Woo Hoo 9 Early Years Episodes in one week :D It's great they are doing that, I was sure they would just leave it running with the episodes on the wrong days. Maybe they do care somewhat about the show! Even though Morag's (probably) my favourite character, I have almost no memory at all of her 1993 stint, so I'm really looking forward to catching up on these episodes.

She has a husband, with whom she's had children, so I don't think so, no.
-
I know there are mentions of Gloria in future episodes so I assume they make friends, even if just off-screen. Anyone else noticed "Selina" - Tempany Deckert hanging around as an extra in the surf club recently?
-
^Is that in all regions?

I personally think she was killed instantly after the boat ran into the log There was no pulse and she wasn't breathing when they found her. I don't know how these things work but unless she got a pulse back in the ambulance or something, I don't know why she was put on a ventilator and not just pronounced dead?

I don't know why they felt the need to keep Sally out of the storyline. A bit strange! Also - rose tinted glasses much? Making out that Bobby started half the diner when she was 19? Bobby didn't have a penny to her name. Ailsa started the Diner and paid for everything and simply gave Bobby half. Credit where it's due though, she made a go of it!

Oh sorry, silly me. Yes I agree they are overdue a return.
-
No - the guy who plays Luke previously played an old army friend of Ben (Carly's husband). Dieter Brummer (Shane) previously appeared as a different character in the school as well. And I'm sure there have been others.

Irene isn't in the show at the moment but Finlay and Damien are!
-
It's true! Although compared to 2011 she was still pretty harsh in 2001. But I agree, nowhere near her 1989 self.

The one good thing about Bobby's death!

I forgot to mention I cheered for Shane when he stood up to Donald about his behaviour. I was a bit annoyed that he was forced to apologise to be honest. What he said was true and it was time someone said it. It was just the way Shane said it that was a bit rude. But how often does Don shout at others? I was expecting Nick to tell Donald he agreed with what Shane said, but it seems Nick has gone back to sucking up Don's rear end after a brief moment of being on Shane and Angel's side. Did you notice Angel telling Donald "not all teenagers get pregnant"? I wonder if this was deliberate foreshadowing of her secret? Sarah's dad's farm didn't seem that far away when she first arrived.

The only reason they did the storyline was because Nicolle wanted to leave.

The "happy ending" for Bobby and Greg at the end of 1297 was very similar to the scene of Shane and Angel in bed together at the end of the episode before . Poor Bobby. Hate the idea of her struggling to swim to shore with an bashed skull and then collapsing. Kind of glad we didn't see that part.

Oh. My. God. Never noticed that before! I'm just catching up on the previous week. Poor Adam, finally getting his act together and we know how it ends for him Every mention of his boat (and there's been loads!) is like a stab in the stomach, a reminder of whats going to happen. Even though it was 20 years ago, and I KNOW what's coming up, I'm still watching with part of me hoping that something will change and that events will unfold differently lol - crazy!

Make the most of it because - probably the reason you don't remember it - Angel and Sally become ghosts to each other before long. It almost becomes a running joke that when Angel's in an episode, Sally isn't, and vice versa. Apart from Angel's wedding (and they didn't even talk to each other then) I can't remember them saying two words to each other after 1994.

Actually, she has two lines in her first scene. But I take the point that she was just there to use up her episodes.I did like her big sister scenes with Sally though. At least Fin has now got rid of her dreadful heavy fringe... Alas Fringe-lay (as I've seen her called) is no more. She looks much more mature now!
-
I always hoped that it was gonna be her who was the stalker. That's insane but I love it!
-
Of course Tug would be loyal to Bobby. She's always been there for him when no one else was. But he wasn't when he was living alone with Greg and Adam! That's the point lol.
-
^I think the point RR was making was that when Bobby took Sam and moved out, Tug and Greg lived together perfectly fine. Once Bobby moved back in and Greg left, suddenly Tug was all anti-Greg.
-
For the most part yes. There was just something about her gradual integration with the Bay (starting a business partnership with Alf, and slowly getting to know Pippa and Michael), that felt like it was going somewhere.
-
Awww Miss Molloy! I wish they had kept using her.
-
They kept Sam because he was cute and viewers loved him - simple! With Sally entering the awkward teenager phase, he was filling the role she originally had on the show. I'm also sad to see Laura go. I like that she decided to go and see her family, though it was all rather sudden. Nothing actually happened to convince her. Damian had been going on about it long enough, and then one chat with Pippa and she's off? Would have liked to see more of a catalyst for her change in character, but nice to see her get a happyish ending anyway. I have a theory they were testing Laura to be a new main character but decided to bring Irene back instead. In a way they would have had similar story arcs, trying to integrate with the community and better themselves.

So we finally (sort of) get the scene I was crying out for, with Bobby and Pippa, although it still felt very "on the surface" and didn't really explore Bobby's feelings much, at least we get that she is conflicted now. Surprisingly not missing Ailsa, I actually forgot she was away and it only just occurred to me she wasn't in this week's episodes. It's no surprise though. She hasn't exactly been getting the hard hitting gritty storylines for a while, and from memory she doesn't really serve much purpose for a couple of years until her breakdown in 1995 finally puts her back in the spotlight.
