never easy, and we've all delayed doing something that we know is going to hurt someone else (I know I have), so I could relate to Belle's reluctance and yes, cowardice in doing that. Now to the bit where I disagree with you! For me, that scene in the bedroom was Aden trying to straighten out the mess they were in, and figure out Belle's true feelings for him for once and for all. At this point, Belle had told him that she still loved him (after the courtcase). He had heard her teary admission to wishing Aden had told her he wanted her back before she had slept with Angelo. And just before that, she admitted to protecting him from the developers threat. I think it was pretty clear to Aden at this stage that she still had feelings for him, and the scene in the bedroom was just his way of making her confront her true feelings. I think the way in which he went about it was pretty much keeping in character with Aden, in that he fights for what he believes in. Belle did make a few half-hearted attempts at a rebuttal, but I don't think for an instant that Aden forced her hand in any way. I would like to think that had she rebuffed him strongly, he would have accepted her decision, but thats all hearsay I guess!
  12. If you wanted to turn this argument on its head and look at it another way, it could quite as easily be said that Belle only ever felt both guilt and sympathy for Angelo once his ill-timed hospitalization for the hit on the head occurred. Although this was not conscious persuasion or 'blackmail' exercised by Angelo, it most certainly persuaded Belle not to come clean with Angelo right from the beginning of her and Aden's reunion.
  13. My biggest gripe with Angelo is not the fact that he felt hurt and humiliated by Belle's infidelity (I think anyone would!), and he felt he had to lash out in some way, but the fact that he abused his position as a police officer to do so, to obtain Belle's phone records. Along with this, he now has a growing list of blatent abuses of power that are starting to make Jack look like a competent cop! 1-Getting Murray's address for Belle (I really did not like Belle during this episode!) 2-Pushing Belle's agenda with the medical records access with Fitzy 3-Getting drunk in his uniform. 4-Not allowing Aden to reschedule his community service even though the courts had granted permission for this to be accomadated. 5-Switching the developers soil samples. (Seriously time to take that gun off him! ) Just to point out with this comment, I think it was shown numerous times that Irene had grave reservations about the Adelle relationship. Even Belle's reluctance to reveal the relationship to Irene was stressed quite a lot. Also to a lesser extent, Geoff and Annie's initial non-acceptance was demonstrated also. Anyway, getting back to Angelo, I didn't like his goody-two-shoes persona when he first arrived in SB, but now that we have been shown a darker, and a more human side to him I'm hoping that he sticks around for quite a while. I'm looking forward to seeing his reaction to the Jack shooting, and also hoping that his relationship with Charlie will be developed further as I think I could quite easily like that pairing a lot.
  14. So with all things pointing to some major storylines coming up for Belle next year, there has been no mention of Aden in relation to any of them. What do people reckon will happen to the character next year? Aden is my favourite character, so I hope he gets some good storylines of his own, and won't just be relegated to a 'supporting boyfriend' role (even if it does mean more Adelle goodness )....I can live with that, but only for a while! I do hope that at some point we get to see Larry again, or at least hear some update about his liver disease. Maybe having Aden's brother(s) coming back would shake things up a bit.
  15. When and where was it ever mentioned/hinted at that Fitzy was lesbian?? I definitely missed that.
  16. ^You know, I agree with you there. Since the start of their relationship there's been constant drama & crisis (sp?) going on. Larry & Axel, alcoholism, Aden's abuse, the trial, the development, the cheating & sneaking round, and now Angelo turning nasty! Not to mention numerous hospital visits! I would love to see a period after all this is over, where they can just relax and take the time to do 'normal' coupley things.
  17. I'm really liking the mad, bad Angelo. (wow, him and Aden have really switched personalities! - maybe I'll have to switch allegiances ) Anyway, does anyone think this is going to lead to some dark revelation from Angelo's past? It would be good to get some background story on him, because we really know zilch about him up to this point. But I don't want him turned into a psycho either. Or will he just get over it & go back to being all sweetness and light within a week or two? I really don't know, but look forward to seeing how the character is gonna play out.
  18. I pretty much feel the same way towards Melody. I think it will be interesting to see if she can pull off this whole bad girl thing that she looks to be heading towards, as I'm still not convinced if the actress is a bit wooden or if thats the way she's playing the character.
  19. I was just coming in to post about how much this riled me up today, but you summed it up pretty perfectly for me Corey! That was unbelievable behaviour from her today! I'm glad Roman stood up to her about it too. And usually I quite like her!
  20. ^ I have to agree somewhat. I just can't get into this pair as a couple at all. I mean I like both the characters well enough, but together they just don't work. Charlie seems needy, and is constantly biting his head off or apologising for biting his head off, and Roman just doesn't seem bothered either way about it. So yea, good characters, but keep them apart.
  21. The Belle-Aden romance hooked me from the start and I think the writers did the slow build-up really well. Sure, they started off as being completely antagonistic towards each other, but I think Belle slowly warmed to his cocky, cheeky side through working together, and the sly flirtations in the diner were great, completely believable, and fun to watch. I think the first time we were given the indication that their relationship could turn into something more serious, was when Larry was in hospital the first time. I think it was here, where Belle realised that there could be more to the Aden, than just the cocky bad-boy. When she heard him confess to Roman about his fathers drinking, and how he had been the only one around to deal with that in the past, it was then she realised how alone Aden was in his life (minus Roman, of course) & I think she was able to recognise how that felt and sympathise with him, based on her own history. When Belle stayed with him at the hospital that time, I think it also made Aden start to realise that maybe Belle was someone he could begin to trust & that there was more to her than just a sparring partner for him to joke with. This truely marked the start of their relationship for me, and I think it was one based on mutual understanding, recognising that they were similar in a lot of ways, and actually had a lot in common.
  22. Oh Belle, Belle....what a deceitful web we weave. The continued lying today really did her no favours. Why didn't she just come clean!! I don't condone cheating, but my biggest gripe with Belle's cheating is that she outright admitted she was stringing Angelo along only because he could help her with the development investigation. This was a really low blow for the character of Belle if you ask me. It was shown (pretty convincingly I believe), that Belle did grow to have some genuine feelings for Angelo & although they were dwarfed by her feelings for Aden, I wouldn't have had as much problem with it if they had continued with her just waiting for the right time to tell Angelo because she genuinely cared for the guy & was trying (albeit misguidedly) not to hurt him. Her admitting that it was just for getting Angelo to help with her investigations is extremely callous, and I have to say has ruined Belle a little bit for me.
  23. Evil Angelo! Bring it on!! Really looking forward to seeing exactly how bad he's going to get. And, who knew it, but it looks like there is the makings of a cop in there somewhere! Baiting Roman into revealing the affair...genius! However, accessing phone records without authorization, and drinking/drunk in his uniform?? Surely at least one, if not both of those warrant dismissal, or at least suspension. What does anyone else think?
  24. Hee! Yes, too bad, that is one scene that will have to remain in my dreams! But I am looking forward to the confrontation between Angelo and Aden next week. The pairing of Belle and Aden was the reason I found this site in the first place, so I will always love them for that! Seriously though, I think the foundations for this couple are soo strong. The way Belle persisted with Aden when many more wouldn't have bothered, especially after his harsh comments and actions to her on numerous occasions, all of which ultimately led to him opening up and facing his past abuse, have I believe led them to be the popular couple they are now. I'm looking forward to seeing based on what the upcoming spoilers are saying. I really hope too that they are given some time now to just be a couple once their relationship comes out in the open, and hopefully all their dramas are over! Oh, who am I kidding - thats probably not likely!?
  25. OK, so can I start! I love the character of Aden, and I think 80% of the reason I'm a fan of Adelle, is because of Aden. The writers have really created a fantastic character with so much depth over the last year, trumping themselves completely with the sexual abuse storyline (one of the best arcs they've ever done IMO). Probably my favourite thing about Aden is his fiery nature, and I'm glad that he doesn't seem to have lost that as he has grappled and overcome his issues. However I would say that Todd Lasance's acting is probably the one contributing factor that has made Aden such a fantastic, believable, emotional character, and I totally agree that he is destined for bigger and greater things, should the (very) sad day ever comes that he decides to leave SB. (Hopefully a long, long, long way off!)
