  1. Episode 4: Pride and Prejudice That night Jenny and Alison are in the kitchen talking when someone knocks on the door. Jenny: I wonder who that could be? *walks towards the door and opens it. It is Melissa* Melissa: Hi. Is Alison home? Jenny: Yes she is. Who are you? Melissa: I'm Melissa Powell; one of her new TAFE friends. Jenny: Please come in. Would you like a drink? Melissa: Do you have any diet soft drink? Jenny: I have Diet Coke. Melissa: That will be fine. I didn't catch your name? Jenny: I'm Alison's cousin Jennifer Peters. But everyone calls me Jenny or Jen. *Melissa and Jenny walk into the kitchen* Jenny: Alison. Melissa from TAFE is here. Alison: Hi Melissa. Melissa: Hello Alison. *they both kiss on the cheek* Alison: What brings you here? Melissa: I just wanted to tell you that what you did today was very well handled. Those boys respect you. Jenny: What is she talking about Alison? Alison: These bullies were hassling two high school kids so I taught them a lesson. I did a Bobby Simpson. Jenny: Wow! I'm really impressed Alison. You are really starting to mature into a well-respected member of the community. Alison: I've already told Melissa and Sylvia about my past in Summer Bay if that's what you mean. But you're right. I'm glad to be living here and starting my new life. Melissa: Will I see you at TAFE tomorrow? Alison: You will. Melissa: Great. I'll see you tomorrow. *kisses Alison on the cheek* It was nice to meet you Jenny. *goes to shake Jenny's hand* Jenny: Likewise. *shakes Melissa's hand* *Melissa leaves the house* The next day at TAFE, Alison and her class are in the computer room doing some work. Alison: This History task is as easy as pie. Don't you think Sylvia? Sylvia: It's okay. By the way, I spoke to Riggot last night. Alison: Do you know him personally? Sylvia: He's my next-door neighbour. My parents are good friends with his family. He was wondering if he and Leon could spend time with you. Alison: I would like that. *On the other side of the computer lab, Nour (an Arabic woman) is clicking her fingers in Melissa's face. Nour: Ahem!!! Melissa: Don't you EVER click your fingers in my face again! That is extremely rude! Nour: Typical Australian! Whenever us Arabs need help you just simply reject us. Melissa: Now listen here you racist bitch! We did not ask you to come into this country so you can put us down! WHERE WAS THE INVITATION SAYING THAT YOU CAN COME TO AUSTRALIA AND BE A RACIST!!!! Nour: HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT YOU IGNORANT COW! *The argument continues until Lolly Dunlop breaks it up* Lolly: Stop this at once! I will not tolerate fighting and bad language in my class. Do you understand? Melissa and Nour: Yes Lolly. Lolly: Good. Now return to your work. At lunch, Nour attempts to sit at the table where Alison, Melissa, Sylvia and another girl Rachael Manase Nour: How is your day? Alison: Why are you sitting at our table? Nour: Because I feel like it. I want to talk to you girls. Rachael: I'm sorry but we don't allow racist people at our table. Melissa: Yeah. NOW RACK OFF! Sylvia: What Melissa said. *Nour gets up and puts her food tray down onto an empty table* When TAFE is finished for the day, Alison waits for Leon and Riggot to arrive. Jenny has gone out after taking Mrs Peters home earlier. *The front door starts knocking and Alison opens it. It's Leon and Riggot.* Riggot: Sup girl! Alison: Sup? I don't think I've ever heard that greeting before. Leon: All the kids from the hood say it around here. Alison: Well don't just stand here. Come on inside. *Leon and Riggot go inside* Alison: How long have you been friends for? Riggot: Since the start of last year. Alison: What year are you in now? Leon: Year 8. Alison: Are those brats still giving you a hard time? Riggot: They actually left us alone today. Alison: I need to talk about something. *sits down on the armchair* I used to be a bully when I lived in Summer Bay. *Leon and Riggot gasp* Leon: You're joking. Alison: No. I bullied people over all sorts of things. That's the reason I moved to the city to start a new life. I just thought I would tell you now before you found it later on. Leon: I'm glad you were honest with us. Riggot: Same. Alison: Do you still want to be friends? Leon: Of course we do. Riggot: I'm cool with you Alison. Maybe one day you can watch me and Leon play footy with the boys. Alison: I would be happy too. *they hug* Leon: Do I get a hug? Alison: Of course *hugs Leon* Meanwhile, Jenny is getting a burger at McDonalds when she sees a guy crying Jenny: What's the matter? Brock: My girlfriend just dumped me for my best mate. Jenny: That's horrible. I'm so sorry to hear that. Brock: She wasn't worth my time anyway. *wipes away his tears* Jenny: I'm Jenny Peters by the way. You are? Brock: Brock Anderson.
