  1. My interpretation of what the meaning of blood and sand is from the perspective of the Braxtons, specifically Brax that: "BLOOD" = It means family which Brax has always tried to protect and remain loyal to and it has been constant theme of Braxton-related storylines throughout their tenure on the show. The importance of family has been a recurring theme for the Braxtons for as long as they can remember and the notion of unity and loyalty amongst one another as brothers. "SAND" = It means their love of the beach and surfing which has been a recurring theme for the Braxtons for their whole life as well. The beach is almost like a second home to Brax, Heath and Casey in many ways. One of their favourite hobbies is surfing, but they were also said to be living on the beach literally by the time Adam Sharpe came onto the scene and 'set the boys up' so to speak in a financial capacity on top of the money that Brax had from his father's robberies. The beach is also a familiar place and safe haven for the boys as well. According to this link from YahooAnswers someone asked a similar question three years ago and referenced the phrase in an entirely different context to the answer I've given of what I think it means. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110718111001AAZvwar At the end of the day, the phrase is open to interpretation and there's no right or wrong answer of this question in my view.
  2. I love the fact that we found out more about his family life which I've been craving for, for a long time I must admit. I like the way he was around his little sister and the way he was different at home as opposed to being the 'bad boy' at school! I like the friendship that he's developing with Sasha as well.
  3. Thanks for the update Dan and great work by Red Ranger 1 to continue updating these profiles. His hard work shouldn't go unnoticed
  4. Yes Danny has a tattoo like that and so do Kyle and Casey obviously. It's only my interpretation, but I've always viewed the phrase 'all or nothing' having to do with life in general and loyalty amongst those closest to you. It's pretty much saying you're either a part of a group or you're not. It's that simple! Casey was unwilling to conform to Danny's ways hence he shot him as opposed to the pub owner in episode 5589 for instance.
  5. I think the fact that Sasha hasn't questioned his behaviour is the fact that she may actually have some underlying feelings for Matt! Nevertheless the way Matt treated Spencer recently was quite poor and he should have apologised to him on top of Sasha as well.
  6. I think Matt is a complex character in the sense that he can act like a very unlikeable person at the best of times but there's another side to him that I can see especially when he's just with Sasha or when he was with Evie at the start of the year when Oscar was on his angry pills at the time I have a feeling that Matt's inconsistent attitude may have something to do with his family life which I would love to see explored further in the near future. It's been hinted at but nothing has come of it yet. I want to know what he's background is like, whether he has siblings, is his father abusive etc. This may help us viewers gain a greater understanding of the character in general and why he acts the way he does from time to time. I like the fact that the writers have eased their way into the character of Matt rather than making him the forefront of the show straight away. I have a feeling he's going to be a favourite of viewers come the end of the year.
  7. Yes Chris is one of those versatile characters who can almost interact with anyone in the cast. I was quite pessimistic about the casting of Johnny Ruffo but I've been pleasantly surprised by how well he's done with the material considering the little acting experience he had before he joined the show. Chris has been a much better and well-defined character than someone like Spencer for instance.
  8. Yes Lisa was born in England but moved to Australia at a young age and grew up in Tasmania.
  9. A little too early to say whether I'll enjoy the character of Denny or not but I find her more bearable than the twins who have been spoilt brats at the best of times during their stint.
  10. I think Zac has moved on from Bianca if it did have any feelings for her. He's now more focused on the twins and Hannah now.
  11. I always got the impression that the city (Sydney) was about two or three hours away from Summer Bay but I could be wrong though. Also don't Tamara's parents live in South Australia or somewhere in remote bushland because that's where she first appeared when she saw Casey being held captive by Kyle in the desert?
  12. Zac and Bianca seemed right for each other but look what happened, if he is gonna ruin yet another one of Brax´s love he can just leave the show now! If heath does die or divorce Bianca she is free and Zac can make a move at her LOL Zac and Bianca were never together. Sure Bianca may have had some unresolved feelings for him before she married Heath but that lasted five minutes in the end. I really couldn't see Zac pursuing Bianca if she left Heath one way or another.
  13. If a character is on 3 episodes a week and there's about 45 weeks worth of episodes then they would have made 135 episodes appearances out of 225 episodes which is 60% of episodes in one season. I don't know where you pulled out this 30 episodes figure to be honest. If IMDB is your source I don't think it's reliable enough.
  14. Yes I agree with you. I actually find her to be a refreshing character who speaks her mind and she might be a catalyst in 'fleshing out' Kyle's character. I notice quite a few posters on this board haven't taken a liking to her but I actually like her and on top of that she's good on the eye as well!
  15. I liked how Leah mentioned that Tamara is too involved with the Braxtons and she needs to broaden her horizons in Summer Bay on Tuesday's episode. Seriously this girl needs to start becoming independent rather than always being in a relationship with someone that isn't built to last. Without a relationship with either Kyle or Casey, Tamara's quickly losing her purpose on the show.
  16. Wasn't it Jett that threw the party? Chris just gleefully accepted the idea. Yes Jett organised the party with VJ's help. Chris just went along it and enjoyed it! I can't see a resemblance between the two characters at all.
  17. Matt has the potential to be one of the best characters that the show has had in quite a while. I can't wait to see him being explored further in the future! I loved seeing his more vulnerable and caring side when he was sitting with Evie on Wednesday's episode. Matt has definitely had a tough life by the looks of it but under his tough exterior is an intelligent individual who could make something of himself if he works hard and applies himself at school or just in his life in general. For the first time in a long time he's a character that has really grown on me unexpectedly.
  18. I think the age gap between Donald and Marilyn is 23 years, not 28 years. Donald was born in 1945, whereas Marilyn was born in 1968.
  19. Yes through special consideration and yes he informed Brax of his good news.
  20. Yes that's correct. Here's a link of the character's profile on BTTB. http://www.backtothebay.net/characters/davidson_toni.shtml
  21. No I don't see a resemblance between the two characters.
  22. Great to read your own experiences of this great site Dan! I've only been a part of the BTTB forum for just under two years now but I've known about the website for about eight or nine years now since the Summer Bay stalker storyline occurred back in 2005. My first experience with the website was when I was searching for clues and ideas as to who the identity of the Summer Bay Stalker was. I was really caught up with the storyline at the time and I wanted to figure out who was the identity of the Stalker. For a while I actually thought it was Sarah Lewis even though she was dead but in the end it turned out to be 'Zoe' which was a big shock initially. After stumbling upon Back to the Bay during this time I would usually visit the website every so often to see now updates and I was tempted to join the forum but I was too busy with other commitments. But as my commitments eased throughout the years I finally took the leap to join the BTTB forum in April 2012 and I don't regret it at all! The forum experience has been loads of fun and it's fantastic to discuss a show you live and breathe with others who are just as fanatical and passionate about the show as well. There's many great posters who provide a positive contribution to the site and while you may not always agree with them on everything it's the fact that we can discuss things that involve the show that makes this forum fantastic in the first place. I feel that we have a diverse range of posters and regardless of how old you are or what your current situation is in your life the fact that people can come together because of this one common show is fantastic. To the moderators, I must say you guys do an outstanding job to maintain the peace and harmony on the forum. You guys are fair and reasonable and for that you must be commended for your efforts. To those that contribute to the forum by writing up episode summaries or character profiles or provide location shots you guys are the reason why the forum is so popular in the first place in my opinion. Whenever I want to search for a particular episode or look up a particular character this is the first resource I refer to find the information I want and it's because of you guys that the well-detailed and well-written information is available to us. Now to the most important people in the administrators consisting of Chris and Dan. I just have to simply say thank you for making all of this possible in the first place. I wouldn't be here posting this if it wasn't for you guys and the fact that you've consistently maintained this website to a high standard and improved it within this ten year timeframe must be applauded and commended. I can't say thank you enough. You are legends! Now to the website itself it's been a fantastic ten years as evidently showed by Dan and may this site continue to grow and prosper for years to come. I hope I can continue contributing on this forum and enjoy discussing the show that we all love! Thanks for everything!
  23. Yes that was quite amusing actually considering you don't catch a great white shark every day
  24. I heard that Roger Oakley who played Tom left at his own accord and Vanessa Downing decided to leave soon after because she said it wasn't the same with Tom no longer on the show. I might be wrong but I think I've read somewhere that Roger regrets leaving so soon and that him and Vanessa also say that they wished they stayed on the show for longer. No doubt that Debra Lawrence was a good replacement to Vanessa Downing despite not look anything alike.
  25. Everything's fixed now! Great job Chris
