Hi, I know I haven't been here for quite some time but I just wanted to share some thoughts as I don't know if I've got the wrong end of the stick or not. I swear Irene's friends shouldn't have been leaving her alone so much. They DEFINITELY shouldn't have been encouraging her drinking. Disgusting. Alcoholism is a beast right. A real beast. It's not gonna be easy to help Irene. Doesn't mean they don't try. I swear Irene ended up in hospital today coz of all those sad sacks. I mean Irene told John to leave her alone. Did he really take her seriously??? He could've asked Harper or Dana to let him into the house when Irene wasn't there. Then he shoulda poured all the alcohol away. He could leave a note for Irene or wait til Irene got home! It's not easy or comfortable. SO?????? Look what's happened to Irene now. I mean she was the one who was drinking the alcohol yes, writing herself off, BUT her friends have sure done a LOUSY job at supporting her. So you know the message at the end of every episode? About "You can call the helpline". So what if someone's watching H&A and they feel just like Leah as a friend of theirs or family member is suffering with a relapse... They watch H&A and go 'Well... there's no hope then. There's nothing I can do. I'll just make it worse'. WRONG. REALLY WRONG. Irene can't help herself. She shouldn't have had to end up in hospital for things to start changing and improving again. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad writing. I mean I have no experience of addiction myself. At all. I've seen it on TV a few times. In Brothers and Sisters Justin's family stayed up with him all night when he was going cold turkey!! I'd have just taken an intervention on H&A!! So... Have I oversimplified it? Is it a bit more complex, a bit more tricky than I've thought? Does it need to be thought about a bit more than I have? I think Leah and her friends have done a poor job. Is that wrong. We can have a respectful discussion about it all. I have autism and I find seeing gray areas tricky. I just feel like Irene's so called "friends" dropped the ball baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad and the tptb to be honest too. Harper was my star of the week this week/star of the storyline today!! Taking Irene to hospital and being firm with her! *singing* Aaaahhhhh!!!! The Happy Clappy Leahlyn Brigade woulda just patched Irene up, sent her to bed and gone home. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I had an experience once with an alcoholic. Alright so I've had one. It was a lady I didn't know, at night, while I was waiting for the bus home. She asked me if she could have some money. I said "no" out of habit. I think then she said it was for alcohol. I said "no" again. Definitely said no then! I knew who she was. I then asked her "Are you an alcoholic?" She said "Yes". I replied "I just don't think I can set you back". She'd told me, I asked if memory serves, she was going to rehab. I said "I can't be the one who sets you back. Not this close to going to rehab". I don't know if she was really going to rehab. I hope she was! I said "We can talk about it if you like?" But she left. She came back one more time to ask for money and I still stood firm. I prayed that she wouldn't come back again, nor get alcohol and that she'd really go to rehab!! That's what you have to do!! I mean praying's optional I suppose but you hafta stand firm!!! The Happy Under The Carpet Brigade?? They woulda taken this lady/Irene to the supermarket - 2 mins walk away and helped her carry the bottles to the checkout. And WHY??? So they wouldn't get Irene offside?? Heads up dummies - the alcohol has already done that. I feel like the "friends" thought it was more important to be nice to Irene than actually help her. Please. It makes me sick. Well with the exception of Harper, though she coulda come to the realisation she came to today a whole lot quicker, who needs enemies when Irene's got such great "friends"??? Hi guys, Been trying to log back in, after a looooooong absence, for a while now. I forgot my password and couldn't reset it as I have lost access to the email account I registered with this forum originally. Was just on the verge of creating a new temp. account - I am talking to the support team to get my account, this account, password, back up and running. When I spotted a way I'd be able to log back in and hey presto!! I'd like a name change too! One that fits my avvie better!! Tori's my fav character in H&A ever!! I wouldn't be here today, in fact, were it not for Penny McNamee's stellar stellar decision to come back for Justin and Leah's wedding!!!! Anyhoo, I read the comment the other day about Mali being boring just coz he's a nice guy. That is NOT true. Mali's boring coz he's so bland, he never does anything interesting. Levi's a nice guy who's not boring! Cash, just about - better since getting together with Eden! Karl Kennedy's interesting, Will Trent, Owen in 911: Lonestar is great, anyone remember the title character in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries from all those years ago - Tommy was THE nicest guy!!! He was lovely, down to earth, decent, dashing and interesting!! Trust me - it's Mali who's the problem - he's dddddddddduuuuuuuuuullllllllll. And he needs to sort his hair out = annoying and messy. Nice is good, valuable, respectful and interesting etc!! Boring is only working at the board shop and occasionally having scenes with his girlfriend who has an interesting job/other people who do have interesting things going on in their lives. Don't get me started on Mali going off all half cocked to avenge Iluka. Iluka STOLE a lot of money for crying out loud. I thought that's why Mali was mad at him in the first place. He forgot that quickly when he left Levi lying in that hospital bed to go off and avenge his THIEVING brother. So yeah poor Levi ended up in hospital after nearly dying. Now maybe I'm not supposed to like Levi, like Eden, and others - viewers - folks here? Well! It's too late. He's very good looking and he treats Mackenzie right, he's hot and he clearly loves Mac! They have great chemistry too!!! I'm an unashamed shipper!! I could probably look up the episodes when Macevi first started on dailymotion but that's a lot of effort and it's not always going to be positive to catch up with their storyline so oh well! Sorry, not sorry - I'm a Macevi shipper and not ashamed!!!! I got the gist plus it's a soap opera!! I am a bit worried about this whole proposal thing Tane has for the gym and the surf club. It's quite a good idea on one hand yes! BUT is it only gonna be Tane staffing it?? Surely he's factored that into his proposal?? He's mastered the art of being in two places at once has he?! Wow!!!! I need the deets on that!!! Awesome!!!!!!!! Coz you betcha - given free rein those delinquents - it's not offensive if it's true, will steal, break things, maybe by accident, maybe not, and mess things up. That's a business, the surf club at the end of the day! They might well even try getting upstairs to Salt to steal the alcohol/drink it. It's a SOAP OPERA. But no one's mentioned how many people are gonna be staffing. I'd say fifteen kids at a time absolute max and like five staff/volunteers pos. to handle them all! Security guards pos. too. I think Tane's being incredibly niave. Yet no one's going into details like that. Come ON ptb!!! I mean how many days is this... "proposal" gonna be on offer? Every night? Like a youth club? But these are the gym and the surf club, not a youth club. It might sound like I'm against the idea but I'm not. Help these guys/girls at this age! Great!! That is a good idea!! It just seems like people are telling Tane "there are issues" and he's going "No! It'll be fine!" or pos. more disturbingly "I hadn't thought of that". The whole Harper thing... yawn... Why are they keeping it such a secret? Coz of Flic? Huh... I do enjoy the stuff in the share house a lot of the time! Like when the lights went out!! Fuuuunny!!!!!! Is Theo still at Tafe? Has he not finished his course yet? He doesn't talk about it anymore... So Lyrick could reform right?! Everyone would be a whole lot happier then. I'm kinda waiting for Eden and Mac to run into each other at work. What about when big bro. starts tagging along again?! What is this clinic or whatever Levi's had to push back the opening of? I think Eden's being a bit two faced in that she has forgiven Mac it seems but not Levi, her own brother! I'm worried for Dana's life atm. I see her meeting a sticky end due to all this Bronte business. She doesn't have anyone to turn to either coz all the other suckers have been pulled into Bronte's evil web well and truly. I mean Dana should absolutely carry on with her quest but I'm worried where she'll end up as a result. I can't believe Xander and Harper are so against Dana. It's doing my head in how much everyone's fallen for Bronte's lies tbh. Sick. Has Bronte ever tried an honest day's work?? There's nothing honest about her. I know that. But it's a lot more certain than lying to strangers and definitely waaaaaaaay less icky. Not that I think Bronte cares. She should. She clearly knows it's wrong. Otherwise she wouldn't be lying so much would she, waiting in places where vulnerable people are likely to be to prey on them. I think that's all I have to say. I did a big old binge a couple of weeks ago. Watched all the eps. that were on demand!! Was fun!! Happy couples, no Bronte, no Iluka!!! Now, not quite so fun, but I still got one or two ships and interesting storylines going on!!

Thanks. So my next question is how long is the H&A Christmas break in Aus? They have it on air for longer than we do too. Maybe that's something to do with the fact C5 wanted their viewers to have a decent "finale" ep. here in the UK? Like I mean if we were to have H&A on air in the UK until 9/12 too maybe that "finale" wouldn't be a good place to leave it especially for this long 5 week break we're to be subjected to as well. *scratch head* Argh TV ey? I'm really into H&A atm! They're doing a really really good job I think! Anyway I'll miss H&A a lot I think and especially for 5 FLIPPIN WEEKS. 5 WEEKS!!!! SERIOUSLY????? That's soooooooooooooooooo aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. *thumbs down* Ooh I like this point a lot!! A Golden Opportunity indeed and that way we wouldn't have to endure such a flippin major long break too!! YAY!!! We'll just have to come and support each other though this tough time in our lil thread here you guys. Shall I go first? "Hi! My name's Lydia and I'm a Home and Away addict". Wow!! Five weeks ey? Boy! That's a heck of a long break and especially for a daily soap opera like H&A. Whatever am I gonna do with that spare half hour every day for 5 WEEKS!!! Might have to go back to Neigh. then aargh!! I don't really have an issue with the gap being quite so big for us and Aus with H&A as long as the episodes keep ticking over nicely and we don't a have a flippin 5 WEEK break. A two or three week break maybe but 5??? It might be kinda good to have a break from these sorts of shows at a couple of specific points throughout the year. But just short breaks. Yeah maybe it will be alright if 5* show some classic eps. during the break. Always up for learning more about the present characters pasts' and those characters from the past who I only vaguely got to know anyway. I only watched H&A properly for myself for about three years the first time around. Wow! Didn't realise it was quite that short!! "Braxtonville Crime Takeover" got in the way grrrr!! Anyhoo I used to watch a little bit, every now and again with my sister when we were both a lot younger (once the show made the initial change to C5) so it would be interesting to see the past episodes for me! Just out of interest how long is the Neigh. Christmas UK break gonna be does anyone know? Same as Aus. pos? Like I said I really don't have a massive problem with the gap issue between us and Aus. but maybe it does seem a bit ridiculous that in the UK we are quite so far behind Australia. Is there a particular reason for this do we know. Like on the Australian end? I know what C5 are saying. You know when I first came back to H&A this time around I did find some clips of Matt and Charlotte on Youtube and I thought this was a relationship that had been and gone earlier in the year just before I came back. I was later to find out of course that this was not the case. This whole thing probably occured coz I was going along with the fact that the UK is two weeks behind with Neigh. Anyway I'll stop banging on about it now. This is an interesting and useful thread to have for all of us English viewers right guys? ;) It is kinda good to have an end date I guess. That way I won't be watching it on the Friday and then anticipating an ep. on Mon. 7 Dec. only to be disappointed when there is none. Sounds like too that we're not gonna have an entirely useless "season finale" here in the UK so that's something good at least! ;)

I guess you just have to go with what you feel don't you? If I don't keep putting Angelo up then Charlie probably won't finish with so many points but also if I don't keep putting him up it's kind of like I don't care but I do so I'm just gonna go with how I feel.
