Home and Away is CRYING out to be more visually and tonally with its roots. It sadly has been for a long time now.

Is this true? Where have you read about this?

I don't think Bobby and Dean are alike at all. Bobby was rebellious, but she didn't keep on breaking the law and getting involved with crimes. Dean hasn't done this as much in recent times, but he still has a massive chip on his shoulder and takes his frustrations out on everyone else around him. Bobby was much less like this towards the end of her arc. She had become a much more responsible, more mature person. Dean on the other hand, is still much closer to what he was originally like. And going back to when we first saw him, Dean was more than happy to have Robbo killed. Bobby may have been rebellious, but she would never tried or wanted to kill someone.

I'm not really surprised that Dean is so high up in the list. I don't understand why these type of characters rank so highly, when they are the total opposite as to what Home and Away was about. Years down the line, when it comes to memorable and popular characters, I doubt he'll be highly remembered. There's nothing iconic about him; we've seen this type of character millions of times on the show.

Nick and Dylan got into an argument or a fight about something, (I can't remember what, but I'm sure someone here will because I'd like to know this myself), and when Angie found out about it, she made it her aim to destroy Nick.
-
I liked Jade Sutherland too. She was a very sweet girl but wasn't afraid to stand up for what was right. I can remember her scenes with Angie Russell where she would stand up to her over her treatment of Nick. Having found her husband's Instagram and having seen pictures of her on it - she looks like she hasn't aged a single day. And her daughter is the absolute spitting image of her.

Yes, that was only there for about three episodes, before the whole credits had a complete revamp, and part of those revamped credits included Pippa sitting in a deckchair finishing reading a book.

I really like the Bayside Villa houses. It's such a shame that they just disappeared after Don Fisher left.
-
Was her doing the uni degree plot just never mentioned again as I don't remember seeing her finish the course? Or did she drop out?
-
I can remember Irene being a mature student, but I don't remember what she was studying. I don't even remember her finishing the course. I wonder if it was just suddenly dropped with no reference to it again.

I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but I've recently been reminded of a storyline that happened where a supply teacher came and for whatever reason, the students took a big dislike to him, ending up with them gluing him to his chair. I can't remember all the details, but I do remember feeling really sorry for the teacher, particularly when Don Fisher found him stuck and I'm sure he was in tears. It seemed like they were picking on him when he was just trying to do his job and taking offence to him disciplining them. What was the name of this teacher? What did he do to make them dislike him so much? Did the students end up regretting what they did?

I know that there were scenes where there were a couple of disagreements, but I don't remember them being anything major. If I remember correctly, they were only little things that got dealt with pretty quickly, such as each person in the relationship needing to compromise. I'm sure the vast majority of the time, they were seen to be a happy, stable couple. With Simone, the only reason she came to the Bay was to get close to Brody, who she had seen on Leah's vlogs and fallen in love with. After thinking about it over time, I think Brody without realising it, swapped one addiction for another, particularly after Simone kept paying him compliment after compliment, spending more and more time with him and even putting on his chef outfit. I think his addiction problems meant that because it was very clear that Simone was in love with him, Brody couldn't stop himself, which was why when the truth was out, he seemed to have no problems in almost flaunting his relationship with her and moving her in to the Morgans' house without asking permission from the others. If his relationship with Ziggy was intense, you could say that his relationship with Simone was even more intense. I know that people probably won't agree with me here, but I'd like him to return one day, (although not permanently), having split from Simone, admitting that he was with her because he'd swapped one addiction for another and realised as a result that their relationship wasn't healthy, and has had help with his problems. I think it would help to repair his character somewhat.

To be fair, people couldn't see Brody cheating either. Although I can't see them having Dean cheat on Ziggy because it's clear that they want them to be the show's next supercouple. I still think that Brody and Ziggy were the better, more suited couple that would have probably stayed together for the rest of their lives if they hadn't changed Brody's character. Maybe that's why so many people disliked him doing that, as there were so many comments about how he would never have cheated on her.

From her introduction, I have a feeling that she's going to be the new Billie. They were both introduced as the missing younger sibling of an already existing character, who is or has been in trouble with the law.

What about when she said "you can't kill me, you don't have the guts"?
-
And when did she say, "You can't kill me, you don't have the guts"? Would it have been during 2003 when Alf was "seeing" her because of his brain tumour? Or would it have been during her breakdown in 1999 when she thought Alf wanted her dead after the car accident and she vowed to make his life as miserable as possible in revenge?

Olivia Fraser Richards - Raechelle Banno
Jamie! replied to dontletmego's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I think it's a shame that we didn't see Diana Fraser again. The final time we saw her was in 2005 when she told Irene, "You haven't seen the last of me", when in actual fact, that was the last we saw of her. Knowing Diana, she would have done what she could to get back in Olivia's life when she returned to Summer Bay. But there was sadly nothing. -
I also said the exact same thing here: https://www.backtothebay.net/forum/topic/48089-cornelia-frances-has-died/?page=3&tab=comments#comment-1425346

I've just watched it and I loved the Bobby's theme at the end. It was very moving and very fitting to include it, seeing as how Morag was of course, Bobby's mother.

I can't watch this link in my country any more, (and haven't for a while now). I would love to see it again, particularly after today's sad news.

I prefer Debra's Pippa because this was the Pippa I can remember watching growing up. I see both Pippas being very caring and maternal, with Vanessa's Pippa being "cooler" and for want of a better expression, "down with the kids", and Debra's Pippa being like an earth mother and very mumsy, even down to the floral dresses she always wore. If I was a character on the show and I was upset about something and I wanted to confide in someone, it would be Debra's Pippa. I think she gives off the most warmth, so I'm surprised to hear that some people think that she could be cold.
