I didn't like that interpretation of the Home and Away theme. They took a classic theme tune and turned it into a joke IMO. The full theme wasn't even used was it?

I have a question regarding Irene's marital history. Am I right in thinking she was married when her kids were really young? Did he ever return once Irend had come off the drink or was he never seen? I think it could work if he came back all these years later after all that's happened. Hope someone can answer.

Well I'm reviving this thread after it being dead for almost a year! Irene has had her worst year yet IMO. Her cancer storyline finished at the beginning of the year and since then she's been nothing but a supporting character. All she has done is listen to April and Bianca's problems and toss salad in the Diner. I can however think of one storyline where she worked with a musical instructor Eddie and she sang some karaoke but that was nothing more than a 3 episode storyline. I really miss Irene having stuff to do and having people ask her how she's doing - it made you feel like she was a real person but now she just floats about and you're lucky if she's in 2 episodes a week! It really is a disgrace how Irene is written and Lynne doesn't seem too bothered. I really hope things are different next year and we see Irene take on a more central role in the town of Summer Bay. I'd like her to rekindle her friendship with Marilyn and we see them bond again. She used to live with Irene and it was a really believeable friendship. There's still hope for the character but the writers really need to get their act together.

I hope that Norman Coburn has been approached for the 25th Anniversary next year. It's been 5 years since we last saw him. I asked Louise Bowes if there were any plans for him returning but I was ignored.

What an unimaginative storyline for Leah. The writers should be ashamed. She's had too much heartache for one character to handle so I think Ada should either leave or request that Leah starts getting believeable, happy and character-driven storylines that will develop Leah as a character. I would've liked her exit storyline to involve Vinnie in some way or maybe her parents could come back and need her help.

They were always going to reconcile. But TPTB had to break them up in a pathetic attempt to create some drama. It has backfired on them so there was no point in splitting them up in the first place. Sadly, these days couples keep splitting and then getting back together and it's just become boring and repetitive.

No one can be happy for long on this show, we better come to terms with that. I highly disagree with you about Natalie being shallow, to me, she is one of the most selfless people in Summer Bay. She genuinely cares about Casey, Sasha, Jett. She is a breath of fresh air and she is great addition to the cast. But that is just my opinion of course. Have you heard something about her departure, or is this only speculation? If it is, that is just fine, I just wanted to know if someone had heard something about how long she will be on the show (did she get a 3 year contract like most of the other cast or a contract for 18 months). I just find her shallow as she constantly pines after Brax. I do agree with you that she does care about Jett! She looks out for him and I enjoy the scenes between them. I actually have no idea when she'll be leaving.... I just don't see her staying on the show for that long so I just thought she'd leave by next year.

I really couldn't care less about yet more relationship troubles. Seriously, why can't ANYONE be happy on this show? Natalie is one of the most shallow characters in a long time and she comes off as being very interfering. I look forward to her departure which I imagine will be sometime next year.

It's now been over 5 years since the veteran Australian actor graced our television screens as Donald Fisher on Home and Away. I'm know that he retired in 2003 so probably doesn't do much these days but has he done anything since 2007? Am I right in thinking that he does a lot of work in theatre? I think he attended a Home and Away celebration in 2009 but there's been no news of him since then. I really hope he might return for H&A's 25th Anniversary celebrations next year! So, does anyone know what he does these days?

I agree. I find myself zoning out during Leah's scenes, which is a shame because she used to be one of my favourite characters. Yeah I feel the same. I really don't know what went wrong with her character. I suppose it began after Dan died. Since then she hasn't really had any purpose and these days she just floats around The Diner. I think for a character that been around for 12 years and had provided so much comic relief, she deserved a much bigger farewell than what she was given. I was hoping for a nice montage and some old faces
