Yes I remember that storyline clearly and it was actually a frightening backstory for Gary Samuels which goes to show how manipulative and dangerous he was. From memory, Gary didn't intend to kill his parents as it was just a prank at the end of the day that backfired really badly though as you can see with his parents being killed.

No 7Two doesn't show Home and Away: The Early Years on the same day as the episode airs in the mornings. Hope this helps answer your question.

Donald Fisher - Norman Coburn
Jezz replied to Light of the Bay's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
Thanks for the links Homeandawayfan I'll be the first to welcome back Don with open arms if he wants to return but I think with Norman getting on now it's not likely he'll return unfortunately. -
It's usually every two years so I'd assume that there will be another one this year as the last one was in 2012. Dan F would know the answer to the question.

Evelyn "Evie" MacGuire - Philippa Northeast

I don't think the actors did those drawings. It must have been professional artists hired by the producers and they show the bits where the characters do the finishing touches of the drawings. In reality, we actually never see the characters do the drawings when you think about it. In regards to the drawings themselves, they were impressive no doubt. -
Not surprising. She seemed to be in literally every episode in 1992 with the way she was carrying on throughout the whole year

Great to finally see Irene again this time played by Lynne McGranger. Funny seeing Irene smoking in her first re-appearance played by Lynne as you can't imagine that happening these days with any character whatsoever, in particularly with Irene herself.

Well Alec Snow who plays Matt did sign a three year contract in November last year so if that's anything to go by, Matt will be on our screens for a while yet.
-
Fantastic to see that we've reached 1993 now. I never thought we'd get this far after the Early Years commenced in November 2009 as I thought in all honesty we'd be lucky just to get through 1988. This is a huge year for the show no doubt and this year probably marks an end of an era for the true 'Early Years' and a new era of the show begins which is the period of 1994 to 1997. I'm hanging out for 1995 as well, but anyway looking forward to these upcoming episodes nevertheless. Well done to Channel 7 for airing these episodes, it's been fantastic to relive these old episodes.

I agree. I liked the fact that the writers didn't forget that Casey and Tamara had a strong friendship despite them breaking up with each other in the latter stages of 2013. It's a pity that Tamara left at a stage where I felt her character was starting to find her feet with the Braxtons no longer being in her own shadow anymore.

WOW I nearly forgot that it's been 25 years since Marilyn made her first appearance on the show. Where has the time gone?

Denise "Denny" Miller - Jessica Grace Smith
Jezz replied to MACYLIGHTFOOT's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I like the way Denny has settled into the community. Her friendship with Alf as a co-worker at the bait shop allows her to interact with many characters. I'm glad that Chris and her patched things up in today's episode on Australian screens. They make a good couple when Chris isn't carrying on like a fool. I would like to see her in more scenes with the Macguire family and having her backstory elaborated on further from time to time as well. -
^ Well the last sentence of your post summarises the way the to work out the age difference between Don and Marilyn by doing some mathematical problem-solving. That's how viewers have worked it out otherwise the age gap between Don and Marilyn as a couple was never explicitly stated from memory unless someone can correct me on that.
-
I think it was 23 or 24 years as Donald was born in 1945 and Marilyn in 1968 or 1969. But I do get the point you're making though. I totally agree as well. Marilyn and John make a fantastic couple. They're humorous, loveable but also serious when the need arises.
-
I'm stunned to say the least!
-
What? John is around his early 50s and Marilyn is about 45 years of age so John's hardly old enough to be her father. In real life, the actors are 11 years apart in age.

I'm just wondering how far is Home and Away in the UK behind in the current episodes airing in Australia? I know in Neighbours that Australian aired episodes are only two weeks ahead of British aired episodes.

Nathaniel "Nate" Cooper - Kyle Pryor

To insert an image to your message you need to use the image properties tool which is located just below the smiley face option and it is slightly to the left of it! This is the best way I've explained it without confusing you hopefully. You'll need a URL to insert a picture into the message as well when you enter the image properties tool. I assume this is an image of Nate (Kyle)? -

No they don't show any promos in Australia on Home and Away's double episode on Thursday after the first half of the double episode. At the end of the first episode, it goes to an commercial break at about halfway the mark and then the second episode starts. Sometimes it's even hard to tell that the second episode has begun until we see characters that we didn't see in the first half of the double episode.

In episode 5368, Sasha was said to be 15 years of age which aired on August 24 2011 in Australian screens so it's fair to say that she's either somewhere between 17 to 18 years of age. She did have a birthday on screen in episode 5497 which was aired on April 17 2012 in Australia which would have made her 16 had she been 15 in 2011 when it was said that she was that age in episode 5368. Therefore she should be turning 18 next week.

Nathaniel "Nate" Cooper - Kyle Pryor
Jezz replied to AznPride112's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I'm inclined to agree with you to a certain extent, but I think introducing family or friends may help us understand Nate's character greatly and give him more purpose on the show. If him and Ricky don't get back together it's fair to assume that Nate will struggle with being involved in major storylines apart from working at the hospital. I think they need to introduce a family member or a close friend of his to the show even if it's on a guest basis so we can gain a better understanding of his character and his history. I remember very small bits of his backstory were discussed when he was talking to Ricky in a motel room once from memory so there's potential avenues to explore with Nate in my opinion about his past and before he arrived in Summer Bay. -
We do have to remember that Alf didn't discover that him and Colleen were half-siblings until 2008 and Alf and Maureen's fling occurred in 2003. For continuity purposes it's cringeworthy to look back on after discovering that Alf and Colleen are in fact half-siblings.

Not quite true. He probably will, but fathers have a much harder time getting custody then mothers, even if the mother is deceased. Unless no one contests the rights to having custody of Harley after Jess inevitably passes away due to her illness, naturally I would assume that Heath would have custody of Harley but if Jess' parents want custody of Harley for example then Heath's chances could be dealt a blow due to the fact that he has a criminal record to start off with, but he's nevertheless changed substantially since his younger days of being wild. It would be very unfair if Heath didn't have custody of Harley after Jess dies in my opinion.
