  1. I had a movie night last night and it blew my mind 1. A Perfect Getaway: Chris Hemsworth as a gruff, shirtless, hippie-man with a deathly glare and a bad attitude. He wasn't in it as much as I'd like (don't let the trailer fool you!) but it was still worth it. The movie itself was entertaining and intriguing. Pretty good twist too. One of those ones that you kind of see coming, but then the movie talks you out of believing that it's coming, but then it comes! I was impressed. Good cast too. 2. Gamer: Wow. I just... wow. The movie as a whole wasn't THAT great, but there are certain moments in it that... wow. I'm still not sure if I saw what I saw or if I had some kind of a stroke and it was all a coma fantasy. I wanted to see it because it stars Michael C. Hall (TV's Dexter!) as an eccentric billionaire. I was NOT disappointed! And there was a cameo by another TV personality that... I don't even want to describe because it was such a bizarre moment that I don't think you'd believe me if I tried. Did that REALLY happen... really... ? 3. The Nightman Cometh:Live!: Okay so this isn't technically a movie, but it was awesome and epic and the whole Nightman experience probably rounds out to be a movie-length event so I'm counting it! If you don't watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (and you're over 15... and have a very loose grasp on morality...) you should! The Nightman Cometh: Live! is a DVD extra on season 4 in which the cast recreate an episode of the show as a live theater production, on account of how the episode is about Charlie writing a musical ("The Nightman Cometh") and the rest of the gang perform it. It. Is. AWESOME! When watching Philly, one often asks oneself how in the hell they can do these things, knowing that it's all going to be on international TV. This was on a whole other level - doing it in front of a live audience, and nailing every scene with an unbelievable... awesomeness. I don't even want to say what the play is about, or how the gang chooses to interpret certain rape scenes... it's just... so, so awesome... I don't care if you ever watch another episode of Philly in your life, but you HAVE to see this! 4. Forgetting Sarah Marshall: It's unfair on this movie that I watched it after all the others, because it was really funny and I'm so glad I FINALLY saw it, but after everything else it kinda pales in comparison. It was still very enjoyable though and the supporting cast was full of fun surprises. The main cast was of course excellent, and that's why I wanted to see it in the first place. I would certainly recommend it. And if nothing else, now nobody can say that I haven't seen Jason Segel's wang. And now I leave you with the inspirational lyrics of from The Nightman Cometh: Dayman! (AhAHah!) Fighter of the Nightman! (AhAHah!) Champion of the sun! (AhAHah!) You're a master of karate And friendship for everyone! I think there's something in that for all of us.
  2. A Perfect Getaway starring Chris Hemsworth was apparently released in Australia in January. Nice to be told these things! He looks sinister, yet... innocent...-_o? I'm gonna see if I can find it on the weekend.
  3. I second all of that. And would like to add, if he sings (or screams...) to Leah, I will just DIE! (That is if Jay doesn't kill me first for posting that clip )
  4. I took down my giant Robbie and Kim poster . It was an enlarged print off the computer, nine A4 pages stickytaped together, and I put it up near a window so the wind has been getting under it and lifting the pages apart and it's been getting pretty ratty. I told myself that it's time to grow up and move on and accept that it's over - Chris is becoming a huge success in the US and he's never coming back. *Cries!* I still have some hope that Jason will come back, although I'm sure he doesn't need to. He just might take pity on me after all the begging I've done over the years... But even if he does, and even though it would be awesome, it wouldn't be quite the same without Kim . Anyway... after taking such a huge step and taking down the poster... I realised that the painting I put up in it's place includes a back-view of Palm Beach. I honestly didn't even think about it being "Summer Bay" when I made the switch but... I guess I'm not as ready to move on as I thought To that end, I've been trying to find the picture that I used for my poster for ages, but I can't. I think I have a copy of it on a floppy disk somewhere, but that's not much good to me in this new age of flash drives and... um... other technological stuff... The picture is of Kim and Robbie (well, Chris and Jason) standing in front of some kind of wire-mesh cage, and Robbie's leaning back on it, and Kim's behind him, and Kim's hand is near a padlock and chain, like he's toying with the idea of keeping Robbie locked up in there forever so he can keep him all to himself... I... may be reading into it a little too much... ... Anyway, I'd like to find it online again because I may want to make a new poster of it in the future
  5. I know! I saw that credit last night and was all "AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! :D " Jason's character will probably be killed swiftly and horribly, but oh well. I'll take what I can get! Perhaps Chris' character will go on a mission to avenge his death
  6. Romulus, My Father. ... Does anyone know what that movie was about ?? I kept blinking and missing things, and there was never any explanation of what had happened, what was happening now, and what might happen later on. I was so lost and confused throughout the entire movie. I *think* it was good... ?

    Glee

Congrats to Glee on the GG! I can't believe Sue got nominated! That's awesome !
  8. Oyster Farmer. It was... just terrible. I grew up on the Hawkseburry River so I felt obligated to watch it, so to that end, the scenery was nice. I don't remember quite so many guns and dilapidated hovels though. Sure there were a few hovels but... I'm sure some people had nice houses...
  9. Lightning. Lot's of lightning. I want to hide under the futon with the cats
  10. Oh. I love most of the 89-99 movies from start to finish... Oh
  11. You do mean recent Disney movies, yes o_o?
  12. Avatar. It was technically brilliant and I really liked the lead actress, but the movie didn't do much for me overall. I'm just not that into war movies, even fantasy ones. It had some nice messages about nature though. I just wish they weren't so graphic about "connecting" to it... *shudder* >_<
  13. Great interview, thanks for posting. Jase is so funny . I hope he comes back to H&A. I love my Robbie And you KNOW he was just saying that he likes Casey better cause it was a Power Rangers fan asking him
  14. Pan's Labyrinth. I forgot how graphically violent it was...
  15. Firestarter. I read the book recently and the movie was so faithful to it (save for a few wise time-saving choices in the plot) that it was kind of a surreal experience. Things were happening exactly as I pictured them when I was reading. It was pretty cool! I would have liked them to focus more on Charlie's relationship to the animals because I liked that about the book. I guess it wasn't really important to the overall story so I don't really mind that they cut it out. I'm annoyed that I missed the start of it though. Heather Locklear was in it but I missed her

    Glee

I got both the CDs for Christmas . If anyone heard someone blasting "Don't Stop Believin'" at 11am this morning, that might have been me
  17. Cemetery Gates. It was a Sci-Fi Channel original! Which probably says enough about the quality of it... Well, it's still fun to be able to watch whatever I want on Foxtel while my parents are away.
  18. I'm watching The Breakfast Club on Seven right now. Yay! I bought it on DVD a while ago but haven't got around to watching it yet (I've seen it heaps of times before though), so this is pretty convenient I know it's an 80s cliche but I love it
  19. Where The Wild Things Are. I think it was a boy movie. I didn't really get it. Well, I got it, but I didn't really enjoy it. It had it's moments. I liked the goat...
  20. Tears of the Sun. Bruce Willis was in it. That's about as much information as I absorbed. I got distracted by thinking about X-men cartoons... and thinking of how much better the movie would be if Rambo was in it. Rambo AND Die Hard, and my friend suggested Sigourney Weaver's character from Aliens too. You know you'd watch it. In conclusion, I have no business watching war movies. Unless the tragedy is interspersed with snappy one-liners. Tears of the Sun did not have snappy one-liners In fact, the writing was just... just terrible.
  21. King Kong. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. I didn't realise that they were going to take so long building up the characters and relationships before they got to the monkey. Since I'm not a huge fan of CGI being the focal point of a live-action movie, that worked for me, but I have to say, the CGI was very good, and I did believe in King Kong as a "real" character. Nice work. I also liked Jack Black's obsessive disregard for the lives of others. That was fun
  22. Coraline. It was good but it was scary
  23. Zombieland! Despite watching A LOT of zombie related things lately, I'm not that into zombies. I prefer vampires and werewolves and such. However. Zombieland was AWESOME! It was sooo frickin' hilarious. If you can stand the obligatory zombie gore, I'd recommend it to comedy fans over horror fans, and lucky for me, I'm a comedy fan My favourite line was (not really a plot spoiler, but it was so random that I don't want to wreck it for people who don't wanna see it coming) Hah! Oh man, everyone should see this movie. If you're underage, LIE to get in! (But you didn't hear that from me! )
  24. ^It made me want a rat so much! But then, I always want a rat... *sigh.*
