Adam returned in episode 2656 which aired on Monday July 12 1999 and was gone by episode 2702 which aired on September 14 1999. The first sign of Byron's illness was in episode 2705 just after Adam left in the same week. From memory I don't think Adam had any interaction with Marilyn whatsoever but I might be wrong about that. He mainly had scenes with Sally, Vinnie, Shauna, Alf, Irene, Will, Hayley and Sam.

Denise "Denny" Miller - Jessica Grace Smith
Jezz replied to MACYLIGHTFOOT's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I agree with both RR1 and John. I just couldn't invest in Casey and Denny's relationship especially knowing that Casey would be gone soon enough and the fact that they'd known each other for only a few months but were seen to be in a relationship that would last forever supposedly. Denny needs more storylines and screen time with her family next year. -
Andy had been in prison/juvenile detention with Heath before and he's had a criminal history and along with losing his step-father because of Brax I can understand his initial bitterness. Matt was just an angry young man because of where he came from with his family background and he didn't like the snobbery that came with Summer Bay High students until he got to know them better and he was no longer under Montgomery's influence. Andy's issues are far greater than Matt's in my opinion. Some would dispute that and say Matt's upbringing hasn't been easy at all which I would agree with especially with the introduction of his father recently. Yeah but Brax didn´t kill his father so it changes everything No he didn't kill his stepfather but he thought he did and led Adam Sharpe to him later on to 'bury' the body when as a matter of fact Johnny was alive until Adam or his associates murdered him. Brax has that type of liability hanging over him whether it was intentional or not. Pretty much spot on RR1 when it comes to Andy but there is one thing I would dispute and that is that Andy did not attempt to murder Casey and Maddy but just inflict harm upon them. I don't think his modus operand and chief objective was to murder Casey and Maddy. My impression from watching that episode is that Andy intended to run Casey and Maddy off the road but he wasn't attempting to kill them but if he did kill them he could have been liable for reckless murder as a reasonable person would know that running someone off the road could easily result in a death or serious injuries. However driving off rather than aiding them after he ran off the road demonstrated a lack of remorse but again I feel like Andy thought they weren't in any grave danger to die but rather they have minor injuries.

That's strange and interesting to find out. This Martin "Ash' Ashford character on Casualty first appeared on the show in 1990. I wonder if it's coincidence or the writers took the name from another show.

Unusual move for her from being an actress to a presenter on Better Homes and Gardens as I thought she might try her luck in Hollywood first! Nevertheless good luck to her!

There are potentially avenues that could be explored regarding Morag troubled relationship with Bobby after several years. It was hinted firstly when Martha went on a tirade of abuse against Morag in early 2007 when she was angry at Morag for interfering in her relationship with Ashton Nader as she briefly mentioned how her daughter (Bobby) hated Morag and it was again hinted at when Nicole wanted to give up her baby for adoption privately speaking to Sid and Marilyn in early 2011. What´s Nigel her pa? And which mansion? Blaxland 89 is talking about two things: 1). Nigel was Morag's personal assistant but was legally blind as well because he lost his eyesight in an accident sustained several years before and no one else would hire him apart from Morag. 2). Morag lived in a mansion around the Summer Bay area when she was a regular character in 1989.
-
I disagree as I think Morag is the type of character who can slot into the show at any time. She's that unique and flexible as a character and still has many connections to the Bay with them being most notable to Alf, Roo, Irene and Marilyn.

I like the Christmas hat on the BTTB logo!

Yes Stacey's engagement run was quite ridiculous in 1989. Her engagement with Nicholas was rather something from a business perspective rather than actually love. Her relationship with Phil seemed genuine enough but sadly he was killed by Dodge and her relationship with Andrew Foley was definitely rushed especially since she lost Phil so recently.

You got any evidence that this is what Cornelia is thinking? I know you're not fond of the current writers and producers and fair enough you have a right to think like that. I certainly have my own criticism of them as well but until you provide any quotes or evidence that Cornelia has similar thoughts about the current production team then what your saying is purely speculative at best. For what it's worth, I'd love to see her return! Morag is one of my favourite characters and she was brilliant in her all stints with the early to mid-2000s being her best stint on the show in my opinion. I'm sorry, Jezz, I should have made it more clear just for you. It is my opinion that this is what Cornelia thinks. Yes, it is me speculating. However, sometime around 2012 she have an interview to Digital Spy I think and she felt that the writers missed opportunities with Celia and Morag together. It was something along those lines. She has commented on the writing in the past too, as has Lyn Collingwood. They are both professionals and have never slagged off or insulted the writing room however! Yes, it's time we saw Morag again. To think though that she was almost a regular in the mid 00s and now might as well not exist. It's a shame, we could do with more older characters. It's a show full of bland, arrogant young characters now, played by catalogue model actors. Thank you for clarifying LOTB! Yes I'm well aware of the interviews implying that she wasn't overly impressed with the small amount of scenes she was shooting but of course they weren't explicit criticisms for obvious reasons as Cornelia is a true professional in her job as you said. At least we somehow find common ground in that we both want to see Morag return to the show sooner rather than later.

There may be characters with Jewish backgrounds that haven't been elaborated upon in the show but in terms of being mentioned off-screen I haven't seen it. In regards to Holocaust survivors I can't say it's ever been mentioned or referred to in the show but maybe someone like Dan F or RR1 may know the answer to your question. I don't think there are any known Holocaust survivors in the Bay and if any such characters are still alive today they'd be a minimum of 70 years of age or older and they would be the youngest known victims of the Holocaust.

Denise "Denny" Miller - Jessica Grace Smith
Jezz replied to MACYLIGHTFOOT's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I suspect she's one of those types of people who may just like the game in general and doesn't support a particular team. After all the Lakers, Celtics and Bulls are very popular teams in the US and abroad especially with the Lakers-Celtics rivalry in the 1980s and the Bulls were massive in 1990s with Michael Jordan leading the way obviously. I'm now waiting for her to wear a Miami Heat top -
Dexter Walker - Tom Green & Charles Cottier
Jezz replied to Jen's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I certainly Dex especially for his humorous side. I think the TPTB have been trying to make Chris the new comical character on the show but he's nowhere near Dex's level or Robbie Hunter's level for that matter. I agree that Sasha seemed to have a greater purpose on the show when her whole family was around. Personally I think she should have been written out last year but with her contractual obligations and the fact that she came onto the show after the rest of the Walker family it wasn't surprising she stayed. At least her staying has allowed Matt Page to thrive as a character. -
Vinnie "VJ" Patterson Jnr - Felix Dean & Matt Little
Jezz replied to Perry's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
Matt Little's a good actor and I think most agree here that it's not about acting ability but more about poor casting choice from the producers. It doesn't sit well with me unfortunately but I'm trying to force myself to tolerate it. -
I never liked her and I wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't see her again. At least the producers hadn't forgotten about her though.

Very happy to see Marilyn get married to John. She deserved some happiness after her relationship broke down with Donald due to Byron's tragic death.

Vinnie "VJ" Patterson Jnr - Felix Dean & Matt Little
Jezz replied to Perry's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
She did have him quite young, 19 or 20. No, she was 22 when she gave birth to VJ. Nearly 23. This new actor make its look like she was about 16. He really does look like a 20-something year old, almost late 20's Imo Why can't they just age the characters gradually. If she's still around, in five years time they will want Leah to be a 'mother figure' to a teenager and potentially draft in some random kid when they could have just used VJ if they'd aged him realistically. Late 20s? You're having a laugh! -
Excellent work! Credit to RR1 for the character profile updates!

I actually didn't realise that the downstairs bedroom area next to the stairs disappeared into a 'vortex' after re-watching yesterday's episode again. Good observation. I hate it when that happens though as it does ruin continuity in some aspect even though it's very subtle or unnoticeable to most viewers.
-
Yes I was a little surprised that Sasha didn't attend the funeral but she did seem genuinely sad about Casey's death especially since they didn't end on great terms as we know from very early last year.
-
I must admit I thought the look of Irene's new kitchen was bland to be honest from what I saw from today's episode. I'm sure I'll grow to like it however.

Vinnie "VJ" Patterson Jnr - Felix Dean & Matt Little
Jezz replied to Perry's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I think Matt Little is too old to play VJ but for some strange reason I still like the casting though. Maybe it's because of the fact that I liked Matt Little as an actor when he was on Neighbours and this has swayed my judgment on him somewhat. Nevertheless Leah will have more scope with storylines as her son is played by a more mature actor now.
