Greg tried to hide his surprise of seeing her in the house “Hi Dad” Sam said as he looked up from playing with his toy fire engine. “Hi, what are you doing here?” Greg said as Bobby got up from the couch and walked over to him and gave him a hug “I thought you would be glad to see us” Bobby said “Yeah, sorry I am..Since you worked last night, I thought you would be having a lie in or something” Greg said “That’s what I thought but I was wide awake at the crack of dawn..then I dropped Sophie off at the caravan park…looks like you have been up early as well” Bobby said I had to go over and pick up a part from Yabbie Creek” Greg said “On a Sunday? Michael is working you too hard” Bobby said “Nah, its ok…I knew it wouldn’t take long..I was going to come over later…who let you in?” Greg said “Shaunna, she was just going for a run on the beach” Bobby said as Greg walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge “I can make you something if you like” Bobby said “No..its ok..I better go and have a shower” Greg said “Ok, me and Sam will wait around, maybe we can do something together” Bobby said “You don’t have to do that..how about I meet you in an hour over at the beach house and we can have a day on the boat or something” Greg said said “Sounds good” Bobby said as Greg bent down and kissed her “Hey guess what” bobby said “What?” Greg said and kissed Bobby’s nose “Sophie spoke to Frank last night” Bobby said smiling as she looked at Greg ‘What was Frank doing there last night” Greg said and Bobby realized that maybe she shouldn’t have said that “He was passing and he just wanted to say goodnight to her” Bobby said “Didn’t he say goodnight to her when I was there?” Greg said “Yeah..but” Bobby was interrupted “But what?” Greg said and he moved away from Bobby “Greg there is nothing going on between me and Frank..I promise you there isn’t” Bobby said “So why does he still think he has the right to stop by whenever he feels like it?”Greg said “He knows he shouldn’t, but since it was his birthday, I just thought it would be nice that’s all” Bobby said and Greg looked at her “Its you I love” Bobby said and Greg sighed and moved over to Bobby and hugged her “Yeah I love you too. Its just that I know he wants more” Greg said “And he isn’t getting it and he knows that” Bobby said and she looked at him “How about I go over to the diner and get us some lunch?” Bobby said “Yeah, sounds great..I’ll meet you over there” Greg said and Bobby stood on her toes and gave Greg a kiss on his lips “See you later” Bobby said and Greg smiled “See you later” Greg said and Bobby said “Come on Sam, we wil see your dad later” Bobby said “Ok, bye dad” Sam said and he followed Bobby out of the house “See you later mate” Greg said and he closed the door and sighed. As he walked into his room he started thinking of the great night he had with Fiona and began to feel guilty. He didn’t think of Bobby once last night. He knew what he was doing was wrong, but last night felt so good to not be right.. Stewart Residence- Summer Bay “You’re really good with him” Emma looked around to see Sandra coming into the kitchen as she put some toast on a tray from Duncan. “Thanks” Emma said “We are both supposed to be looking after him” Sandra said “Yeah but you are working so its no bother. I like spending time with Duncan” Emma said and she smiled at Duncan. “When are Mrs and Mrs Stewart getting back? Emma said “Tonight” Emma said “I was thinking of inviting Maurice over” Sandra said “Why?” Emma said “Dint you hear what I said last night?” Sandra said “Yeah, but I didn’t think you meant it” Emma said “Well I did” Sandra said “Maybe you should wait a bit..you knw, until you know him a bit better” Emma said “I know him well enough, and I know I want to do it” Sandra said “So where am I supposed to go when this is happening?” Emma said and Sandra looked at her “Yeah..you’re right..maybe here is not a good idea…I don’t want to end up getting caught like Mr Stewarts daughter Roo” Sandra said “Roo got caught?” Emma said surprised “Yeah, when she lived here, she was going out with Frank Morgan..you know Steve’s brother” Sandra said and Emma nodded “Well Steve told me that Alf came home and caught them and threw Frank out of the house” Sandra said and Emma looked at her with a shocked expression “Are you joking?” Emma said and Sandra shook her head no “That’s how she got pregnant” Sandra said and Emma looked at her confused “When she came here she didn’t have any baby” Emma said “No, she gave the baby up for adoption…a little girl. Best thing for the baby, because I don’t know how she could’ve raised that baby by herself at 17” Sandra said as Emma looked at her then there was a knock at the door. Sandra got up from the chair and went to open the door. A Few moments Sandra returned “It’s a visitor for you” Sandra said and Emma turned around to see Lucinda “Hi” Emma said as Lucinda walked into the kitchen “I hope this is not a bad time’ Lucinda said “No, I was just giving Duncan some breakfast” Emma said “I’m going to the shop, ill see you later” Sandra said then she left the house as Lucinda sat down on opposite Emma “I was wondering if you wanted to go to the beach today” Lucinda said “I hadn’t thought about it, plus I have some homework to do for tomorrow” Emma said as wiped Duncans mouth and Lucinda felt disappointed “Oh..ok..its just that my parents sent Davids old scrap book and I thought you might want to look at it with me” Lucinda said and Emma immediately looked at her “I would love to look through the scrap book” Emma said immediately “Great..how about I pick you up at 12?” Lucinda said “Is it alright if I bring Duncan?” Emma said “Sure” Lucinda said and she gently patted Duncan on his head as Emma smiled Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Nick yawned as he put his hat on the chair as Shane followed him into the house and closed the door behind him. “Can I go and get my bag from the shed?” Shane said “Come straight back” Nick said. Shane walked out of the house as Shuanna was coming back in “Is that your brother?” is he back for another visit?” Shaunna said “He never left” Nick said “Excuse me?” Shaunna said confused “I thought I was dropping him off at the station so that he would get the train back to Brisbane, but he didn’t get the trian, and has been hiding out here in Summer Bay, in the shed” Nick said and he pointed in the direction of the shed as Shaunna began to laugh “Its not funny” nick said annoyed “Sorry…I didn’t mean to laugh..its just that he was living right under our noses and we didn’t even know it” Shaunna said “Imagine how I feel. I’m the copper, I’m supposed to sense these things” Nick said annoyed as Shane came back into the house “Hi Shane” Shaunna said as she looked at Nick then went into the kitchen as Nick picked up the phone “Do we have to call mum and dad now? ..cant I even have some breakfast and a shower first?” Shane said as Nick looked at him “You cant begrudge the bloke of some brekkie” Shuanna said as she drank some water. Nick looked at her annoyed “Ill just go and drink this in my room” Shaunna said trying not to laugh then she went into her room and closed the door as Nick sighed and put the phone down. Caravan Park- Summer Bay Background music- Have you ever been alone instrumental Finlay pushed the bedroom door open a little and noticed that Steve wasn’t in the room. She opened the door wider and snuck into the room. She opened the draw and pulled out Franks t-shirt and put it up to her face and inhaled. It smelled just like him Finlay thought as she remembered the time they almost made love, and the way that frank made her feel. She was in love with him, and she knew that he loved her. He wasn’t turning her down because he didn’t love her, he was just a nice guy looking out for Lance..but she was going to break things off with Lance because that was the only way to be with the love of her life… Summer Bay Frank smiled as he walked behind Sophie and Sally as they rode their bikes. Even though Sophie didn’t say much, the fact that she started to talk made him feel so proud. She was his daughter and there was nothing that was ever going to take him away from her.. Armstrong Residence- Shellharbour Beth looked around the flat one more time and put the key on the table. She had only been living in the flat for six months, but it felt like she had been living there for years. She remembered the landlord telling her that she could just turn the lock and close the door. He would be around tomorrow to get the key. Beth sighed then she picked up her bag and walked out of the flat and closed the door. She turned the handle a few times to make sure the door was closed then she made her way downstairs. She opened the boot of the car and put the bag in an empty space. Before she closed the door she looked at all her things in boxes and bags and the space she just put her bag in. That space was supposed to be for Franks things. Beth sighed and she wiped the stray tear that ran down her cheek and closed the boot and got into her car. She started the engine and took her cross body bag off and put it on the seat next to her. She sighed then she opened the back and took out the pregnancy test kit stick and looked at it. She knew what it would say, but she thought that maybe a miracle would happen and it would tell her she was pregnant then that would make Frank leave with her. She had the worst luck with me, and this was no different. Beth shook her head and sighed then she started the engine and threw the test stick out of the window and drove away… Beach- Summer Bay “Thanks” Frank said to the ice cream man as he licked some ice cream from his finger that had dripped. He went and sat on the bench next to Sophie and Sally as they stopped to eat ice creams. Frank smiled as Sophie looked up at him and he wiped ice cream from her mouth and winked at her. Today was such a good day…well any day was a good day when he got to spend time with his daughter “Hi Frank ” Frank turned around to see Marilyn walking towards him “G'day Marilyn...Not driving today? Frank said “No, I heard something making noise in my car so I didn’t want to risk it..I didn’t go far, just felt like having a walk on the beach” Marilyn said “I can have a look at your car if you want” Frank said “Oh could you?” Marilyn said excited “Yeah, no problem..why don’t you have an ice cream with us, and we can go over to your place and I’ll take a look” Frank said “Ice cream..I don’t know, ive been eating too many sweet things lately, I am sure I gained weight” Marilyn said “You look great, besides ice cream is a must have when the weather is higher than twenty three degrees, its an old Summer Bay wives tale” Frank said and Marilyn laughed. “Since you put it that way ill go and get one” Marilyn said “Good on yer” Frank said as Marilyn walked over to the ice cream truck then she turned around and looked at Frank..seeing him in a different light for the first time and smiled…. Thanks for reading Chapter 535 Police Station – Summer Bay “Sit down and SHUT UP!” Nick said as he pushed his brother onto the chair. Shane looked up at Nick. This was the first time that he has seen his brother so angry “Do you want to do this?” Nicks sergeant said “No sarge, you do it. He gets no special favours” Nick said and he wanted out of the interview room, and walked into the nearby toilet and closed the door. Background music- Home and away sad theme He felt angry and embarrassed. How was he going to explain this to his parents? How was he ever going to face the people he worked with, with them knowing he had a criminal for a brother? Nick sighed and shook his head. He always tried to live his life on the straight and narrow…doing what he knew was right. Even sacrificing his relationship with Julie because of her brother. Nick banged his hand on the toilet stall door then he ran his hands through his hair and sighed. He opened the door and closed the lid and sat on the toilet. He closed his eyes as he tried to remember his brother when he was younger. He remembered how his brother always wanted to go everywhere with him. Nick smiled as he remembered the first time his brother scored the goal that let his football team win. That was only one of the memories that came into Nicks mind as he sat in the toilet for a while….until the memories of seeing his brother in the caravan park came to his mind. Nick sighed. Being in here was not going to change what had happened, he knew that he had to go and at least get some answers. Nick inhaled and exhaled then he walked out of the toilet and back to interview room. As he was approaching he noticed his sergeant walking out if his officr. “Nick, I spoke to Mrs Fletcher, she doesn’t want to press any charges” “So what happens now?” Nick said Well, I will give him a warning, and you can take him home” The sergent said “No, can he stay in the cell tonight? I want him to be taught a lesson” Nick said “Is that really necessary?” The sergeant said “Yes” Nick said “Aright then, but get him out of here first thing..but there is something else” The sergent said “I ran your brothers details through the system, he is currently under a good behavior bond in Brisbane…he shouldn’t even be here” The sergeant said and Nick looked at him surprised “I didn’t even know that..I know you have to report this” Nick said disappointed “Well Mrs Fletcher said she doesn’t want to press any charges so, as far as I am concerned there is nothing to report” The sergeant said “Thanks sarge…sorry about all of this” Nick said “No worries” The sergeant said. Nick sighed and he walked behind the sergent as they both walked the short distance to the cells. Shane was huddled in the corner…he looked scared. Nick felt his heart break as he watched his brother, but he knew he was doing this for his own good. Shane looked up when he heard the cell gate open and changed his demeanor. “Can I get out of here now?” Shane said annoyed “I’m afraid not” The sergeant said and Noticed fear creep into Shanes eyes “There have been other burglaries in the area, soI am allowed to keep you in here for up to 24 hours for questioning” The sergeant said “But I didn’t take anything from that house” Shane said with fear in his voice. Nick noticed that and wondered if he was making the right choice to have Shane stay in the prison overnight “I’m sorry, but those are the rules. You can have 5 minutes with your brother then that’s it” The sergeant said and he turned and looked at nick and gave him a wink and he walked out of the cell leaving Nick and Shane alone “I bet you’ve already told mum and dad” Shane said “No” Nick said and Shane breathed a sigh of relief and smiled “You’re going to tell them” Nick said and Shane’s smile disappeared. His heart was beating fast, he knew he was going to be in trouble. He knew that his parents would make him go home straight away. He knew that going home meant that he would have to live with his dad and he hated the way his dad treated him. Also going home meant he had broken his good behaviour bond and he could be really going to prison. “Why didn’t you tell me about the good behavior bond…you’re not even supposed to be here” Nick said and Shane sighed. “Where have you been staying?” Nick said “In the shed behind the house” Shane said and Nick looked at him surprised. “Why did you do this?” Nick said “Because I didn’t want to live at home, and I don’t want to go to prison” Shane said and Nick sighed “So you thought you would run away instead? Do you know how much trouble you are in?” Nick said and Shane got up from the bed “I KNOW ALIGHT, I KNOW…BUT ANYTHING WAS BETTER THAN LIVING AT HOME WITH DAD” Shane said and a tear formed in his eye. “You don’t know what it has been like for me. Nothing I do is ever good enough. If I get a B in class he says well Nick got an A so you have to do better..I’m just sick of it” Shane said and he sat on the bed again. Nick sighed. He knew that his brother got into trouble, but his parents never told him about the good behavior bond. He felt guilty again. This is the second time that Shane had spoken about not wanting to live at homw. “Try and get some sleep, I’m working tonight, so ill ask the sarge if he will release you into my custody in the morning” Nick said and he walked towards the cell door “Nick” Shane said and nick turned around “I’m sorry” Shane said and Nick sighed and he nodded and walked out of the cell, locked it and walked away. Background music ends Nowra beach resort- Nowra Australia Alf flexed his muscles in the mirror as the sound of toilet flushing filled the room. He was so proud of himself. After round two, he felt like a new man. The prescription the doctor game him was working wonders. Alf looked down at little Alf and gave him a thumbs up and smiled then he looked at himself in the mirror and winked. He was just about to walk out of the bathroom when he looked down at little Alf again and noticed that he was still standing to attention…he also noticed that he had also changed colour to a deep purple. Alf looked around the bathroom and picked up a hand towel. He wet it with cold water and put it on little Alf however instead of doing what he had hoped, he started feeling a sharp pain. It was a pain he had never felt before and he let our an audible gasp. A few seconds later Ailsa came to the bathroom “Love are you alright?” ailsa said as she noticed her husband in pain. “Yeah…just got a little pain” Alf said “Where? What’s wrong?” Ailsa said and Alf pointed to his private area then walked over to the bed and sat down “I’ll take an aspirin or something, I’m sure the pain will go away” Alf said wincing in pain “Love you look like you are in really bad pain, maybe I should ask reception if they have the number for a doctor” Ailsa said as she walked over to the phone “NO..umm no, I’m sure I’ll be right in a few minutes” Alf said as he tried to smile even though he was in excruciating pain “You won’t be love, look at you” Ailsa said as Alf lay on the bed as Ailsa picked up the phone and called the reception. “Just my luck” Alf thought to himself. A few minutes later Ailsa put the phone down “Lucky for us, there is already a doctor on the premises seeing another patient, he will be right along when he finishes” Ailsa said and she went and sat next to Alf “I promise love, two aspirins and I’ll be right as rain” Alf said “I want the doctor to check you out..just to be on the safe side..by the way, where are the pills that you got on prescription?” Ailsa said as she got up from the bed “In my bag” Alf said as Ailsa opened the bag and pulled out Alfs toiletries bag. She took out the two bottles. One was Alfs medication for his heart and the other was the new prescription that Alf took “I’ll show these both to the doctor” Ailsa said and a lightbulb went off in Alfs mind “Ails..I have to tell you something?” Alf said “What love?” Ailsa said “Doc told me to take one of those tablets 30 mins before…but since they are so small..I didn’t think that one would work….so I took two” Alf said as Ailsa looked at him in shock… St Peters church- Summer Bay Background music- Have you ever been alone Frank looked at his watch..the new watch that Beth gave him last night. He had been sitting on Tom’s grave for about an hour. It was going to be a nice day because the sun was out early. He didn’t sleep much as usual. After finding the burgular in the house, he tried to get some sleep but to no avail. As soon as it was light enough to go for a walk he left the house. Frank picked up the wooden cross that was on the grave. He read the inscription. It was from Tom’s parents. He never saw much of Toms parents growing up, because they were missionaries in Africa, but they would always call during Christmas and they sent gifts. Frank looked at the wooden cross one more time, and put it back in its space in the grave. Frank sighed. Anyone else in his position would be jumping at the chance of leaving Summer Bay. Considering nothing was going right for him.. Flashback Yes this is Frank…I got the job? Are you serious? That’s great…yeah…thank you..ok when do I start? Yes I can be in the city in the next few days…great…thanks Flashback ends Frank remembered that day as if it happened yesterday. He remembered putting the phone down and immediately telling Roo that he got the job. He remembered what happened after that, they kissed. He remembered all the hopes and dreams he had for the future. He was a foster kid who didn’t have his HSC, yet he was getting a top paying job in the city, something he never thought he would ever get. Fast forward and here again he was presented with another great opportunity. Frank sighed… Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Sophie opened her eyes and yawned. She didn’t want to make any noise in case she woke anyone up. She looked around and noticed that her teddy had fallen on the floor. She got out of bed and picked up her teddy and got back into bed and cuddled her teddy.Today her daddy was going to take her and Sally to ride their bikes. She loved her daddy, and she told him last night when he was here. She loved her mummy and her new life here and never ever wanted to leave… Bobby opened her eyes. She looked at the clock next to her, it was still early. She made a mental list of all the things she had to do, take Sophie to the caravan park, go to the diner, make dinner..as she thought about all that, her mind drifted to Frank coming over last night. She knew something was wrong with him because she knew him better than anyone else…but that didn’t matter…she had Greg and Sam in her life and she wasn’t going to do anything to jeopodize their future… Harris Residence- Summer Bay Fiona and Greg kissed “I had a great night last night” Fiona said “Yeah me too” Greg said and smiled “Any chance of seeing you later?” Fiona said “No, not today” Greg said and Fiona did her best to mask her disappointment then greg leaned forward and kissed her again then they heard movement in her sons bedroom “I better go” Greg said in a whisper and then he kissed Fiona again and left the house. She smiled as she closed the door and leaned behind it. She sighed as her smile disappeared. She had fallen in love with Greg…and she knew that things couldn’t go on this way… Caravan Park- Summer Bay “I didn’t expect you to be awake” Pippa said as she walked into the kitchen. “After all the excitement last night…I didn’t sleep much, I went out for a walk. Do you want a cup of tea” Frank said “Its ok, I can get it” Pippa said as she walked into the kitchen “The kettle is still warm” Frank said as he drank his tea. A few minutes later Pippa said opposite him. She stared at him as she drank her coffee. As Frank lifted his cup to drink his coffee, Pippa noticed that he had a new watch “Nice watch” Pippa said remembering the watch that her and Tom gave Frank. She felt somewhat disappointed that he was wearing a new watch “Birthday present from Beth” Frank said as Pippa looked at him “Is everything ok?” Pippa said and Frank looked at her then sighed. He opened the gift bag on the seat next to him and took out the envelope and gave it to Pippa. Pippa put her cup down and she opened the envelope and began to read the letter. The more she read, the more she felt her heart breaking. “Sounds like a great job offer” Pippa said masking her disappointment “Yeah” Frank said “I didn’t know that you were applying for jobs” Pippa said and she put the letter back in the envelope “I wasn’t. I told you that Beth was leaving…she got a job in Melbourne..her friends dad told her about it, and he so happened to have a job for me as well” Frank said “Oh” Pippa said as she looked at Frank “Sounds like she really wants to make a go of things between you two” Pippa said “Yeah, she already got a flat and everything” Frank said as Pippa looked at him. She was trying to hold in her disappointment. She knew that things were not going the way Frank had hoped, but for selfish reasons, she didn’t want to see her son leave. “Last night I went over to Bobby’s to see Sophie….she was fast asleep. The room was a bit cold so I closed the window. I pulled the cover up and kissed her forehead. I told her I loved her and she opened her eyes and told me that she loved me” Frank said and Pippa smiled “Oh Frank” Pippa said and she gently put her hand on Franks arm “You and Bobby have worked so hard to gain Sophies trust” Pippa said and smiled “Yeah” Frank said as he looked at the watch on his wrist “Beth told me all about the new flat..its got two bedrooms, and its near the beach” Frank said and Pippas smile disappeared “I’m sure it will be a nice place” Pippa said and drank her tea to stop herself from crying “As Beth was telling me about the nice future we will have in Melbourne, she never once mentioned anything about Sophie…she never once said Sophie can come and visit” Frank said and he looked up at Pippa “Maybe it never came to her mind” Pippa said “Pippa, I’ve made some very selfish decisions in my life, but I’m not about to make another one. I cant leave Sophie..she is my daughter.She needs me now more than anything.What kind of father will I be if I just leave her and see her only in the school holidays…then she starts calling another man dad? I don’t want Greg raising my child…no way” Frank said and Pippa exhaled. She knew that the job in Melbourne would be a great opportunity for Frank, but she was also proud of him for putting Sophie first “I imagine that Beth will be disappointed. You can try to make it work” Pippa said and Frank shook his head “Long distances relationships don’t work” Frank said “You can try, look at me and Alex” Pippa said “That’s different” Frank said “How is it different?” Pippa said and Frank looked at her “…I don’t love Beth the way I love Bobby…and I don’t think I ever will. That is not a great foundation for a relationship” Frank said and sighed “Maybe not Beth…but when the time is right, you will find someone…someone who will mean the absolute world to you” Pippa said “I already have that…my daughter” Frank said “You know what I mean” Pippa said as Frank got up from the table. She knew that he was disappointed about not going. “I better go and break the news to Beth.” Frank said “Frank” Pippa said and Frank turned and looked at her “I promise, things will get easier here for you..I know they will” Pippa said “Promises are made to be broken…see you later” Frank said and and he walked out of the house. Pippa got up from the chair and looked out of the window. She watched as Frank got into the car and drove away. She felt guilty for feeling selfish. Her son was staying. She walked over to the phone and picke dit up and began to dial “Good morning…I hope I didn’t wake you up…I just called to tell you that I love you” Pippa said and smiled.. Background music ends Nowra hospital- Nowra Australia Ailsa opened the hospital room with her back as she held two cups of coffee. Alf was sitting up in the bed with his arms folded “No answer at home, Emma and Sandra are probably both still asleep. How are you feeling?” Ailsa as she handed him a cup of coffee “Like a damn fool” Alf said as Ailsa tried to stop herself from laughing “Well if you had followed the instructions that the doctor gave you” Ailsa said and Alf rolled his eyes Background music- Stewart Family theme “I know this wasn’t the weekend that you was expecting…me ending up in hospital” Alf said “I don’t know…its sort of romantic” Ailsa said “Come on Ails, don’t make a joke about it” Alf said and Ailsa started laughing then she put an arm around Alf and kissed the side of his head “I love you..and I would go all the way to the corner of the earth if it meant spending time with you” Ailsa said and Alf smiled “Yeah me too…I just hope this anniversary weekend has not been ruined for you” Alf said “Well we do have about six more hours before we head back home” Ailsa said and she looked at Alf and they both laughed then she laid her head on his shoulder and smiled Stewart Residence- Summer Bay Emma opened her eyes when she heard Duncan crying. She rubbed her eyes and got out of bed. She looked at Sandra who was fast asleep, and she walked out of the bedroom and the short distance to Duncan’s room. She opened the door to see him standing in his cot. She picked him up and sat on the chair in his room. “Good morning” Emma said and she gently hugged him and comforted him until he was quiet. She rested her head on his shoulder as he gently hugged her neck. She wondered if this is how it would be for her…when it was her time. Emma sighed as a tear ran down her cheek.. Background music ends Armstrong residence- Shellharbour Beth looked around as she made the last cup of coffee in the flat. There were only two boxes left that needed to go into her car. The flat was nice and clean just like it was when she moved in. She couldn’t believe that six months had flown by so far. She never had any expectations when she moved here. Most of all she never expected to find the man of her dreams Knock on door Beth smiled as she walked towards the door, there was only one person she was expecting “Hi” Beth said when she opened the door to see Frank standing there. Everyday he looked more handsome than the day before. He knew he had made the right decision, but for some reason he was feeling guilty Background music- Have you ever been alone * Beth put some milk in her tea “Its good that you came early, we can hit the road early and get to Melbourne in about two days” Beth said and she looked up to see that Frank didn’t respond “I have two boxes to go in the back of the car, so I hope you didn’t bring too much luggage” Beth said and smiled. Frank exhaled as Beth walked over to him and stared at him “You decided not to take the job..am I right?” Beth said feeling disappointed “It is a really great offer…but I cant accept it” Frank said “Is it because I didn’t tell you?” Beth said “No, its just complicated” Frank said and he could see the hurt in Beths eyes “Complicated? Frank you can at least give me a proper reason why you are breaking my heart” Beth said and Frank sighed “I cant leave my daughter” Frank said “She can come and visit” Beth said and Frank shook his head no “Its not the same. I have made many selfish decisions in my life, and leaving with you would be another one” Frank said “How do you know that?” Beth said “Because I have been in this situation before, and I know how its going to end” Frank said as Beth looked at him. He noticed a tear forming in her eye and his guilt increased. “So, I guess that’s it then” Beth said “I didn’t mean for you to get hurt” Frank said and Beth was queit trying to process what Frank was saying. “I guess its too late for that but..Its not all your fault, maybe if I didn’t force this decision on you, we might have had a chance” Beth said and Frank looked at her. He knew it wasn’t true. There was never going to be a chance for them..not as long as he loved Bobby “I want to give this back as well” Frank said as he gave Beth the gift bag with the watch she gave him. Beth sighed as Frank handed her the bag “Good luck with everything” Frank said as Beth looked at him then he leaned forward and kissed her cheek. As he pulled away, he noticed that she was crying now and she nodded. Frank sighed and he left the apartment. As he walked back to the car he wondered if he had made the right decision. Frank opened the car and got in. He was just about to put the key in the Ignition when he looked at the key ring that Sophie got him from his birthday. It was a photo of him and Sophie. Frank looked at it and smiled as all the guilt was lifted and he finally felt at peace with his decision to stay and be a dad as he drove away. Beth sat on the couch and cried. She was so disappointed. Frank was everything she had hoped for. She thought that this time it was true love. Beth sighed then remembered something that she had to do. She wiped her face with the back of her hand and went into the bathroom. She opened the cupboard and took out the pregnancy test that she had done a few minuted before Frank arrived and turned it over to read the results.... She was right. Greg unwrapped Fiona’s dressing gown and she let it fall to the floor leaving her standing naked in the kitchen. They continued to kiss passionately as Greg led Fiona to the dining table, laid her on the top and entered a place he knew very well… Nowra beach resort- Nowra Australia Alf collapsed on the bed next to Ailsa as they both panted out of breath. Alf smiled to himself. This was the first time in weeks that little Alf was back in good working order. Ailsa rested her head on Alfs chest and he put his arm round her. It had been a while since they made love, but tonight felt like old times. She then got up from the bed and opened the wardrobe. She took out several different clothes that were on hangers and held them up to her. She shook her head no at each on the she closed her wardrobe and went over to Emma’s. Emma had some really cool clothes Sandra thought to herself, and she pulled out a really nice top. She looked in the mirror and smiled. This was going to be the top she was going to wear for her and Maurices special nice…and she couldn’t wait… Ulladulla- Australia Revhead and Brax ran as fast as they could while holding the safe. They both jumped into a waiting van“Go go go” Brax said and the car tires screeched as they sped away. After a few minutes Brax and Maurice took off their ski masks “See I told you it would go smoothly” Brax said as he looked at the safe next to him and Maurice sighed. “The next one will be a piece of cake” Brax said “The next one? He looked at the clock on the dashboard, he had to have been sitting there for at least an hour. He looked at the letter in his hand. He didn’t know how many times he had read the letter in the past hour. It said the same thing over and over again. It was a job offer as an accountant for a firm in Melbourne. The job came with a car, an amazing salary and some wonderful perks. Frank sighed. If someone had given him this job offer a few weeks ago he would’ve taken it, no questions asked, but now things were different… Flashback Beth - Is something wrong? You have been really quiet since we left the restaurant Frank- I guess I’m still in shock about the job offer…It wasn’t something I was expecting Beth- Frank its going to be so good. The flat I got has two rooms, so we can both have family and friends to come and visit. The beach is not too far Flashback ends Frank sighed. He didn’t stay at Beths place long. He knew that she wanted him to stay, she told him she had another surprise for him, and she got dressed in sexy lingerie. However all through that and Beth talking about how good it was going to be, all Frank could think about was the most important person in his life right now and the guilt of possibly leaving her. Anytime Beth told him that she loved him, he felt guilty because he didn’t feel the same way. He felt guilty for letting things go further than they should have, but he was lonely. If only Bobby admitted that she loved him, this never would’ve gone anywhere with Beth…and most importantly he wouldn’t be facing the dilemma he was right now about the job. Frank sighed and put the job offer letter in the envelope. As he put the letter in the envelope, he looked at his wrist..at the new watch that Beth gave him. He had to admit , it was a nice watch, and probably cost her a lot of money. Frank sighed then he looked straight ahead and noticed that the light in Bobbys room turned on. He looked around then he got out of the car. His heart beat as he walked towards the door. Frank inhaled then exhaled and lightly knocked on the door. He heard footsteps coming down the steps “Who is it?” Bobby said “Its me” Frank said and he waited for Bobby to open the door “Frank…is something wrong?" Bobby said as she tied her dressing gown. She just came out of the bath when she heard the knock on the door “No…is Greg around?” Frank said “No, he’s at his place” Bobby said “I know its late, and I’m sorry for coming over, but is it alright if I see Sophie?” Frank said “She’s asleep” Bobby said “I know, but is it alright if I still see her?” Frank said “Yeah, come in” Bobby said “Thanks” Frank said and he walked up the stairs. Just like Frank knew Bobby better than anyone else, she knew him better than anyone else. There was something troubling him…she could feel it. She walked up the stairs behind Frank and went into her room to put her night clothes on. Frank gently opened Sophies door. She was fast asleep holding on to her teddy bear. Frank sat gently on the edge of the bed. He gently caressed her cheek and smiled. He couldn’t believe how much he loved her only after knowing her for a few weeks. When she looked at him, it made his heart melt. He would do absolutely anything for her…protect her from anyone…give her the world…and now he was faced with a dilemma of possibly leaving her when she needed him the most. The room was a bit chilly so Frank got up and closed the window and the curtains then he went back over to Sophie and pulled the covers up a little. Seeing his daughter laying so innocently made him feel so guilty about even having to make a decision to leave. “I love you so much sweetheart” Frank said and gently kissed Sophies forehead. Just as he was about to get up Sophie opened her eyes “I love you daddy” Sophie said in a soft and sleepy voice and closed her eyes again. Frank exhaled as a tear formed in his eye. He wiped his eye and rested his head on Sophies head and smiled then he kissed her forehead again and quietly walked out of the room. Frank closed the bedroom door, leaned against it and sighed as Bobby came out of her room dressed in her pyjamas. Frank smiled at her ‘whats wrong?” Bobby said confused “We made a breakthrough” Frank said as Bobby looked at him “Sophie?” Bobby said exited and Frank nodded “She spoke to me” Frank said “Oh Frank” Bobby said and before she knew it she grabbed onto him and exhaled. Frank sighed. Feeling Bobby next to him felt amazing. He didn’t want her to let him go. Bobby hugged Frank tight…tight and longer than she should have..but holding onto him felt so good..especially after hearing that their daughter spoke. “Our daughter is going to be ok” Frank said and kissed the top of Bobby’s head. It brought her back to reality and she let go of Frank and moved back. She looked at Frank and she could see some disappointment in his eyes. “I better go” Frank said and began to walk down the stairs. Bobby walked behind him “So what did she say?” Bobby said when they got to the bottom of the stairs “I told her that I loved her, and she said I love you daddy” Frank said as Bobby exhaled and put her hand on her heart. “Thank you” Bobby said and Frank looked at her “For what?” Bobby said “For being a patient and caring father. I know we have had our ups and downs, but thank you for being here for Sophie. I think it would break Sophies heart if you ever decided to not be her dad…or not see her” Bobby said as Frank stared at her. “Night” Frank said and he opened the front door “Frank” Bobby said and Frank looked at her “Is everything alright?” Bobby said “Yeah….fine..night” Frank said and he walked out of the house and closed the door. Bobby looked the door and opened the curtain. She watched as Frank got into the car and drive away. She could tell that something was wrong with him, but that part of her life was over…she had Greg and Sam in her life and that was her future…. As Frank drove to the caravan park, he thought about what life would be like in Melbourne, how he would be back in the grind of things. He thought about how much money he would make, and how he would be able to send some back to help Pippa, and also send some to Sophie. He thought about Sophie coming to stay with him when she was on school holidays…then his mind went back to Beth, and the fact that she never once mentioned Sophie. Frank sighed as he thought about Greg being around Sophie…and her eventually calling him dad. Maybe she would forget him altogether. Frank sighed as he parked the car outside the house. He walked the short distance to the front door and let himself in. The house was quiet which meant that everyone was asleep. Frank walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. He took out some juice and began to drink it when he heard a noise. He closed the fridge and quietly walked towards the backdoor. He could see a shadow and someone trying to open the backdoor. Frank looked around and remembered that Pippa kept a cricket bat in the pantry. Frank tiptoed into the pantry but he didn’t want to turn the light on. He heard a creaking of the door opening and he tiptoed out of the pantry and waiting in the corner. He heard the burglar walk into the kitchen. He saw them put on a torch light and walk over to the desk. Frank tiptoed behind the burglar and grabbed him from behind then they began to fight. Frank punch the burglar and he fell onto the couch but managed to slip out of franks grasp. He tripped on the dining table and a glass on the table fell to the floor. Frank grabbed his leg and they began to struggle on the floor. Frank overpowered the burglar when the light came on “What is going on?” Pippa said shocked “This dropkick was trying to burgle the house…phone the police” Frank said and Pippa rushed over to the phone “Please don’t phone the police..I didn’t take anything…honest” The burglar said through his balaclava as Frank sat on him “Well you should’ve thought about that before you broke in here..I bet you’re the same one who broke into the caravans” Frank said and the burglar was quiet “The police are on their way” Pippa said “Whats going on?” Sally said as she came downstairs “Go back to bed sweetheart” Pippa said “Is that a burglar?” Sally said excited “I’ll explain later, got back up to bed, and ill be up to tuck you in” Pippa said as there was a knock on the front door Pippa rushed to the front door as Sally hid around the corner “That’s was quick” Pippa said after she opened the door “I was in the area already” Nick said as he saw Frank kneeling on someone on the floor “What happened? She was expecting Maurice to meet her after work like he normally did. Usually he was there before the shop shut, but today he wasn’t. “You can turn the sign to close now Sandra” Celia said as she came out of the back “Ok” Sandra said as she walked to the front door. Sandra turned the sign, and looked out of the window. She still didn’t see Maurice’s car. “Can you just put these boxes in the back then we can go” Celia said “Ok” Sandra said and she walked to the counter and picked the boxes up and took them to the stockroom. When she walked back to the shop floor, Mrs Ross was putting her jacket on. “Thank you for your hard work today” Celia said “You’re welcome” Sandra said “I assume Alfred will take care of your wages when he gets home” Celia said “He paid me already” Sandra said as they walked to the front door “Alright then..well see you tomorrow” Celia said as she locked the door “Ok, bye” Sandra said as she watched Mrs Ross walk away. Sandra looked at her watch again then looked around and sighed and began to walk home. Caravan Park- Summer Bay Frank opened the bathroom door and walked the short distance to his room. “Happy Birthday” Frank turned around to see Finlay standing behind the door. Finlay sighed as she looked at Frank then she walked over to the towel on the floor and picked it up and wrapped it around her then she opened the door, made sure no one was around and she walked out and closed the door. She rushed into the spare bedroom and closed the door behind her and smiled to herself. She knew that Frank wanted her, he didn’t deny it. She knew that it was only a matter of time before they would be together…she knew it, and she couldn’t wait. Colleen put a little bit more lipstick and smiled at herself in the hand held mirror. “No, tonight its not Donald..I’ve moved on to someone else” Colleen said and smiled at herself Caravan Park- Summer Bay Frank buttoned the cuff of his shirt as he walked down the stairs. His birthday hadn’t been bad, it was probably one of the best that he had in a long time. He got to spend the entire day with his daughter, and now he was going to go to dinner with Beth. “You look nice” Pippa said as she looked up from mending Steve’s button “Thanks” Frank said and Sophie looked round. She was sitting on the couch watching a repeat of Playschool. Frank put his arm around her and kissed her forehead “You ready?” Frank said and Sophie nodded. Pippa smiled. Frank was such a caring father, and he loved Sophie very much. Pippa looked to her left when she heard some footsteps. It was Sally. Background music- Home and Away kids’ theme “Sophie I’m sorry for pushing you on the floor, I didn’t mean to make you cry ” Sally said and she handed Sophie a homemade card. Sophie opened it and looked at the card. She liked the card “I’m sorry Frank” Sally said as a tear ran down her cheek “I’m sorry for yelling at you” Frank said and he smiled and gave Sally a hug “We better get going” Frank said and he got up and put Sophie’s rucksack on his back as Sally and Sophie looked at each other “Can we be friends?” Sally said and Sophie nodded. She spent the whole day with him, and she had a really good time. He appeared to like the animals at the shelter, and he definitely liked the ice-cream that he, Emma and Lucinda ate as they sat at the beach “So what do you think?” Sandra said “About what?” Emma said as she continued to make faces at Duncan who was laughing “Me and Maurice” Sandra said “I dunno, just talk to him about whatever” Emma said “How can I talk to him when I don’t even see him?” Sandra said and she leaned back on the chair and crossed her arms “I dunno, call him or something” Emma said “Maybe he is being distant because we haven’t..you know had sex” Sandra said “Maybe he just has other things to do, like helping his parents or seeing his mates or something” Emma said “No, I think he doesn’t think I am mature enough” Sandra said “Having sex doesn’t make you mature” Emma said “I know, but that’s what you’re supposed to do with your boyfriend” Sandra said “Yeah when the time is right” Emma said and silently sighed “I’ve decided, the time is right for me and Maurice” Sandra said and smiled to herself. The pie is an old family recipe. My grandmother used to make it for us when we were younger” Celia said and smiled. She really enjoyed Shaunna’s company. It reminded her of having Ruth around. “Oh I nearly forgot the dessert” Celia said and she got up and opened the fridge and took out the fruit flan and put it on the counter. I think I would gain so many kilos eating your food if I didn’t work out all day” Shaunna said as she looked at the flan “Haydn do you want some desert?” Celia said “Yes please, but I just need to go to the bathroom first” Haydn said then he got up and went to the bathroom “So did he behave himself today?” Celia said “Yes, he was great” Celia said “He has completely changed; I am not sure what got into him” Celia said as she cut the flan while Shaunna smiled to herself… Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Background music- Frank and bobby’s theme Frank kissed Sophies head and tucked her teddy bear next to her and carefully pulled the blanket up to her chest as it was a bit chilly. I didn’t even get to the end of the book. She didn’t have a nap this afternoon, so she must’ve been really tired..Is it alright if Sophie comes to the caravan park tomorrow? I want to take Sophie and Sally out on their bikes” Frank said “Ok” Bobby said as she looked at Frank. He looked really good. She could faintly smell his aftershave, and he was wearing a shirt that she didn’t recognize. “Anyway, I better go” Frank said a “Alright” Bobby said “See you later” Frank said “Yeah, bye” Bobby said and Frank left the house “Marilyn are you sure you don’t mind babysitting tonight? I mean I can ask Greg” Bobby said “Oh no, I’m just going to put a face mask on, watch a movie and eat some popcorn” Marilyn said as Greg came down the stairs “Sam is out for the count, I didn’t even get to the end of the story” Greg said “Frank said the same about Sophie, I think they are both worn out” Bobby said as she walked into the kitchen “Shame you have to work tonight..I was hoping we could spend the evening as a family” Greg said as he put his arms around Bobby “I know” Bobby said “I had a really good time today..just me you and Sam…hopefully next time we can take Sophie with us” Greg said and Bobby smiled. “Yeah that will be nice” Bobby said. She remembered how upset she was ,almost on the verge of divorcing Alf when he had the affair with Debra, and here she was doing the exact same thing with Grant..well not really. She didn't love Grant, and she wasn't about to run off with him. What they had was physical. Ailsa thought to herself and sighed “Whats the matter love?” Alf said “No, nothing” Ailsa said “Are you sure?” Alf said “Everything is fine love” Ailsa said and she gently kissed Alf on the lips and rested her head on his chest. This is where she wanted to be..with Alf, and she promised herself that as far as she was concerned, anything she had with Grant was over….. Thompson Residence- Brisbane Sarah watched as the phone rang. She picked a tissue from the box in front of her as her cat curled by her feet. She wiped the tear that ran down her cheek as the answering machine started “Hi, leave a message…beep” “Sarah, it’s Martin… I have been racking my brains trying to figure out what I did or said at the diner that upset you…whatever I did.. I’m sorry… you are the last person that I would want to hurt..i really want to see you again..apologize in person...please give me another chance…beep” Sarah sighed as the answering message ended. What she heard sounded very familiar..maybe they were all like that..they must be if they said the same thing. Sarah sighed and picked up the envelope on the table in front of her and took out the photos as more tears ran down her cheek.. Bayside diner after dark- Summer Bay Colleen smiled as Grant kept looking in her direction. She couldn’t believe that a man half her age would be interested in her. She tried to ignore the compliments he gave her and the looks and winks, but now she was certain that he really wanted her. She swayed along to the song he was singing and smiled. She had never heard of the song but it must’ve have been popular because everyone at the diner was enjoying it. Colleen pushed a curl behind her ear and clapped as Grant finished playing the guitar then he walked towards the booth. Colleen used her tongue to wipe any lipstick she had on her teeth and sat up straight. Tonight was definitely going to be her lucky night “You were great Grant” Colleen said and smiled seductively at Grant. “Thanks Mrs S” Grant said and he walked over to the booth behind Colleen and began talking to some tourists from England. Colleen was shocked as she looked behind her. All the time he was looking in her direction, he was looking at the tourists behind her. So getting her hair and make up done was all for nothing. She felt like such a fool. She knew exactly how she must've looked like to Grant. “What can I get you Mrs Smart? She was just about to walk towards her office when she froze and watched as a waiter led Frank and Beth to a table in the dining room. I love you Beth Frank sighed silently as he read the card then he looked up at Beth who was smiling “I hope you like it” Beth said and smiled as Frank took the box out of the gift bag “I’m sure I will” Frank said as he carefully unwrapped the present. His eyes opened wide when he opened the box. It was a very expensive watch. He had seen Brett Macklin wear something similar “So do you like it?” Beth said excited as Frank looked up at her “Its lovely, thanks” Frank said and he got up and kissed Beth on her cheek. Frank carefully opened the letter and read it. It was a job offer in Melbourne working as an accountant. The pay was fantastic way more than he made at the Macklin corporation, and the position started next week “So…what do you think?” Beth said excited “I don’t know what to say” Frank said “I know I should have told you but, a few weeks ago I got a call from a friend of my dad who told me about an assistant headmistress position in Melbourne. I didn’t even think I would get it, but luckily I did. I just also happen to tell this friend of my dad about the amazing boyfriend I have, and he told me that he had a position for an accountant at his firm, and based on my glowing reference he decided to give you the job. I already have a place lined up for us, and your job comes with a car” Beth said “This is all really sudden..” Frank said. He was right, it was sudden. He really didn’t expect this job offer. Based on the details he was reading, the job was a dream job. He started feeling some familiar feelings..the feelings he felt when he found out that he got the job at the Macklin corporation in the city. He remembered how that opportunity was a fresh start for him, how he had so many hopes and dreams for the future.. Beth watched as Frank read the letter in his hands "So what do you say?" Chapter 532 Mason Bistro- Brisbane Martin looked at his watch, Sarah was 15 minutes late. He racked his brains trying to remember if he had the time wrong, or the wrong location. He drank some of his coffee and looked out of the window and sighed. “Sorry I’m late” Martin turned to see Sarah taking off her jacket and sitting opposite him “No worries, I just got here” Martin said and smiled as he looked at Sarah. She looked even better than he remembered “What can I get you “The waitress said as she came over to the table “Oh just a coffee please” Sarah said as she smiled at the waitress who nodded and walked away “So, how’s the leg?” Sara said as she pushed her hair behind her ears “Getting better every day” Martin said as he lifted his plastered leg up. Sarah smiled then she looked up as the waitress put her coffee on the table “Thanks” Sarah said and smiled as Martin looked at her Background music- Romance theme * “You sure you don’t want anything else? Let me see I think I can afford for us to share a sandwich” Martin said as he reached into his pocket and took out two pennies as Sarah laughed. Martin always made her laugh. That is what she liked about him “No, the coffee is fine thanks” Sarah said and poured some milk into her coffee. “So what else do you do on your day off?” Martin said as he watched Sarah sip her coffee. Even though he didn’t know her well, there was something that he liked. Martin sighed silently as he remembered Megan. He really thought he was in love with Megan, he even thought he was going to marry her but she never felt the same as him “Well me and my flat mate, we clean our flat then we go and shop for food then maybe go and watch a movie if she doesn’t have plans with her boyfriend. When she does I stay home and watch TV with my cat cuddles” Sarah said and smiled “Cuddles…I wouldn’t mind meeting Cuddles one day..animals love me” Martin said and smiled. Sarah smiled. “What about you?” Sarah said “Right about now wishing I was lying on a beach somewhere” Martin said and sighed “Well the Sunbird beach is only 40 minutes from here” Sarah said “Yeah, but it probably isn’t as good as the beach we have at home in Summer Bay” Martin said and smiled “I bet its better” Sarah said and giggled “Ok, since you want to bet…we have to check out both places. I’ll go to Sunbird, then you have to come to Summer Bay…is that a deal?” Martin said and he put his hand out and Sarah started giggling “Come on, you’re the one who made the bet” Martin said as he looked at Sarah who was giggling. She didn’t know Martin well, yet here she was, potentially going away with him. Sarah nodded “Ok” Sarah said then she shook Martins hand as she giggled. Martin noticed how soft her hands were and how beautiful her eyes were when she smiled “I dunno about you, but I think I’m going to have some of that apple pie over there…excuse me, two slices of apple pie please” Martin said and the waitress nodded. Sarah was about to protest then she decided against it. She was enjoying Martins company. Shortly after the waitress returned with two slices of apple pie. “I should think of what I am going to get when I win the bet” Martin said as he ate some of his apple pie “I wouldn’t get too over confident if I was you” Martin said “Oh yeah?” Sarah said “Yeah” Martin said and Sarah giggled “the food is great, the people are friendly..hey, you will see a familiar face. Lt Lucini will still probably be there” Martin said and Sarah froze as she stared at Martin “Something wrong with your apple pie? tastes good to me…I should’ve asked for custard as well..excuse me can I have some custard please…do you want some custard?” Martin said as he looked at Sarah who looked like a possum caught in headlights “I’m leaving” Sarah said and she got up and put her jacket on as Martin looked at her confused “Why? You just got here” Martin said “I don’t want to see you again” Sarah said and she picked up her bag and walked towards the entrance “Wait..what did I say?” martin said as he struggled to get up but was too late, Sarah had already walked out of the Bistro. Martin sighed and he sat down. He knew what he said. Mentioning Lt Lucini. He knew it was a stupid thing to do, but he thought Sarah would’ve opened up and said why she had a problem with him. Martin looked at the waitress as she put the custard on the table. He wasn’t even hungry anymore. He was annoyed and probably just ruined a potential relationship. He had to find out what Lt Lucini did to Sarah that made her frightened of him, but he didn’t know how he was going to do it… Background music ends Beach- Summer Bay “Bobby look we caught a fish” Sam said excited “Thats great Sam!” Bobby said and smiled as Greg took the fish off the line and put it in a bucket “So that’s three fishes, I think we did good didn’t we mate” Greg said “Yeah” Sam said excited “Alright, lets wash our hands and have some lunch” Greg said as Bobby put the sandwiches on the table “What are you doing?” Greg said “Putting the sandwiches out” Bobby said “No you don’t. I told you that you don’t have to do anything. Just sit down and relax” Greg said “Ok ok” Bobby said and she put her hands up and sat down. She turned around and looked at the at how far they were from the beach and signed. Even though it was peaceful she couldn’t help thinking about what Steve said. Flashback Frank- This is a bit sudden, you wanting to leave Steve- I’ve been thinking about it for a while Sally- Steve are you going to come back Steve- Maybe one day Sal Sally- but why do yo have to go? Steve- I just do Sal Bobby- If its going to make you happy, then I say go for it Steve- Thanks Bobby Flashback ends “Bobby” Bobby looked up to see Greg giving her a plate “Sorry, I was miles away. This looks great, thanks” Bobby said and smiled. She wasn’t really hungry. She knew why Steve was going, he felt responsible for Thomas dying. “Is there something wrong?” Greg said “No, nothing” Bobby said “I thought it might have something to do with what Steve told you” Greg said “No, its just been a long week” Bobby said “Well hopefully us spending time together as a family will cheer you up” Greg said as he sat next to Bobby and kissed her cheek “Yeah, it will” Bobby said and smiled.. Shaunna blew her whistle as the kids came running back onto the sand from the water “Well done. Now we’re going to take a break for lunch, then we are going to do some basic first aid” Shaunna said and the kids in front of her nodded and rushed over to where their lunches and towels were “Hello Shaunna” Shaunna turned around to see Celia walking towards her “Hello Mrs Ross” Shaunna said “I just wanted to come along and see how everything was going” Celia said “Yeah, good” Shaunna said “I must admit, I was surprised when Haydn said he wanted me to make him a packed lunch because he was going to junior lifeguaurds” Celia said and Shaunna smiled to herself “He mustve heard from his school mates how fun it was going to be” Shaunna said “Yes, that is probably what it was…oh before I forget, I brought you some lunch as well” Celia said “Oh you didn’t need to” Shaunna said but secretly she was happy because Mrs Ross made the best sandwiches “Oh yes I did. Caravan Park- Summer Bay Steve quietly opened the backdoor, closed it behind him and walked around to the back porch and sat down and sighed. He did it…told his family he was going. Now that it was out in the open he didn’t know how he felt because now it was a reality..he was really going. Steve rolled his eyes as he watched Ben park the car. He didn’t know what Carly saw in him, he was a scum bag, and she had turned into a scumbag since marrying him “I’ll give you a dollar to clean my car” Ben said as he walked up to the house “Get lost” Steve said “You’ve been asking for a really good hiding” Ben said and Steve got up “Yeah from who?” Steve said “From me you little drop kick” Ben said as he and Steve bumped chests “Go on then..I’m not afraid of you” Steve said “Yeah” Ben said as he got annoyed then he started to laugh. Steve reminded him of new army recruits that thought they were brave “Go on, take a shot I’m not afraid of you scumbag” Steve said “Hey , whats going on here?” Steve and Ben both looked behind them to see Frank holding Sophie. Sophie wanted to ride her bike for a little bit before she had some cake. Even though she realized yesterday, seeing Sophie with Frank today, she knew there was no way she could she could stop him from being her dad. She was disappointed. She hadn’t seen him much, and was hoping they could spend more time together. Beth smiled “This is one of the reasons why I love you..you’re a great father. I understand. I can wait until Saturday night” Beth said and smiled. She drank some of her coffee and rested her head on Frank’s shoulder. She couldn’t wait until Saturday because they only had a few more days until she was leaving, and she was going to give Frank the best birthday present... Bayside diner- Summer Bay Grant wiped the counter and as he turned to wipe the side he saw Sam and Sophie sitting in the corner. After school, Bobby brought them to the diner so she could finish up putting the files into the new computer “Hi Sophie, Hi Sam” Sam looked around “Hi Mr Grant” Sam said with his mouth full of doughnut “How was school today?” Grant said “Ok” Sam said. Grant looked at Sophie. She didn’t say anything. She didn’t eat her doughnut or drink her milk either. She looked up at Grant then she looked towards the entrance of the diner. Grant sighed as he looked at Sophie. He could tell that she was upset about something. Maybe she missed her dad he thought to himself as he watched her looking at the entrance to the diner. Grant sighed then he went back into the kitchen “Oops” Colleen said as she almost bumped into Grant then she gently touched his forearm and smiled then she walked out of the kitchen with the customer order “Bobby do you have a moment?” Grant said as he knocked on the half open office door “Yeah what is it?” Bobby said as she cross checked what she typed “Honestly I don’t know how we were able to survive without this computer” Bobby said then she looked at Grant “What?” Bobby said and Grant sat opposite her “You know that I am always on your side” Grant said and Bobby looked at him confused “Yeah” Bobby said then Grant inhaled and exhaled “What you’re planning to do..take Franks name off the foster application..I don’t think it’s a good idea..I know its not my business but” Grant was interrupted “You’re right..it is none of your business” Bobby said as grant looked at her surprised “Think about how this is going to affect Sophie” Grant said “ That is what I am thinking about. You don’t know Frank like I do. Dad was right, he was only using Sophie to get back with me. Now that he sees that I’m not going to drop everything and go running back to him, he’s just dumped her just like he dumps everyone else when hes bored” Bobby said annoyed. Grant stared at Bobby. He was a bit surprised by her response which confirmed what he had known all along. “I know I don’t know Frank, but” Grant was interrupted “No, you don’t, so I would appreciate it if you kept your opinions to yourself” Bobby said and Grant sighed then he got up and walked out of the office and closed the door. Bobby opened the desk draw and took out her address book. She picked up the phone and began to dial “Hi..this is Bobby Simpson can I speak to Mrs Malloy..oh shes not there..can you ask her to phone me…she has the number….ok thanks” Bobby said and she put the phone down. The sonner she can take Franks name off the better. Now that her and Greg were back together, she was not gong to do anything to jeopardize their future. Background music ends Summer Bay “Yeah, school is going great mum” Shane said and sighed. He felt guilty that he had to lie to his mum, but he had no choice. There was no way that he was going back home “Yeah..Nick is working nights all week. I think he said they are short staffed..alright I’ll tell him to phone..yeah. Mum I have to go, the pips are going..No, I’m not at home…I just left the library…alright..I love you too..bye” Shane said then he put the phone down and breathed a sigh of relief. He leaned on the phonebox door and stared at the phone. He put his hand in his pocket and looked at the change in his hand. It wasn’t even enough to buy a cup of tea. Shane sighed as his stomach rumbled. He was hungry and if he was honest with himself hiding out here wasn’t fun anymore, but he had no other choice. He sighed then he put his hood on his head and opened the phonebox door. He had to figure out how he was going to get some more money because he definitely wasn’t going back home. Harris residence- Kiama Knock on the door Fiona wiped her hands as she heard her son rushing towards the door. “Mum it’s Greg” Scott said and Fiona sighed as she walked out of the kitchen “G’day” Greg said and smiled as he walked towards Fiona. As he leaned in to kiss her he noticed that she wasn’t her usual self. “Is there something wrong?” Greg said and Fiona sighed “I saw you and Bobby together today..I came to the boatshed..I thought you might want to have some lunch” Fiona said “I didn’t know she was coming over” Greg said “It looked like you didn’t mind her being there” Fiona said as she folded her arms and looked at Greg “I still don’t know where things stand with me and Bobby” Greg said “But I like you, and I still want to see you” Greg said and he put his arms around Fiona who sighed. She knew this was wrong. Fiona nodded then she leaned forward and kissed Greg… Caravan Park- Summer Bay Finlay opened the drawers and took out Franks t-shirt. She put the t-shirt up to her face and began to breath in. It smelled just like Frank. She rested it on her chest and closed her eyes as she remembered Frank kissing her. “What are you doing in here?” Finlay jumped to see Steve standing behind her “I I I was just putting away some laundry that mixed in with mine” Finlay said and put the t-shirt back into the draw, smiled , and walked out of the room. She rushed into her room and closed the door. Finlay breathed a sigh of relief and smiled to herself.. “Frank can you read me a story?” Sally said as she watched Frank put on his jacket “I cant Sal…you know I have to read Sophie a story” Frank said and Sally looked at him disappointed “I promise I’ll read one to you soon ok” Frank said as he knelt in front of Sally and gently tapped her nose with his finger “Ok” Sally said disappointed. Phone ringing Frank got up and walked towards the phone “Hello caravan park” Frank said “Pippa hi” Frank said and smiled. Sally walked over to the couch and sat down as Frank spoke to Pippa on the phone. She didn’t like Sophie anymore, and she wished she would go away, and leave Frank alone…. Stewart residence- Summer Bay “What do you think?” Sandra said as she attempted to pass the plate to Emma “Emma” Sandra said and she nudged Emma “What?” Emma said “What do you think?” Sandra? “About what?” Emma said “Me and Maurice. Lately he hasn’t been the same. Maybe he thinks I’m too young…what do you think?”Sandra said “I don’t know..maybe you are just overreacting” Emma said as she wiped the plate and put the plate in the cupboard. For some reason she was really tired today “I don’t know. He purposefully stayed away after speaking to Bobby after work. “G’day” Grant said as he tried to avoid looking at Bobby “Sorry no left overs” Greg said “ That’s alright, I had dinner at the resort with Marilyn, shes working late tonight” Grant said as he walked into the bathroom to wash his hands. Sophie and Sam were watching a repeat of Playschool. Sophie hugged her teddybear and watched the TV. The playschool man looked like her dad Knock on the door Sophie immediately looked at the door as Greg walked over to the door and opened it “G’day” Frank said as Bobby walked out of the kitchen. He has some nerve Bobby thought to herself “G’day” Greg said and he walked away. “Hi Uncle Frank” Sam said “Hello mate” Frank said as he walked into the house “Hi Sweetheart” Frank said and Sophie immediately got up and rushed over to her dad. Frank picked her up and could hear Sophie breathe a sigh of relief. Frank smiled, he missed his daughter so much. “You watching playschool” Frank said and he could feel Sophie nodding “Ok lets watch a little bit before you go to bed” Frank said then he sat on the couch and they watched it together. Bobby watched Sophie and Frank. He could tell that Sophie had really missed her dad. Bobby looked away and walked into the kitchen… Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Shaunna took the towel off her head and put it on the bed. She tied her dressing gown tighter and sat on the bed. She picked up the photo album on the chair in front of her and opened it. She smiled as she looked through the photos. They were all photos of her at different stages in her life. She got to the end of the photo album and a newspaper clipping fell out onto her lap. Shaunna picked up the black and white clipping and looked at it. It was a photo of Pippa Fletcher and John Farhnam then she opened the last page of the photo album, and smiled as she put the newspaper clipping in. It was interesting that she put the photo on the last page because it symbolized to her the ending of a chapter and the beginning of a new chapter. Shaunna smiled and laid back on the bed and rested the album on her chest and closed her eyes…. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme Frank smiled as he kissed Sophie on the forehead, tucked her teddy bear in the bed with her, and pulled the blanket up. He stopped and stared at her few minutes. He could tell that she had missed him because she refused to get into the bed. He had to read the story to her while she sat on his lap. Frank exhaled, he loved his daughter so much, and was never going to miss seeing her again. Frank got up and put the book on the book shelf. He turned one more time to look at his daughter then he pulled the door to the edge. Frank yawned. He was really tired, but he knew that tonight was not going to be any different in terms of him not being able to sleep much. Frank walked down the stairs. He heard Bobby in the kitchen and he walked towards her “If its alright, I got some tickets to take Sophie to the Playschool live show next week when shes on school holidays” Frank said and Bobby looked up at him “Are you sure you’re going to turn up?” Bobby said as she cleaned an already cleaned kitchen table “Excuse me?” Frank said confused “You don’t bother to come and see Sophie for two days, then you just walk in here like nothing is wrong” Bobby said annoyed “What are you talking about?” Frank said “I’m talking about you just pushing Sophie aside like she doesn’t even matter” Bobby said “But she does matter” Frank said confused by Bobby’s accusations. “I should have known that once Beth got her claws into you, Sophie would be second choice. Dad always said you would get bored of playing dad, he was right” Bobby said annoyed. Grant stopped playing the guitar and crept over to the door and listened “Got her claws into me? What are you talking about?” Frank said “I’m talking about you not bothering to see Sophie for the last two days” Bobby said and folded her arms “I know I should’ve called but it it was really late” Frank was interrupted “oh so now you realized you should’ve dragged yourself away from Beth to phone your daughter?” Bobby said sarcastically “JUST SHUT UP! YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT” Frank shouted at Bobby and she looked at him surprised. “Yesterday the showers flooded at the caravan park, it took ages for me and Steve to stop the flooding. By the time we got back into the house it was too late, and I knew Sophie would be in bed. The night before I was so tired, and I just meant to have a nap and I overslept” Frank said as Bobby realized that she had over reacted and had made a fool of herself. Frank looked at Bobby. He knew her well enough to know that she was probably feeling stupid right now.. “I didn’t know about the caravan park” Bobby said “Well maybe you should check your facts before you make stupid accusations” Frank said and he walked out of the house and slammed the door. Bobby jumped as the door slammed. She felt like such a fool. Bobby sat down at the dining table and tried to process what just happened, and what she had planned to say to Mrs Malloy. Bobby exhaled as she heard Grants bedroom door open. He avoided looking at her and walked into the kitchen. Grant grabbed a glass and poured himself some Milk and was about to walk back to his room “Grant” Grant turned around and looked at Bobby “I’m really sorry about earlier. I really shouldn’t have taken it out on you” Bobby said “There is nothing to be sorry for..I shouldn’t have poked my nose in, you are right, it is none of my business” Grant said as he sat opposite Bobby “You were trying to make me realize that what I was doing was making a mistake. Seeing Sophie with Frank tonight…she loves him so much. My daughters heart was breaking because she didn’t see her dad. It makes me feel like I was being a bad mother” Bobby said as tear came to her eyes “Hey, you’re not a bad mother..you just didn’t know what happened” Grant said and Bobby looked at him “Sorry I wasn’t eavesdropping, I heard Frank when he was shouting” Grant said “I deserved it, for being angry at him for no reason” Bobby said “So what are you going to do? I mean about the foster parent application and Greg?” Grant said “I just cant stop Frank from being Sophies dad..I just cant” Bobby said as she wiped a tear from her cheek “ I just have to tell Greg that it is too late in the application process to make any changes” Bobby said “You think he will go for it?” Grant said “I hope so..because there is no I can keep Sophie from Frank…she loves him too much” Bobby said and Grant looked at her “As much as you love him?” Grant said and Bobby looked at him, and she felt her heart skip “I have to get ready for bed, I got a busy day ahead of me tomorrow” Bobby said as she got up from the chair “Bobby?” Grant said “I have Greg and Sam in my life, everything is going great, and nothing is going to jeopardize our future…night” Bobby said and she walked up the stairs as a tear ran down her cheek Background music ends

I probably should've put my foot down a long time ago, and I'm sorry. He agreed to only come to the house to read a story to Sophie. Not for dinner or anything else. He couldn’t even bother to do that, so I’m going to tell Mrs Malloy to stop his foster parent application” Bobby said and Greg looked at her surprised “What did he say about that?” Greg said “He doesn’t know, and anyway, he doesn’t have any choice because I’m the main guardian” Bobby said as Greg looked at her “I want you to be Sophies foster father..thats if you still want to” Bobby said as Greg looked at her “I want us to be the family that we talked about..maybe have our own children as well” Bobby said as Greg looked at her and smiled “Yeah, I would love to be Sophies foster father…just tell me when and where I sign” Greg said and smiled then he pulled Bobby close to him and they began to kiss then Bobby rested her head on Gregs chest and exhaled. She wasn’t expecting to see him last night, but having dinner with him and Scott made it feel like they were a family. As Fiona got closer to the boatshed she felt her heart jump. She saw Greg and Bobby hugging. She stopped walking and sighed. Even though Greg never made a commitment to her, she thought that Greg and Bobby were over, and she had a chance to be happy with him. Fiona turned around and began to walk back to her car disappointed by what she just saw. Bobby looked up at him and smiled “You’re in a good mood” Grant said “Greg and I sorted everything out” Bobby said “That’s great” Grant said and smiled “I know, I told him that Frank is not going to be around anymore, so we can get on with our lives” Bobby said and smiled as she picke dup the recipets from the table “What do you mean Frank isn’t going to be around anymore?” Grant said confused “I’m decided to take his name off the application as Sophies foster father” Bobby said and Grant looked at her surprised “How did he take it?” Grant said “I haven’t told him, and he doesn’t really have a say. He hasn’t been to see her for two days. He doesn’t care. That’s what he does, when he cant get his own way he walks away” Bobby said as Grant looked at her “Can you do that though..I mean take his name of the application?” Grant said “I am the main guardian, so it’s my choice” Bobby said as Grant looked at her “What about Sophie?” Grant said “What about her? I’m doing this for her own good, because I’m saving her the heartache now. Besides…she’s going to have a new Dad anyway” Bobby said “What do you mean?” Grant said “ Greg has agreed to apply to be her foster parent. It makes sense in the longrun because we already have Sam together. She opened her bag and gave him her sandwich “Thanks” Shane said and he snatched the sandwich, ripped open the back and stuffed the bread into his mouth as Emma looked at him “Got anything to drink?” Shane said with food in his mouth. Emma opened her bag and took out a can of coke. Shane opened it and drank the coke as Emma watched him. Within a few minutes he had eaten and drunk everything that Emma had given him “Sorry I ate your lunch” Shane said “That’s alright, I’m not really hungry” Emma said “So whats the schools like around here?” Shane said “Alright I suppose” Emma said as Shane looked walked over to the entrance of the cave and looked at the beach “Must be good to come to the beach everyday but” Shane said “I suppose…where is your home?” Emma said “Brisbane” Shane said “Why don’t you go home?” Emma said “Because I don’t want to” Shane said annoyed. She walked past the bedroom door to see her mum reading to her dad who was laying comfortably in the bed. Pippa walked into the kitchen and put some water into the kettle. She called the house earlier, but there was no response and she made a note to try again as she looked at her watch. As she prepared to make a cup of tea, she heard her brother Danny wheeling his chair into the kitchen “I just put the kettle on, fancy a cup?” Pippa said “I thought you were not going to ask” Danny said and smiled as Pippa took another cup from the cupboard and prepared the contents for the water that was boiling in the kettle “Its been good having you home, feels like old times” Danny said “I miss the kids, but its been good to get away from Summer Bay after all that studying” Pippa said as she poured the water into the cups “Congratulations on going back to nursing” Danny said as pippa put a cup of tea in front of him “Don’t congratulate me yet, I still have to open my results” Pippa said as she poured hot water into her cup “When do they arrive?” Danny said “They are at the house. Steve said the envelope came yesterday” Pippa said as she sat down at the table opposite Danny “You know I’m really proud of you Pip, I’m sure it cant be easy raising all those kids by yourself with Tom gone, and going back to study” Danny said and Pippa sighed Background music- Fletcher family theme “It has been hard” Pippa said as she thought about the time when financially she was so low and began taking money from the diner then she had to pawn her wedding rings. She remembered when she got the news that Frank was hurt and she couldn’t go to him. That hurt more than anything. She then smiled when she remembered what Bobby did for her “But I have a wonderful family, so it has all been worth it” Pippa said “And now Alex is back in your life” Danny said as Pippa tried to stop herself from blushing. She remembered when Danny introduced Alex to the family as his new best friend and how in love Pippa was with him before he even noticed her “It was quite the surprise when he turned up at the house looking for Bobby” Pippa said as Danny drank his tea. “I'm sure it was..but I always knew that somehow you two would find your way back together again” Danny said as he looked at Pippa “How did you know?” Pippa said curiously “Because I know that he never stopped loving you” Danny said and Pippa blushed and smiled Vicarage- Newcastle “Thank you, good day” Reverend Jones said and he put the phone down. He looked at his watch, he had another meeting to go to then he was going to the King residence. Phillipa’s father was released from the hospital, and he wanted to go and wish him well. Reverend Jones smiled to himself. It felt like old times being around the King family, and reconnecting with his childhood friend, and being reunited with a woman he loved so much. Reverend Jones looked up as he heard a knock on the door “Come in “ Reverend Jones said as the door opened “Hello Reverend Jones, just wanted to let you know that I am finished for the day” Les Morgan said “Thank you Les” Reverend Jones said and smiled as he walked towards the door. “Oh by the way, I prepared a bunch of flowers for your lady friend Miss Phillippa” Les said as he handed Reverend Jones the bunch of flowers. They were beautiful “Thank you. I think these will be perfect to cheer her up, as her father was just in the hospital” Reverend Jones said “Oh I am sorry to hear that” Les said “Well the good news is he is home, and on the mend” Reverend Jones said and smiled. “That is wonderful news” Les said as he and Reverend Jones walked outside. Les sighed. He liked to see Miss Phillippa, and Miss Roberta. He didn’t know them, but they were always so nice to him, even though at times he didn’t deseve it after the way he treated his own family “My son..Frank, I wrote him a letter ” Les said as Reverend Jones opened his eyes and turned to look at him “I didn’t know that you had been in touch with him” Reverend Jones said “I haven’t, but the counselor at the prison said I should write him a letter. I haven’t sent it because I don’t know where he is” Les said “If you knew where he was would you want to send it?” Reverend Jones said “I don’t know. I don’t want my son to see me like this. I want him to be proud of me when he sees me. I made a mess of his life, he probably hates me” Les said as he began to get emotional “I’m sure he doesn’t hate you” Reverend Jones said “He does, If I was him, I would hate me. Look at what I did to him and his mother. Look at where I am now” Les said “You have made a lot of progress with your life Les, you should be proud of yourself” Reverend Jones “I don’t know if I can be, knowing that my son hates me” Les said as Reverend Jones looked at him “Anyway, it doesn’t matter, I don’t know where he is, and maybe that is for the best. I’ll see you next week” Les said as he walked towards the van while Reverend Jones walked away with a dilemma in his mind. Background music ends Caravan park- Summer Bay Frank yawned as he walked up the stairs. Aside from being physically tired, he was also emotionally tired. Every day at work he had to hide how he felt because Greg was around, and when he saw Beth he felt so guilty and had to pretend around her. Frank sighed as he walked into the room and got a surprise to see Carly asleep on his bed. Frank smiled. He remembered when he would go out, and come home to find Carly and Lynn in his room. Frank looked at the time, it was after 4pm. He sat on the edge on the bed and gently shook Carly. Carly opened her eyes then she rubbed her left eye “Frank…sorry I fell asleep” Carly said “Its alright, seeing you asleep on my bed reminded me of when we used to live in the city” Frank said and Carly smiled. She remembered when Frank would go out and to annoy him, her and lynn would fall asleep on his bed. Carly looked at her watch and sighed she had to go home and make dinner for Ben before she got ready to go to the diner. “Are you alright?” Frank said. Carly looked up at him and forced a smile “Yeah, just been really busy” Carly said “You don’t have to come here everyday, we can take care of ourselves” Frank said and smiled “Yeah I know, but I want to” Carly said “Did Pippa call today?” Frank said “No not yet” Carly said “Well her dad should be coming out of hospital today” Frank said “That’s good news” Carly said as she sat up in the bed next to Frank. Caravan park- Summer Bay “I put the towels in the laundry basket” Finlay said as Frank and Steve walked into the house. “Thanks” Frank said. The outside showers were blocked and flooded. It took quite a while to get the water to stop. Times like this he was grateful that Tom taught him about plumbing. Eventually he got the water to stop flooding, and there didn’t appear to be any damage. Frank looked at his watch. He didn’t realize it was so late, and this was the second day that he didn’t get to see his daughter. Frank sighed as he washed his hands. He knew it was too late to go over there. Things were already rocky with Bobby, and he didn’t want to make things worse. He had to make it up to his daughter tomorrow, because he didn't want to let her down just like his parents let him down. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Bobby sighed as she laid on her bed. She was so angry at Frank. This was the second night in a row that he couldn’t be bothered to come and read a story to Sophie. She could see how hurt Sophie was, that it made her regret fostering with him. Tomorrow morning she was going to call Mrs Malloy and have his name removed as a foster parent. That is what she was going to do, because he let Sophie down just like her dad said he would. Bobby turned onto her side. Greg didn’t turn up either, and Bobby knew It was because he was still upset with her. Things were going to be better, because she was going to tell him that he can be Sophies foster father and they can be the family they talked about. Bobby smiled to herself. Since his heart attack, he had been trying to take better care of himself. Alf sighed “Is there something wrong?” Dr Routledge said as he looked at Alf “Well, doc..I don’t know how to say this but…I’ve been having some trouble in the lower department if you understand me” Alf said embarrassed in a lowered voice. “Sorry?” Dr Routledge said confused “Little Alf hasn’t been paying attention in the classroom” Alf said “Oh right” Dr Routledge said “How long has this been going on for?” Dr Routledge said “Just a couple of weeks” Alf said “Have you been under any stress lately?” Dr Routledge said “No, not at all” Alf said “What about your relationship with you wife?” Dr Routledge said “Everything is perfect..better than its ever been” Alf said and smiled “Well lets start by doing another blood test. She had to rush back to the resort, because she had a customer coming in shortly. “Hi” Marilyn looked up to see Adam “Hi” Marilyn said and she tried to rush past him “How are you?” Adam said “Fine” Marilyn said “You going back to the resort?” Adam said “Yes, I have a customer coming soon” Marilyn said “I can walk you back with you” Adam said “No thank you” Marilyn said “I was thinking of coming in to get a haircut” Adam said as he played with the tail end of his hair “I don’t think it’s a good idea” Marilyn said as Adam looked at her “I’ve been thinking about you lately” Adam said and Marilyn looked at him. If she was honest with herself she hadn’t stopped thinking about him “I have to go” Marilyn said and she walked away. Adam sighed as he watched her walk away wondering if he made the right decision to let her go.. Stewart Residence- Summer Bay Shane picked the lock and opened the door. He quietly stepped into the house and closed the door. He looked at the necklace and $50 he got from the house next door and pushed them into his pocket. He looked around the kitchen of the house and opened the fridge. It was full of food and leftovers. Shane wondered if he had time to make a sandwich, but he decided against it. He had $50, so he could buy some food. He closed the fridge and used the elbow of his sweatshirt to wipe any prints. He looked around and walked out of the kitchen to the living room then he went around the corner to the bedrooms. He looked in all the rooms, and got a few things like a tape, some earrings and $5. He walked out of the bedroom and into the living room. He saw a desk there and assumed he would be able to find something. He opened the draws, but there was nothing there. He sighed and was just about to turn around when he noticed the photos in frames on the desks. One in particular caught the corner of his eye and he picked it up and he got a shock when he recognized one of the girls in the photo. It was the girl from the beach who gave him food the other day. Shane sighed as guilt started to creep up on him. She helped him, and here he was trying to steal from her family. Shane put the photo down and returned to the bedrooms where he got the money and earrings from. He put them back and tidied up and closed the doors. He looked over at the photo again then he rushed out of the house and closed the back door.

Thanks for reading Chapter 526 Caravan Park- Summer Bay Frank opened eyes. He noticed that the light was off, and the room was dark. He could hear Steve lightly snoring. Frank yawned. He couldn’t believe he fell asleep. He got out of bed quietly and opened the bedroom door. He closed the door behind him and looked at his watch, it was 11;30pm. He only intended to take a quick nap after dinner before going to read Sophie a bedtime story, but he was so emotionally drained that he overslept. Frank slowly walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. He put some water in the kettle and put the kettle on the stove, and sighed. He was disappointed in himself for letting his daughter down. He poured some coffee milk and sugar into his cup as he waited for the water to get hot, and for the first time thought about Roo, and how she was getting on. He smiled as he thought about how she used to laugh at him when he would tell her that he got lost in the subway. Frank lifted the kettle up before it made noise and poured some hot water into the cup. “You couldn’t sleep?” Frank looked up to see Finlay in the kitchen wearing only his t-shirt that she promised to returned while ago and he long hair loose around her shoulders. “Something like that” Frank said as he stared at the t-shirt. Finlay looked down at herself then she looked at Frank “I promise I will return your t-shirt” Finlay said with a smiled “You can keep it” Frank said as he began to walk out of the kitchen. Finlay stood in front of him. Frank looked at her as she caressed his arm then she began to kiss his neck. Frank pulled back “I told you, this is not a good idea” Frank said and Finlay moved closer and began to kiss his neck again “Why not, we are not doing anything wrong” Finlay said “Yes we are, Lance is a mate” Frank said “But I don’t want him…I want you” Finlay said as she put her arms around Frank and went to kiss him. He was supposed to have been released from the hospital, but when the consultant came around he suggested that he stay until the end of the week. Martin drank some of the tea on the tray next to his bed and put the cup down and laid back on the pillow. He had mixed feelings as he remembered the conversation he had with Jesse about wanting to leave. He wasn’t sure if he meant it, he was just still trying to process, and figure out why he was attacked. The sound of footsteps brought him back to reality when he looked to his left to see Nurse Sarah “Hi” martin said and he sat up in the bed “Hi” Sarah said as she began to tidy Martins bed “How are you?” Martin said “Ok” Sarah said avoiding eye contact with Martin “Sorry” Martin said and Sarah looked at him “Excuse me?” Sarah said “I’m apologizing because I’ve obviously done something to upset you” Martin said “You haven’t done anything” Sarah said “So why do I get the feeling that you have been avoiding…and don’t give me that excuses about being put on another ward” Martin said “Its not excuse, we do get moved around” Sarah said “look, maybe you wont admit it, but I have obviously done something. I want to make it up to you. I get out of here on Friday. Let me take you out on Saturday..anywhere you want” Martin said as Sarah looked at him. She didn’t know why she bothered to make any for Haydn because he always put them in the bin. I’m working late tonight, so don’t wait up for me” Michael said as he came in to the kitchen “Ok” Celia said trying not to sound disappointed “Here is your lunch” Celia said and handed Michael a lunch box “Thanks see you later” Michael said and he walked away then he turned around and kissed Celia on the cheek and she forced a smile “Hurry up Haydn if you want a lift to school” Michael said as he walked out of the house. Shortly after Haydn came out of his room and into the kitchen. “Her is your lunch” Celia said and she held it out to Haydn. She didn’t know why she did the because she knew what he was going to do. Haydn took the lunchbox from Celia “Thank you” Haydn said as he looked at Celia who looked at him shocked. She thought it was some kid of game and that he was going to through it in the bin anyway but he didn’t. She watched as he rushed out of the house and into his dads truck. Celia watched as Haydn put the lunch box in his school bag then she shut the door and looked up to the celing. Maybe God was finanly answering her prayers about Haydn. As she explained that Frank never came to read a story to Sophie “Maybe something came up?” Grant said as they both looked at Sophie who was not really eating her breakfast. She was a bit sad because she didn’t see her dad yesterday “Nothing came up. Its just Frank being Frank. Dad was right, he said that Frank would eventually get tired of playing Dad” Bobby said annoyed “Come on, you are just jumping to conclusions” Grant said “Don’t defend him” Bobby said annoyed “I’m not defending him Bobby, what is this really about?” Grant said “Its about Frank running away from his responsibilities as usual” Bobby said and walked out of the kitchen “Sweetheart, you not hungry?” Bobby said to Sophie who shook her head no “Alright then, Ill put a banana and some grapes in your bag in case you get hungry at break time. She knew her daughter well enough to know that she was missing her dad. “Sam go up and get your bag, and jacket as well” Bobby said as Sam wiped his mouth with the back of his hand “Ok” Sam said and got up and ran upstairs as Bobby picked up the bowls and took them to the kitchen as Grant drank his coffee. “Maybe this was a wrong idea to foster Sophie with him. I should’ve known he was going to let her down” Bobby said “Bobby you did ask Frank to stay away, so you and Greg can work things out” Grant said “Yes, but I didn’t say he shouldn’t see Sophie at all. We agreed that he would come and read Sophie a story. He couldn't even be bothered to do that” Bobby said as she washed the bowls as Grant looked at her. He knew well enough to know that she mustve had another reason for lashing out at Frank “Anyway I better get going…do you want me to take the kids to school?" Grant said “Thanks, but I better take them..and Ill get the pleasure of seeing that smug look on Franks girlfriends face” Bobby said annoyed “Do you know she had the nerve to ask me what she should get him for his birthday” Bobby said in disbelief to Grant “Did you tell her?” Grant said “I just told her that he likes Bruce Springsteen, I don’t care what she gets him” Bobby said as Grant looked at her “Anyway aren’t you late for work?” Bobby said and Grant looked at the time “I better get a move on, I don’t want the boss to fire me…see you later” Grant said then he put his cup in the sink and walked out of the back door. Bobby sighed and leaned on the sink as she thought about how smug Beth looked yesterday as she heard the kids coming down the stairs. None of that mattered..she didn’t care about Frank and Beth because she had Greg and Sam in her life and she wasn’t going to do anything to jeopardize their future.. Background music ends

Alice Springs correctional centre - Alice Springs NT “Move it Simpson” The prison guard said as Al slowly walked to his prison cell. He was tired and his body hurt. After the court, he was bundled onto a coach with other prisoners for the long drive to the prison. The guard in front of Al stopped in front of a prison cell and opened the cell door. Al slowly stepped into the cell and lifted his arms up for the guard to remove the handcuffs. Shortly after the guard was closing the cell door and soon after there was silence. Al looked around the cell then he slowly moved over to the bed and sat down. The minute his body toched the bed all the memories of the last 22 years came flooding into his mind…when he met his wife..when they adopted Bobby...when his wife died..the crimes he committed, and now he was here..spending the rest of his life alone Flashback Bobby- Why do you have me so much? I’ll be back later” Michael said and he walked off leaving Greg and Frank alone. “Look about last night, there is nothing going on between me and Bobby” Frank said “You think I’m stupid? He didn’t know where things stood with Bobby, but what he did know is that he was happy to get away from Summer Bay tonight and spend some time with Fiona… Barnett Residence- Summer Bay Shane looked at the half eaten cold burger in the paper bag as his stomach grumbled. He was starving and had no more money left. This meant that he was going to have to see if he can get some from the caravan park. He couldn’t wait that long, he had to get something now. He looked at his watch. He knew that his brother would be fast asleep now, so if he was careful he would be able to get into the house and get something. Shane opened the shed door and crept out. He slowly walked to the back door and turned the handle. The door was open. He quickly put his hand in his pocket and took out a napkin, and wiped the handle then he slowly walked into the house trying not to make any noise. He quietly went into the kitchen and slowly opened the fridge and sighed it was empty which meant that Nick had not been shopping..that none of them had been shopping. Shane sighed as he closed the door then he jumped when he heard the phone start to ring. He began to panic. From where he stood he wouldn’t be able to make it out of the kitchen in time. He looked around the kitchen then he opened the pantry door and squeezed himself inside. He closed the door and waited for Nick to answer the phone. A few seconds later he heard the bedrrom door open and Nick came out yawning. “Hello” Nick said when he picked up the receiver “Mum, I’ve been to call you” Nick said and Shane began to panic. Why was his mum ringing? He called her yesterday and told her everything is alright “Yeah everything is fine” Nick said as Shane put his ear to the door to listen. “Mum there is a knock on the door, hold on” Nick said and he walked over to the door. Shane couldn’t hear anything. A short time after Nick closed the front door and returned to the phone “Hello mum, sorry about that , it was the post man giving me a parcel” Nick said “What did you say? Mum the phone connection is really bad..oh when is the phone company coming to fix it? Alright then,,call ne when its fixed.. alright..love you too..bye” Nick said and put the phone down and Shane sighed then he heard Nick walk into his room and closed the door. Shane waited then he slowly opened the pantry door and squeezed himself out then he slowly tiptoed out of the house and closed the door. Shane put his hood on and quickly passed the side of the house and walked fast when he got onto the road. When he was a distance from the house he slowed down and sighed. He wasn’t sure how long he could keep this up for, but it didn’t matter because there was no way he was going home… High School- Summer Bay “Oh Lucinda, I was just going to the diner for lunch can I bring you something back?” Donald said as he stood at the door of his office “No thank you” Lucinda said as she typed a letter “I know we didn’t have much time to talk last night, but I suppose you are delighted that there has been justice for Shane Wilson” Donald said “Yes, I’m glad everything worked out for the Wilsons. I sent them a card this morning” Lucinda said “That was very thoughtful of you. Are you sure I cant get you anything? Donald said “No thanks, I ll get something from the canteen” Lucinda said “Ok well, Ill see you later” Donald said “Ok bye” Lucinda said as Donald walked away. Lucinda sighed. She hated lying to her uncle, but she already had lunch plans. She was going to the animal shelter with Emma. She had grown close to Emma. She felt connected to her, and it was nice to speak to someone who also knew David… Primary School- Summer Bay “Put your jacket on sweetheart, it’s a bit cold” Bobby said as she walked out of the school building with Sam and Sophie “Bobby” Bobby turned around to see Beth behind her “Can I have a word with you?” Beth said “Sam, Sophie go and wait for me by the tree” Bobby said and Sam and Sophie rushed towards the tree “Is there something wrong?” Bobby said as she looked at Beth concerned “Oh no, nothing to do with Sam and Sophie. I wanted to talk to you about Frank” Beth said and Bobby felt her stomach drop “What about him?” Bobby said Background music- Frank and Bobby’s theme “Well, I know its his birthday on Saturday, and I was wondering if you could give me some ideas on what to get him for a present” Beth said with a smile on her face. Bobby wished the floor would open and swallow her up. She didn’t really want to have this conversation with Beth “I dunno” Bobby said “Anything would be helpful, like what’s his favourite band, or TV show?” Beth said “He likes Bruce Springsteen” Bobby said reluctantly “That’s really helpful, thanks you” Beth said with a big smile on her face “Yeah no worries” Bobby said faking a smiled as she watched Beth walk away excited. She turned around and began walking towards Sam and Sophie as she remembered that there was nothing going on with her and Frank because she wasn’t going to jeopardize her future with Sam and Greg… Caravan Park- Summer Bay “Ok thanks” Frank said and he put the phone down and sighed as he walked up the stairs. He called the department to find out if there was an update on his application for foster parent, and there wasn’t. Frank sighed as he sat on his bed. He opened the draw and took out the little bag that had his passport and other documents and took out an envelope. He opened the envelope and first took out the folded piece of paper. He opened it and smiled. He remembered the day Sam drew the photo of him. He remembered how their friendship became one of the highlights of living in New York. He folded the picture and put it back into the envelope then he took the letter that Sam wrote for him and he began to read it. “Follow your dreams” Frank said out loud when he got to the end then he sighed. He thought that was what he was doing when he left New York. Following his dream to come home to the woman he loves. He never expected to gain a daughter who he loved more than anything, but right now he felt alone because he didn’t have either of them… Harris Residence- Summer Bay “Sorry I’m late, I just stopped off to pick up a bottle of wine” Greg said as he closed the door behind him “You’re right on time. The pasta is nearly ready” Fiona said as she walked back into the kitchen “Scott not here?” Greg said looking around “No, he’s staying with my mum tonight. She takes him on the days that I have to be at the surf club” Fiona said as she poured the water from the pasta into the sink “So its just you and me tonight?” Greg said as he walked over to Fiona as she put the pot on the stove top “I hope you don’t mind” Fiona said and smiled “Not at all” Greg said as he leaned forward and they began to kiss.. She enjoyed cooking, even if she only got the chance to eat with Shaunna since Michael was working late and Haydn was in his room. “Glad you are enjoying it. Its an old family recipe” Celia said "Its great. I would ask for the recipe, but i won't be able to make it as good as you" Shaunna said “It used to be my niece Ruths favourite” Celia said “Oh is that your niece in New York?” Shaunna said “Yes, but why she continues to live there I do not understand. She was always able to get all the information she wanted about Pippa Fletcher. They both heard footsteps and Haydn walked into the kitchen “Oh Haydn there is some dinner in the oven” Celia said and Haydn ignored her. He opened his fridge and took out a can of coke as Shaunna watched him. Haydn then went into the pantry and took out a bag of crisps then he walked out of the kitchen. He wiped his hands and walked out of the kitchen. She knew that it was wrong but she put her arm around Greg and nodded then they both leaned forward and began to kiss.. Simpson Residence- Summer Bay Bobby smiled as she watched Sam eat his breakfast. She watched as Sophie came down the stairs with her school bag and put in the chair. Bobby's smile disappeared as she watched Sophie open the curtain. This is what she always did and waited for her dad to come and have breakfast. “Come on Sophie, come and have your breakfast” Bobby said and Sophie nodded and closed the curtain and walked over to the table. Bobby watched as Sophie began to eat her cereal and she assured herself that everything was going to be fine, Sophie was going to be fine and she was not going to do anything to jeopardize her future with Greg and Sam… Background music ends

Thanks for reading Chapter 523 High School- Summer Bay Adam put the mop and bucket in the closet and closed the door. The school was quiet as he walked along the corridor to the bathroom. He opened the door and washed his hands as he looked at himself in the mirror and sighed. He remembered that Shannon had reminded him to get some tomato sauce and pasta for dinner tonight. Adam turned the tap off and grabbed some tissue and wiped his hands as he walked out of the bathroom. As he walked along the corider to the exit he thought about when he first got to Summer Bay, and how he was burgled. He thought about first dating Lucinda, then Marilyn. Marilyn was beautiful. Her smile lit up her face, and he loved the way her hair smelled so good, and her skin was so soft. Adam sighed. Flashback Shannon- I saw a flat for rent in the paper yesterday, I think we should go and look at it Adam- Why, we already have somewhere to live Shannon- I know but we cant stay on the boat forever, we need to think about the future. She pushed the bottle of vodka into the corner of the couch and pushed the hair away from her face as the door knocked again “just a second” Carly said and she rushed into the bathroom and quickly used some mouth wash to rinse the taste of alcohol from her mouth. She then sprayed herself with some perfume and walked back to the living room. She opened the front door and got a shock to see Matt there “Matt..hi…I wasn’t expecting you…come in ” Carly said in shock and guilt as Matt walked into the house and closed the door. Carly turned around and looked at Matt who stared at her. She felt so embarrassed and she also had a bit of a hangover. “So how did everything go at the court” Carly said as she leaned on the table so she wouldn’t fall over “Al Simpson got a life sentence” Matt said “That’s good news” Carly said and smiled “Well you would’ve known if you were there like you promised” Matt said “I’m really sorry Matt. Something came up and” Carly was interrupted “Same old Carly…you know I thought you would’ve changed by now, but no..youre the same as always. Making promises you cant keep, letting everyone around you down” Matt said “I’m sorry. I really wanted to come to the court but something came up” Carly said “What came up? What was more important than being there for a friend? A friend who was always there for you” Matt said as Carly tried to rack her brains to come up with an excuse. Matt stared at her “You see, you cant even come up with a lie, can you?” Matt said as Carly looked at him “Matt, I’m really sorry” Carly said as Matt looked at her as tears formed in her eyes “I don’t need your apologies, your tears, or your lies. You are the one person who I wanted to be with me today. You knew how important this was for me. You knew how much my brothers death…not knowing what happened…It had a huge impact on my life. You knew all that. Ive never asked you for anything. I just asked you to be there for me…just like I was there for you. However it wasn’t important..I wasn’t important was I Carly? All that stuff you said on the beach yesterday was just lies wasn’t it Carly?” Matt said as he shook his head. Carly wiped the tear that ran down her cheek. She knew what she did was wrong. She had every intention of going, but she knew that Ben wouldn’t like it, and that somehow he would find out that she went. It was something she couldn’t risk. “Well whatever it was that you had to do today, I hope it was worth it, because as far as I am concerned…anything I felt for you..anything I feel for you…ended when you didn’t come to the court” Matt said as Carly looked at him as another tear ran down her cheek. They think that’s what made me weak and pass out” Emma said “Alright then…well thank goodness its nothing serious” Ailsa said “Yeah I know” Emma said Ill let Donald know that I’m going to keep you off school for the next few days” Ailsa said “Thanks” Emma said “Lucinda called earlier to check on you” Ailsa said “Ok, Ill call her later” Emma said “Ill leave some dinner for you in the oven in case you get hungry later” Ailsa said “Thanks” Emma said as Ailsa smiled and got up from the bed “Aunt Ailsa” Emma said and Ailsa turned and looked at her “Thanks..you know for everything” Emma said and Ailsa smiled then she walked out of the room and closed the door. Thanks for reading Chapter 522 General hospital- Summer Bay Emma opened her eyes in a daze as she heard a door close. She looked around the room and realized she was in the school nurse’s room. She sighed. The last she remembered she was playing rounders and she just hit the ball. She didn’t remember anything else after that “Are you alright?” Emma looked to her left to see Lucinda sitting next to her “What happened? Emma said “Well you were in PE and you fainted and we called an ambulance “I’m fine” Emma said as she tried to get up then felt dizzy and laid back on the bed “Don’t try to get up. I called Aunt Ailsa, she’s on her way” Lucinda said “You didn’t need to call her. Call her back and tell her she doesn’t need to come. I didn’t have much for lunch that’s probably why I fainted, I’m fine” Emma said as she looked at Lucinda. She was right, she didn’t have much lunch because she went to the beach to see if she could see Shane and maybe give him her lunch again. That was probably why she fainted Knock on the door “Its probably the doctor” Lucinda said and smiled and she got up and went to open the door as Emma sighed “Hi Emma, I’m Dr Robinson” The female doctor said as she came into the room “Ill just wait outside” Lucinda said “Please call my aunt and tell her not to other coming…you can take me home..if its alright” Emma said and Lucinda smiled “Alright” Lucinda said and she walked out of the hospital room and closed the door. She wrapped the scarf around her, put the leather bracelet on and put her wrist up to her face as a tear ran down her cheek and she thought about how her future was going to change… Background music ends Courthouse- Waldorf Creek Al Simpson smiled to himself as the guards put on his handcuffs. He was proud of his decision to confess to what happened. He amazed himself about how he was able to think so quickly on his feet. Initially he was going to lie, but then he realized quickly that if he confessed to an accident, he would get a lesser sentence…and considering the case happened years ago, he probably wouldn’t serve any time at all. This meant he was able to get back to his plan, get what he was owed from Bobby, get Sophie, and get out of Summer Bay for good Matt and Shannon sat in their seats in the courtroom. They were just informed that the jury had reached a decision. Al Simpson came in shortly “I hope this is over shortly” Donald said in a whisper to Alf. They had been there the whole day. They were called upon to testify about what happened that day “ALL RISE” the court clerk said to instruct everyone to stand while the judge came in “BE SEATED” the court clerk said as everyone sat down. A paper was handed to the judge. He read it then folded it and put it in front of him. Alf looked over at Al who smiled at him “He’s so smug” Alf said in a whisper to Donald who looked over at Al who also smiled at him “Members of the jury, have you reached a unanimous decision” The judge said and one of the jury members stood up “Yes we have your honour” one of the jury members said as Al looked at the male juror “in the case of the murder of Shane Wilson, how do you find the defendant Albert Simpson? The judge said as Matt stared at Al Simpson “We the jury find him guilty” the male juror said and Shannon turned to Matt and sighed and gave him a hug “Thank you” the judge said and the male juror sat down. “Please stand” the court clerk said to Al who stood up and looked at the judge. Al wanted to start laughing because he knew what the judge was going to say. This was too easy he thought to himself and he smiled “Due to the lack of regard you had for a human life, and your inability to prove that you are truly remorseful for what you did, I sentence you to life in prison” the judge said and Al felt like he was hearing things. Suddenly he felt the blood drain from his body and his smile disappeared. “The judge was sentencing him to life in prison…that wasn’t the plan…he wasn’t suppose to serve any time considering he confessed to the whole thing being an accident “Lets go Simpson” The prison guard said as he stood in front of Alf. Al took one step then he turned to look at Matt then he looked at Alf then at Donald. He always hated Donald. He thought he was smug and up himself “Finally this nightmare is over” Alf said as the images of what happened flashed in his mind. That shot he fired didn’t his Shane, It was Als shot that his Shane. Something he tried for a long time to figure out “Thank goodness” Donald said and he got up from his seat “Hey Don…tell my daughter Bobby that I love her, and she should come and visit me” Al said and he smiled at Donald. He knew that saying that would wind him up and the look that Donald gave him let him know he had succeeded “Come on just forget him, he’s just trying to wind you up” Alf said “He always had to have the last laugh” Donald said annoyed as they walked out of the courtroom “You don’t look happy” Shannon said after her and Matt shook hands with the barrister “I am” Matt said “I honestly thought he wouldn’t get a sentence since it happened so long ago, but he got life” Shannon said excited “Yeah” Matt said “You sure everything is alright?” Shannon said “Yeah” Matt said “Let’s go and get some ice cream from Mr Rogers van like we used to before you go back to the city” Shannon said “Alright” Matt said. Has it ever been confirmed by anybody (Pippa, Roo, Sally) that Frank went back to live in the US? For some reason I just don’t see that happening considering he told Bobby he didn’t like it there.

I give up trying to watch it. It’s too “modern” now. It’s like the show evolved and left me behind lol. Everyone’s houses look so different, and the story lines are not as good as the earlier days. I need to see some more old faces!

Carly was probably running late Alf watched as Jeff Samuels swore on the bible then he sat down “What’s he doing here?” Alf whispered to Donald “I don’t know” Donald said “Please state your name for the court” the barrister said “Jefferey Samuels” Jeff said “Mr Samuels, how are you related to Gary Samuels” the barrister said “He’s my brother” Jeff said “Can you remember what happened on 16th April 1985?” the barrister said “Yes, that is the day Shane Wilson died” Jeff said “Did you know Shane?” the barrister said “Yeah, he was my brothers’ best mate” Jeff said “So you knew him quite well?” the barrister said “Well I wouldn’t say I knew him well, he was younger than me” Jeff said “But you knew him well enough” the barrister said “Yeah I suppose” the barrister said “Were you and your brother close?” the barrister said “Yeah we were” Jeff said and he sighed. When Gary was younger he remembered Gary always wanting to be around him and his mates “Did your brother ever tell you about what happened on 16th April 1985?” the barrister said and Jeff looked over at Al Simpson who was looking at him “Yes he did” Jeff said and Matt sighed and shook his head. They usually met him up at Stewarts point to give Al the money. However on that day, Al didn’t want to pay them the money and an argument ensured. He started to push them around and when he took out his gun to threaten them Gary ran away and Al shot in his direction but he missed and Gary hid in the bush. From where he was he could see Al and Shane still arguing and they began to struggle and Al shot him and pushed him off the top of Stewarts point Matt closed his eyes and put his head down. Hearing how his brother died over money for a few packs of cigarette broke his heart “So after your brother confessed all this why didn’t you go to the police?” the barrister said “Al Simpson had a bad reputation and he hung around with some questionable characters. I didn’t want to get my family involved, and I know now I was wrong” Jeff said as he locked eyes with Matt. Background music- Carly’s theme Matt’s mind drifted as he remembered that day. Courthouse- Waldorf Creek Matt looked at his watch, it had been one hour since the jury went to deliberate. He looked up to see Alf Stewart sitting next to Donald fisher. Alf looked up and their eyes locked then Alf looked away “Matt” Matt turned around to see Shannon walking over to him “Sorry I couldn’t get here earlier, the diner was really busy, and I couldn’t leave” Shannon said as she sat next to Matt “Lucky you, you missed Al Simpson saying it was all an accident and he didn’t mean to kill Shane ” Matt said and Shannon sighed and gently rubbed her cousins arm “I cant believe he said that” Shannon said “Well believe it, that is what he said” Matt said as Shannon sighed “So what are we waiting for now?” Shannon said “The jury has gone in to deliberate. The barrister said it could take ages, but Al confessing to an accident means he will get a lighter sentence” Matt said “This is so unfair” Shannon said as Matt looked at the ceiling. The sentencing news didn’t hurt as much as Carly not being here for him.. Stewart Shop- Summer Bay Fiona looked up and smiled when she heard the bell above the door ring, and Greg walked into the shop. She still had butterflies in her stomach after they kissed yesterday “Hi” Fiona said as Greg walked towards the counter “G’day” Greg said and smiled “Just a couple of cans of WD40 and engine oil” Greg said as he went around the counter, and a few moments later he came back holding the items he needed. As he took the money out of his pocket Fiona stared at him wondering if she should say something. Soon Greg looked up and gave her the money and she gave him some change and a receipt “Listen..about last night..I don’t want to lead you on” Greg was interrupted “Its alright” Fiona said smiling to hide her disappointment “I was just all over the place, and I took advantage of your friendship” Greg said “I was a willing participant” Fiona said trying to sound upbeat even though her heart was breaking “Yeah but it was still my fault. I came over to your place” Greg said “No its fine..honestly” Fiona said as Greg looked at her “I assume you worked things out with Bobby” Fiona said “She came over to the boatshed this morning, but nothing is sorted yet.
