  1. Episode 7 At midnight, Pam and Joanne get out of the taxi and walk over back over to Joanne’s house. Little do they know that Pippa is waiting for them. Pippa: WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU TWO BEEN? Pam: We were at Sarah’s house. Weren’t we Jo? Joanne: Yeah, we were. Pippa: Don’t give me that garbage. You went to that Peter Andre concert, didn’t you? And don’t say you didn’t because I saw both of you on live television dancing with him! Pam: How do you we were there? Pippa: Sally and Finlay were watching it on TV. Pam: That little snitch! Wait till I get my hands on her! Pippa: As for you Joanne, you should be ashamed of yourself. You knew Pam was grounded and I wouldn’t allow her to go to the city and you still did it anyway! Joanne: Sorry. Pippa: Pam get your suitcase. We’re going home. Pam: No! Pippa: Excuse me? Pam: I SAID NO!! Pippa: GET IN THAT CAR NOW!! *drags Pam into the car before driving back home* *When they get home, Pam throws her suitcase at Sally and Finlay* Pam: You pair of snitches!!! Thanks to you, I’m grounded for two weeks! Sally: I thought you were already grounded. *laughs with Finlay* *Pam doesn’t say anything and storms off to her bedroom* The next day, Daniella and August begin their first day at Summer Bay High School. Daniella: You nervous? August: Not really. Daniella: I can’t wait to meet some new people! I’m so excited! August: I’ll see you later sis. I have Maths. What about you? Daniella: English. I’ve have Miss Barlow. Ciao! *Daniella walks into Miss Barlow’s room* Daniella: Sorry I’m late. Sandra: That’s quite all right. *Daniella sits with Angel and Sarah* Pam: Why sit with the do-gooders for? Sarah: Shut up Pam! Pam: Go jump off a bridge! Angel: She doesn’t have to! Joanne: Angel, just fly away! Sandra: That’s enough! Now get back to your work! *The class returns to their work* When class is dismissed, Daniella is about to go to the canteen when Pam and Joanne approach her. Pam: Hey you. Come here. *Daniella goes over to Pam and Joanne* Daniella: Yes? Joanne: Hang out with us. Daniella: I don’t want to hang out with a bunch of smokers. I’m sorry. *walks off* Pam: What a snobby little tart! Joanne: She’ll learn the hard way. Karen has started work at Rhonda’s Hair Salon. So far, things haven’t gone so smoothly. Rhonda: Karen I understand that this is your first day of work and you are nervous. But Betty Fulwell’s hair will never be the same again. Karen: I’m sorry. I thought she wanted it permed. Rhonda: No, she didn’t. Karen: I’m sorry. Rhonda: I expect an improvement tomorrow otherwise I have no choice but to fire you. Karen: Okay. I understand *walks out* When Sam gets home from school, Bobby and Greg sit him down and tell him the news he’s been dreading to hear. Bobby: Sam. Your father and I have decided to get a divorce. Sam: NOOOO!!!!!! *breaks down in tears* Bobby: I’m so sorry. *hugs Sam* Greg: See what you did! Bobby: SHUT UP GREG!!!! JUST SHUT UP!!!! *Greg storms out of the house while Bobby continues to hug Sam* COMING SOON - Still reeling from her latest punishment, Pam sets Pippa’s bed on fire - Lynn goes to her sister’s funeral - Joanne gets caught smoking on the school grounds

  3. Episode 6 The next morning, Miss Molloy arrives at Irenes house with the new foster child. Miss Molloy: Irene. I would like you to meet Daniella Jacob. Irene: Hello love. Daniella: Hello. Miss Molloy: And did I mention that she has brought her brother with her? *A boy around 15 years-old walks inside* Miss Molloy: This is August. Irene: Hello. August: Sup. Miss Molloy: I might as well head back to the office. I hope the two of you enjoy living here. Daniella and August: We will! *Miss Molloy leaves* Daniella: Do you do hugs? Irene: Of course I do. *hugs both Daniella and August* At their house, Bobby and Greg have a heated argument. Bobby: WHY CANT YOU JUST ADMIT YOU SCREWED UP! Greg: BECAUSE IT WASNT MY FAULT Bobby: YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE ANY RESPONSIBILITY AROUND HERE DO YOU? Greg: I TAKE HUGE RESPONSIBILITY OF SAM WHO HAPPENS TO BE OUR FOSTER SON!! Bobby: YOU NEVER HELP ME AT ALL! YOU CANT EVEN WASH A DISH!! Greg: THEN WHY ARE YOU STILL MARRIED TO ME THEN? *Sam walks in* Sam: Why are you guys yelling? Bobby: Its okay Sam. Mum and Dad are just having a couples tiff. Greg: Dont be late for school son. Sam: I wont. Bye Dad. Bye Mum. *Sam shuts the door* Bobby: I want a divorce Greg! *Greg stands there in shocked silence* Greg: What?!? Bobby: Thats right Greg. Im divorcing you. *walks into their bedroom before slamming the door shut* At school, Damian is playing football with some of the boys when Finlay approaches him. Damian: What is it Fin? Finlay: Mums just fostered two kids from New Zealand. Damian: So? Finlay: So, shes replaced us. Damian: Thats silly. She still loves us. Finlay: I hope so. *hugs her brother* *Meanwhile, Pam and Joanne are walking to their lockers when they see Angel and Sarah walk past. Pam: Code red! Code red! Slags in the area! Angel: Very funny! Joanne: Go fly away Angel! Sarah: Youre both pathetic! *Pam slaps Sarah in the face* Pam: You wanna say that again bitch? *Pam slaps her again* Pam: Get out of here. Youre the pathetic one! Why dont you get your guardian angel to fly you away? Joanne: Good one Pam! *Both girls then laugh* When Pam gets home from school, she has a talk to Pippa. Pam: Joanne Brennan asked me to stay over at her place tonight. Were studying on our Biology. Pippa: Well, if its school work then I suppose you can. Pam: Yes! *runs up to her bedroom and packs a few clothes* Okay, Ill see you tomorrow arvo. Pippa: Bye. *Pam walks all the way to Joannes house. When she gets there, she sees Joanne in a taxi.* Joanne: Get in Pam! *Pam gets in the taxi which takes them to the Peter Andre concert* When they arrive in the city, Pam and Joanne go to the Sydney Entertainment Centre and meet up with two of Joannes friends Serena Davenport and Zoe Williams. Zoe: Hey Jo! Ready to smack this joint? Joanne: You bet I am! Serena: Once we get this concert is finished, we can crash back at my place. Joanne: Cant. Crash at my place instead! Serena: Okay. Fair enough. *A few hours later, Peter Andre is singing Lets Get It On due to be released later in the year. As he sings, he asks a few people if they want to dance with him* Peter: Who wants to dance? *Pam, Joanne, Serena and Zoe jump up on stage and start dancing with him, Peter commences singing while the four girl continue dancing.* Unfortunately for Pam, Pippa sees Sally and Finlay watching the concert on Prime Television and recognises Pam and Joanne dancing on stage with Peter! Pippa: That compulsive liar! *to Sally and Finlay* I want the two of you to go to bed once this has finished. Ill be over at Joannes house!   4. Episode 38 Later that evening, The girls are over at Alison and Jenny’s house talking about throwing a welcome home party for Rachael. Alison: It will be fun Rachael. Trust me. Rachael: Should we have a small gathering? Melissa: It’s up to you. Rachael: I only want my friends and family to be there. Sylvia: That’s okay with us. Rachael: I’ll see you at TAFE tomorrow. Bye. *walks out the front door* Alison: We’ll see you then. At the Oloaga’s house the next morning, Alex is still refusing to go to school (he fakes being sick). Christine: Why won’t you tell me what’s going on Alex? Alex: Nothing is going on Mum. I’m just sick. Christine: Are you sure? Alex: Yes Mum. I’m sure. *turns away from Christine* Christine: Okay. But I want you to go back to school on Monday. Alex: Fine. *When Christine walks out of his bedroom, Alex begins to cry. Jessica walks past his bedroom and hears him crying.* Jessica: Alex… Alex: Go to school Jess! I’ll be fine. *Jessica walks away sadly* When Jessica arrives at school, she is absolutely fuming. Alexis tries to find out what’s wrong Alexis: What’s wrong sis? Jessica: Alex won’t come to school and this morning I heard him crying his eyes out. Alexis: That’s awful love. Seriously, he didn’t mean to injure Seru. It was an accident. *Catherine walks over to them* Catherine: Hello girls. Alexis: Hello Catherine. *kiss each other on the cheek* *Jessica pretends not to hear Catherine* Catherine: I need to talk to you Jess. Jessica: I’m too busy at the moment. I’ll catch you later Alexis. Alexis: Bye. *Jessica walks away* Catherine: Is she still angry? Alexis: Don’t know. She sounded like it. Catherine: I just feel so bad. Alexis: Then why don’t you bloody apologise to her? Catherine: What do you think I was trying to do just then? Alexis: She’ll come around. Catherine: I hope so. *At the back oval, Riggot and a few other boys walk over to Jessica* Riggot: Sup Jessica! Jessica: Hey. Riggot: Where’s Alex been lately? Jessica: He’s been sick. Leon: It wasn’t his fault that Seru got injured. Seru: That’s right. Jessica: He think’s your all angry at him. Ben: Are you serious? No, we’re not angry at him. We’re actually worried about him. Tyson: When is he coming back? Jessica: Tomorrow maybe. Riggot: We’ll see him then. I’ll see you later. *walks off followed by the boys* Meanwhile at TAFE, Rachael is welcomed back into class with open arms. Roz: We have missed you so much Rachael. Rachael: I’ve missed you all too. *looks at Vicki* But I don’t think I know you. Vicki: *giggles* I only arrived this week. I’m Vicki Adams. *extends her hand to shake Rachael’s* Rachael: *takes the handshake* Rachael Manase. Kat: Rachael is one of our more popular students. Vicki: Cool. I’m starting to make friends myself. *laughs smugly* *From the back row, Erin thinks to herself.* Erin: *thinking* You will have no friends by lunchtime I can tell you that… Sure enough. During lunch, Erin grabs a microphone and starts to bear all. Erin: You know how Vicki Adams burned my cat alive? Well, that’s not all she did. She killed her own father! Alison: What is this?!? Erin: That’s right. She murdered her father and still walked free! *The students begin to mumble when Vicki stands up* Vicki: She’s right. I did murder my father. I was 18 when I killed him. Erin: Truth hurts doesn’t it Vicki? *Vicki doesn’t say anything but instead just runs away in tears.* Alison: Come on guys. Let’s go. *The students except Erin leave the lunchroom in shock and disgust* When Pamela Maddigan finds out about what just happened, she is not impressed with Erin. Pamela: HOW DARE YOU!!! DO YOU KNOW WHY SHE KILLED HER FATHER?!? DO YOU?!? Erin: No! Pamela: The man used to beat that girl black and blue. Obviously, you’re still bitter about what she did you your cat and saw this as a perfect chance for revenge. Erin: That is not true! Pamela: Spare me your excuses. You are suspended indefinitely! Get out of my sight! *Erin walks out Mrs Maddigan’s office and slams the door* At the same time, Vicki tells the whole class what her father did to her in her childhood. When she finishes, they all applaud her. Alison: That took a lot of courage girl. Rachael: Well done. Vicki: Thank you.   5. Episode 5 The next day, Pam tells Joanne about what happened between her and Pippa the night before. Pam: Then she's like "Oh, you're not going to the concert. You're going to be confined to your bedroom." Joanne: Bitch! She can't stop you from going to the concert which is tomorrow night. Pam: I'll just have to lie! Joanne: You can say that you're going to stay over at my place. Pam: Even better! *smiles* Meanwhile, a new student has arrived and is in Sally's class. Donald: I would like you to introduce you to your new class member. She comes from Yabbie Creek High. Please welcome, Hannah Francis. Hannah: Hi. *Some classmates say hello back* Donald: She’s all yours Miss Barlow. Sandra: Thanks Mr Fisher. *closes the door* Feel free to sit anywhere Hannah. *Hannah goes over to where Sally and her best friend Kate Desmond are sitting* Hannah: Can I sit here please? Sally: Feel free. *smiles* *Hannah sits down next to Sally* Kate: Want us to give you a tour at recess? Hannah: Sure. I’m just glad to have made some friends. Sandra: Okay class. We’ve only got ten minutes till the recess bell so I want you all to work on your literacy sheets. *The class groan* At recess, Pam and Joanne have a smoke at the back of the English department when they see Sally and Kate giving Hannah a tour of the school. Pam: There’s my snitch of a foster sister. Joanne: Wouldn’t even wipe me nose for MY sister! Pam: You have a sister? Joanne: Yeah, I do. Her name is Kylie. Popular and beautiful they call her. And what do they call me? A derelict! Pam: You’re beautiful too Jo. Joanne: Thanks. *puts out her smoke* Pam: Let’s wag English. Joanne: Good idea. Actually, we can wag Biology as well because we have that after English. Pam: Wanna smoke some pot? Joanne: I’ve always got a supply right in my purse. *hands the pot to Pam* Pam: Let’s rock this bitch! At the beach house, Irene is talking to Miss Molloy about fostering a child. Irene: You see Miss Molloy. I’ve always wanted to have a second chance with kids after the huge mess I made with Damian and Fin due to my alcoholism. Miss Molloy: I see your point Mrs Roberts. I’m willing to give you a second chance. Your new foster child will arrive first thing in the morning. Irene: Thank you so much Miss Molloy. I really appreciate it. Miss Molloy: Do you have enough accommodation for the child? Irene: I have five bedrooms. Only three are full. Miss Molloy: I’m glad. I’ll see you tomorrow. *walks out the back door* COMING SOON - Pam lies to Pippa saying that she’s spending the night at Joanne’s house when in fact they’re going to the Peter Andre concert. - Irene’s new foster child arrives - Bobby and Greg continue to have marital problems
  6. Episode 4 The next day during English, Sandra is trying to teach the class about their upcoming poem task when Pam once again causes trouble Pam: Do angels really fly Jo? Joanne: Yes they do. But the most unfortunate ones fall down below. Angel: Stop making fun of me! Sarah: Just ignore them Angel! Pam: Fly away Angel! Fly away Angel! Joanne: Yeah Angel! Just fly away! *Pam and Joanne continue to say 'fly away Angel' before Angel gets up and walks out of the classroom* Sandra: THE TWO OF YOU HAVE EARNED YOURSELF A DETENTION!! HOW DARE YOU BRING BULLYING INTO MY CLASSROOM!! Pam: GET THE F*** OVER IT!! Class: Ooooh.... Sandra: REPORT TO MR FISHER'S OFFICE!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU TOO BRENNAN!!! *Pam and Joanne walk out of the classroom but instead of going to Mr Fisher's officer they sneak out of school* After an hour, Joanne shows Pam a ticket. Pam: What's this? Joanne: It's a front row seat for Peter Andre's concert in the city. Pam: OMG!!! I love Peter Andre! He's so hot! Joanne: I know right. Will you go with me? Pam: Of course I will bestie! *hugs Joanne* Thanks so much! At Alf and Ailsa's house, they await to hear how Blake and Karen went at their job interviews. *Blake returns home* Alf: How did it go? Blake: Not good. I didn't get the job! Alf: Sorry to hear that mate. Blake: They wanted that 17 year-old apprentice instead. I've got more experience than he does. *Karen returns home* Karen: Guess what? I got the job! Ailsa: That's wonderful news Karen! Karen: I'll be working two days a week at Rhonda's Hair Salon. She's so lovely! Blake: Who? Karen: Rhonda! Blake: Yeah, great. *walks away* Karen: Is he okay? Ailsa: He's just a bit upset love. He didn't get the job at the auto mechanics. Karen: That's awful. I feel so bad now. Should I talk to him? Alf: I think it's best if you left things alone tonight. Karen: Okay. I'll talk to him tomorrow. After dinner that night, Pam and Pippa have a heated argument about the Peter Andre concert. Pippa: I'm sorry Pam. You're not going. Pam: Why not? Pippa: Because it's in the city at night and you're grounded after yesterday's outburst. Pam: Like that's going to stop me from going. I promised Joanne. Pippa: You should have thought of that before you had our outburst then. Pam: If Sally the snitch or Finlay the freak wanted to go, you'd let them! Pippa: I treat all my foster kids equally. Pam: Sure you do. I think you're a two-faced bitch just like Finlay. *walks upstairs* COMING SOON - Pam is determined to go to the Peter Andre concert - Sally makes friends with a new student in her class - Irene decides to foster a child
  7. Episode 3 Later that afternoon, Pam and Joanne have Biology but neither are doing any work. Pam: That Sarah Thompson is nothing but a complete loser. Don't you agree? Joanne: You bet I do! Miss Holmes: Why aren't we doing work ladies? Pam: We didn't come here to work. We came to socialise. Miss Holmes: I expect that work to be completed. Pam: Bite me! Miss Holmes: I beg your pardon? Joanne: She said "Bite me". Miss Holmes: I know what she said Joanne. *to Pam* And you can go straight to Mr Fisher's office. Pam: Kiss my a***! Miss Holmes: RIGHT! GET OUT!!! Pam: Who'd want to be in your stinking class anyway! *leaves the classroom followed by Joanne* Miss Holmes: If you leave my class Joanne, I'm putting you down for truancy. Joanne: *from outside the classroom* Don't care. *Once outside, Pam and Joanne start laughing* Pam: Did you see the look on that bitch's face? Joanne: I did. Priceless. Pam: I need another smoke. Wanna go to the beach? Joanne: Yeah. I'm done with this hell hole for one day. At the beach house, Lynn is on the phone to her mother. Lynn: Hi Mum. How are you? What? Calm down Mum. That's terrible. Do you want me to come over? I'll be over on Friday. Stay strong. I love you. Bye. *hangs up the phone* *Sandra walks through the front door* Sandra: I'm home! Lynn: Hey. How was your first day of teaching? Sandra: It was good except for this Year 11 class I'm teaching. One of the students Pam Wilson is so disrespectful and disruptive. I had to send her out of the classroom for her rude manner. *looks at Lynn* Are you okay? Lynn: Yes, I'm fine. *starts to cry* No, I'm not actually. Sandra: What's wrong? Lynn: My mother just phoned. Rae's been killed in a car accident. Sandra: Oh, I'm so sorry Lynn. *hugs Lynn* When did it happen? Lynn: This morning. She was driving along the expressway when she collided with a truck. When the ambulance arrived, Rae was already dead. Sandra: When's the funeral? Lynn: Friday at ten o'clock. Sandra: I wish I could be there for you. Lynn: It's all right. Me and Rae were very close. *wipes away her tears* *Irene walks in through the back door* Irene: Hello girls. *looks at Lynn* What's the matter love? Lynn: I just found out that my sister Rae died in a car accident this morning. Irene: I'm sorry love. *hugs Lynn* Sandra: Be strong Lynn. We'll always be there for you. Lynn: Thanks. When Pam arrives home, she finds Pippa waiting for her. Pippa: I want to talk to you Pam. Pam: Can't it wait until after dinner? Pippa: No it can't. Sit. *Pam sits down on the couch* Pippa: I just got a call from Miss Holmes and she says that you were being disrespectful to her and refusing to do your work. Pam: She's lying! Pippa: I don't think so. Pam: See? No one believes me! I bet you'd believe Sally the snitch! Pippa: That's enough Pam! Pam: No! It's never enough! *storms upstairs into her bedroom and slams the door* At their house, Bobby and Greg talk about having another baby Bobby: I really want to have a daughter Greg. Greg: I don't want to have a baby at the moment. Bobby: Why not? Greg: I'm too focused on my career. Bobby: What do you call my work at the Diner? Slave trade? Greg: Bobby, I've always wanted Sam to have a sibling but now is not a good time. Bobby: Fine. I understand *walks away and slams their bedroom door* Later on at dinner, the Fletchers talk about their day. Pippa: So, how was school? Finlay: It was great. Damian: I made the rugby team again. Pippa: That's good. What about you Sal? Sally: I got invited to sleep over at Kate Desmond's on Saturday night. Pam: You being invited on a sleepover? OH, PLEASE!!!! Pippa: Pam! Pam: Well, it's not my fault she's the most unpopular student at Summer Bay High. Sally: I hate you! *runs out of the room* Finlay: Nice going bitch! Pam: Shut your ugly face blondie! Finlay: MAKE ME! Pam: I'LL MAKE YOU! *dumps gravy all over Finlay's head* Pippa: Right Pam! To bed! Pam: You're kidding? I'm not bloody 2 years-old. Pippa: In this house, you follow my rules.   8. Episode 2 At 8 o'clock the next morning, Sandra is in Donald Fisher's office. Donald: It's so wonderful to see you again Sandra. I'm sure you'll be a great teacher. Sandra: Thanks Mr Fisher. Donald: Please call me Donald. Sandra: Okay...Donald. *smiles weakly* Donald: Here's your class list. *hands Sandra a piece of paper* Sandra: Thank you. Donald: If the students give you any hassles, come and see me. Sandra: Will do Donald. *smiles* At the Fletcher house, Pippa and her foster kids have breakfast. Pam: Do you have any Froot Loops? Pippa: I'm sorry Pam. We don't Pam: I want Froot Loops! Pippa: We don't have any. Pam: Better than eating this garbage *points to the bowl of porridge* Finlay: Don't be so selfish Pam! Pippa's doing the best she can. Pam: Shut up blondie! Finlay: Make me! Pippa: That's enough girls. I don't want you all to be late for school so I would best walk there now. *The foster kids leave the house and begin to walk to school* Sally: I'm looking forward to my classes this year. Damian: Really? I just hope you have the same friends as last year. Pam: Who are you kidding Damian? She has no friends. Sally: I do so! Pam: Really? Then why haven't you been invited to any sleepovers or parties. UNPOPULAR!!!! Finlay: Sally come walk with me. *glares at Pam before leaving with Sally and Damian* Pam: *shouting* And I'm supposed to walk to school myself am I? At Alf and Ailsa's house, Blake Dean and his sister Karen are looking for jobs. Karen: Look at this? Hairdresser wanted at Rhonda's Hair Salon. Blake: I think you should go for it. Karen: You think so? I don't think they hire people with criminal records. Blake: I could speak to them for you. Karen: You would? Oh, thanks! *smiles* What job did you find? Blake: Auto mechanic. I'm going to apply for it this afternoon. Karen: I hope you get it. *smiles* Blake: I hope you get your job. Meanwhile at Summer Bay High, Sandra is teaching a Year 11 class. Unfortunately for her, Pam is in that class. Sandra: Now class, today we are going to practice writing our essays and I want you to... *Pam makes farting noises* Sandra: Stop that noise at once Miss Wilson. Pam: Whatever. Sandra: Sorry class. Now, as I was saying.... Pam: Miss Barlow smells like a rat! *A girl sitting in the back row giggles while rest of the class don't find this amusing* Angel Parrish: Some of us a trying to learn! Pam: Shut up goody two-shoes! Sandra: That's enough Pam! Leave this classroom at once! Pam: I'm not leaving! Sandra: I GAVE YOU AN ORDER NOW FOLLOW IT!!! Pam: Suit yourself then. *walks out of the room* Sarah Thompson: No wonder she hasn't got any friends! Sandra: The rest of you back to writing your essays. When the recess bell rings, Pam is outside having a smoke when Joanne Brennan (the girl that giggled in English) approaches her. Joanne: G'day. Pam: G'day yourself. Who are you? Joanne: I'm Joanne Brennan. Most people call me Jo. Pam: My name is Pamela Wilson. But most people call me Pam. Joanne: Have you got a ciggie? Pam: One left. *hands the smoke over to Joanne* Joanne: Where are you from? Pam: Who wants to know? Let's just say that I've been in more foster homes than any other tragic case in New South Wales. Brock: You bet. *gets his suitcase which is full of clothes* Alison: Being cooped up in hospital must drive you insane. Brock: Sometimes. But you know, the doctors do they hardest to help you recover Jenny: *to Alison* Will you be okay on your own? Alison: Of course Jen. I’ve looked after the house before. Jenny: I’ll only be gone for two weeks while Brock recovers. You make sure you study every single day. *smiles* Alison: I will. I have to go over to Sylvia’s shortly. She’s looking after the Varu kids. Jenny: Well that’s on the way. I’ll drop you. Alison: No thanks. I’ll catch the bus. Jenny: Suit yourself. I’ll see you in a fortnight. *kisses Alison’s cheek* Alison: See you then. *to Brock* Bye Brock. Brock: Bye Alison. *Jenny and Brock walk away while Alison goes over to the bus stop to wait for a bus* At Melissa’s house, Mrs Powell is continuing to annoy Nina. Mrs Powell: There you are Nina. Trust me. Leon: What’s she done? Dina: On Saturday, me and Nina were stuck with the old biddy while Melissa had to run some errands of her own. And the whole time she complained about almost everything. “I didn’t know they cooked their chips that hard!” “You filthy human being. We don’t spit in the toilet!”. I was so glad to be home. Leon: That must have been a rough day for you. Dina: I was so close to screaming at her. Trust me. So, how was school? Leon: It was okay. Todd being an a**hole as usual. Dina: That’s not good. He’ll probably wind up on the streets one day. Leon: That’s what I think too. How’s bubba? Dina: Bubba? Leon: The baby. Dina: Oh. I think that its very sad that those women have to live with what you did to them forever! *turns to the jury* Members of the jury, have you reached a verdict? *A female jury member stands up* Female Juror: We have your honour. We find the defendants...... Dina: *whispers* Please be guilty. Please be guilty. Female Juror: GUILTY!!!! *Dina and Trish hug each other while their friends and family give out hugs and kisses* Judge Milian: Robert Francis Jennings. For the rape of Trish Hampton and the attempted kidnapping of Dina Caliente, I hereby sentence you to 35 years in jail with a non-parole period of 20. Paul James Donahue. For the attempted kidnapping of Dina Caliente, I hereby sentence you to 15 years in jail with a non-parole period of 10 years. Case dismissed. *bangs on her gavel* *Jennings and Donahue are lead away by two police officers while Dina and Trish continue to celebrate their victory* As they leave the courtroom, news cameras and journalists are all waiting to interview Dina and Trish. Channel 7 Journalist: How do you feel about the sentencing? Dina: I feel very relived. Channel 10 Journalist: Are you glad this whole trial is over? Trish: Yes, I am. Me and Dina are determined to move on with our lives. The aftermath of the trial is the first story of that night’s 6pm news Ron Wilson (on TV): The men who tried to abduct hairdresser Dina Caliente have pleaded guilty in court today. One of the men also pleaded guilty to the rape of Melbourne woman Trish Hampton two years ago. Sandra Sully (on TV): It was a victory to celebrate. Friends and family of Dina Caliente and Trish Hampton breathed a sigh of relief as the men that made their lives a misery pleaded guilty and were sentenced in court today. Robert Francis Jennings raped Ms Hampton in her Lalor home in June 1987. He, along with Paul James Donahue also tried to abduct Dina Caliente just a few kilometres from her Civic home last week. Dina (on TV): Those bastards got what they deserved for their crimes and I hope they rot in their prison cell. Trish (on TV): Me and Dina are determined to move on with our lives. I’m just glad that they were given a harsh sentence. Sandra Sully (on TV): Justice Marilyn Milian told the men; “You have shown no remorse to your victims and their families. I think that its very sad that those women have to live with what you did to them forever.” *The TV now show Sandra outside the courtroom* Sandra Sully: Justice Milian recommended a bravery award for the boy who saved Ms Caliente’s life. Leon Longbottom put his own life at risk to save the terrified woman by punching Donahue in the face. Leon (on TV): I feel very honoured that I saved one of my friends from nearly being kidnapped. Dina and Trish didn’t deserve this. They are good, decent people. Sandra Sully: Jennings was sentenced to 35 years imprisonment with a 20 year non-parole period. Donahue was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with a non-parole period of 10 years. They are behind bars tonight in Silverwater Correctional Centre. Nina opens it to find Trish standing there.* Nina: Hello Trish. Come on in. *Trish goes inside* Trish: I just came to say goodbye to Dina. I’m heading back to Melbourne tonight. Dina: I hope you have a safe trip back. We will keep in contact I promise. Trish: Maybe one day you could come and visit me. Dina: I hope so. Bailiff: All rise. *Judge Marilyn Milian enters the courtroom before taking her seat* Judge Milian: Please be seated. *Everyone sits down except the Bailiff* Bailiff: The people vs. Robert Jennings and Paul Donahue is now in session. Judge Milian: Now Mr Jennings. Where we you on the night of June 27, 1987? Jennings: I was at home. Why? Judge Milian: Because that was the night that Trish Hampton was raped in her home! Jennings: Oh that night! I was over at her place and I raped her. Satisfied now? Judge Milian: I will NOT allow impertinence in my courtroom! Now, may I call Trish Hampton to the stand please? *Trish goes over to the witness box and sits down* Judge Milian: Ms Hampton. What time did the rape take place? Trish: It was in the early hours of Sunday morning. I woke up to this loud thud and as I went to investigate Mr Jennings grabbed me by the throat and said that if I didn't keep quiet he would kill me. What came next was the worst twenty minutes I have ever experienced. After he left, I just sobbed and sobbed like a baby. *Jennings laughs* Trish: DO YOU THINK RAPE IS A LAUGHING MATTER YOU A***HOLE?!? I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL YOU PIG!!! May I go back to my seat? Judge Milian: Sure. *Trish goes back to her seat but not before glaring at Jennings* A few minutes later, Judge Milian calls Dina to the witness box. Judge Milian: Ms Caliente. What were you doing on the night of April 12? Dina: I was shopping with my friend looking at baby furniture for my new baby. Judge Milian: What happened after you left the shopping centre? Dina: I walked home and those two BASTARDS pulled up next to me and they asked for directions to the hospital. Jennings then covered his hand over my mouth while Donahue tried to drag me into the car. I managed to bite Jennings before they escaped. Judge Milian: Thank you Ms Caliente. You may take a seat. I would like to call Leon Longbottom to the stand. *Leon walks over to the witness box and sits down* Judge Milian: Leon. Where were you on the night of April 12? Leon: I was riding my bike home from my friend's house. He lives two blocks away from my house. Donahue: We don't want ya life story mate! Judge Milian: SHUT UP!!!!! *to Leon* Go ahead Leon. Leon: I was on my way home when I saw the men try and pull Dina into the car. I managed to punch Donahue in the face before Jennings pushed me to the ground. I helped Dina get home safely that night. Judge Milian: How old are you? Leon: I'll be 14 in August. Judge Milian: It must have taken you a lot of courage for you to save Ms Caliente's life. I hereby recommend you be awarded a Bravery Medal. Leon: Thanks your honour. *returns to his seat* *Alison and Nina both hug him* Alison: You deserve that medal. Nina: I'm so proud of you. Judge Milian: The final sentencing will occur tomorrow. While she is drinking her cappuccino from Gloria Jean's, Amanda Greenacre (an old acquaintance from Summer Bay) approaches her. Amanda: Hello stranger. *Alison looks up at Amanda* Alison: Amanda Greenacre! How have you been? *gives Amanda a hug* Amanda: Great. I just bought a flat over at Blakes Inlet. Alison: If I knew where you lived I could've visited you when I was staying with the family. Amanda: I hear you're doing a TAFE course now. I do a TAFE course myself. Alison: What course are you doing? Amanda: I'm doing a make-up and retail cosmetic services course. How about you? Alison: I'm doing my HSC. Amanda: Didn't you get it last year? Alison: I did but I got really low marks and wanted to have another crack at it. Amanda: That's good. Alison: Listen. I just want to say I'm sorry for giving you a hard time back in high school. Amanda: That's okay. I don't even remember some of the things you did. Alison: But I do. Remember when we had a fight in English? *Flashback to when Alison and Amanda are having a fight during English* Students: FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! *Several teachers come and break up the fight* Mr Bertram: REPORT TO MY OFFICE NOW LADIES!!!!!! *end of flashback* Amanda: But that's all in the past now. I'm happy to be friends with you. Melissa: That's very nice. *Mrs Powell goes inside the house while Dina and Nina come from downstairs* Nina: Hello. Who are you? Mrs Powell: Essie Powell. And you are? Nina: Nina Caliente. And this is my sister Dina. Dina: Hi. Mrs Powell: You look fat my dear. Dina: I'm PREGNANT! Mrs Powell: So you are. *turns to Nina* That lipstick is far too bright and you should only wear it going out. Nina: I wear it all the time. This isn't the 1950's you know. Melissa: Mum why don't you go into the living room while I talk to Dina and Nina. Mrs Powell: All right. *walks into the living room* Melissa: *to Dina and Nina* Why are you being so rude? Dina: That woman just called me fat. Melissa: THAT WOMAN happens to be my mother. Nina: She was being a pure and utter snob if you ask me. Melissa: That's your opinion. But I won't have you be rude to my mother. *Dina just simply storms off* Melissa: DINA!!!! Nina: Nice one Mel! *goes after Dina* *Melissa lets out a heavy sigh* Later on, Melissa talks to her mother about her behaviour towards Dina and Nina. Melissa: That behaviour is not on Mum. You just don't go and ask questions that offend people OR criticise them. Do you understand? Mrs Powell: Yes I do. Melissa: Good. Why don't we go and have some fruit salad. Mrs Powell: I would like that. Over at Leon's house, Leon's father is in Leon's bedroom talking to him. Mr Longbottom: Are you okay son? You haven't been yourself and I'm worried something's not right. Leon: You know how Dina nearly got kidnapped? I saved her. Mr Longbottom: What do you mean you saved her? Leon: I was riding my bike when I saw the men try and drag Dina into the car and I punched one of them in the face. *Mr Longbottom looks shocked* Mr Longbottom: YOU DID WHAT?!? Leon: I punched one of the men in the face. Mr Longbottom: I normally would give you a lecture about violence but what you did to save that woman was great heroism and I'm really impressed. Leon: Thanks Dad. *gives his father a hug* Mr Longbottom: When's the trial? Leon: Tomorrow morning at eleven. Mr Longbottom: Are you going to testify? Leon: Yes. I consider Dina as one of my friend and I want to testify on her behalf. He seems to be looking better but his head is still bandaged. Jenny: Good morning precious! *gives Brock a kiss* Brock: Good morning! Alison: You starting to make a full recovery. Brock: Yes I am. The doctor said I could be out by Tuesday. Jenny: That’s wonderful. Has the foul temptress come back? Brock: Who? Heather? No way. Jenny: As long as she keeps out of our way, we’ll be happy. Alison: The devious slag got what she deserved. I’m just glad that you fell for my favourite cousin. Brock: Jenny is the most caring person I have ever come across *holds Jenny’s hand* Alison: And what about me? Brock: You’re pretty much the same. *Alison and Jenny look at each other and laugh* Jenny: Did you have your breakfast? Brock: Yes I did. I had Sultana Bran. Jenny: That’s good. Trish: It’s not easy being a single mother raising two kids. Do you get what I’m saying? Dina: Yes I do. I’m expecting a baby myself in a few months. Trish: Did any of the men hurt you in any way? Dina: No. They only covered my mouth to stop me from screaming out for help. Trish: I went to bed one night and I woke up to this loud thud. I went to investigate and the man who tried to abduct you grabbed me by the throat and then told me to be quiet otherwise I would be killed. *Dina looks shocked* Trish: Anyway, the man started pull at my nightie and that’s when he raped me. Dina: I’m so sorry that you have to live with that forever Trish. Trish: The attack lasted twenty minutes before he practically jumped out of my bedroom window. I was crying like a baby all night. Dina: Where were the kids? Trish: They were over at their friend’s house for the night. Are going to testify at their trial? Dina: You bet I am.   25. Episode 26 - Confessions Melissa and Nina walk Dina into the living room to talk about what has just happened to her. Melissa: What happened Dina? *Dina wipes away her tears* Dina: I was on my way home from shopping when these two men wanted directions to go to the hospital. As I turned my back, one of them covered my mouth while the other tried to drag me into the car. I tried to fight back but I couldn't due to my pregnancy. Then Leon arrives on his bike and he punched the one that tried to drag me into the car. I managed to bite the hand of the other. If Leon didn't save my life, I don't know what would've happened. *starts to sob* *Melissa hugs Dina* Nina: Did you get the registration plate and what kind of car it was? Dina: It was a blue Ford Falcon. The vehicle plate was TEL-402. Nina: I'm calling the police. Dina: NINA!!! NO!!!! Nina: Dina! Two men tried to abduct you tonight! You have to report it to the police! Dina: All right. *goes over to the phone and rings Civic Police Station* Hello. My name is Dina Caliente and I would like to report an incident. I was nearly kidnapped by two men driving a blue Ford Falcon with the registration plate TEL-402. I will give you my written statement in the morning. Thank you. *hangs up the phone before wiping away her tears* The next day (Thursday), Hayley's class are in English when Leon walks into the classroom. He looks scared. Miss Owens: Come inside Leon. You haven't missed much. *Leon sits with Hayley and Ben* Hayley: You look terrible Leon. Are you okay? Leon: Yeah. I'm fine. *gets out his English book and starts to write what Miss Owens has on the board* Ben: Are you sick? Leon: I said I'm fine. Ben: I was just asking. Leon: Sorry. I couldn't sleep at all last night. Hayley: Why? Leon: I don't know. I just don't know. Hayley: You know that your friends will be here if you want to talk to them. Leon: I know. *smiles weakly* Meanwhile, Alison and her friends are having their usual conversations in class. Melissa: Dina could not get any sleep last night. She just spent the whole time crying. Alison: Who can blame her though? Kat: Did she report it to the police? Melissa: Yes, she did. Sylvia: I hope they catch the bastards! Did they hurt her? Melissa: No. They only tried to drag her into the car. Kat: I'm dreading tonight's 6pm news. Alison: Me too. By the way, I was thinking that we never talk to any of the male students here. Sylvia: Ali has a good point. We don't never socialise with the male students. Just the females. Kat: That's because they're into cars, sport and S-E-X! Alison: Why don't we talk to some male students at lunch. Because we have to do our first assignment at recess. Melissa: That's a good idea. Lolly: Are we doing our work girls? Melissa: Yes we are Lolly. Lolly: I hope so. *smiles* *the girls continue to work. At lunchtime, Alison and her friends try and socialise with a group of male students. Alison: Hi fellas. *Tevita Usaia, Jordan Graham, Greg Everett and Michael Nettelship look at Alison and her friends* Tevita: Hey. Michael: Hello ladies. Alison: May we sit here? Greg: Sure. *Alison, Melissa, Sylvia and Kat sit with Tevita, Jordan, Greg and Michael* Kat: So, what are you studying? Melissa: Tevita and Jordan are in our class Kat. Jordan: That's right. Greg: I'm doing a hospitality course. Sylvia: Which one? Greg: Commercial cookery. Michael: And I'm studying to be an auto mechanic. Kat: You have the body for it. Alison: Kat! *to Michael* She's kidding. Michael: Right. Kat: I was just making statement Alison. *smiles* Alison: We should do this more often. Jordan: You're right. We should. Meanwhile, Leon is in the school library when Hayley approaches him. Hayley: Leon! What is going on? You have been acting strange all day. Leon: No I haven't. Hayley: You refused to play football with the boys. You don't normally do that. Leon: Maybe I was sick and tired of playing. Did that ever cross your mind? *Hayley looks at him bewildered* Leon: I'm sorry. Something is bugging me. *they sit down at a desk* Last night, I witnessed an attempted kidnapping. Hayley: Oh my god! What happened? Leon: Dina Caliente was approached by these two men who tried to kidnap her. I punched one of them in the face before she bit the other's hand. When I got home, I just had too many what ifs in my head and couldn't get to sleep. I don't normally talk about my feelings but that incident deeply hurt me because I consider Dina and her sister as friends. *Leon looks like he is about to cry* Hayley: I'm so sorry Leon. I never knew you were so upset and hurt about it. Leon: At least I saved her. *Hayley and Leon then embrace* When TAFE has finished, Sylvia gets ready for her first day at Harleys. Amy works there too. Sylvia: It feels so good to have a job doesn't it Amy? Amy: Yeah. It does. Sylvia: Why weren't you at TAFE today? Amy: I chucked a sickie. Sylvia: But you're not sick are you? Amy: I'm not. It's just that I feel really bad about what happened to Dina. Sylvia: It's not your fault Amy. Amy: I should've just walked home with her. Sylvia: You need to stop blaming yourself. *Nina walks into the diner* Nina: Hi ladies. A strawberry milkshake please. Sylvia: Coming right up. Amy: How's Dina? Nina: *shakes her head* Not good. She's scared to leave the house. Amy: I just feel so bad Nina. Nina: It's not your fault. *gives Amy a hug* Amy: I hope those pricks get what coming to them. Sylvia: I hope so too. *to Nina* Here's your milkshake. Nina: Thanks Sylvia. *sits at a table* Sylvia: See Amy. It's not your fault. Amy: I know. I feel so much better now. *Sylvia and Amy laugh* That evening, Alison is over at Melissa's house watching the news and there is a report on Dina's attempted kidnapping. Ann Sanders (on TV): Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 21 year-old woman in Civic last night. Two men tried to pull the woman into the car but they were chased off by a teenage boy who came to the woman's aid. *Fifteen minutes later, Ann presents some breaking news about Dina's kidnapping* Ann Sanders (on TV): To some breaking news now and police have charged two men over the attempted kidnapping of 21 year-old hairdresser Dina Caliente. Police arrested them at a petrol station in Liverpool a short time ago. One of the men is also accused of raping 28 year-old mother of two Trish Hampton two years ago. The men will face trial next week. Alison: Good riddance! Melissa: Serves them right! Nina: Yeah! Dina: I'm really looking forward to dishing out some justice to those bastards!
