  1. Hey there Jackie. How is everything?
  2. Hey Pam. Congratulations on the completion of your exams! You must be rapt they are all out of the way so that you can enjoy yourself!
  3. About to retire for the night!
  4. By Jackie, I'm sure you will look lovely when you come out! My mum has gone to get me some macca's while I watch Home and Away, I haven't had that in ages!
  5. Somewhat healthy. It depends how you eat them! I personally like them cooked, but not fried. And I love the seafood sauce!
  6. You do that then! Love my prawns! If they weren't so damn expensive, I'd eat them everyday!
  7. No idea, but the best prawns come from Queensland! They are so big and probably the nicest I have ever had! And I LOVE prawns! We are so backwards in Australia, everything we do is weird!
  8. No, Good Friday, most people won't eat meat, so prawns are big sellers! Easter time, it starts to cool down considerably, so no, we do have easter eggs!
  9. We are more like that with gifts than anything. But our biggest prawn sellers are for Christmas and Good Friday! And the occasional cold leg of ham for Chrissy!
  10. In Australia, prawns are the norm! We do have roast turkey, but it is served cold, as we usually don't eat hot foods on boiling hot days!
  11. With me, it is completely opposite. I couldn't imagine not having Christmas lunch with prawns and a decent barbeque! I love how I could go to the beach for Christmas and stay out real late and drink in lovely weather, such as New Years Eve!
  12. Definitely! That is something I don't wanna think about! I feel the cold way too easily, that's why one day I want to migrate to Queensland!
  13. Yeah, but that's Brisbane, In Melbourne, where I am, it ranges between 5-19 degrees! To me, that is freezing! I couldn't survive winter up there!
  14. Brisbane is totally different to Melbourne though. In Brisbane, it is the humidity that kills you in Summer. Melbourne, however, is more of a dry heat, much like a fan-forced oven. So you could imagine how hot 40 degrees celcius is, you walk outside and you literally feel like you are in in oven! In Brisbane though, it rarely gets above 38, it's more the humidity. When I went to Hervey Bay (3 hour trip north of Brisbane), I stepped on the plane in Melbourne and it was nice and calm. Got off the plane at Hervey Bay, humidity hit me like a ton of bricks! Winter in Brisbane is quite mild, more similar to a very mild summer, it would range between the 20-27 degree mark. Once you live there for a while, you get used to it. I was in Brissie for two weeks, and was used to it within a week. You'd be more comfortable in Melbourne, as it is the second coldest city in Australia, and I get a lot of people from England complain about the heat, and it would only be 20 degrees!
  15. Well, we don't get snow like you guys do at ground level, it only happens once in a blue moon. On New Years Eve (our Summer)in Melbourne it got to 45 degrees celcius, and the temp didn't go below 38 all evening! That was a stinker! We do get colder than Sydney though, today was only 14 degrees, but it has been known to get to 2 degrees during the day. It mainly happens on the mountains, or the ski resorts.
  16. Love Summer, but cannot stand Winter! For me it is easier to cool down than to heat up! At the moment I am sitting in front of the fire, and I am still freezing! Bring on Summer to Australia!
  17. Goodnight people! I'm off to bed....it is 11pm in Melbourne, and I have work tomorrow (have to get up at 6:30am).
  18. Goodnight! I'm not far off myself.
  19. I'm here for about 10 minutes before I retire to bed...I have work tomorrow.
  20. ^It's not the Phillips Savvy is it?? Cos that was a cool phone! I need to have a lot more posts to join the Golden Oldies, I only qualify as an oldie because I have been here over 12 months!
  21. thanks! I got it off a site I frequent often. It is an Australian Weather site. Weatherzone.com.au, in the forums section. People post all their weather photos and some of them are absolutely amazing!
  22. ^ yeah, the best thing to come out of nature!
  23. I'll post some more if I find more. I am a sucker BIG time for a good Lightning piccy! *edit: found another good one.... Clicky!
  24. That's a pretty good lightning photo! They are very hard to catch though! I bought a video camera for the purposes of capturing lightning. Here is one that is in my Hard drive, I cannot remember where I got this from...
