I love Sims2, but haven't played since about September! I made a conscious decision not to play computer games during my final year of uni, Sims2 is way too addictive, once I start playing I can happily sit at my PC for 8 hours. The scary thing is, it never feels like that long, I'll think it's about 10pm, when it will really be more like 1am! I get too engrossed in Sims2 so had to give it up for a while to concentrate on uni :-( I can't wait to graduate, I'll be able to play again! The first thing I'll buy when I graduate is the Sims2 Open For Business EP!

I don't think many younger people today have. I just happen to be facinated with the 50's and 60's and the music. I know Doris Day, Temptations, Four Tops, Diana Ross and The Supremes, but I've never heard of Missy Higgins in my life! lol I like lots of different music, but mostly metal, grunge, indie and punk type stuff. Missy Higgins is an Aussie singer of today. She's great. I can handle some heavy metal, the ones that are not completley just screaming. I actually quite like most metallica songs. I will listen to punk/emo whatever its called but I can't say I love it or anything. I don't like metal where they just scream, shouting can be good, but not too much! I love Metallica, although I don't know what they were thinking when they recorded their last album! There were no guitar solos, and they have one of the finest metal guitarists in the world! Shocking really!

That's cool. I like all of that you just mentioned except indie, unless some bands i listen to are indie and i just never realised. Well, indie is quite a broad category really. Like there are 80s indie bands like The Smiths, The Cure etc. 90s indie bands like Blur, Pulp, Oasis (though they haven't made a decent album in 10 years!), Suede, Manic Street Preachers, Mansun etc. More recently, bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs are all indie bands too. So there are probably sub-categories of indie within the whole indie genre.

I wish the sun shone here in the day time! It's usually dull and wet, although it was nice and sunny today. Shame I had to stay in and do uni work :-( I don't know how you can go to bed before 8:30, that's just odd! The last time I went to bed that early I was probably about 7 years old! If I go to bed really early, I still can't get up early. I think my body just knows that there is really no point in being up early, it knows that getting up early is just wrong! lol

I think greetings cards are designed by Southerners!
-
I say "mam", it's a Northern thing. It really bugs me when it's mother's day and all the cards say "mum" on them, I don't have a "mum" I have a "mam". It's like the birthday cards for grandmas, I have a grandma and a nanna, but it's really hard to find cards that say "nanna" on them, it's either "gran" or "grandma". Lots of posh people call their parents "mummy" and "daddy", I find it quite amusing! lol I stopped saying "mammy" and "daddy" when I was about 6!

Why post a lot just to be able to post in the Oldies thread? To me, that is posting for the sake of posting, rather than posting because you actually have something to say. Sorry, but that seems a little silly to me, especially when most people just use the General Chat thread and this one usually goes pretty much unused.

Oh really? Wonder what you're doing in there at this time? :-P

Ooh, it's all sunny now! :-) The weather has been really random lately!
-
Snow has stopped, it's raining now :-(
-
It's been snowing for the last hour or so :-(
-
It's sunny and hasn't rained all day, which is unusual! The last week or so the weather has been really random, sunny one minute, hail stones the next! It's a pleasant change to have no rain today!

I keep going to use them, then remembering that they don't work. So I just do old style emoticons... :-)

Considering the maximum student loan is less than £4000 (for students outside London), it's totally crazy!

It is strange! I'd probably qualify for some sort of bursary - my parents don't earn much - but how do you get your full tuition paid? Is it some kind of scholarship? xxx No, it's just how it is if you have a low enough income. It might be different with different LEAs, not sure. I'm sure there was a section on my student loans form to apply for help with fees. Depending on your income, you can get some or all of your fees paid. You should contact your education authority about it if you aren't sure.

Newcastle is a pretty good student city, having 2 universities and thousands of students! Leeds is a really nice city, I go there shopping sometimes. Manchester is big, but cool. The Afflecks Palace is the best place outside of Camden for alternative clothing and stuff :-) I like Manchester, but don't go there as often as Leeds as it is a 2 and a half hour drive, as opposed to Leeds, which is 1 and a half hours. If you do a placement course, you only pay half the fees for the placement year, since you aren't actually at uni. You get paid too, so are less poor for a year! lol I'm lucky though, my parents don't have much money, so I get my tuition paid for by the LEA. I don't know why my parents' income matters, I'm 23! I mean, if my parents had enough money, but didn't want to spend it sending me to uni, I'd still have to pay, even though personally, I have no money! Seems a bit strange to me.

Well, I'm staying in my current job for a while. I did an industrial placement as part of my course, which means you do a 4 year degree instead of 3 and the 3rd year is spent working in a job related to the course. I did my placement in the IT department at a building society. When I finished my placement in August, I stayed with the company part-time. They have offered me full-time work once I graduate, so I'm staying put for a while. I quite like working there and the competition for graduate jobs at this time of year is pretty tough, so I'd rather get a bit more experience before I tackle any more job interviews and stuff! What do you want to do at uni? Any idea where you want to go?

My Easter "holiday" starts next week, I have 3 weeks off. But it's not a holiday, I'll barely even notice the difference between those 3 weeks and any other time of year. Actually, I have more work to do over Easter than I've had all year. I have a Java assignment due in on 9th of May A Professionalism assignment due in on 10th of May and my dissertation, which consists of an e-commerce site and a 50 page report, is due in on 2nd of May. I also have an exam at some point in May that I need to revise for. I can't wait to leave uni, it's too stressful! All the stress is giving me grey hairs! I found 2 this morning! :-(

Er, ok Ryan! My friend really loves Mike Oldfield, I think he has all of his albums (legal copies too!) He wanted to get a tubular bell tattooed on his shoulder, but never got round to it!

The weather has vastly improved in the last couple of hours, it's dry now, slightly sunny even!

Not all pregnant women get large breasts or put a lot of weight on elsewhere. If she is excercising regularly then there is no reason why she should put on too much extra weight. Lots of women put on a lot of extra weight when they are pregnant, but not all women do. Anyway, if she was just pretending to be pregnant, that would be up to her, Tom can't force her to do anything, she's a grown woman with her own mind.
-
So, what exactly has he done to Katie (other than the obvious!) She's pregnant... that's all I can see from that photo, it's not like she's being burned at the stake!

EEEWWW that is so gross!! I hate when people post links like that I just feel compelled to look at it and then feel sick afterwards And that's a really mature response to a serious issue of human suffering and injustice.
