It's been ages since I updated. Been very busy. Anyway, I am one day late to celebrate the anniversary of starting this fanfiction. Cheers to many more chapters, and thanks to everyone who is on this journey with me. Enjoy ? Chapter 549 Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Background music Greg and Bobby’s theme “Look, its not what you think” Greg said “Come on mate, I’m not stupid.” Nick said and Greg sat down “Yeah you’re right. No point in kidding myself” Greg said as the reality began to hit him about what he had been doing with Fiona. “None of this would’ve happened if Frank never came back” Greg said “So its Franks fault that you are cheating on your girlfriend? Nick said “Yeah, he’s always around Nick. I feel like I cant breath or have a proper relationship with Bobby. He uses Sophie to get to Bobby. Put yourself in my shoes, how would you feel? Greg said “I wouldn’t cheat on my girlfriend, but I understand that it cant be easy” Nick said and sighed. In a way he felt bad for Greg even though he wasn’t excusing his behavior “Being with Fiona..its just easy. I don’t have to think about Frank and Sophie or anything else” Greg said “That’s great, but what about Bobby? she hasn’t done anything to deserve any of this” Nick said and Greg sighed “I know..neither has Fiona. You know…she told me that she loved me and I felt so guilty because I couldn’t say it back” Greg said “Well you have to make a choice. You cant string two women along like this” Nick said “I know…I guess I need to break things off with Fiona” Greg said “Is that what you want?” Nick said “Yeah, Bobby and I are a family. I wont let Frank get in the way of that” Greg said “So are you going to tell her?” Nick said and Greg shook his head no “I hope you wont say anything either” Greg said “The only reason I said something to you is because Bobby is a mate. Its not my business” Nick said “I’m glad you did because it made me wake up and realize what I’m doing and how it can potentially ruin the best thing I’ve ever had in my life” Greg said and sighed Background music ends Caravan Summer Bay “Are you sure that you can look after Sophie? I’ll ask Michael if I can leave early” Frank said as he stood in the kitchen with Pippa “It’s fine. Gives me time to do a few things around here before we get on the road” Pippa said as she wiped a plate “How are you feeling today, you know about everything?” Pippa said as Frank drank his coffee “Annoyed that I have to see Greg’s face at work. I cant get that image out of my head. The one of Sophie crying her eyes out under the table” Frank said “So what have you decided about Mrs Malloy?” Pippa said and Frank sighed. “If I get her involved then she might think that me and Bobby cant look after Sophie, and I don’t want that. Besides, Sophie is already settled at Bobby’s she got her own room and a routine. I don’t want to ruin all of that.” Frank said “I think you are doing the right thing” Pippa said “Thanks…even though it doesn’t feel like the right thing, I have to put Sophie first” Frank said “So, an early morning visit from Marilyn?” Pippa said “Yeah she heard about what happened and came to see if Sophie was alright” Frank said “That was nice of her” Pippa said “Yeah, she told me about some valentine dance that the resort are having. I said I would go. I need a night out after everything that has been going on” Frank said then he drank his coffee and put the cup in the sink “I better go, I don’t want to be late” Frank said and he kissed the top of Pippa’s head and walked out of the kitchen and over towards Sophie who was eating her breakfast “Sweetheart, I have to go to work now. Stay with Grandma Pippa and Ill be back soon” Frank said and Sophie nodded. He kissed her on her forehead “I love you” Frank said and Sophie nodded which disappointed Frank “See you later sweetheart” Frank said as he kissed Sophie on the top of her head “Bye Frank” Finlay said as she walked into the living room wearing his t-shirt “Bye” Frank said and walked out of the house. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Emma stuffed her face with the sausage eggs and toast that Bobby had made her. She felt like she had not eaten for a month. “Can I get you some more?” Bobby said. Emma looked up at Bobby “Some more toast if you’re offering” Emma said and smiled as there was a knock on the back door and Greg appeared “Hi” Greg said. Bobby looked at him as she put some bread into the toaster “Hi Dad” Sam said with toast in his mouth “Hello mate” Greg said and smiled “How is Sophie?” Greg said Background music- Bobby and Greg’s theme “She’s still at the caravan park” Bobby said and she picked up a cloth and began wiping down the kitchen counter and she thought about what happened or nearly happened with Frank “Look about last night, I really am sorry. It was an accident. I didn’t hit her on purpose” Greg said and Bobby sighed “I would never do anything to hurt Sophie or you” Greg said and he stopped Bobby from cleaning and she looked up at him “Please believe me” Greg said as Bobby looked at him “Yeah, I believe you” Bobby said and Greg bent down and hugged her. “Thank you. I would never do anything to hurt you…I promise” Greg said as Bobby hugged him and he close his eyes and remembered the conversation he had with Nick and sighed. Background music ends Bayside Diner- Summer Bay “Two coffees and a Danish to take away?” I’ll be right with you” Colleen said. She was just about to go into the kitchen for the Danish when the phone started to ring “Hello Bayside Diner” Colleen said “Hello?” Colleen said again then she put the phone down and walked into the kitchen Army Barracks- Brisbane Martin waited until he heard the dialing tone then he put the phone down and sighed. This was third time that he had tried to phone Carly, but every time he did, she was never there. He picked up the calendar on his desk and flicked through the days until he reached the day that was circled. It was the beginning of his leave. He was just going to have to wait a little while longer until he fulfilled his promise to Sarah. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay “I hope I’m not disturbing your day” Emma said “Not at all. Greg is going to take Sam to the creche, so I can go home with you” Bobby said and she saw a change in Emma’s face “Have you changed your mind about telling Alf and Ailsa?” Bobby said as she sat down next to Emma “Bobby I’m scared” Emma said “I’ll be with you” Bobby said “I know, and that’s not what I’m scared about. They are going to want to know who the father is” Emma said “Well if you don’t want to tell them then you don’t have to right now. The most important thing is to do whats right for you and the baby” Bobby said “Thanks…is it alright if we tell them later, I just want to stay here for a while. I’m tired” Emma said “Sure. I’ll get going to the diner give you some time to yourself. Ill be back in a few hours to check on you” Bobby said “Thank you Bobby” Emma said “If you get hungry there is some lasagna in the fridge” Bobby said as she picked up her keys from the table “Ok..thank you again for everything” Emma said “You’re welcome” Bobby said and she left the house. Emma covered herself with the blanket and drifted off to sleep. Harris Residence- Kiana “I didn’t expect to see you back here so soon” Fiona said and smiled “I had to pick up a car part in the next town” Greg said as he closed the door behind him “Do you want a cup of tea or anything” Fiona said “No, I cant stay long” Greg said “I’m glad you came over, I wanted to tell you my good news” Fiona said “Yeah? Whats that?” Greg said “Remember I said I applied to that design program? I got in” Fiona said “That’s great, well done” Greg said and he walked over to Fiona and kissed her cheek. She put her arms around him and was just about to kiss him, and he pulled away. “Sit down, we need to talk” Greg said Background music- Emotional background music “Look, I really like you and I have enjoyed the time that we have spent together” Greg said as Fionas heart sank “But I think that we need to end things” Greg said and he looked at Fiona “But I thought things were going great” Fiona said “I know, but Nick…he saw us” Greg said “And hes threatening to tell Bobby?” Fiona said and she leaned back on her chair and folded her arms “No, hes not, but he made me realize that I am not being fair to you or Bobby” Greg said “So you have made up your mind?” Fiona said “Yeah, I think its for the best. I don’t want to continue hurting either of you” Greg said and he stood up “I need to go” Greg said and he began walking to the door. Fiona sighed and she got up and followed behind him. She knew that this would happen one day. Greg stopped and turned around before he opened the door “I think its best if you don’t clean the house anymore” Greg said “I suppose” Fiona said “I hope we can still be friends” Greg said and Fiona looked at him and didn’t respond. He leaned forward and kissed her cheek and looked into her eyes and before he knew it they began kissing passionately and tearing each others clothes off… Background music ends

A cold draft made her shiver as she reached out her arm and touched the empty space next to her. She pulled the covers over her shoulders and closed her eyes…. Frank sighed as he leaned on the wall and allowed the water to run over his body. The events of yesterday ran though his mind. He felt like such a failure, and began wondering if he had made the right decision to come back, because nothing is how he expected it to be, and everyday things were getting worse… Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Nick lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling. It was really none of his business, but all he could replay in his mind was seeing Greg and Fiona. Bobby was a mate when he needed one. He hated being stuck in the middle even though technically he wasn’t. He felt like he had to do something, but he wasn’t sure what he had to do. Beach- Summer bay Flashback Carly- I’m going to fall Matt- No you’re not just hold on to me Carly- Matt I’m going to fall Matt- No you’re not, just look ahead, don’t look down Carly- Ok, just don’t let me go Matt- I won’t ever let you go Flashback ends Carly wiped the tears from her cheek as she remembered the time when Matt was teaching her how to surf. It felt like such a long time ago…a different lifetime…a time when she was happy. A time when she was with someone who loved her. Now none of that mattered, this was her life now.. She probably deserved it Carly though to herself as she got up from the sand and made her way back home. Background music ends Beach- Summer Bay Shaunna stopped swimming and ran out of the water and along the beach. Eventually she stopped, looked at her watch and smiled. She was 30 seconds faster than her personal best. She picked up the towel on the sand and began to wipe her face, neck and arms. She began walking back to the surf club as she thought about the great dinner she had with Mrs. Ross and Haydn. Last night Mrs. Ross was showing her photos of Bobby and Franks wedding, and told her how Bobby ended up being her niece. “Oops, sorry” Shaunna was brought back to reality when she realized that she almost bumped into Shannon. “No its my fault, I was miles away” Shaunna said. “No it really was my fault, I should’ve been looking where I was going…well I’ll see you later” Shannon said and began to walk away. “Hey is everything alright?” Shaunna said and Shannon sighed “It’s nothing, I don’t want to bore you with my problems” Shannon said “As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved” Shaunna said and Shannon smiled “I’ll keep that in mind” Shannon said “Do you want to grab a coffee or something? Shaunna said “I have to get going to my parents’ house…maybe another time?” Shannon said “I’ll hold you to that” Shaunna said and Shannon smiled “Absolutely” Shannon said and smiled as she walked away. Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Greg whistled as he wiped his body after he got out of the shower. He had a great night with Fiona that made him forget what happened yesterday. He threw the towel into the dirty towel bin and grabbed his t-shirt and trousers. He put them on then opened the bathroom door. “G’day” Greg said as he saw Shane “what’s good about it?” Shane said and he left the house as Greg laughed “Someone is in a bad mood” Greg said as Nick briefly looked up at Greg then continued to read the paper and drink his coffee. “Hey I was thinking, maybe we should have a blokes night out this weekend. After the week I have had, I need it” Greg said as he poured some cereal into a bowl. “There is a new club open in the Yabbie Creek..what do you reckon?” Greg said as he poured some milk in his bowl and sat opposite Nick. Nick sighed then he got up from the table and walked into the kitchen as Greg looked at him. “Is there something wrong? Greg said confused “No” Nick said as he washed the cup and put it on the side “Are you sure? You haven’t said two words to me” Greg said as he put some cereal in his mouth. Nick looked at Greg eating and sighed. “There is nothing wrong” Nick said and he walked out of the living room. Greg shrugged his shoulders then continued eating his cereal. Nick turned and looked at Greg before he went into his room. He usually kept out of the business of other folks but Bobby was a mate, and he hated that Greg was cheating on her. Now he had to decide if he was going to do something about it. Beach- Summer Bay Background music- Greg and Bobby’s theme Bobby sighed as she walked along the beach. It felt like déjà vu. She was here yesterday, and now she was back here again. Bobby sighed and stopped walking. She threw her shows on the sand and sat down and stared at the water. The water was still clear and blue. As Bobby stared at the water she started going over what happened yesterday with Greg hitting Sophie, and what she almost did with Frank and started feeling guilty. Being with Frank always felt so right, and her body always reacted to his touch, but she knew what would’ve happened if she let it. She would be potentially ruining everything she had worked for, and she wasn’t going to do that. Greg and Sam were her future. Bobby inhaled deeply then she exhaled and looked at her watch.She had to get home soon to get Sam ready for the creche. Flashback Bobby- This is lovely Greg, thank you. Greg- Every time you look at it, I want you to remember that I love you, and every tick of the clock is me counting down until when I can see you again Flashback ends Bobby smiled as she looked at the watch and pressed it up to her chest as she thought of that special time at Christmas when Greg gave her the watch. She knew she wanted to be with him, and she realized that she needed to stay away from Frank if that was going to happen. As Bobby began to walk back to the beach house, she once again saw a familiar face sitting on the sand. She walked over to Emma and the closer she got, she realized that she was crying again “Emma, this is the second time I’ve seen you like this what’swrong?” Bobby said as she knelt infront of Emma. “Oh Bobby…please help me” Emma said as she burst into tears and held on to a confused Bobby. Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Greg washed the breakfast bowl and put it in the rack next to the sink as Nick came out of his room “I’ll ask Adam and Ben if they are up for a night out” Greg said as Nick turned his back to him “Look if I’ve done something mate, at least tell me. We live under the same roof” Greg said and Nick turned around and looked at him “I don’t like to get involved in other people’s business, but Bobby is a mate, so I have to say something…I know about you and Fiona” Nick said as Greg stared at him with a shocked look on his face. Background music ends Caravan Park- Summer Bay Pippa opened the front door to see Marilyn smiling at her “Good Morning Mrs. Fletcher, I hope I didn’t wake you” Marilyn said “Good Morning Marilyn. No, we are all awake” Pippa said “Is Frank home?” Marilyn said “Yes, he is, come in” Pippa said and She opened the door for Marilyn to enter the house “Oh, there he is” Frank said as he came into the living room. “I’ll go up and help the girls get ready” Pippa said as she went upstairs. “G’day” Frank said “Hi, I hope you don’t mind me coming over, I heard about what happened yesterday, and I wanted to see if Sophie was alright” Marilyn said “Physically she’s fine, but shes back to no talking again” Frank said and sighed “Oh that is a shame. She was doing so well” Marilyn said Background music- Have you ever been alone “Yeah I know. Lets go outside” Frank said “ok” Marilyn said as she followed Frank outside and they sat on the bench near Marilyn’s car “Are you ok?” Marilyn said after a short uncomfortable pause “It just hurts to see your little girl cry you know” Frank said and sighed “I know…I’m sure that Sophie knows that you love her” Marilyn said “Yeah, but I wasn’t there when she needed me” Frank said “Oh Frank, don’t beat yourself up about it. What’s important is that she knows that you are there now and that you love her” Marilyn said as she put her hand on Franks arm. “Yeah, you’re right…thanks” Frank said and smiled “You’re welcome” Marilyn said and looked at her watch. “I better get going, I don’t want to be late for work” Marilyn said “Thanks for coming” Frank said “That’s quite alright” Marilyn said as she got up and walked towards her car “Hey you were saying something about a dance?” Frank said as Marilyn smiled to herself and turned around and looked at Frank “Yes, the valentine’s day dance at the resort, but it’s alright, with everything going on ill understand if you don’t want to go” Marilyn said as she got into her car “Why not, I wouldn’t mind a night out” Frank said “Great…well I’ll see you later. Have a good day” Marilyn said as she started the car engine “Yeah, you too” Frank said and he walked back into the house as Marilyn drove off smiling. Finlay watched as Marilyn drove away then she closed the curtain and walked out of the bedroom. Background music ends Simpson Residence- Summer Bay “G’day” Grant said as Bobby came into the house with Emma “Hi” Bobby said “Is everything alright..how is Sophie?” Grant said “She’s fine. She’s going to stay with Frank today” Bobby said “Oh right…anyway, I better get to work before the boss fires me” Grant said and smiled “Ok..see you later” Bobby said as Emma went to sit on the couch “Can I get you anything?” Bobby said as she walked over to Emma who shook her head then she burst into tears again. Background music- Sophies theme (Which is now Emma’s theme) Bobby picked up the tissue box and handed Emma some tissues “Are you going to tell me what’s wrong?” Bobby said as she sat next to Emma who wiped her face. “Bobby I didn’t mean for this to happen, I know I’m going to get into a lot of trouble” Emma said “I’m sure whatever it is, Alf and Ailsa will understand” Bobby said as Emma shook her head no “No, they wont. I’ve already caused so much trouble for them” Emma said as she cried “I know them, they love you that’s why they welcomed you into their home” Bobby said “Not after this, I know what happened the last time, ill be all alone. They will send me away. I know what happened to Roo” Emma said “What do you mean?” Bobby said confused and Emma looked at her “I’m pregnant” Emma said and Bobby looked at her shocked. “Bobby I’m so scared…you are the only person I’ve told” Emma said and she cried. Bobby put her arm around her and Emma cried on her shoulder. Bobby now understood what Emma meant and her mind went back to when Roo went to live with Morag. Bobby listened as Emma told her that she only had sex twice and she felt silly for not using protection, but she was so in love that she felt that it didn’t matter. “They will send me away, I know they will” Emma said and Bobby looked at her “Well I don’t think it’s a good idea to make assumptions, but I do think you need to tell them” Bobby said “I cant” Emma said “What about the father…does he know?” Bobby said “No” Emma said “You’re going to have to tell Alf and Ailsa, I mean they will find out eventually” Bobby said and Emma sighed. Bobby was right. She had to get this over and done with. “Yeah, I suppose. Will you come with me to tell them?” Emma said as she looked at Bobby. Bobby sighed. She wasn’t really on good terms with Alf, and didn’t want to get involved, but Emma trusted her enough to tell her, so she felt she had to. “Ok, I will” Bobby said “Thank you” Emma said “You’re welcome” Bobby said and smiled “You look really tired, how about I go and get Sam up, you can have a nap and ill fix us some breakfast?” Bobby said and Emma nodded her head and smiled “That will be great, thanks” Emma said as she took off her shoes and stretched out on the couch. She was so tired. Bobby covered her with a blanket. “Sam and Sophie are lucky to have you as their foster mom…I wish you were mine too” Emma said and smiled. Bobby gently caressed her cheek as Emma closed her eyes. She was tired but for the first time in a long time she felt some relief. She knew that she made the right decision telling Bobby. She put her hand on her stomach and drifted off into sleep. Background music ends

She could hear Sandra talking but she wasn’t listening to what she was saying. “What do you think?” Sandra said as Emma put the knives and forks on the table “Emma!” Sandra said and Emma looked at her “What?” Emma said “Did you hear a word of what I said?” Sandra said “What?” Emma said “I said Viv invited us to come and visit again. Stay for the weekend” Sandra said “I don’t know” Emma said “Why not, it will be fun, they have a big house and they live a few minutes from the beach like here” Sandra said “I’ll think about it” Emma said “What’s there to think about, its not like you are doing anything else” Sandra said and Emma looked at her “Just leave me alone” Emma said and rushed out of the kitchen and into the bathroom. She closed and locked the door behind her just before she burst into tears. Caravan Park- Summer Bay “Sweetheart, you sure you don’t want your dinner” Frank said as Sophie hugged him tight. He could feel her shaking her head no. She immediately stopped talking again. He was so angry with Bobby. He couldn’t believe that Greg hit Sophie, or why Bobby would leave Sophie in his care. Finlay stared at Frank as he held Sophie. He was such a good father, and she couldn’t wait for him to be a dad to their kids one day. Finlay gently tapped Franks foot with hers and he looked at her but didn’t react. After what happened this morning, she knew he wanted her. Pippa looked up from her plate and could see the look for anger on Frank’s face then they both looked at the door when they heard a key opening the doors lock. Frank locked eyes with Bobby then she turned around and closed the door behind her. “Hi” Bobby said and Finlay silently sighed and rolled her eyes. “Hello Sweetheart” Pippa said as Bobby went over and sat next to Frank “Hi Frank” Bobby said and Frank ignored her “Hi Sweetheart” Bobby said and Sophie opened her eyes. Sophie was about to go to Bobby when Frank got up. “Let’s watch some cartoons ok?” Frank said and kissed Sophies forehead as she nodded. He walked over to the couch as Bobby looked at Sophie. “Sal go upstairs and pick your clothes” Pippa said “But I want to watch cartoons too” Sal said “You can watch cartoons later” Pippa said “Ok” Sally said reluctantly and walked up the stairs “How are Viv and Tammy?” Bobby said “Yeah, fine..I’ll just go upstairs..ill wash the dishes later” Steve said and Pippa nodded. Bobby got up and walked over to the couch and sat next to Frank and Sophie. She gently caressed Sophie’s cheek. “Ill take Christopher upstairs and change him” Finlay said “Thank you” Pippa said “Frank” Bobby was interrupted “Not in front of Sophie…in the spare room..sweetheart you sit here, and Ill be right back ok” Frank said and he gave Sophie her teddy bear and covered her with a blanket that was on the couch. Frank got up from the couch and Bobby followed him into the spare room while Pippa watched concerned. Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme Frank turned the light on and closed the door behind Bobby. “What the hell was you thinking?” Frank said annoyed “Frank I don’t know what happened. I just left for a few minutes to go to the resort and when I got back, Sam told me you took Sophie” Bobby said “I tell you what happened, your boyfriend hit my daughter” Frank said annoyed “He said it was an accident” Bobby said “You wasn’t even there, so how do you know if it was an accident or not?” Frank said “I know Greg, he wouldn’t hurt Sophie on purpose” Bobby said “I cant believe you are defending him” Frank sand shaking his head “I’m not defending him” Bobby was interrupted “Yes, you are. He just undid all the progress Sophie has made. Do you know she’s gone back to not talking again” Frank said and Bobby looked at him and sighed. “You might as well find out now, first thing in the morning, I’m ringing Mrs Malloy. I’m going to tell her about what happened then file to have Sophie removed from you, and that animal” Frank said and he opened the door and left the room. Bobby sat on the bed and sighed. She couldn’t believe this was happening. She knew Greg. Sometimes he made comments, but she knew he would never intentionally hurt Sophie. “Can I come in?” Pippa said and she walked into the room when Bobby nodded “I’m sure you must’ve heard the shouting” Bobby said and sighed as Pippa sat next to her “What happened?” Pippa said “I don’t know, I was home then I got a call from the resort, so I had to go and take care of something. I told Greg that Frank was bringing Sophie home, and he should give the kids their dinner and I would be back soon..thats all…and now Frank is going to tell Mrs Malloy that I am a bad mother” Bobby said as her voice broke and a tear ran down her cheek “You’re not a bad mother” Pippa said as she put her arm around Bobby “Frank thinks I am” Bobby said as she wiped her cheek with the back of her hand “Sweetheart, I know there has been tension between Frank and Greg” Pippa was interrupted “Yes, but Greg wouldn’t hurt Sophie to get back at Frank. Carly had never seen him before, but as always she had to pay for both meals. Carly walked into the toilet and closed the door. She took out the small bottle of vodka from the pocket of her apron and drank it and closed her eyes. The burning of the liquid didn’t bother her anymore just like all the insults from Ben…nothing hurt anymore because this was her life and she had become used to it. “Hello Bayside Diner After Dark” Lance said when he answered phone Dibble Residence- Brisbane Martin put his hand over the receiver. He looked at the calendar on the wall. He had leave in three weeks. He had no choice but to go back to Summer Bay. He closed his eyes and prayed that it wouldn’t be too late. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Greg walked down the stairs to see Grant mopping the floor “Sam asleep?” Grant said “Yeah…You didn’t have to do that; I was coming to do it” Greg said “Its alright” Grant said “Bobby not back?” Greg said “No” Grant said as he poured the mop water outside and rinsed it clean and put it away “It really was an accident..this thing with Sophie. I would never hurt her intentionally. Ok, I admit that I cant stand her “so called dad”, but I would never hurt a child” Greg said as Grant looked at him. Caravan Park- Summer Bay “You want to sleep in mummy’s bed? Frank said as he got to the bedroom with Sophie. She nodded. She had been in her mummy’s old bedroom before. Frank helped Sophie climb into the bed and pull the covers up to her waist. “Now what story would you like?” Frank said as he help two books up then he looked at the door as he heard a knock “Is it alright if I come in to say good night to Sophie?” Bobby said. Frank didn’t respond. She kept out of his way by doing some cleaning and washing the dishes. “Hi sweetheart, did you have a good day?” Bobby said as she sat next to Sophie and put her arm around her. Sophie missed her mum today and gave her a big cuddle. Bobby sighed and closed her eyes to prevent tears from forming because her daughter still loved her. “Sweetheart which story would you like?” Frank said and Sophie pointed at the Cinderella story Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme Sophie snuggled under Bobby’s arm as Frank read her the story. Regardless of anything that had happened today, here they were on the night of their anniversary, with their daughter. Finlay turned the bathroom light off and closed the door. She was about to go into her room when she noticed that the light was still on in the next room. She gently pushed the door open to see Frank reading to Sophie and she smiled. Everyday she was falling in love with him more. What happened between them this morning let her know that he wanted her. It was just a matter of time before they were together. Finlay smiled and quietly went to her room. Kiana Nick yawned as he slowed the car down at the red traffic light. It had been a long day, and he hated going to these mandatory training sessions, but at least it got him off patrol for the day. He looked at his watch. He was only fifteen minutes away from home, but he was hungry so he made a note to stop off at the pizza place. As he thought about the toppings he wanted on his pizza he noticed a familiar car turning into the road and parking in at the opposite house. He saw a familiar figure get out of the car and knock on the door. A few seconds later he saw a familiar figure come to the door and kiss the man. Nick looked on shocked then the honking of a car behind him alerted him of the traffic light change then he drove off. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Marilyn smiled as she saw Grant gently playing his guitar as she closed the front door. “G’day” Grant said as he strummed a melody “Hi, it has been a long day” Marilyn said as she put her bags down and took her shoes off. “I thought I would treat myself and get a new dress for the valentines dance” Marilyn said and she pulled a dress out from a bag “Valentines dance?” Grant said “Yes, the resort is having a dance for Valentine’s Day for charity”. Marilyn said and she took the flyer out of her bag and showed it to Grant. He didn’t stop playing the melody on his guitar but looked at the flyer and smiled. “Oh here I am going on about the dance, and I didn’t ask you how your day was” Marilyn said “No worries, it was fine. Nice to get out of Summer Bay for a while” Grant said as Marilyn looked at her watch. “Has Frank been here?” Marilyn said “Yes, he was here earlier. He took Sophie with him” Grant said “Oh, why?” Marilyn said “Greg accidently hit Sophie and things got out of hand. I think it was a good idea that he took her so everyone can calm down” Grant said “Oh no, maybe I should go over there, to see if she is alright” Marilyn said as she put her shoes back on. “Bobby is over there” Grant said and he saw the look of disappointment on Marilyn’s face “Yes, of course she would be there..well I better get to bed then…good night” Marilyn said and faked a smile. Grant sighed as he watched Marilyn go upstairs. She closed her bedroom door and put the bags on the chair opposite her bed then sat on the bed and sighed. Then she got up and reached for the bag with the new dress and took it out. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at herself. Caravan Park- Summer Bay Steve stared at the ceiling. Even though his family knew, telling Viv and Sandra made it feel real. He was really leaving Summer Bay in three weeks. Steve sighed then he turned on his side and closed his eyes to try and get to sleep before Frank came into the room. Bobby looked down and she could see that Sophie had fallen asleep. She gently lay Sophie’s head on the pillow and kissed her on the forehead then she got up from the bed. Frank kissed Sophie and tucked her teddy bear in next to her and pulled the covers up to her shoulders and sighed. He walked over to the window and stared at the view of the caravan park. He was feeling so many different emotions right now. “Frank” Bobby said as she stood behind him. Frank turned around and looked at Bobby. “I know you probably hate me right now, and you have every right” Bobby said in a low voice as Frank sighed and sat on Carly’s old bed. “I wasn’t defending Greg. I know he hit Sophie, there is no excuse for what he did” Bobby said as Frank stared at her. “What you said about Mrs Malloy…she’s my daughter too Frank, and this hurts..please don’t take her away from me” Bobby said as tears formed in her eyes. Background music ends Stewart Residence- Summer Bay “It’s not right Ails” Alf said as he opened the curtain to see Revhead’s car parked outside the house. “We can’t keep her tied up in the bedroom” Ailsa said as Alf walked away from the window. “I know, but he’s far too old for her” Alf said “And if we stop her from seeing him, shes just going to do it behind out backs and you know how that will end up” Ailsa said “That’s what I’m, trying to avoid” Alf said and sighed. “Surprising that the wild one is tucked in her room while the quiet one is out” Alf said as Ailsa rolled her eyes. Sandra and Revhead pulled away from kissing each other. “Your eyes are beautiful” Revhead said as Sandra blushed “You think so?” Sandra said “Yeah, I do” Revhead said “Let me take you out on Saturday night. We have a new cinema opened at the Yabbie Creek” Revhead said “Ok..but I have to be home by 11” Sandra said and looked down disappointed “Whats wrong?” Revhead said “I sound like a kid, “I have to be home by 11” “ Sandra said mimicking her voice “There is nothing wrong with that, your foster parents are right to give you a curfew” Revhead said “Yeah I know, but I am sure your other girlfriends didn’t have to be home at 11” Sandra said “Shhh I’m with you, and that is all that matters” Revhead said and Sandra felt butterflies in her stomach. Somehow he was lying on the bed and Bobby was lying in front of his. The last he remembered was he and Bobby sitting side by side. It didn’t matter, she was lying in his arms on their anniversary. Frank kissed her ear then the side of her face. Bobby began to move and she opened her eyes and realized that she had fallen asleep in Franks arms. She felt him kissing her ear and neck. She didn’t stop him, and turned around to face him as they began to kiss. It felt so right being here with him on the night of their anniversary. She didn’t stop him as he took of her t-shirt as they continued to kiss slowly but passionately. Finlay opened her eyes. She couldn’t sleep. The room was too hot. She got out of bed and opened the window then decided to go downstairs and get some water. She quietly opened the door and was about to go downstairs when she heard some noises from one of the bedrooms. She gently pushed the door open and her heart fell to the floor as the moonlight from the window illuminated Frank and Bobby kissing and in the process of taking each others clothes off. Finlay slowly closed the door, and went back into her room before a tear ran down her cheek. Harris Residence- Kiana Greg kissed Fiona with urgency as he entered a place he knew very well. After leaving Bobby’s this is the only place he wanted to come to. Fiona wrapped her arms around Greg. It was not a secret anymore that she was in love with him. A love she never expected, but a love she wanted to hold on to. Caravan Park- Summer Bay Bobby kissed Franks chest as she helped him take his t-shirt off. Being here with him felt so right…Frank kissed Bobby’s neck then made his way down to her bare chest where he began to devour her breast. Bobby quietly exhaled and gently ran her fingers through Frank’s hair as her body voluntarily responded to Frank’s touch. Being here with him felt so right. It felt like no time had passed at all…like this was meant to be. Bobby closed her eyes as Frank continued to make her body feel good…then reality began to set in. Every part of his body was aching for her right now. Bobby managed to pull away “Frank no…this is not a good idea” Bobby said and she got up from the bed and grabbed her bra and began to put it on. “Wait…I need you right now” Frank said and pulled her towards him “I can’t do this..we cant do this..I need to go” Bobby said and she pulled herself away from him and put her t-shirt on Frank sighed. He slowly got up from the bed and pulled the blankets down to tidy the bed. He picked his t-shirt up from the floor and put it on just as Bobby kissed Sophie on the head again and left the bedroom. Frank followed Bobby and stood at the top of the stairs and watched her leave the house. He leaned against the door frame and ran his hands over his face. A few seconds later he heard Bobby shut and lock the front door. She was gone. A few seconds later he heard a door open. He turned around to see Finlay by the door. She held her hand out to Frank. He looked at her then at her hand and took it as she led him into the bedroom and closed the door… Background music ends

Wellness centre- The City Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme Dr Murphy sat down at the small table and chair opposite Sophie as Frank stepped out of the room. She stared at Sophie who coloured in the frog with the green pencil. She was impresses with the way the little girl was concentrating on not colouring outside the line. “Sophie do you like school? Dr Murphy said and Sophie nodded without looking up. Do you like living with your new family?” Dr Murphy said and Sophie nodded while concentrating on coloring in the frog. “ Frank said he is taking you to see playschool live. Are you excited?” Dr Murphy said and Sophie looked up and nodded. Dr Murphy noticed that Sophie’s eyes lit up when she mentioned Frank, but that is not what she wanted. She wanted Sophie to open up more, so she could assess the extent of her emotional trauma. “Sophie…do you remember when you lived with your other dad?” Dr Murphy said and Sophie immediately put the pencil down and grabbed her teddy bear, and burst into tears. “It’s ok Sophie, you don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to” Dr Murphy said. She felt a bit guilty for asking that question, because she can clearly see that Sophie has made progress since her visit. “Here, take this tissue and wipe your face” Dr Murphy said and Sophie gently took the tissue and wiped her cheeks. “I’ll ask Frank to come back in ok? Dr Murphy said and Sophie nodded. Dr Murphy sighed and got up from the table. This was part of her job that she didn’t like, seeing children cry when she brought up their past. “Frank you can come back in now” Dr Murphy said after she opened the door and popped her head around the corner. Frank immediate got up from the chair and followed Dr murphy into the office. Sophie immediately got up and rushed over to Frank. He picked her up and she hugged his neck tight. “What happened?” Frank said concerned. “I’m sorry, that was my fault. I want to assess the extent of Sophies trauma, and I asked her about her experience living with her biological father, and it upset her” Dr Murphy. “She’s obviously not ready to talk about it” Frank said annoyed as he gently stroked Sophie’s hair “Yes I see that” Dr Murphy said “Look, I think these meetings might be a waste of time, you can see that Sophie’s alright” Frank said as he looked at Dr Murphy with an annoyed look on his face. “Sorry that you feel that way, but I just want to help” Dr Murphy said and Frank sighed “Yeah I understand” Frank said “Sweetheart” Frank said and Sophie looked at him. “Dr Murphy only wants to help, that’s why she’s asking you questions. Newton Residence- Moruya, New South Wales Viv put glasses of lemonade on the table and sat next to Sandra “I’m so glad you both came, I’ve really missed you both” Viv said “I know, letters and phone calls are not the same” Sandra said and smiled. Viv was really her best friend, and she was happy to visit her, even though she wished she was back home with her boyfriend. As Viv told him and Sandra about school, Steve’s mind drifted. Can I give her a message?” Shannon said Army Barracks- Brisbane “No, I’ll try again later” Martin said and he put the phone down. He didn’t know who answered the phone, but he was not willing to leave any messages that might mess up his plan. He wrote down 6 o’clock on the paper with the numbers and put it back in his pocket. He promised Sarah he was going to make Lt Lucini pay, and that is exactly what he was going to do. Background music ends The Bistro- The City “Thank you” Sophie said softly as Narelle put some sandwiches and juice in front of her. Narelle smiled and walked over to Frank as Sophie ate her sandwiches and watched a small tv that Narelle brought out from Matt’s office. “Oh Frank, she is a sweet little girl” Narelle said and Frank smiled and took a sip of his coffee. “I cant believe that you and Bobby are her parents, who would’ve thought that after everything you two have been through” Narelle said as she sat down next to Frank “Yeah, I know. If she was honest with herself, she wasn’t in the mood considering what today is. Ailsa said “Yes, I wanted to take Bobby out to lunch” Greg said “Go on, we have enough hands here” Ailsa said and smiled as she walked back towards the counter “That’s settled then” Greg said and winked at Bobby. Beach- Moruya, New South Wales Steve sat on the sand as he watched Sandra, Viv and Tammy play ball with Mr Mitchell. Steve sighed. Realty was starting to sink in. In three weeks he would be leaving Australia, probably for good. He knew it was the right thing to do. Playschool Live- The City Frank watched as Sophie danced and sang along to the playschool songs. He smiled. Even though the day was being overshadowed by the fact that today is his wedding anniversary, this was still a dream come true. Taking his own child to playschool was something he always promised himself he was going to do. After a few more songs, all the children began lining up to take photos with the presenters. Frank know that Sophie liked the presenter Alex Papps, and he watched as Sophies face lit up when Alex gave her a little doll, and posed for a photo with her. Frank smiled as Alex shook his hand and they waited in line to get their photos. He knew that today was going to be a day that Sophie would never forget, and it was definitely going to be a day that he would never forget. Sands Resort- Summer Bay “Thank you, bye” Marilyn said as the customer closed the door. Marilyn looked at the clock on the wall. She had been going nonstop since she got to work, and realized it was time for a lunch break. She smiled to herself and she thought at going to the diner and getting some sandwiches and taking lunch to Frank. Then she realized that today is Wednesday, and Frank had taken Sophie to see playschool live. Marilyn went to the back to get her bag, and when took her purse out, she noticed the flyer for the valentine’s day dance, and smiled to herself as she remembered asking Frank to go with her. Then immediately a wave of guilt washed over her and she sighed as she walked towards the salon door. She turned the sign to close and locked the door and walked out of the diner. As she walked towards the entrance the guilt continued. She knew that she shouldn’t be feeling anything for Frank because of Bobby, but she was alone. As she opened the resort door and stepped outside she noticed Greg and Bobby walking towards the beach. They appeared to have lunch in their hands then they stopped and shared a kiss. Maybe she didn’t need to feel guilty after all she though to herself and smiled as she walked to the diner. Background music ends Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Shaunna stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel from the rack and dried herself. She smiled as she remembered the great day she had at the beach today. With the tourists around, the big was packed, but the highlight was teacher the junior lifeguards, especially Haydn. He had completely changed and was even being nicer to Mrs Ross. Shaunna walked the short distance to her room and closed the door. She looked at her watch on the bedside table and realized she had 30 minutes to get ready because she was going over to dinner at the Ross house. Shaunna sat down and opened the draw of the bedside table. She pulled out the folder looked at all the photos and newspaper clippings that she had taped to the pages. She put the folder down and rushed over to her bag, and from the front pocket, she took out a folded newspaper clipping and went back over to the bed and sat down. She unfolded the newspaper clipping and looked at the photo “Pippa Fletcher, Walter Bertrum and John Farnham” she said as she read the caption under the photo. When Mrs Ross told her about Mrs Fletchers involvement with John Farnham, she rushed to the library to find out more information. Shaunna stared at Pippa Fletcher in the photo, and gently caressed her face with her finger and smiled. She knew it was her, it had to be her. Just thinking about it gave her butterflies. She had to find a way to tell her….and soon. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Frank sighed and smiled as he put the car into park. He looked over in the passenger seat at Sophie’s teddy bear. He got halfway home when he realized that Sophie had left her bear in the car. He remembered a time when he left his lunch at home and Tom left work to go home, pick it up, and bring it to him at school. Frank pick up the bear and shook his head then he got out of the car and walked the short distance to Bobby’s front door and knocked. Sam rushed to the front door when he heard the door knock. Frank’s smile immediately disappeared as he slowly walked into the house and he looked around. He noticed Greg kneeling down and wiping what looked like food on the floor. “Where is Sophie?” Frank said as he slowly walked towards Greg “Under the table being the spoiled brat that she is” Greg said annoyed as he picked up bits of broken plate from the floor. Frank immediately dropped to his knees and lifted up the tablecloth to see a crying Sophie huddling in the corner. “Sweetheart” Frank said and Sophie opened her eyes. She didn’t go to her dad at first because she was so afraid. “It’s ok sweetheart, you can come out” Frank said and Sophie sighed and and rushed over to her dad. Her eyes were red , as if she had been crying for a long time and her face looked as if she had been hit. Frank picked her up and she hugged his neck really tight and continued crying. “What did you do to her?” Frank said standing up and trying not to get annoyed as Grant walked into the house. Greg didn’t respond. “I SAID WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?” Frank said, and Greg sighed “Look it was an accident” Greg said “What’s going on here?” Grant said “WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?” Frank said and Grant got in between them “His little brat wouldn’t do as she was told” Greg said and immediately regretted it as he looked at how red Sophies face was. “That’s it, I’m taking Sophie out of here” Frank said as he walked towards the stairs “You’re not even her legal guardian, you can’t just take her” Greg said. “Try and stop me” Frank said as he walked up the stairs. As he got closer to Sophies room he got angry. He couldn’t believe that Bobby would be so irresponsible by leaving Sophie with Greg. First thing in the morning he was going to ring Mrs.Malloy, and tell her what was going on, and see if he could get Sophie permanently with him. He sat Sophie on the bed and she wiped her cheek with the back of her hand “I’m taking you to my house ok” Frank said and Sophie nodded. He picked up her school bag and began to pack some clothes into it then he pickup up Sophie and left the bedroom. “Bye” Sam said as he walked over to the couch to watch cartoons. Frank made eye contact with Greg then he walked out of the house and slammed the door. Frank was so angry as he walked to the car. He put Sophie in the back seat and put her seatbelt on. “Nobody is ever going to hurt you again” Frank said and he kissed Sophie on the head “I love you sweetheart” Frank said “I love you daddy” Sophie said in a soft voice. Frank closed the passenger door, got into the drivers seat and drove away. Greg sighed. He just finished explaining to Grant what happened. “I just lost it you know….I dunno, I guess everything has been building up…this whole situation with Frank, and Sophie being here doesn’t help. I didn’t hit her, it really was an accident Grant. I went to bend down and she was in the way and I accidently elbowed her, it really was an accident” Greg said and sighed. “Maybe its for the best, Frank taking Sophie..give everyone a chance to cool down” Grant said as he sat opposite Greg at the dining table. Greg looked at him. He wasn’t sure how Bobby was going to react. “It really was an accident, I didn’t mean to hurt her” Greg said as Grant looked at him. “Hopefully Bobby will understand” Grant said and he got up and gently put his hand on Greg’s shoulder and walked away to his bedroom. Background music ends Bayside Diner After Dark- Summer Bay “Hello Bayside Diner After Dark” Colleen said as she answered the phone “You want to speak to who?....oh Carly…she’s not here yet. Would you like to leave a message..alright then…bye” Colleen said and hung up the phone. “Oh Carly, you just missed a call” Colleen said “Who was it?” Carly said “He didn’t leave his name” Colleen said “I guess it wasn’t important" Carly said as she walked away. Caravan Park- Summer Bay “This looks great Pippa…I’m starving” Steve said as he sat at the dining table. He just got back home. “Well there should be enough for leftovers for tomorrow night when me and Sally are gone. Are you sure you don’t want to come with us to see Alex?” Pippa said as the door opened. She looked up to see Frank and Sophie. “Sophie is staying here tonight” Frank said as he walked into the house. He put Sophie’s bag on the couch and sat her on the chair next to Sally. Pippa could see that Sophie’s eyes and face were pink, like she had been crying. She followed Frank into the kitchen. She could tell that he was angry. “Did something happen?” Pippa said Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme “Sophie left her teddy bear in the car after I dropped her home. I took it back and when I got there, Sam told me that Sophie had been crying. Pippa, I found her under the table crying her eyes out. Greg hit her” Frank said Are you sure?” Pippa said concerned. “She was afraid to come out to me, her dad, and her face was red. IHe said it was an accident. I had to get her out of there before I strangled him” Frank said as he clenched his fists. Pippa sighed “Where was Bobby?” Pippa said “That’s another thing, she wasn’t even there. First thing in the morning, I’m phoning Mrs. Malloy to get Sophie out of there permanently. Even if she has to be placed in your care, I don’t care, she isn’t going back to that house. Not as long as Greg is around” Frank said annoyed then he picked up two plates and walked out of the kitchen as Pippa sighed. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay “I’m back” Bobby said as she closed the backdoor and put her keys on the table. She walked over to the couch where Greg and Sam sat watching cartoons “Uncle Frank took Sophie away” Sam said as Bobby looked at Greg “What does he mean Frank took Sophie away?” Bobby said confused and Greg sighed “There was a bit of an accident…Sophie accidently knocked the plate of food on the floor. I admit I was a bit annoyed” Greg was interrupted “And?” Bobby said annoyed “She was turning and I accidently elbowed the side of her face, but it really was an accident and when Frank turned up, Sophie was hiding under the table and crying he got some of her clothes and took her” Greg was interrupted “And you let him take her?” Bobby said annoyed and began walking away “Bobby I’m sorry, it was an accident” Greg said as he pulled Bobby’s arm. It was still very early, and she didn’t want to wake anybody up. She gently unlocked the front door, stepped outside the house, and slowly closed it behind her. Marilyn opened her eyes as she heard the door close. She wasn’t asleep. If she was honest with herself, she didn’t sleep much last night. Not because she wasn’t tired, but because she was feeling guilty about the way she felt about Frank. It was taking her by surprise. She never expected to fall for him. She couldn’t believe that she was so bold to ask him to the valentines day dance. She was trying to stop herself from falling for him, but the guilt she felt was because she wasn’t sure if she wanted to She remembered Bobby telling her once that she still had feelings for Frank, but she also seemed happy with Greg. Marilyn sighed. Bobby had been a really good friend to her, almost like a sister, so she didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize that relationship but she also still wanted to be happy. Marilyn sighed again and turned over to her side. She still had two hours before she had to get up for work, so she closed her eyes and let her mind drift to spending time with Frank. If he was honest with himself, he never paid much attention to today’s date. Being home made it seem like everything happened yesterday. He remembered standing at the alter, he remembered carefully taking off Bobby’s dress before they made love for the first time. He remembered all the hopes and dreams they had, he remembered their honeymoon in Singapore, and how they were so excited for the future. He never expected things to end up so different… Beach- Summer Bay Bobby ran as fast as she could then she began to slow down. It had been a long time since she had a good run. She took off her shoes as her breathing stablized and sunk her feet into the warm sand. The beach had always been a place where she found comfort, and today was no different. She didn’t sleep much because there were so many different things going on in her mind. Seeing Marilyn and Frank together yesterday, and today being, what would’ve been her and Franks’s third wedding anniversary, she felt so claustrophobic being in the house and needed some space to breathe. Bobby stopped walking and sat down on the sand and stared into the water. Even though it was early, she could see two surfers getting ready to go in and begin surfing. Bobby smiled to herself and sighed Flashback Bobby- I’m glad we waited Frank- Yeah me too Bobby- Will it always be like this Frank- What do you mean? Bobby- Like it is right now, this is the happiest I have ever been in my life. I finally have my own family Frank- Well, your happiness is in my hands now, so I promise that it will always be like this Flashback ends Before Bobby could stop herself, tears welled in her hers and one fell down her cheek. Bobby wiped her cheek with the back of her hand. When Frank left, she always pushed today to the back of her mind because she knew that he wasn’t coming back. Every year it seemed to get easier. She never completely forgot him, but it didn’t hurt as much, but this year is different. With Frank around, it felt like everything was happening again, today. Bobby sighed. At times she wished that he never came back, but then again, if he never came back, they wouldn’t have Sophie whom she loved very much. She wished that she could stay on the beach by herself and just let the day pass, but she knew that wasn’t a reality. Bobby inhaled deeply, picked up her shoes, stood up, and began walking. Frank was a single man, he can see anyone he wants. She had Greg and Sam in her life now, and she didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize that. They were her future, even the fortune teller said so. With every step that Bobby took on the beach, she reminded herself of the happy times that she and Greg were going to have in the future. As Bobby walked along the beach she could hear someone crying. She turned to her right and noticed someone sitting on the sand. She began walking toward the person and as she got closer, she noticed that it was Emma. “Emma, are you alright?” Bobby said. Emma looked up with a shocked look on her face as tears ran down her cheeks “I’m fine” Emma said as she cried “No your not, otherwise you wouldn’t be crying” Bobby said as Emma stood up and wiped her face with David’s scarf as Bobby watched her. “Its nothing, I’m fine. Please don’t tell Aunt Ailsa that you saw me crying” Emma said as Bobby looked at her “Please promise that you wont,” Emma said and Bobby nodded “Ok, I promise,” Bobby said begrudgingly “Thanks,” Emma said and she walked away as Bobby watched her confused. Background music ends Caravan Park- Summer Bay Frank lifted the kettle from the stove before it began to make noise. He poured the water into his cup and put the kettle back on the stove. He picked up the teaspoon, began to stir the contents of his cup, and smiled. Today was bittersweet, he was taking Sophie to watch Playschool live. He remembered when he was younger, he wanted his parents to take him, but they always made excuses. That was around the time that their drinking and gambling got worse. He knew that was the reason why his parents never had any money. He was always jealous when he heard schoolmates talk about going, and always promised himself that he would take his own children when he had money, and today it was happening. At least he would be away from Summer Bay for the day. “You couldn’t sleep?” Finlay said as she put her arms around Frank who pushed her away “What are you doing? Frank said almost spilling his coffee on the floor. Frank put the coffee cup on the table and reached for the towel and wiped his hands and the table where a small amount of coffee had spilled. “I heard you go out, and I assumed you couldn’t sleep. Do you want some company?” Finlay said as she began to kiss Frank’s neck. Frank pushed her away and she looked at him “I’m in love with you Frank…and I know you feel it too” Finlay said and she forcefully put her arm around Franks’s neck and began kissing his neck again. For a split second, Frank didn't stop her. Hearing someone tell him that she loves him was the comfort that he needed especially today with his feelings being in a knot. He lifted his head as Finlay kissed under his chin “I knew you felt the same way about me..I want you so much” Finlay said then reality set in and Frank pulled her arms from around his neck and gently pushed her back. “I told you already, we can’t do this,” Frank said and he walked away as Finlay smiled to herself. She knew that Frank wanted her, because he didn’t deny it. Phone ringing Finlay smiled as she walked towards the phone and picked up the receiver “Hello, Summer Bay Caravan Park” Finlay said with a smile then a few seconds later, her smile disappeared “I told you not to call me on this number…What do you want?” Finlay said and sighed.. Harris Residence- Kiama Greg was woken by the sound of the toilet flushing. He rubbed his eye then picked up his watch on the bedside table and looked at the time and sighed. He had intended on leaving an hour ago. He got out of bed and grabbed his shirt that was on the chair at the end of the bed. He began buttoning the shirt when Fiona opened the bedroom door, and closed it behind her. “Scott awake?” Greg said “Yes,” Fiona said and she made the bed “I didn’t realize it was so late,” Greg said “I wanted to wake you, but you looked so peaceful sleeping,” Fiona said and smiled “I guess I have to go out through the window?” Greg said as Fiona walked over to him “Sorry, its just that I don’t want Scott getting the wrong idea” Fiona said as Greg put his arms around her “I had a great night last night,” Greg said “Me too,” Fiona said and she rested her head on Greg’s chest. She was in love with him. “I better get going,” Greg said “When will I see you?” Fiona said “I dunno, we got a lot of work on today,” Greg said “Ill call you later,” Greg said “Ok, ill be waiting,” Fiona said and she looked at Greg he gently kissed her on her lips and winked and opened the window, and climbed out trying not to fall again. As Greg walked to his car the usual guilt crept in and he sighed. He knew what he was doing was wrong, but things had gone to far with Fiona. He had to admit that he liked her, but it was Bobby that he loved. He knew that he can turn things off with Fiona, but he had to admit that he didn’t want to do that right now. Greg started the engine of his car and drove away thinking of the great night that they had. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Marilyn jumped as Grant came into the kitchen “Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you jump” Grant said “Its alright, its not your fault” Marilyn said as Grant looked at his watch “Bit early for you to be going to work” Grant said “I wanted to get in early and do some inventory checks,” Marilyn said trying to avoid Grant’s gaze. It was a lie. She didn’t want to be here when Bobby got back. “Is there something wrong?” Grant said “No nothing, why? Marilyn said as she put the toast she made on the plate and smiled. Grant stared at her and Marilyn sighed. Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme “Is it that obvious?” Marilyn said and Grant nodded and Marilyn walked over to the dining table and put her plate down and sat down. Grant sat opposite her. “Grant I don’t know what to do” Marilyn said “Its about Frank, isn’t it?” Grant said and Marilyn looked at him surprised “How did you know?” Marilyn said “I have a sixth sense for these things,” Grant said and smiled as Marilyn sighed “You feel something for him, and you’re not sure because of Bobby,” Grant said and Marilyn nodded then they heard the door opening “Please don’t say anything,” Marilyn whispered and Grant nodded as she got up “You can have my toast, I’m not hungry,” Marilyn said. Bobby sighed silently as she saw Marilyn sitting at the table with Grant “I better get going, see you later, bye Bobby,” Marilyn said with a big smile on her face “Yeah, see you later ” Bobby said faking a smile as she walked into the kitchen and put the kettle on. “You’re up and about very early” Grant said “Yeah, I went for a run” Bobby said and looked at the clock on the wall and realized that she had to get Sam and Sophie up soon. Frank was coming to pick Sophie up to first take her to the psychologist’s appointment and then onto Playschool live. “Everything alright boss” Grant said as he leaned on the kitchen counter “Yeah, fine” Bobby said in a low tone as she put a teabag in the cup. Grant watched her as she put some milk in the cup and stared at the kettle. Bobby looked up and noticed that Grant was staring at her “Nothing gets past you does it?” Bobby said and Grant shook his head no. Bobby sighed and leaned on the counter. “Three years ago today, I was getting ready to become Mrs Frank Morgan” Bobby said and folded her arms “Sorry” Grant said “Nothing to be sorry about. It was probably the worst mistake I made in my life” Bobby said and Grant looked at her. “I guess it doesn’t help that he’s around” Grant said “No, it doesn’t. Sometimes I wish he never came back” Bobby said “If he never came back you wouldn’t have Sophie,” Grant said “That’s probably the only good thing that came out of him coming back” Bobby said and she poured the water into the cup. “Anyway, it doesn’t matter, I’m just being silly. I have Greg and Sam in my life. No need to look back when all the best times are ahead of me” Bobby said and smiled as she walked out of the kitchen. Grant walked back to the dining table and sat down and sighed. He took the piece of paper out of his pocket and sighed. It took him half an hour to explain to his mum why he needed Carly’s number and made her promise not to tell anyone that he asked for it. Martin picked up the phone receiver and began to dial. He looked at the clock on the wall. It was a bit early, but this was the only time that he had to make the phone call. He listened as the phone rang “Come on Carly” Martin said under his breath. When he heard the pick up he was about to speak when he heard a mans voice. It was Lt Lucini. He put his hand over the mouth of the receiver as Lt Lucini said hello a few times then eventually he put the phone down. Martin sighed then he put the receiver down. “Stupid idea” Martin said to himself. What did he expect was going to happen if he called Carly at home. Then he remembered, Lance said she was the manager of the diner at night. Lance picked up the phone and began to dial. “Mum its me..I need you to get me another number” Martin said and smiled to himself. He had to get to Carly. One way or another he was goint to get Lt Lucini. He promised Sarah, and he had no intention of breaking that promise. Background music ends

Chapter 544 Army Barracks- Brisbane Martin looked to his left and then to his right and let himself into the office. He knew he shouldn’t be there but it was something that he needed to do. He took his keys from his pocket and used it to open the filing cabinet that had all details about all the military staff. Martin started reading out loud the letters until he got to L and began searching for Lucini. He didn’t sleep much after Sarah left. He was falling for her but after what happened with Megan, he had to find out for himself. He felt guilty that he even had to check on Sarah’s story, but he had to protect himself “Lucini” Martin said as he quickly turned behind him then took out Ben’s file. He quickly searched through it until he got to some pages and began to read. What he read backed up with Sarah said. Ben was due to have a disciplinary hearing but disappeared. Martin sighed. He heard a noise and turned behind him. He quickly put the file in filing cabinet and locked it and carefully left the office and closed the door. There was a lot to process, but what he did know was that Ben was going to pay. He didn’t know how, but he had to figure it out. “Carly” Martin said as he walked down the corridor. He had to find a way to tell her what was going on, but he knew Carly, and doubted that she would believe him, but he had to find a way to let her know. Lucini Residence- Summer Bay Carly opened her eyes and looked at the clock on the bedside table and sighed. She had overslept. She had intended to just lie down for a few minutes before she went to deposit the takings in the bank but she was so tired and hung over. Carly sighed and got out of bed. She winced as she put her hare feet on the cold floor and walked over to the bathroom, and began to run the shower then she caught a glimpse of herself in the bathroom mirror. Background music- Carly’s theme The bruise on her cheek was starting to look purple. Ben no longer hit her, but what he did was throw things at her. Anything was better than when he hit her. Carly opened the tap then she put her hands under the faucet and bent down and splashed cold water on her face. She closed the tap and looked at her face. She didn’t recognize herself anymore. She had lost so much weight and smiled when people complemented her on how great she looked. Carly tested the water then got into the shower. She let the water run into her hair then over her body as she closed her eyes and let her mind drift back to when she first moved in with Pippa, Tom and Frank, and all the great memories she had that felt like another lifetime. A time when she was happy, a time that she would never feel again. Background music ends Caravan Park- Summer Bay Shane wiped his hands on his jeans and knocked at the door. A short time after, Finlay came to the door. “G’day” Shane said as he looked Finlay up and down “Hi” Finlay said as Shane stared at her legs “Did you want something?” Finlay said “Oh, just to say that I mowed the back yard, finished all the weeding and painted the wall and was wondering if I can push off early” Shane said with a smile “Oh well Mrs Fletcher isn’t here” Finlay said as Steve came down the stairs “So maybe I can take you out tonight?” Shane said “Sorry, I’m taken” Finlay said “Frank left a list of things for you to do” Steve said as he pointed at the list on the notice board and walked away to the kitchen. Shane sighed as his smile disappeared as he came into the house and looked at the list of things to do. He was expected to paint the inside of two of the vans “Oh what? What a slave driver” Shane said “Don’t do the crime if you cant do the time” Steve said as he came out of the kitchen with a drink and went back upstairs. Shane sighed “Thanks mate” Shane said under his breath as Steve turned around. “Oh the paint and paint brushes are in the shed” Steve said and gave Shane a sarcastic smile then went upstairs. Shane looked at Finley then he turned around “I really hate this place” Shane said as he bumped into a flower pot on his way out of the house. Background music – Frank and Bobby’s theme Beach- Summer Bay Shaunna looked around with her binoculars, then she looked at her watch. The beach had quieted down Shaunna though to herself as she hung her binoculars on hook of her lifeguard tower “Hey Shaunna, are you not coming to have lunch” Shaunna looked down to see Haydn and she smiled. She had to admit, she was starting to like him and he appeared to be enjoying the junior lifeguard programme, and was doing very well. “Ok, ill have one sandwich since its quiet” Shaunna said as she walked down the short ramp. She was hoping to get away early today, she had to go to the library to get some more information that she was going to discuss with Mrs Ross. Sands Resort- Summer Bay Bobby smiled as she sat in the conference room with other departmental managers, and listened to her boss talk about some upcoming events. One being an international company shooting an ad for a product, and the hotel was hosting them. As her boss went into details, Bobby’s mind drifted away. She couldn’t stop thinking about seeing Frank, and Marilyn walking together like they were a family. Bobby inhaled and exhaled quietly. She was trying to deny to herself that she was jealous, and for that moment in time she was jealous, but in reality, Frank could see anyone he wanted, and she had Greg and Sam in her life. They were her future, and she wasn’t going to do anything to jeopardize that. Bayside Diner- Summer Bay Grant put the drinks on the table in front of Frank, Marilyn and Sophie. “Thanks Grant” Marilyn said with a big smile on her face. Grant smiled and he walked away. When he got to the counter he looked at Marilyn as he wiped the counter and sighed. “Playschool sounds like its going to be so much fun, I wish I can go” Marilyn said as she looked at Sophie “Yeah, I always hoped that I would be able to take my kid to a live show, and I get to do it tomorrow” Frank said as he looked down at Sophie who was looking up and him. He gently kissed her on her head and smiled. “Oh that’s so sweet. You are a great father, Frank” Marilyn said as she began to feel butterflies in her stomach “Thanks” Frank said “Oh by the way, did you know that the resort is having a dance for valentine’s day?” Marilyn said and she took the flyer out of her pocket and showed Frank. “No I didn’t” Frank said as he bit his sandwich and looked at the flyer that Marilyn held up “If you’re not doing anything, and you are interested…” Marilyn was interrupted “G’day, on another date?” Frank and Marilyn looked up to see Greg by their table “Hi Greg…no this is not a” Marilyn was interrupted “Oh the resort is having a valentines dance” Greg said as he looked at the flyer in Marilyn’s hand “Oh yes, Bobby told me about this..I guess we will see you two love birds there” Greg said and smiled then he walked away. Marilyn looked at Frank “I’m really sorry about that” Marilyn said “No worries” Frank said and Sophie began coughing “Oh sweetheart are you alright? Here drink some water” Frank said as he gently rubbed Sophies back and wiped her mouth. Marilyn stared at him. He didn’t know how long he had been doing it for but he just couldn’t concentrate. He kept replaying the conversation he had yesterday with Sarah in his mind. He hadn’t known her for too long, but when they hugged, he felt that he needed to protect her. Lt Lucini wasn’t going to get away with what he did to Sarah. Martin sighed then he leaned back on the chair and sighed. “Carly” he said out loud.. He noticed that Carly was different when he saw her over Christmas. Maybe Lt Lucini was doing the same thing to her. He had to know…he had to warn her. He hurriedly picked up the phone then he stopped himself before he could dial. What if he was wrong? What if he wasn’t doing the same to Carly?. Martin sighed. He felt so conflicted. There was so much on the line. If he made accusations against a senior officer, he would be called a dobber, and his army career might be affected, yet he needed to protect Sarah and make Lt Lucini pay. Martin sighed. He didn’t know what he was going to do, but he knew that he had to do something. He promised Sarah that Lt Lucini was going to pay…he just didn’t know how. She didn’t mean to make Mr Stewart mad, because he probably wouldn’t give her the day off tomorrow. “Mr Stewart, is it still alright for me to have the day off tomorrow to go and visit Viv with MrMitchell and Steve? Stewart Residence- Summer Bay Emma drank some of the warm tea then laid on the couch and watched Duncan play. For some reason, she was feeling really sick and tired. She wanted to take Duncan to the animal shelter but when she woke up she was feeling really sick and decided to stay home instead. Duncan looked at the door as they both heard keys opening the door. “Only me” Ailsa said as she came into the house “I thought you were going to the animal shelter” Ailsa said as she bent down and kissed Duncan “I was, but then I felt a bit sick, must’ve been the chocolate I ate last night” Emma said as she sat up “You do look a bit pale, maybe I should make an appointment for you to see Dr Routledge” Ailsa said as she walked over to the desk “No” Emma said immediately. “I’m fine” Emma said and smiled “Are you sure?” Ailsa said and Emma noddd and smiled “Yep, sure” Emma said as Ailsa opened the desk draw and took some papers out “Thank goodness they are here. Bobby will have a fit if I don’t get these receipts back to the diner” Ailsa said “If you get any worse, give me a call at the diner, and I will make the appointment for you” Ailsa said as she kissed Duncan “Ill be fine” Emma said and smiled “Alright then I will see you later” Ailsa said and she rushed out of the house as Duncan waved at her. Emma’s smile disappeared as she heard the door close. She laid back down on the couch and closed her eyes… Caravan Park- Summer Bay “This stupid thing” Shane said as he tried to start the lawn mower. He had been trying for a few minutes to get it going. “You have to press the button then kick start it” Shane turned around to see a guy about his age walking with his bike. Shane followed the instructions and the lawn mower started. “Thanks..I’m Shane” Shane said and smiled “I know, you broke into my house” Steve said and Shane’s smile disappeared. “Look, I’m really sorry” Shane said as Steve looked at him then he parked his bike in the bike storage rack “I really am sorry” Shane said “I heard you the first time” Steve said as he put the lock on his bike. Shane sighed and he began to mow the grass “I think ill be apologizing for the rest of my life around here” Shane said “Don’t do the crime if you cant do the time” Steve said “Tell me about it. That Frank is worse than my dad” Shane said as Steve began to walk away “Hey do you know some Sheila called Emma?” Shane said “Yeah” Steve said “Is she always up herself?” Shane said “I don’t know, you should ask her” Steve said and he went inside. Shane sighed, and before he knew it he ran over a rock and the grass started spraying into his face “I hate this place” Shane said out loud and wiped his face. Maybe coming here wasn’t the best idea after all. Sands Resort-Summer Bay Sophie hugged her dad. She was in her mums office because she didn’t want to go to the creche. Background music- Frank and bobby’s theme “Is this for me?” Frank said as Sophie gave him a picture that she drew. It was of her and her dad holding hands “This is brilliant sweetheart” Frank said and he kissed Sophies cheek. Frank looked at the drawing and smiled. This was the first drawing that she had drawn. He felt so proud of his daughter and all the progress she had made. “You sure that you don’t want to come with us?” Frank said to Bobby who was sitting by the computer “Thanks, but I have a few things to do here” Bobby said “Michael gave me the rest of the day off, so I can keep Sophie if you want, and bring her home later” Frank said “Ok..I’m sure she will like to spend some time with you..thanks” Bobby said “You sure you wont come with us to have some lunch?” Frank said “I’m sure” Bobby said “Alright then, see you later” Frank said as Bobby walked over to Frank and Sophie and kissed her forehead “See you later sweetheart, have a good time with your dad” Bobby said “Ok mummy” Sophie said softly then she put her head on her dads shoulder as they walked out of the office. Bobby sat at her desk and sighed. She looked at the work she had to do, and to be honest it wasn't that much, and she was hungry. She decided she would go and get some lunch with Frank and Sophie. She quickly shut down her computer, and grabbed her keys and purse and rushed to the door then she felt her stomach drop and she sighed as she watched Frank and Marilyn talking then they three of them walked out of the resort like a happy family. After the running around on the beach and eating lunch he was fast asleep. She sat back down on the blanket that covered the sand. She buried her toes into the warm sand as she looked at Duncan and began to imagine if David was here, what they would be doing..how he would react to the news. Then tears filled her eyes and she began to cry. She felt so cheated. Life was suddenly starting to get better then the rug was pulled from under her and she was right back to where she started” “G’day” Emma turned around to see Shane behind her. He had a look of shock on his face when he saw her crying “Whats the matter?” Shane said “Nothing, rack off” Emma said and she got up and grabbed the blanket she was sitting on, stuffed it into her back and her and Duncan left. Shane watched as she walked away. He knew that it was nothing that he did, yet he was sad to see her upset. He remembered when she was a good mate to him and gave him some food and didn’t dob him in. She is so excited about going to see playschool on Wednesday. Is that still alright?” Frank said as he got to the bottom of the steps “Yeah, why not” Bobby said not looking up from the letter. He got up from the chair and limped into the kitchen to make himself some coffee hoping that would help to relax his mind “You got a visitor” Jessie said “Who is it” Martin said as he took the milk out of the fridge “Me” Martin turned around when he heard a females voice and his eyes widened as he saw Sarah standing next to Jessie wearing her wet raincoat “Im off to bed” Jessie said and he looked at Sarah and Martin and walked into his room and closed the door “I hope you don’t mind me coming over like this” Sarah said “No not at all, here let me get your coat” Martin said as he limped over to Sarah and helped her take her coat off and hung it on the back of the door “Sorry, I got water everywhere” Sarah said “No its fine. I was just about to make some coffee, can I make you some?” Martin said “Yes please” Sarah said as she pulled the sleeves over her hands and folded her arms “Please have a seat” Martin said and he pointed to a dining table chair that sat in the corner of the small kitchen area. Sarah looked around the flat as Martin made the tea. The flat was small, but neat and tidy. It reminded her of one she had known before as her mind started to wonder . The sound of the cup being placed on the table in front of her brought her back to reality. “I didn’t know how you like it” Martin said as he put some kind and sugar on the table “Black with one sugar is fine..thanks” Sarah said and smiled as Martin put soe sugar in her coffee cup. Sarah silently exhaled. Even though she was here, she still wasn’t sure if it was a good idea. As Martin made his own coffee, Sarah thought about the day she had. How she was upset that she had missed him, but able to make it to the hospital without the matron seeing her. She thought about how all she thought about was Martin for the whole day. She remembered wondering if she had made a mistake by looking up his address, and waiting in the car outside his house for an hour. However, none of that mattered now, she was here. He was here. Sarah picked up the cup and drank some of the hot coffee then she put the cup down and pulled her sleeves over her hands and folded her arms and looked up to see Martin looking at her. Martin didn’t expect to see her again, not after she stood him up at the coffee shop. That didnt matter, because she was here now. He knew she was beautiful, but tonight she took his breath away. They both began to speak at the same time then they both stopped “Ladies first” Martin said “I owe you an apology…I didn’t mean to stand you up. When I got to the coffee shop, you had already gone” Sarah said “I know that I hurt you, I just wanted a chance to say sorry..for whatever I did” Martin said and Sarah sighed and felt guilty. She felt guilty because she knew that Martin didn’t do anything Background music- emotional romance theme Sarah breathed in deep then she vocally exhaled. “A few years ago, I went out with a bloke..an army bloke. The hospital warns us against going out with army blokes, and to keep things professional, and I did that..until I met this one bloke. He was everything I thought I wanted. He was charming and swept me off my feet. This was my first job out of nursing school, and I couldn’t believe I got a job and the man of my dream all at the same time. “Lt Lucini?” Martin said and Sarah looked at him and bowed her head done then nodded. An uncomfortable silence filled the room. Martin wasn’t sure what he was about to here, but he could feel Sarah’s vulnerability. She seemed like she was scared, and he wished he could hug her, comfort her and tell her not to be afraid. “You don’t have to talk about this if you don’t want to” Martin said and Sarah looked up at him with tears in her eyes “No, I want to” Sarah said as she wiped a stray tear from her cheek with the back of her hand that was covered with her sleeve. Everything was going ok, but then the pushing and choking started” Sarah said as her voice trembled. And she looked into the coffee cup. “ I was convinced that it was my fault, that I wasn’t a good girlfriend. Then things stated getting worse, and I was always trying to find excuses to explain why I had a black eye or a bruise on my arm. I think my best excuses was when he pushed me down the stairs. I said I tripped over my laces chasing my cat. The other nurses were so jealous that I had a great caring boyfriend who took care of me” Sarah said still not looking up from the cup. By this time we were living in his flat, and he would always destroy my things when he got mad at me. I cant tell you the amount of broken plates I had to clean up” Sarah said as she wiped her cheek with the back of her hand “You don’t have to say anymore, I can see this is upsetting you” Martin said and Sarah shook her head “No, I want to tell you this. One time he got into trouble at work for something and when he got home, he took it out on me. I tried to fight back. That made things worse. He beat me up and threw me across the floor. I don’t remember what happened after that. Only that I woke up in the hospital. I was in a coma for a few days because there was a swelling on my brain. One of the nurses at the hospital sort of figured out what was going on, and she reported Ben to his superiors. He was supposed to get disciplinary action. I tried to stop it because I know that it would only make things worse, but it was too late. He was ordered to stay away from me. When I got out of the hospital and went back to the flat, he had destroyed all my belongings, tore up all my clothes and disappeared” Sarah said and sighed “Now he’s living in Summer Bay and married to a mate of mine like nothing ever happened” Martin said and sighed. Sarah looked up at Martin. “I feel so embarrassed by all of this” Sarah said “Hey, none of this was your fault. How were you to know that you fell in love with a dirtbag” Martin said “Now you understand why I freaked out when you mentioned you saw him. I thought you were his friend or something. I thought that maybe this was going to happen all over again” Sarah said. Martin sighed “I promise you, I am not like him at all” Martin said and he gently put his hand on Sarah’s hand. She looked into Martins eyes and could tell that he was being honest. “I am sorry that you had to relive this all over again” Martin said as he found himself getting angry. Sarah wasn’t his girlfriend but he felt like he had to protect her then he remembered something…Carly. Now it all made sense. When he went home he noticed that Carly had completely changed. Nobody else appeared to notice, but he couldn’t figure out why. He remembered Lt Lucini from his time as a new recruit. He had a terrible reputation of making new recruits do extra workouts and making them feel afraid of him. “I better go..its late, and I have to go to work tomorrow” Sarah said and she stood up “Wait” Martin said and got up and limped over to her “I’m sorry for what you went through, that guy was a jerk, and I promise you, I am going to make him pay for what he did to you” Martin said and Sarah looked at him. His eyes felt so comforting and before she knew it she was hugging him. It felt good. She felt so protected even though she didn’t know him “I’m going to make him pay..I promise you” Martin said and he kissed the top of Sarahs head as she closed her eyes. She still couldn’t believe that she passed her exams and was now an actual nurse. Well technically she was always a nurse, but now she was a nurse again. Pippa giggles to herself as she tried to make sense of what she just thought. Pippa dropped the folded sheet in the basket on the floor and when she looked up she noticed Lance walking aimlessly while kicking a rock on the floor. “Hello Lance” Pippa said and Lance looked up and walked over to her “G’day Mrs F” Lance said and sighed “Is everything ok?” Pippa said as Lance looked at her “Yeah” Lance eventually said “Are you sure?” Pippa said and lance began to nod then he shook his head instead. Christopher is taking a nap, I was just about to make a cuppa, why don’t you come in and join me?” Pippa said “Ok” Lance said and he bent down and picked up the laundry basket and followed Pippa into the house Barracks hospital- Brisbane Background music- Emotional background music Sarah looked at the clock, she was scheduled to go on lunch in 10 minutes. The coffee shop was only five minutes away, so she had enough time to get there and meet Martin. She was feeling both excited and frightened and wondered if she was doing the right thing by giving him an explanation. “Nurse Thompson go and assist on the second floor” The matron said and she walked over to Sarah who was entering a patients details into the computer. Sarah quickly looked at her watch “But I have to go to lunch in ten minutes” Sarah said “Well you can have your lunch later, you are needed on the second floor” The Matron said then she walked away. Sarah sighed and she got up from the desk and put the patient’s file in the filing cabinet and sighed then she walked away Coffee Shop- Brisbane Martin looked at his watch and then sat down at a table by the window. He knew he was early, but it was better to be early than be late he thought to himself as the waitress walked over to him “What can I get you?” The waitress said “Just a coffee thanks, I’m waiting for someone,” Martin said proudly as the waitress nodded and walked away to get his coffee. Martin looked out of the window and smiled to himself. Today was going to be a good day, he just felt it.. Caravan Park- Summer Bay Pippa watched as Lance stared into the teacup and sighed “Are you going to tell me what’s wrong?” Pippa said and Lance looked up at her “Nuffin ever goes right for me” Lance said “What do you mean?” Pippa said “Just everyfin. I’m a loser..I know that’s what people ‘round here think” Martin said “You’re not a loser, we have never thought that” Pippa said “So why cant I keep a girlfriend?” Lance said and Pippa smiled “Oh” Pippa said and paused “I thought things were going well with you and Finlay?” Pippa said “That’s what I thought then she dumped me” Lance said as the door knocked. Pippa looked up to see Shane at the door “I finished all the work Mrs Fletcher, is it alright if I go and have some lunch?…I wont be long” Shane said as he looked at Lance “Alright,” Pippa said and smiled “Thanks,” Shane said and he rushed away. Pippa looked at Lance and he sighed “When the time is right, you will find the right person” Pippa said “Like you and that reverend bloke?” Lance said and Pippa smiled “Yes” Pippa said and Lance sighed “No I wont” Lance said “Of course you will, there are so many nice young ladies in Summer Bay” Pippa said “Yeah, but they don’t want me..Finlay, Marilyn, Rhonda. I loved Marilyn, and my best friend Martin isn’t even here..I have nobody” Lance said and Pippa gently rubbed his arm “You always have us” Pippa said and lance looked up “Thanks Mrs F..I better go” Lance said and he got up “Will you be alright?” Pippa said “Yeah..when is Sal getting back?” Lance said “She will be back from Camp on Saturday,” Pippa said “Ok…thanks Mrs F” Lance said “You’re welcome” Pippa said and Lance walked out of the house and sighed Coffee Shop- Brisbane Martin drank the last of his coffee and looked out of the window then he looked at his watch. Sarah was 15 minutes late, but it didn’t matter, he knew she was going to come, he felt it in his heart. “Are you ready to order?” Martin turned around to see the waitress by his table “Not yet, Ill just have another coffee” Martin said and smiled as the waitress turned around and walked away shaking her head Barracks hospital- Brisbane Sarah looked at her watch and sighed. Even though she had been on the second floor for 30 minutes it seemed like she had been up here for hours. There was nothing to do, so she didn’t understand why Matron would tell her to come up here. She had to find a way to get to the coffee shop. “Hailey, can you do me a favour please?” Sarah said as one of the senior nurses came to the nurses station “Yeah, what is it?” Hailey said “I’m supposed to be on my lunch break now, and matron sent me up here, can you cover for me, I need to meet someone. I will get back as quick as I can” Sarah said. Hailey looked at her watch “Its quiet up here, so go for your lunch” Hailey said “Thanks I owe you one” Sarah said and smiled as she rushed towards the exit. She had no time to go and get her jacket, she was just going to run to the coffee shop since it wasn’t that far Coffee Shop- Brisbane Martin drank the last of the second cup of coffee and sighed. Sarah wasn’t coming. He felt like such a fool. “Are you ready to order now?” The waitress said as she walked towards the table “No, Ill just pay for the coffees” Martin said and he put his hand in his pocket and took out some money to cover the cost of the coffee and also a tip then he got up from the table and walked out of the coffee shop and sighed. Background music ends Ross Boatshed- Summer Bay “Hi Frank” Frank looked up from the accounts receivables he was working on to see Marilyn “G’day…are you having trouble with the car?” Frank said “No its running fine” Marilyn said with a smile “Oh” Frank said Background music- Have you ever been alone “I just wanted to bring you some lunch to say thank you again,” Marilyn said and she put a mini hamper on the table next to Frank “You didn’t need to do that, yesterdays lunch was fine” Frank said “I know, but you said me so much money, lunch is the least I could do” Marilyn said “Well thanks, you saved me a trip to the diner…lets see what we have here” Frank said as he put his pen down and looked inside the mini hamper “I better get back to the Resort” Marilyn said “You sure you wont join me, looks like there is enough food to feed an army” Frank said “Well I wouldn’t mind a sausage roll,” Marilyn said and she picked one up and took a bite, and smiled. Afterall she did bring enough food for two people As Greg approached the boatshed he could hear a woman's voice, and started getting annoyed thinking that Bobby was going against her word and visiting Frank with that spoiled brat Sophie. As he got closer he raised his eyebrows in surprise. Frank and Marilyn were having lunch. Definitely, nothing he was expecting. He watched through the bushes as Marilyn put her hand on Franks's arm and giggled. Then he began to walk toward the shed “G;day Marilyn” Marilyn turned around and looked at Greg like a deer caught in headlights “Hi Greg,” Marilyn said feeling guilty. Even though nothing was going on between her and Frank, she felt guilty about lying to Bobby earlier. “I better get back to the resort,” Marilyn said “You haven’t finished your lunch yet” Frank said before stuffing a sausage roll into his mouth “Oh I am fine thank you, besides, I am watching my weight” Marilyn said and smiled “Ok then..thanks again,” Frank said “You’re welcome,” Marilyn said “Bye Frank, Bye Greg” Marilyn said and she rushed away. Greg turned and watched her walk away then smiled to himself thinking that he couldn’t wait to tell Bobby… Coffee Shop- Brisbane Sarah panted as she reached the coffee shop door. She opened the door and looked around, but she didn’t see Martin. She looked at her watch and realized that she was over 35 minutes late. She sighed. “What can I get you?” The waitress said “I was meeting someone here..a guy. He would’ve been wearing army uniform” Sarah said “Oh, you just missed him. He left about five minutes ago..what can I get you?” The waitress said “Umm..nothing..thanks,” Sarah said and she walked out of the coffee shop and closed the door and sighed Background music ends

That means we need to get someone in on a part time basis, because I cant have you leaving here, especially not now since all the kids are off school” Alf said “How about I put the word out and find someone?” Ben said “Good idea..however in the meantime I better get over to the wholesalers…see you later” Alf said “See you later…oh by the way, Carly will give you the rent” Ben said and smiled. Alf nodded and walked away as Ben’s smile disappeared. Ben put his hand in his pocket and took out the bag of money and threw it in the air and caught it and smiled Caravan Park- Summer Bay “Ok thank you” Pippa said and put the phone down and wrote some notes on the notepad in front of her. When Pippa got to her room door she noticed that Christopher had stopped crying and Steve was holding him, and he laid his head on Steves shoulder. Pippa stood by the door and sighed. This is something Emma would’ve wanted so much. She looked at Duncan then at Shane “No, my cousin. Well in her defense, she's only a few weeks removed from Al Simpsons care, and we know he treated her horribly and to the point that she stopped speaking. She picked up one of the books and began to flick through the pages. “Right let me get on with those menus” Bobby said to herself. Marilyn walked towards the salon and began to feel guilty for lying to Bobby. She didn know why she did it, she should’ve just been honest. Its not like her and Frank were going out on a date, she was just taking him lunch to say thank you…its not like she had any feelings for him or anything. They were just friends, and friends can give each other lunch Marilyn thought to herself and smiled… Caravan Park- Summer Bay “I’m sorry Lance” Finlay said as she sat next to Lance in his mobile home. “I don’t understand, I thought we liked each other” Lance said “I do like you..just not like boyfriend girlfriend” Finlay said “But you did before” Lance said and Finlay sighed and she got up from the couch “Yeah, that was before, but things are different now” Finlay said “Is it another bloke?” Lance said after a few moments silence “No” Finlay said as she tried to avoid looking at Lance “Look, I better get back, I need to move my things back into the caravan” Finlay said as Lance looked at her “We can still be friends” Finlay said as she opened the sliding door then looked back at Lance. Lance sighed then he reached for a can of beer on the table and opened it. “Ill see you later” Finlay said then she stepped out of the house and closed the door and smiled, because now she was free to get the man she really wanted. Lance drank the beer and sighed. First it was Marilyn now Finlay. Women always left him. When he had money, that was the only reason why they liked him. She was perfect. He had made may mistakes, but he was glad that she forgave him and they were a family again “Me too love” Ailsa said and smiled. This was going to be a new beginning for her and Alf. Anything that happened in the past was going to stay in the past…. Shane sighed as Frank ran down the list of things he had to do today. It was going to take him all day, but he knew that was the point “Do I even get time off for lunch” Shane said trying to joke but Frank didn’t laugh “The cleaning stuff is in the shed and the water tap is next to the shed” Frank said and he shut the door. Shane sighed and he walked around the back and noticed that the water tap was next to a closed shed which must be the one that housed the cleaning stuff. Since it was school holidays, Tammy and Viv’s dad said they can come down for the day, so he was going to pick them up from the station Knock on the door “Hello Mr Fisher…Bobby isn’t here” Grant said “Hello Grant, I was hoping to have a word with you…can I come in?” Donald said “Yes, sure” Grant said and he moved out of the way for Donald to entered the house “Do you want a drink or anything?” Grant said “No, thank you..I wont be staying long. I wanted to find out if you wanted your old job back at the school?” Donald said and Grant looked at him in shock “But I thought I couldn’t?” Grant said “Well, as I’m sure you know, Megan Woods has decided at last minute to not return for the next term” Donald said as Grant looked at him. The last time he saw Megan, she didn’t say anything about leaving “I know you are a good teacher and all the students like you” Donald said “Thank you for the compliment, but I don’t want to get into any more trouble with the department of education” Grant said “I spoke to the head of the department on Thursday and they reviewed your case. I was out of town that and just got the message upon my return. Since all the allegations were proven to be unfounded and you had a clean record here, they are willing to allow you back on a probationary period” Donald said as Grant looked at him. She removed the band that held her hair up in a ponytail and let her hair fall to her shoulders. She was staying in the hotel for one night because she was picking up the keys for the new flat tomorrow. The new flat she was supposed to be sharing with Frank. Beth sat on the bed and reached for her bag that sat at the end of the bed and she pulled out a notebook. She sighed and picked up the phone that sat on the table next to the bed. She inhaled deeply then exhaled and began to dial the numbers. She closed her eyes as the phone began to ring then she heard a male voice say hello “It’s me” Beth said as she opened her eyes Macklin Residence- The City “Well?” Brett said and sat at the desk in his luxury flat “He wouldn’t leave” Beth said and Brett sighed “I thought you said things were going great between the two of you?” Brett said annoyed Westin hotel- Melbourne “They were..then out of the blue he said he was staying” Beth said as a tear ran down her cheek Macklin Residence- The City “Where are you now?” Brett said Westin hotel- Melbourne “At a hotel in Melbourne. Beth- I’m working at a school in a little seaside town..you should see it Brett, its really nice Brett- Really, what’s it called? Beth- Summer Bay Brett- Summer Bay? Beth- Yes, have you heard of it?” Brett- Yes, I have actually…so have you met many of the locals? Beth- Well..I did met one guy..I think Brett- Why am I not surprised, as beautiful as you are, you can get any guy you want Beth- its not very serious though..Frank and I just met. Besides I’ll only be there for a few more months then I have to figure out what is next. Brett- Frank..Frank Morgan? Beth- Yes, do you know him? Flashback ends To this day Beth is still mad about the decision she made that day…going over to the Macklins house to drop off something for Bretts mum from her mum…agreeing to be involved in a scheme that Brett had cooked up, and even though she got a great job and flat..she was all alone. Bretts family were the only family who didn’t stop speaking to her family when her father accidently lost everyone’s money in a scheme. In fact it was Mr Macklin, Bretts dad who helped out when she was in uni so she always felt like she owed them. Flashback Brett- So how is it going? Beth- I gave him the job offer Brett- What did he say? Beth- He went home to think about it Brett- Good- its way too good of an offer for him to refuse Beth- I dont know about this Brett, what if he doesn’t take it? Chapter 537 Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Nick folded his arms as he watched Shane sigh and look at the floor with a disappointed and upset look on his face then he looked up at Nick “Dad wants to talk to you” Shane said and handed Nick the phone then he went into nicks room and flopped back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. He only caught bits and pieces of the conversation from what Nick was saying, but he could imagine what his dad was saying. Probably telling Nick how disappointed he was in him and that he would be grounded for ever when he got back home. “I’m sure it wont be that bad” Shane opened his eyes to see Shaunna standing by the door “You don’t know my dad” Shane said and he closed his eyes again. “When your brother gets off the phone, tell him I’m off to see Mrs Ross” Shaunna said “OK” Shane said without opening his eyes and sighed. “Alright..I’ll call you later…love to mum” Nick said and he put the phone down and sighed then he walked into his bedroom “Shane” Shane opened his eyes to see Nick standing by the door “Don’t worry, I’m going to pack my stuff” Shane said and got up from the bed “Wait” Nick said and Shane looked at him and sat on the bed “What you did was very stupid” Nick said “I had no other choice” Shane said “There is always a choice” Nick said “Look, I don’t want a lecture, you don’t want me here, I’ve embarrassed you in front of all your copper mates. don’t worry, I’ll go back home and face all the consequences” Shane said and he got up again “Just sit down and shut up” Nick said and he pushed Shane on the bed. Emma listened attentively as Lucinda told the story about each of the photos in the scrap book as they sat on the beach. Duncan was now taking a nap on the blanket that covered the sand. “This is us when we used to come and spend the summers in Summer Bay” Lucinda said “who is that?” Emma said pointing to a girl standing next to David “Oh, that’s Allison, I don’t remember her last name, but she used to live around here and had the biggest crush on David. He parents owned a dairy farm so sometimes we would go there and milk the cows” Lucinda said and smiled as her mind filled with so many wonderful memories growing up with her brother. Emma studied every detail in the photos trying to remember each one, so that she can tell a story in the future. “I remember this one” Lucinda said after she turned the page of the scrapbook and began to giggle. “We were in a play and performed at the church hall” Lucinda said then as she turned the pages there were more photos of David doing different activities. The more Emma saw of David, the more she became overwhelmed. She knew that any minute she would burst into tears, because the photos reminded her of how much she missed him “If you don’t mind, do you mind taking us back home” Emma said and turned away to wipe a tear that ran down her cheek “Is there something wrong?” Lucinda said as Emma racked her brains trying to come up with an excuses “I left Duncans cup at home” Emma said “We can use a plastic cup, I can go one from the diner” Lucinda was interrupted “No..he cries if he doesn’t have that cup to drink from” Emma said knowing she sounded stupid, but she culdnt think of anything else to say “Oh, ok then..no problem” Lucinda said as she gathered the scrapbook, and sandwiches they ate and put them into her bag. Without noticing a photo fell out and Emma pushed it into her pocket as she got up then picked up Duncan “I had a good time, thanks” Emma said as she put Duncan on her shoulder “Thanks for coming with me” Lucinda said “You’re welcome” Emma said and she followed behind Lucinda and wiped anpther tear from her eye… Background music ends Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Background music- Have you ever been alone instrumental “Don’t go too far” Frank said as he watched Sophie and Sally ride their bikes. He smiled as he watched Sophie and remembered how nervous she was when he said he was going to take the training wheels off. Frank turned and looked inside the engine of Marilyn’s car and began testing different things to see if he could figure out the problem with her car. “Any luck” Frank looked up to see Marilyn walking towards him holding a tray “I think it’s the carburetor, it might need a clean. If so, then I need to go down the shop to get some cleaner” Frank said “Oh, how much will that cost, Ill give you the money” Marilyn said as she put the tray down on the table in the front garden. “Don’t worry about it, its only a couple of dollars” Frank said “Well, to repay you for your kindness, I made some lunch for you and the girls” Marilyn said “Thanks” Frank said and smiled “Do you mind if I go inside and wash my hands?” Frank said “No, not at all” Marilyn said as she smiled at Frank “Sophie, Sally” Marilyn said after she got up and waved. A few seconds later, Sophie and Sally rode up on their bikes “I made some lunch for us” Marilyn said as Sophie and Sally parked their bikes as Frank came out of the house “Now you both know you have to wash your hands” Frank said pretending to be upset and Sally laughed and her and Sophie went inside. “I hope you don’t mind a leftover ham and cheese quiche” Marilyn said “No, that’s great” Frank said as he sat down. “Frank are you sure I cant pay you for working on my car?” Marilyn said “I haven’t done anything to it yet” Frank said and smiled Adam sighed as he got nearer to Marilyn’s house. He didn’t know why he was going there, he had meant to go to the diner to see Shannon, so he didn’t know how he ended up here. He didn’t know what he was going to say to Marilyn... he just wanted to see her. As he got closer, he noticed that she was sitting outside with somebody. They looked like they were laughing and joking..maybe on a date. Adam hid behind a tree and poked his head around the corner. He didn’t know why he was feeling jealous. He was with Shannon, he moved on, it was his choice to move on. As he took a closer look he noticed that she was with Frank, the bloke who beat Ben at cards and he sighed then he turned around and walked away.. “All clean” Sally said as she showed her hands to Frank then went and sat down at the table “Good girl, Sophie?” Frank said and Sophie opened her hands and showed Frank “Good girl” Frank said and Sophie motioned that she wanted him to pick her up and she hugged him. Sometimes she did that. She just wanted to be hugged by her mum or her dad. Marilyn smiled as she watched Frank kiss Sophies head and whisper that he loved her. She nodded and closed her eyes and hugged her dad and remembered when she never had anyone to give her a hug and tell her they loved her, and now she had a new mummy and daddy who loved her and she loved them so much. Grant yawned as he walked out of his room. When he got back from the diner he watched a movie and slept late. He woke up and went to have a surf then fell asleep again. As he walked to the kitchen, he noticed that the front door was open. He walked towards the door and was just about to shut it when he noticed Frank sitting down hugging Sophie then he moved the curtain and he noticed Marilyn smiling and talking to Frank and Sally eating her lunch. He stood for a few seconds and watched them. He watched how Marilyns face lit up..he watched as she in a way that he had not seen for a long time. If he didn’t know better, he would assume they were a couple having lunch… Background music end Routledge Residence- Summer Bay Pippa parked the car and looked at the house. It had a lot of memories, some very unpleasant as she thought about how Morag treated Bobby. Pippa sighed then she got out of the car and walked towards the front door. She rang the doorbell and waited. A few seconds letter the door opened. A teenage girl opened the door. Pippa remembered that Dr Routledge had a daughter, this was probably her. She did look like him “Hi, my name is Pippa Fletcher, I am looking for Dr Routledge” Pippa said ‘Ok, hold on” The girl said and she walked over to the bottom of the steps “DAD THERE IS SOMEONE AT THE DOOR FOR YOU” The teenage girl said and she walked away. A few moments later Dr Routledge came down the stairs “Hello Pippa, come in” Dr Routledge said with a smile. This was an unexpected visit, but it was one which pleased him anyway “Pippa stepped into the entryway as Dr Routledge closed the door and she followed him into the living room “Can I offer you a drink?” Dr Routledge said “Oh no thank you, I can’t stay long” Pippa said and smiled “How is your father?” Dr Routledge said “Doing much better, thank you. I hope you don’t mind me coming over” Pippa said “Not at all…by the way, congratulations” Dr Routledge said and smiled at Pippa “Thank you” Pippa said and smiled back “Dad where are my headphones?” The teenage girl said as she came into the living room “Probably in the same place you left it, in the garden” Dr Routledge said as the teenage girl rolled her eyes “Pippa, this is my daughter, Angel” Dr Routledge said “Hello” Angel said and smiled “Nice to meet you” Pippa said and smiled and Angel walked out of the living room “Is Angel visiting you school holidays?” Pippa said “Yes, but we are not staying, we are leaving soon, going to the gold coast to visit some family” Dr Routledge said as he stared at Pippa “Sounds wonderful. I wont keep you, I just wanted to let you know that I am back and ready to get to work” Pippa said “Great, well as I said I will be gone for the week, but if I give you the details of the contractor, would you mind finding out the progress of the office, and when we can move in?” Dr Routledge as he walked over to his desk and began looking for the contractors details “Yes, I can do that” Pippa said “What should I do if he says the office is ready to move in?” Pippa said and Dr Routledge looked at her “ No rush, take the week off, you deserve it for coming top of the class” Dr Routledge said and Pippa looked at him shocked “Top of the class?” Pippa said and Dr Routledge nodded “I’m surprised” Pippa said “Well you shouldn’t be, you worked really hard and deserve it” Dr Routledge said “Thank you..for your support as well” Pippa said as she noticed Dr Routledge staring at her “Don’t mention it” Dr Routledge said as he handed Pippa the paper, still staring at her. “Thank you..I will call first thing..I better get going” Pippa said and she began to walk to the front door “When are you starting your course?” Dr Routledge said as Pippa opened the front door “I need to check tomorrow, but I believe it starts next month” Pippa said as she stepped out of the house “I know you will be top of that class too” Dr Routledge said “Thanks…have a nice holiday” Pippa said as she turned around “Thank you, see you when I get back?” Dr Routledge said “Yes of course..bye” Pippa said and she smiled and she walked towards her car and got in. She started the engine and turned to look at Dr Routledge who smiled and waved. She waved then drove away as he watched her car disappear into the distance… Beach- Summer Bay Bobby was brought back to reality when the football touched her feet. She looked at the ball then to her left to Sam asking her to throw the ball back. Bobby smiled then she picked up the ball and threw it back to Sam who was playing football in the near distance with his dad. Bobby turned her attention to ocean and pulled her knees up and rested her elbows on her knees. Background music – Frank and Bobby’s theme Flashback Bobby- Hello Sweetheart did you sleep ok Sophie- Nodding Bobby- Lets find you something to wear because daddy is taking you and Sally out on your bikes ok? She was so happy that her daughter trusted her enough to start talking. Bobby smiled as he reached for some water. “Its really nice when we spend time as a family” Greg said after he wiped his mouth “Yeah, its nice” Bobby said “Next time we should have the whole family here, bring Sophie as well” Greg said “Yeah” Bobby said “I have to get used to the idea that I have a little girl as well.
