Bobby: Oh that it was just a bit of fun Pippa: Mr Bertram is in hospital I don’t call that fun, You know what I give up You’re Grounded! Bobby: That’s not fair! Pippa: For a month and on top of that you have to help Tom clean the Caravans for 2 months! Bobby walks out to her caravan as Sally runs in holding a picture she drew in school. Sally: Pippa look I drew a picture of Kierain playing Guitar and listening to the Hoodoo Gurus! Pippa: That looks lovely Sal he’ll surely put that on the wall with his posters when he gets home! Sally: Really?! Kierain is in Ailsa’s store getting the milk for Pippa’s Famous Pancakes when he feels a sharp pain on his lower right side. Kierain (Softly) Ow! Ailsa: Are you alright love? Kierain: Yeah I’m fine thanks how much for the milk Ails? Ailsa: $1.60, Are you sure your okay? Kierain: Yeah it’s just a stitch. Kierain comes back with the milk Carly notices something’s wrong. Carly: Are you okay? You don’t look so good. Kierain: Yeah it’s probably tiredness or something I’ll be in my room Kierain enters his room closes the door and lies down on his bed. Pippa comes in from cleaning her car. Pippa: Kierain back yet? Carly: Yeah he’s in his room asleep probably. Pippa: Oh I won’t wake him then. Carly: He didn’t look too good either. Sally comes in from collecting insects Sally: Can I show Kierain my picture now? Carly: No Sal he’s sleeping. Pippa: How about helping with Dinner instead? The Fletcher family gather at dinner. Carly: Kierain are you okay? You still don’t look so good. Kierain: Yeah just hungry. Pippa: There’s plenty here Darling. Tom: You do look a bit seedy mate how are you feeling? Kierain: Well to be real honest a bit nauseated, I’m not too hungry here Sal. Kierain passes his pancakes on to Sally then goes back to bed. Sally: Yum! Tom and Pippa exchange worried looks. Vomiting can be heard late at night. Pippa: Is everything okay? No answer. A bedroom door closes Pippa returns to sleep. Mid Afternoon the next day. Frank and Pippa come into the house looking for Kierain. Frank opens Kierain’s bedroom door to reveal Kierain lying on the bed holding his right side. Frank: Here he is dead to the world. Pippa walks in. Pippa: Kierain? Muffled grunting by Kierain. Pippa: Frank call the hospital. Frank leaves the room while Pippa strokes Kierain’s head. Kierain: Pippa? Pippa: I’m right here Darling. Kierain is rushed to the hospital Where Dr Bruce examines him. Dr Bruce: Peritonitis, Nurse call theatre now! it seems I left his Appendix in and it’s ruptured again. Pippa stands there in shock. Home and Away Episode #5 (first day of school for the Fletcher kids) Bobby wants Carly to help her get the $8000 damage costs after Bertram’s accident. Carly: No Way you got into this now you get out of it! Bobby: Snob! Pippa is making lunches while the kids eat breakfast Sally glares at Kierain. Sally: Waster! Tom: I beg your Pardon? Sally jumps with Tom’s words Tom: I will NOT hear language like that in this house! Sally: Sorry Tom. Tom: No not to me. Sally: Sorry Kierain Kierain: It’s okay Sal. The kids are Walking to school Sally with Lynn Bobby with Carly Steven with a girl called Sandra Barlow Kierain in his motor wheelchair listening to tapes. Alison Patterson sees Kierain and starts picking on him. Alison: Oh look it’s The Wheelchair Brigade! Dan: Shut up Fishface! Ryan: What he said! Bobby pushes Alison over in front of Don Fisher. Donald: Simpson! Bobby rolls her eyes. Bobby: Yes sir? Donald: My office now! Bobby follows Donald to his office. Later at recess Alison starts up again in front of Barbara Stewart. Barbara: Patterson! A word if I may. Dan Ryan and Kierain snigger. Barbara and Alison walk over. Barbara: Right Patterson do you have something to say? Alison: Sorry Kierain Back at Summer Bay House Pippa receives a call saying Bobby’s been suspended for causing Bertram’s accident. Pippa: You’d Better have a good explanation Bobby Simpson! Bobby comes in the door and Pippa stands there with her arms folded. Pippa: So? TO BE CONTINUED

Home and Away Episode #4 Carly screams and holds her ankle Pippa touches it Carly: Stop it hurts! Pippa: It looks like a bad sprain. Bobby runs out of her caravan Bobby: What’s happened? Pippa: Carly’s been run over, I think I’ll take you to hospital Carly just in case anything’s broken. Carly: I can’t walk! It hurts too much! Pippa: I’ll carry you Pippa picks Carly up Pippa: Hold on to my neck tightly, Bobby go tell Tom what’s happened Bobby: Yeah Okay. Bobby runs into the house while Pippa puts Carly into her car and drives off. Later in the day Tom goes past Kierain’s room and sees a sign on the door saying “ Do not Enter Musical Genius at work!” Tom: Funny I used to be allowed in there. Pippa: No it’s to keep Sally out, We can go in. Guitar sounds and Kierain singing the words to “What’s My Scene?” by Hoodoo Gurus. Sally: He sounds awful! Frank: Sal!, I think he’ll go down well on Variety Night. Sally: I hate him! Pippa: That’s enough Tuppance! Tom: Another word from you and you’re grounded! Sally instantly starts crying Sally: I HATE him! Tom: That’s it Sally your Grounded for a month! Sally runs upstairs Meanwhile news of Walter Bertram’s car accident is shown on T.V. Home and Away Episode #3 (WARNING! description of Carly being run over my frighten younger readers!) ( 3 weeks have passed since Kierain's emergency appendicectomy.) Celia and Alf Stewart arrive at Summer Bay House looking for Tom. Alf: You there Tom? Celia: Yoohoo Tom? Kierain: He's not here and Pippa's in the back garden.. Celia: You mean they just left you a wheelchair bound boy here alone? This instantly offends Kierain. Kierain: FOR GOODNESS SAKE! I'M ALMOST 18! JUST BECAUSE I'M IN A WHEELCHAIR DOESN’T MEAN I NEED CONSTANT BABYSITTING!!!! Alf: Celia I thought you said you wouldn't fuss. Celia: It just slipped out Alf: I bet, Kierain if you see Tom tell him everything's set for our act in the Variety night. Kierain: Will do Alf. Alf: Let's go sis before you stick your other foot in it. Celia: Alfred! Sally comes in with a jar of Candy Snakes as Alf and Celia leave. Kierain: Where did you get those Sal? Sally: Ailsa gave them to me in the shop And you can't have any! Kierain: Fine. Pippa comes in from pruning the back garden. Pippa: Sally! Sally: But they're mine! Pippa: Sal! Sally throws the bag at Pippa. Sally: IT'S LIKE HE'S YOUR FAVOURITE!! Pippa: Go to your room now! Sally runs upstairs Kierain: Kids, Pippa can I use the dining area for band rehearsal? Pippa: Sure, I spoke to Mr Bertram about enrolling you in school this year. Kierain: And? Pippa: He’s all for it He’s putting ramps in as we speak Kierain: That's good. Later at Dinner Sally starts chucking peas at Kierain Tom: Sal show some respect. Sally glares at Kierain Sally: Mummy's boy. Dan: Aww did someone miss their nap? Sally: Who asked you! Tom: That’s it Sally go to bed! Sally stomps off. Tom: And no television for three days! The Next Morning Carly is going to Bobby's Caravan when a screech of tyres followed by a thud can be heard Pippa runs out to find Carly on the ground. Home and Away Episode #2 ( WARNING!!! Medical Proceedure) Dr Bruce feels Kierain's stomach. Dr Bruce: Acute appendicitis Pippa: Oh no and Tom’s taken the car Dr Bruce: I’ll call an ambulance Carly and Sally are listening at the door when Bobby and Dan Walk in. Bobby: What’s going on? Carly: Kierain’s got Appendicitis. Dan: Oh no. Dr Bruce: I don’t think we can wait take my car. Pippa: But what about you? Dr Bruce: I’ll borrow Neville’s Car. Pippa carries Kierain out of the house. Kierain: Pippa I’m scared. Pippa: I know but I’ll get you to the hospital and you don’t need your Appendix Kierain screams in pain. Pippa: Is it getting worse? Kierain: YES! PIppa Carries Kierain into the hospital. Nurse: What’s the story? Dr Bruce: Acute Appendicitis looks like it’s perforated! Nurse: I’ll Call theatre! Tom comes running into the hospital. Tom: What’s happened? Pippa: They think his Appendix burst Tom: Oh no Dr Bruce comes out of the Operating Theatre Dr Bruce: Everything’s fine he’ll have a drain in his side for a few days other than that he’ll be out next week. Later on The rest Of the Fletchers Visit Kierain. Carly: You big dummy! Kierain: That is no way to speak to the sick Carly! Ow! What’s missing? Pippa: You’re Appendix. Lynn: When will you be home? Kierain: Next Week. Sally reads Kierain’s chart. Sally: What does Perforated Appendix mean? Pippa: It means a little Sausage exploded in his tummy. Tom: Come on kids he needs his rest. Are you staying Pippa? Pippa: Yeah for a little while. After the rest of the family leaves Kierain starts crying Kierain: Pippa I thought I was going to die Pippa: So did I Kierain and Pippa hug.
