I think if Pippa had stayed I think we wouldn’t have had Joel and Natalie and Tom and Gypsy would just have been brought in as new foster children for Pippa. I think Pippa would not tolerate the Colleen and Gypsy feud or Colleen's interference so I think it could have been interesting seeing how Pippa would deal with Colleen had Pippa been around when Colleen returned and move into Lance mobile home. I could definitely see Pippa taking on Shelley Sutherland's storyline’s such as running the drop-in centre. With Christopher Fletcher being at high school age by 2000 and I say Christopher could be played by Christopher Egan and would had Nick Smith storyline’s instead . I say Irene would remain working at Diner if Pippa still stayed working at school and become part owner with Alf after Ailsa dies or maybe when Diner revamped Ailsa decides to become business partners with Irene then as after all by then Ailsa should know Irene would be reliable business partner . I understand Ailsa not wanting to become business partners with Irene at first since she was only started to recover from her alcoholism problem but after being sober for years by then it show you should be trust worthy enough to be business partner with.

Paul and Leon fought Ari and Tane in there front yard when they were arrested and Colby bought them back to police and Colby try meeting Ari half way but he refused to tell truth about fight . Also Irene was very reluctant in giving Gemma job in diner and only said yes to make Marilyn happy after Marilyn was on her back .

I know they had no connection to Braxtons or River boys but Ari/Tane and Nikau as new generation of river boys and lot town started out against them expressing Colby and John. But to be fair they certainly were no saints at first and John I guest felt Ari was partly responsible on what caused his marriage breakdown to Marilyn and they refused to tell Colby why they had people after them and Colby did give them opportunity to tell him truth on those guys who after them but they refused to come clean .

I can’t help but wonder if Debra Lawrence felt that her character run had her course as it would felt like deja vu when Ian arrived. She'd thinking all know they are going to marry me off with him and kill him in a few years later in the next Summer Bay disaster. I actually can't imagine Pippa in more dramatic eras of H&A and certainly can't imagine Pippa in Irene storyline’s if Irene left instead. But who knows maybe if Pippa stayed show might not move into such dramatic direction so soon. Debra herself said she understands why stories had be more dramatic as know one wants to watch anything too simple at 7pm anymore.

I actually prefer Colby and Dean as characters than Brax and Heath. Even though we never saw Colby as a River Boy but for most of Colby's time on the show it was hard to imagine he was once a River Boy until he started losing control when investigation over killing Nixon started and giving he didn’t have criminal record when first started on show he could not off done anything to overlying criminality. It’s shame they did not do storyline with Colby instead when he was on show as would be more interesting if Colby had storyline instead of Cash and Colby temporarily being transferred to Mangrove River Police station and have him investigating River Boys since he was once river boy.

Rory just seemed like cheap version of Dean Thompson.

My choice for returns be Colby/Bella and Willow. I love to see Colby and Bella reunited together on screen again and also I think be interesting to see Colby and Willow in screen together again.

Even though I am glad it was just dream but I did think Justin and Claudia kissing was hot.

I wonder if Paula Forrest had not quit in 2002 and then Rhys and Shelley might stayed long term and took in teenagers after there children left or would they be axed in 2004 and they bring in new family to replace them.

If Ailsa had stayed alive til this day or at least still alive in 2018 they would never bought back Martha from dead and in fact I think they would never bought back Roo in 2010 if Ailsa was still around in 2010 as Roo basically just be around so Alf has family member to support him and if they had Ailsa around to fit bill they wouldn’t really need recast Roo. I think even if Sally had stayed they wouldn’t bought back Roo as Sally would easily continue on as Alf surrogate daughter .

I don’t why Tane and Cash are so popular as both most overbearing characters on show.

So this leaves Alf/Marilyn/Cash/Flick and Tane .

I really liked Floss's character. She had great warmth about her but I can understand why Colleen and Celia were better fitted characters. They brought something different to the show as we already had Pippa and Ailsa as warm motherly characters. Celia and Colleen could bring more comedy, also Celia and Colleen could stir up trouble with their gossiping about people. Celia and Colleen could be quite nasty at times. I think Celia's character had more room for development and had potential but Fiona Space decided to leave. If Fiona Space had stayed long term I think Celia would have had mostly Colleen's storyline’s and eventually work in the diner like Colleen. I'd say Colleen probably wouldn’t be brought back as a regular if Celia had stuck around.

Not too surprised Beth Hunter is at the lower end of votes, as she's been gone a long time now and in her last year she really was just a background character other then supporting Matilda though her burns. She was on holidays a lot longer then she should been as when she left to go overseas in January 2007 she said she was going for a month and ended up being gone for nearly four months until she was killed off screen. She was barely mentioned while she was gone too and I didn’t like how they gave her an off screen death. I do think I like Beth the best out of the mum characters that came after Pippa.

In my opinion in recent years 2016-2018 after Braxton and after super dramatic 2015 season of Charlotte. I actually thought Charlotte King was a better character and storyline than Angie Russell as Charlotte was more realistic in her badness. Whereas Angie was mentally unstable and Charlotte was just a genuinely bad person with self awareness. Back to question the reason why chose I 2016-2018 as in 2016 we had balance with Morgan family in witness protection and Astoni family arriving as normal nuclear family in 2017. We had storyline’s that brought the community together like beach volleyball for charity and we saw great development with characters like Matt/Hunter/Evie/Phoebe.

I understand Pippa needed income after Michael death but when she started working at the school as school administrator I wonder how she got that job as she wasn’t really qualified in that field of work. They really did turn Pippa into super woman working at the school and running the caravan park while looking after 5 children. I wonder why Pippa just didn’t start work at the diner at least then her hours would be more flexible. Working in the diner suits her skills more .

Matt Page- bad boy high school bullying teenager til responsible young man taking care of his troubled younger sister and becoming very kind and reliable young man. Irene Roberts -Her growing from abusing parent to one of best parents in bay and respectfully member of community.
