Thats good to know. I'm truly enjoying the character you created for Justin. I think thats why I feel so strongly about this. So it's a relief to know hes going to stay this way.

Angelo, when he first came onto the show, he was exactly what HAA needed, I lighthearted and funny character with no hidden agenda. But then they turned him into what he as become now and I can't like anything about him at all. A list of all his done. Acting like a possessive jerk(before the cheating mind you), using his job to access someone personal phone records, threatening them at every turn, 'I'm a sore loser', using his job to jeopardising a teens future and being smug about, showing up somewhere to agitate someone, harrassment, more threats, blowing up, over someone complaining about that behaviour(not even officially complaining though) and barging into someones home, screaming at them, throwing furniture in their direction, then leaning even closer to them and threatening to get them if they ever complain about him again, punching a wall on the way out, and shoving someone else for the sake of it. Is it any wonder when he was accused of beating Belle up people weren't lining up to defend him? Broke the law by messing with the results of the soil test and helping the developers get away with putting lives in danger for a chance at saving his own neck, put Nobby's life in jeopardy without proper police back up to protect him, when Jack got suspicious uses his thing with Charlie to his own advantage and again be smug about. But apparently because he was cheated on and got accused of an assault he didn't do, that makes all his actions okay. That doesn't condone this kind of behaviour, and neither does the fact that he was nice to Charlie and Belle. There might be hope for me to like Angelo again but the writers would have to do somethig amazing for that to happen.

I was surprised by Geoff's reaction to her being back as well. He didn't seem as concerned as I thought he would be. Instead treated the situation more as a distraction from having to deal with Nicole. Considering how concerned he used to over Melody being with Christine, you would think that the fact that Christine managed to damage her so much that she ended up in an institution would have effected him more. This is the guy who was so in love with her just a few months back, at the time. I also want to see Melody move on. But for now I'd to see her single and for Miles to help her get her life back on track. I want to see Melody dealing with her issues and getting better without it involving Geoff and Nicole. Sometimes they treat this storyline like just an excuse to give Nic and Geoff something to do, considering apart from this storyline there really isn't anything for them to do. It needs to go back to being Melody-centric storyline.

I totally agree with this. It's also been said that one of the reasons they shouldn't be in relationship is because they make bad decisions(not even having to do with their relationship, but about other stuff) when together. I think if that was the case then there should be no relationships at all in Summerbay. Yeah, you got it all right. Axel's death only played a part in Aden's storyline later on. It's what caused Larry to go on the run. And later on caused even more tension in that Larry/Aden scene just before the kidnapping. It was more to do with Larry and Aden's relationship than Aden and Belle's. The one problem I do have with the Aden and Belle relationship is that, more often then not, Belle has become known only as Aden's girlfriend. Another reason I love the developement storyline is because we got see her be passionate about something that wasn't her relationship. Both Aden and Belle, as well as being great as a couple, are amazing characters seperately. I want the writers to remember that and not make them into Jack (just the best example I could think of to prove my point)who only exists because hes apart of a popular pairing yet is brings nothing when alone.

Sorry about the double post but I can't edit my posts. The Angelo and Belle storyline sounds so good. The interaction between these two is always funny. I forgot to mention in my review, even though I don't exactly want them as a couple(but it would hilarious give everyone a shock), I would have liked to see Belle ask Angelo to be her date. Just for shocked look both him and Aden might have had.

This whole part was hilarious. Belle and Geoff work so well together, in this fic, that if I didn't love your Aden soo much I would have liked seeing a Belle/Geoff pairing. Belle and Aden: And the denial carries on. The joke about forgetting to wash of one of the numbers of his hand was really funny. Melody was good to. First the number thing and then the 'Who's your friend?' line. Seriously, the humor in the fic is so much different then any of the other ones. I know it's because of the show it's based on but still.

This was the problem for me. I didn't see him acting on instinct. His first reaction, yes, because you could see his mind working so fast with thoughts of how he was pretending he didn't when he did. That part I liked. And if stayed like that I would have liked it. But later on he felt like he'd calmed down and decided this was the way he was going to react. He didn't have those confused feelings anymore. He was even very calm, sometimes, letting Justin talk but only walking away and interrupting when Justin said something he didn't like. He even was thinking back to what good brother Justin thought and other stuff. He also started thinking very clearly for most of the scene. It didn't feel like a heat of the moment thing. If he just wanted to save himself from the pain, then he would have either wanted to get out of there as fast as possible because he couldn't stand being around Justin(he may have tried to leave multiply times but apart from the first time there really wasn't any urgency to do so) or stayed and tried to block his emotions and try to convince himself that he didn't care(once again apart from the first, he didn't do that, he was even thinking calmly about their past, and the present). This didn't feel like someone who is acting on instinct but someone who just didn't care. Anyway thats just way that I saw it as. But I do hope you are right about what a second conversation would be like. Might not make me love Aden, just yet, but understand him more. I just wish this would have played out like the Drew/Belle fights, all anger and screaming, but completely jusitify.

When I watch older clips of Belle it makes me miss how fiesty she used to be. I do love the way shes more grownup now but I wish the writers would bring back some of that fiesty attitude. Theres no reason she can't be mature and still be a bit like her old self. Once the PTSD storyline is over it will be the perfect time to bring it back.

Belle is so in denial. She just needs to admit how much she wants him because she isn't fooling anyone. The Ruby/Melody scene was funny. Loved Ruby's thoughts on Mel and Mathews 'serious relationship'. They are both awesome in this fic and it's nice to see them interact with each other. Can't wait for the next chapter. Now that I know those pairings are coming soon, it's making me more impatient. The Aden/Belle one is obvious but I also can't wait to see who you are pairing everyone else with.

We all don't know that. So please don't assumptions about what everyone else thinks based on your own opinion. As for the comment your reply came to. I was defending Belles right to complain if she feels harrassed, not her personality. I guess you feel otherwise when it comes to people being harrassed. But thats your opinion. And we, as fans, like to think for ourselves and form our own opinions so please don't go assuming how we feel. And feel free to read through this thread again, not everyone defends her.

She was unfair to Angelo after they broke up and even reporting him to the cops for harassment.He was allowed to be hurt and angry but she went ahead anyway. I don't find her reporting him to be laughable in any way. She had a right. He was a cop and the way he was behaving was wrong. No one said he didn't have a right to be angry but the way he acted was wrong. What he did was harrassment. Considering how Aden and him feel about each other by going to Adens community service(while Aden was there minding his own business, he even told the guy who threw the sponge to ignore Angelo)Angelo was clearly looking to provoke Aden. Or agitate him. And this is after he used his position as a cop to deny Adens request to have his community service postponed. He was willing to use his job to jeopardise the future of a teen and then be smug about it(the comment he made just before Aden left the station). Calling Belle and Aden out in the surf club and being angry is justifiable but all the stuff I mentioned above, added with the continous threats to Belle is harassment. I don't think Belle went to the station just because of the thing with the sponge but because that was the final straw. She even decided not to formally make statement. She merely asked that Charlie talk to him. Being angry over being cheated on is one thing but his behaviour after the cheating stuff completely crossed the line into harrassment. And what makes it worse is that he is a cop. Then when he said "if you or Aden cause me any more trouble I swear Ill make you wish you had never laid eyes on me" she responded by saying she already did wish shed never laid eyes on him.The person who did the hurting doesnt have the right to say that.He never done anything to her at that point only look after her Continous threats, harassment, willing to jeodardise a teens future because he played a part in you getting hurt, and using your job to access someones personal phone records is wrong. No matter how much I hurt someone if their reaction would be to act in this way I would regret having ever met them too. Being hurt terribly doesn't justify this kind of behaviour. And not to mention barging into her house and throwing funiture, and threatening her again for complaining about him after the part you mentioned. Making a bad decision and hurting someone doesn't mean that person deserves being harrassed and they should just take it. And being hurt doesn't give someone the right to harrass someone and get away with it. It's still their right to make a complaint. No ones disputing the fact that Angelo was hurt. But he crossed the line with his behaviour. And his actions weren't about anything but his girlfriend cheated on him. He is a cop as well which makes his action all the more dispicable. I honestly feel Angelo should have been suspended. But it turns out just because he was found innocent for assault all his other actions were forgotten. I did love Angelo to begin with. I even continued to love him when he started dating Belle, even as a huge Adelle fan. He was good for her at the time, in the beginning. But when he started behaving this way I couldn't find anything likeable about him.

And you don't want him to lose any trust in you for keeping something this important a secret from him for so long. Lets not forget one of her biggest reasons. I can relate to Belle in this chapter. Thats exactly like me. Whenever I need to tell someone something bad that they not going to like I tend to put off right up until the last minute. Pregnant Belle was fun. I loved her trying to justify having all the food there. And getting defensive when he wouldn't believe her. Drew scenes are always a welcome. These scenes feel so natural because it's so like him to just ditch work and go see his friends for no reason. And hes funny as hell in this story. Aden and Belle planing his murder was funny. I love that they can be lightearted and come up with jokes around each other now. It's a change from where they started of. Inspite of Drews glaring. I'm starting to think that, thats more for show from Drew just to keep up appearances. I don't think he dislikes Aden anymore, maybe irritated by him and annoyed, and likes messing with him but doesn't dislike him. Yay! Justin is still here. I'm glad he wasn't put of by Belle. I've been reading how you have been writing Justin so far and now I'm worried. I do hope you aren't going to do a Bridgett/Rachel thing and make Justin a horrrible person in the end just to justify Belles attitude towards him. Well whatever you do I'm sure you'll do it brilliantly so I'll just wait and see. Please update soon.

Drew and Aden. Hilarious. The scene with them and Ruby was my favourite. And the quip Ruby made about Melody not talking to her. I was just about to write about how confused I was that were no pairings until I realised it was only part 1. Can't wait for the next one.

I thought I'd create a thread to remember the once sweet Geoff/Melody relationship. They may not have much fans left but to me they will always be one of the better pairing of 2008. I remember scenes like when he told Irene that Melody was coming to his footie game or just after she walked away after the first kiss, the smile on his face was so cute and adorable. He looked so innocent. And you could tell how inexpieranced he was when it came to relationships. It was very in character. Now when he smiles I don't see that innocent sweetness. I loved watching him slowly grow a spine and the way he finally stood up to Christine. He didn't just become a superhero overnight(and a lousy one at that). Their relationship may not have had too many fluffy moments but it had alot of depth. Back then Geoff wasn't just made to stand next to the girl he was with looking cute. He had a part to play. It made me like him as a character for while. Lines like 'I prefer the natural look' really made me realise that to Geoff it wasn't about her looks but really about her personality. This relationship felt real. As much as loved them as a couple I don't know if I want to see them back together. I think they would be better of staying away from each other. And this is not because of any love for Geoff/Nic(I still can't bring myself to take this couple seriously) but because lately I've been starting to question whether Mel was really in love with Geoff. I know she cared about him deeply but I'm not sure if it was love. The Mel that we first saw, after he snapped at her and made it clear he didn't want her, was willing to accept it(even scolded Annie for giving him a hard time), I don't think she would have been the kind of person to behave like this over her feelings. Geoff was the one person who accepted her for who she was and cared for her. The way she been trying to desperately hold on to him makes me think that she just want the sense of normalcy she had when he was in her life. She does seem lost now and like she doesn't know what to do with herself. Another reason I wouldn't want to see them together is because Geoff isn't like the person he was when he was with her the first time. Hes changed, but in my opinion, not for the better. Now hes just this guy who stands around oblivious to whats going on around him and only acts when he is forced to. Melody deserves better. Nicole stands around doing nothing but spouting out one liners and he does nothing but stand next to her looking cute. They deserve each other because they both do nothing worth discussing. I hope Melody stays single for a while then finds someone who appreciates her and is just as interesting as her to watch. While I don't necessarily want them together again I thought it would be nice to remember how good they were together back then. I was so happy when he chose Mel over Nic the first time, when they first started dating, but I should have known it wouldn't last because it's T.V and the hot boy as to end up with the equally hot girl.

You write angst so well. I was hooked on this fic. I read every word so slowly so I didn't miss a thing.

Wow! This is probably the fifth comment to use that word. But it's the only one that describes this fic. Well, that and brilliant.

That was a brilliant ending. This as been a truly amazing fic. You managed to write three characters I hate on the show( Nicole, Geoff, and Annie) and make me care about whats going on with them. Apart from the horribly predictable Nic/Geoff relationship popping up in the end, they where very interesting and added alot to the story. It's the first time anyone as made me care for them so congratulations. Nic and Geoff seperately were really good characters. And I felt that way because it didn't feel like you put them in it for the sake of it. They had a purpose. Nic wasn't just some cutesy character to just show up with some lines that are meant to be funny for no reason and Geoff wasn't there to stand around looking cute standing next to Nicole. They were well written characters. Even if we didn't see much of Geoff. Belle and Adens story has been amazing to read. This was a very original take on their relationship. It's one of the best I've read. I hope too see more Adelle (or Mattie, because I love that one-shot you did a while back)fics from you in the future.

Just read the last two chapters. It reminded me why I love Mattie so much in this fic. She can be so girly and cute sometimes but then so mature. I loved her advice to Belle. And the fact that shes not willing to just say what Belle wants to hear. Shes not afraid to say what she really feels. I'm surprised when Mattie mentioned all the times Belle kept secrets and it backfired on her she didn't mention the one about not telling Drew about the baby. She did it to cause less stress and instead ended up hurting him more than anything. I think thats whats going to happen with Aden has well. I hope by the time Mattie has to decide whether to go to Perth the fic will be coming to an end. Because I don't want Mattie to go anywhere. The only people who are really hilarious and make me laugh just imagining them saying and doing some of the stuff they do in this fic, apart from Aden and Belle, are Amanda, Mattie, Ric, and Drew(can't believe how funny I find him when I despise him on the show). Most of the others have their moments but a majority of the time it feels too forced and the scenes don't even have a purpose for being there but just feels like when a author puts it in because they wanted to include them for the sake of it. So with Amanda and Drew not around all that much and Ric only making a cameos here and there Mattie is the only one(along with Aden and Belle ofcourse) I count on for the comedy. She was awesome in the last two chapters. The converstaion with Mattie made me warm to Belle a little. I don't love her just yet but it was nice to see her suffer with the desicion she made. Seeing her feel guilty for what she did reminded me of what a good person she is. Also surprised when she realised that maybe having Justin in Adens life could be a good thing. I do hope someday Justin gets the apology he deserves from her. Belles reasoning was alot better here. I still don't like the way she treated him but she came of a little more likeable here. Looking forward to the next chapter.

No, I get that. I get exactly why she acted the way she did. And her reasons for it. It's why I mentioned that I tried so hard to understand her because I can understand her trying to do anything to protect Aden from getting hurt. It's just the way she went about it, understandable or not, I just couldn't like her for it. She came of as someone shes not. That reminded more along the lines of Geoffs judgemental attitude, Rachels self righteousness when she thinks shes right about something, and Drews ability to say whats on his mind without caring what effect it's going have on the person the comments are directed at. But that was definitely not the fiesty girl she is. The fiesty Belle would have been more understanding(in her thoughts and out loud) and respected the fact he was in Adens life for 13 years and that means something but still have been stern and let him know that she wouldn't stand by and let him hurt Aden. I would actually loved if it happenned like that. But the way she went about it with no compassion whatsoever for him and some of her comments crossed the line and sounded more rude and arogant then fiesty. I love Belle more than any other character on HAA. So I hate whenever I have feel the need to critisize her but considering I have done it once before here and somehow you still managed to make me love her again later on. I'm sure it will be the same again. [still love your writing, it's just Belle that I don't care for at the moment] Still can't wait for the next chapter though.

I'm glad Justin gave has good as he got. Belle loving Aden and wanting to protect him is one thing but she, in my opinion, didn't have the right to say half the things she did. Especially when she knows barely anything about him. She came off as very self righteous. Shes been in Adens life of what 3 years and has helped him through a lot( and I'm not taking anything away from that because I do believe she helped him the most) but Justin was in his life for 13 years and whether he left or not it doesn't change that. He was there for a lot of stuff. Belle should understand what living in that house was like(whether he was abused as well or not, his fathers drinking was bad enough), so to make him feel guilty for wanting get out is horrible. And he was barely a teen himself at the time. It may not have been the brave thing but making him feel like coward for it is cruel. He was so young himself, Aden and Sean were his brothers but not his responsibilities. He wasn't some grown man who left them behind. Making him feel like him coming back is going to do nothing but ruin Adens life(not her exact words, but thats the way it came out) is not helping. Her basic attitude towrds him as well was annoying. I would have expected it to have changed when he confirmed who he was. Like when she showed him the pic and he was trying to figure everything out and was asking questions she was acting so impatient with it and was like ' How dare he waste time being shocked and not believing me completely when I have questions' in her head. I know her reasons for it and tried so hard to understand her but I still just can't seem to justify the way she treated him, not even for Adens sake. There was nothing redeemable about her in that scene with him. This chapter made Belle seem very immature. I know she how much she loves Aden but to be so inconsiderate of Justins feelings(even if she doesn't know him just knowing the family he came from should be enough) just made me want this chapter to come to an end because I didn't want to read more of her. Thats never happened before. I know this wasn't the way you mean't for it to come out. And it was probably was mean't to show how much shes willing to do to protect Aden but I only see character traits that really made me dislike/hate her. Please update soon. Hopefully Aden and Justin will meet.

Didn't expect Aden to say that. But I'm glad he did, not sure why though. Maybe because, as much as I don't like this Amanda, I still feel like she isn't all bad. I love all the trouble he went through to make the date perfect. I'm sure a lot of planning went into all this. I wonder what she saw in the end. Please update soon.

These two parts were awesome. Seriously, this is the best Aden/Belle date ever written. I haven't seen a date between them written better. You are seriously talented. I don't know how you come up with all this witty banter. There were so many quotes that were just brilliant. Beautiful, lovely, and amazing are all words that come to mind when thinking about this chapter and this story all together. It was a pleasure reading it. You deserve an award for the banter scenes in this story. They have been some of the funniest. I also loved how you added some seriousness to this chapter. The part about him feeling safe was great. I smiled all the way through this chapter. Love the way you ended it. You've brought up the skank reference alot during this whole story and I can't believe you made me love it. You've managed to bring up a moment that had me mad at Aden on the show and turn it into something that I had too smile about everytime it came up.
