I feel embarrassed for the entire molfie storyline, and how it ends is absolutely ridiculous. Kat and Alfie in 2003 were a great pairing, everyone dubbing them the new Den and Angie, now episodes with them featuring have become senseless. For what it is, I don't think the triangle is scripter very well, and the concept is dire. Why is Shane Richie so adament the viewers love him and Little Mo? I cringe when they're together. Isn't Jake Moon coming back? He could look after Nana, but it wouldn't be very convincing and her gone frees him up for other storylines. Nana just seems to sit in the house all day, she doesn't have any 'real' storylines like other elders around the Square.

I never liked the Mitchells at all. We can expect more of the same as the early 90s - brawls between the brothers usually over a woman, dodging the law, Peggy's endless 'family loyalty' sentiments. I can't see where they're going to take these characters, especially considering they seem totally out of place with most of the new cast. I'm betting on some kind of tiff with Johnny Allen, but I've heard Bill Murray wants out of the show too.

Eastenders is going to go from bad to worse. I find it hard to believe the decision for Kat to leave is mutual - they should be clinging onto her with both hands since she's one of few decent characters left on the show. As for the Mitchells coming back - give me a break. They're hoping that as soon as Peggy walks through the Queen Vic doors the ratings will go through the roof. When will they realise that bringing back characters from its glory days will only add to the 'desperation' level they've reached to bring the show back from the gutter? The thing I most have a problem with are the poor scripts, tiresome storylines and camera work which is getting worse and more needlessly experimental. Those problems will still be there even if 'everyone's favourite family' the Mitchells are in the cast.

Ah, it was Gus I meant! Shows how important he is to the show. The only time I see him he's collecting rubbish around the square. I completely agree about the Mitchells. They don't know how to improve the show by developing it so they go back to who they know worked in the past - but times have changed, and I never liked them in the first place either. Can't stand all this "get out of my pub! We're Mitchells, we stick together" crap. Eastenders reference the past too much. Do we go an episode without hearing about Arthur, Arthur's bench, Lou Beale, the coronation or "how families are meant to be, back when Arthur was alive". I find them trying to make Johnny and Pat have a history we never saw embarrassing, too.

I misread the brothers' affection before I even knew he was gay, but you're right, he really doesn't help himself with how camp he comes across on the show. Last night they were over-playing the "he's just like a child!" thing again. They've not really developed that story, all we've had is Jake saying he's always picking up after him and it all seems like a, 'Of Mice & Men: George and Lenny' relationship. Would have been better if they'd given us more background on it. I agree, Gary and Minty are awful. They remind me of the kind of pointless characters they have on Coronation Street whose only scenes seem to be in the pub on a lunch break with each other, like Sean. They're totally pointless. And, although he's hardly on it, and because he's hardly on it, Juley??

I used to really like Sharon and Dennis, but since they've come back everything they've done seems really forced - the scriptwriters are trying too hard to make work something that does naturally. Danny and Jake I sometimes like but more often don't. I couldn't shake the thought for months that they seemed more like lovers than brothers, but that's a whole other story.

I can't believe they're getting rid of Chrissie. I'd have thought they'd twist the plot so that Chrissie frames Sam and Zoe, who have already left/are leaving, so she can stay in the show. I was under the impression she would be staying for a while yet. Ruby comes back next week I think.

I've stayed with Eastenders up until recently. There've been some really poor episodes lately, including the other night when Danny ran out of the club crying. The biggest embarrassement of all was the montage the other week when Zoe was explaining the events that unfolded leading to them killing Den. Some people commented it was well filmed, but I thought it was awful and tacky. If I watch any more episodes, it'll just be for Stacey and Ruby, when she returns.
