Yeah, the one thing that bugged me about Dani was that she did seem to get every storyline really.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Take Henry, for example. After he left it was like Mattie didn't even have a twin brother. Granted, he wasn't the most exciting character on the show ever - far from it IMO - but a mention here or there would've been nice, wouldn't it? . This is somewhat true. For example how often does Rachel mention Brad (or even Tam for that matter)? Since Dan’s funeral last year has Belle ever gone down to the city to visit Amanda? And don’t even get me started with Kirsty. However I don’t think they are entirely consistent when they do this. Just recently Miles got a text message from Sally saying that Cassie had a baby girl who was HIV negative. I think Ric said he was going to the city to meet up with Drew one time (I think he actually lied because he was going to fight but that is beside the point). During Dom’s fixation with Belle, when he went for a job interview in the city, Irene knew he deliberately performed badly because Finn sent her a video tape. She mentioned this to him afterwards. However I think there is a much wider problem. And that is for a small town I feel the characters aren’t integrated with each other sufficiently. Although they all know each other how many people actually have friends outside their jobs/relationships. Jack, Belle, Roman, Aden, Angelo, Charlie etc. We hardly ever see any of these people socialise. If you take Holy Oaks for example a lot more of the characters spend time with each other outside school/college/work. Perhaps the writers think that is not really required. Anyway, I digress…. It's a fair point, some people are still mentioned, but not often. No-one in Summer Bay ever seems to make their relatives funerals once they leave the soap. That to me's a bit unrealistic. But if that's how it's written so shall it be. Hollyoaks is quite different anyway, as they have possibly a lot more areas and cast members to use for social activity & the Hollyoaks writers have made them sociable with eachother. Hollyoaks is also one soap I do find more believable because at least with them, a majority of the time you have relatives return for weddings/funerals.. or they at least get mentioned. Although as you've stated, some people will be mentioned. I didn't realise Miles had heard from Sally about Cassie's baby yay to a healthy baby.. I actually missed the episode when Cassie left, But I was sure she was pregnant. Back to the point.. Jade, I think her exit did suck a bit. Her character deserved a bit more of an exit. I was annoyed about Nick and Jade breaking up too! I thought Nick & Jade were an amazing item. But oh well. Neither of them are in it anymore

because that would be disastrous and I would despise him so much. Oh damn! I clearly missed some stuff or am way behind on H&A, I didn't know him and Charlie broke up. Especially because of Martha!! Hopefully he doesn't get back with Martha though, that would annoy me. I thought Roman and Charlie suited well. All that aside though, his character has grown on me, I wasn't bothered about him at first.. but after the episodes on the island etc. and that whole "Rambo" thing, he really grew on me. And I think his fatherly side has really made him a better character.

So has Christie joined up with the soap again for good? Because I remember hearing a while back that Kirsty was only going to be in the show temporarily ? If Sam's said he doesn't want to go back full-time then that could cause complications because the writers would have to make something work so Kirsty stays and Kane doesn't which could mean Kane has to die. But, I really can't stand the idea of Miles and Kirsty. I'm sorry but seeing them makes me a bit off. It could be due to me spending years rooting for KK from the moment their love first blossomed.. but also I just don't see how someone like Kirsty and someone like Miles come together.. but hey, it's a soap, hopefully Kirsty & Miles will break up at some point I can dream can't I? Of course... If KK reunites and stays strong I'm as happy as ever!

I wouldn't either, there are some friendship groups that remain undamaged by lust. And Aden & Nicole are perfect as friends. I'd also hate it if Geoff run off with Mel and not Nicole I just am not too keen on G/M scenes. I do love Nicole though, I've always liked her since she arrived. I like the way her character has been able to change a lot. And experienced a lot of fun storylines in a space of just a few months.

Mixed feelings on this one. Tammin was an amazing actress! But with Dani herself, it was a case of.. loved her at first, wasn't too keen at the end of her time there. The start of Dani Sutherland's days in the bay were her best ones I think. I loved the Dani/Will story... I thought they went amazingly well together & I loved how he was always trying to get her attention to begin with (anyone remember that scene when he walks through the caravan park with his surfboard and he's smiling at her, but she just shoots him a funny look so he turns his head in a humiliated way and carries on walking - CLASSIC!) and then eventually she gives in, they had some very funny arguements too which always amused me. And I think they gel a lot more then Dani did with anybody else. And that Will naked in the cupboard scene was just unbeatable!!!! I didn't like the rape storyline. They never went into any relevant detail about it and I think it could have gone a lot better. But that's just my opinion. I loved the Will/Gypsy/Dani story the most, as it was hard for all three of them, I felt bad that Will chose Gyps though! I really wanted Will and Dani to work. But they wanted to leave the show so what can ya do? And I suppose Dani's character would have just been held back. I did enjoy the prison storyline, and when Dani was the one tied up alone in the kitchen while the others were hostage was quite good too. I didn't like Scott & Dani as a couple. I never did really, I didn't take too well to Josh either. But maybe, after Will Dani just couldnt find anyone better. I didn't think Scott meshed with Dani well enough. And I was quite pleased Scott stated she loved herself more then anyone else, because her character had turned out that way in the end. Then it paved the way for Scott & Hayley But in general, Despite whether Dani was cool or annoying, Tammin Sursok played her very well!

I totally agree, of all ways you could write someone out. Would have been more believable if they killed her off or something, or anything that wouldn't have made the writers of the show look like they can't remember a character's background. I am not trying to insult the writers in any way possible.. but it just seems that sometimes they forget what they've done with characters in the past. Like you say, how can Kirsty have a genetic psychic bond with her twin sister.. if she's not her real sister, maybe H&A had changed the writers before the Degroot story line & didn't look back into the 2000 Landslide story, I don't know. But again, Continuity error. I also find it a tad weird that Jade was never mentioned, I heard Kate Garven lives in England now which may be why she never reappears in the show but you know.. a mention from Kit or anybody wouldn't hurt. Even a scene with Kirsty on the phone would be good enough. That's one thing I never get about soaps in general, as soon as someone leaves it's like they never existed. Maybe it's just a secret rule?

I missed a couple of episodes, What formal is Geoff taking Melody to? I feel like I've missed something.. I've just watched the one with the Halloween party, where Geoff has said he loves Nicole. Was the formal before or after this?
