Thanks guys for the advice, I managed to sort it out myself (I'm a bit behind in all this whiz bang technology he he)....Cheers!!

The full error message is "Suitable permissions had not been enabled on the "uploads" directory. Contact board administration" I have a feeling I'm going about this in all the wrong way!!

This may seem like a stupid question but I'll ask anyway.........I have loads of scans from Smash Hits mags (Aus) and I wish to upload them but when I do it comes up with an error about not having suitable permission.....I emailed Board Admin and yet to hear a reply...............can anyone help please???
