  1. Knew I'd seen a good example of it somewhere, took an age to find again. You can see the inside of the canopy properly from this angle: That's a repost from a H&A fan account on Instagram, unfortunately I don't know which cast/crew member posted it originally as they didn't credit.
  2. Another Early Years location now added to the site, the Blaxland Mansion that Morag moved into in 1989. Thanks to QA once again for taking the pic.
  3. Yup, though back then the very front of the canopy above the steps did have a 'floor' so to speak, so it wasn't quite as obvious. When you look at it long enough though, you do realise that the 'windows' at the front are pretty much at floor level compared to the rest of the upper storey
  4. That's right, it's very difficult to notice on-screen due to camera angles, but if you stand underneath it then you'd just be looking up into a void. You can just make it out in some of the stock shots:
  5. It was back in 2015, in 6302, but here's a couple of shots of the landing and what used to be the girls room. The master bedroom has been seen quite frequently in recent times too but I don't have any wide-angle pics of it handy - it's in tomorrow's (Thurs) UK ep a fair bit. They wouldn't be able to do one on the exterior as it's actually just a hollow canopy. No there's not really anything to see up there now other than vegetation (see it in the background below) - nothing said on screen about it.
  6. As confusing as it's become, yes that certainly was the wrong side That was quick off the mark, was in the middle of typing it out Yup, another location added which has been seen recently in the Early Years eps - Saul's Cult Farm And you're right about the shack, it's still there in fact.
  7. Marilyn also mentioned the block of flats when she admitted to crashing Don's car into the fence outside. You're right, I've got a couple of eps missing from around those weeks so I don't know if it's the ep of its actual debut, but there's definitely a scene where he reminds Rebecca to remove her shoes as it's a new carpet.
  8. I guess they felt there wasn't really a need at the time, given Don was living on his own in a block of flats anyway, and perhaps studio storage was limited after introducing Travis' house as a permanent set. From memory, I'm pretty sure Don didn't move into his new house until just after the earthquake - which of course had freed up some space on the canvas by getting rid of the Parrish house and Stewart Store (not that the latter had been used much anyway). And at that point they also knew they'd have Rebecca, Casey and Marilyn eventually joining him so it was more of a worthwhile investment.
  9. RR1's updates for current character profiles are now all uploaded - with a huge addition to Alf Stewart's profile, which fills in his first 20 years or so with far more detail than we had before, and a brand new profile for Raffy Morrison.
  10. http://www.backtothebay.net/reference/exits.shtml
  11. You're talking to someone who's spent the last few years comparing and contrasting Vanessa's Pippa to Debra's Pippa With Steven/Bobby it all comes down to the question again - if they simply mean an original character with one continuous stint from the beginning, which is how I interpreted it, then yes it would be Steven in 1991, Bobby in 1993 and Pippa in 1998.
  12. The one that played as the life support was switched off was definitely "Bobby's Theme".
  13. RR1 has been busy with the biannual character profile updates again, which take all current characters up to the end of the 2016 season, and these have now started to be uploaded. To start with there's a newly completed profile for Chris Harrington, and some updates to Josh, Andy, Heath & Bianca's profiles, and today we start on the current regulars. http://www.backtothebay.net/characters/ I've also today updated the Births, Marriages and Deaths pages with some of the latest developments which have now aired in the UK. Since the last post in here there's also been some further location updates.
  14. That saves waiting a couple of years Not sure on the other ones mentioned at the moment (Volleyball and Kelly & Travis)
  15. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's pretty much unchanged, same certainly can't be said of the other side of the road (Max Richards' house once stood there but is long gone) Funnily enough, one of the neighbouring houses will be making an appearance on-screen in the coming months... Adam's Wharf / Harling Apartment Thanks to QA for the pics as ever.
  16. Not that I'm aware of, may depend on your region of course, but I certainly haven't seen any mention/complaints of a missed ep. It's showing up as normal on Plus7 though if you need to catch up.
  17. Ah, you mean the Northern Territory. It was centered around the Alice Springs area - the scenic flight/picnic scenes were at Ormiston Gorge around 140km west of there, and the building Bianca was being held in was actually part of an old film set built on the Ooraminna Homestead, around 40km south. I think their cabin was also at the latter, but I haven't really looked into it too much as we don't have anyone nearby to take pics for the site anyway
  18. How's this for service? http://www.backtothebay.net/locations/jennifers-house/ It's on our photography list, near to a high-priority location, so fingers crossed. It's not really in the usual area used for filming, so that might be perhaps why. Got that one also ready to go up on the site - wharves to tend to be quite tricky given the amount they've used and the fact they're not as easily accessible to view on Streetview
  19. Scenes of Heath and Bianca's what?
  20. Yes. Her boyfriend was Tim O'Connell (played by Nick Hardcastle) and the other guy was Scott Irwin (Heath Ledger)
  21. They didn't use any shots of the Palmy one surprisingly (I guess it was a weekend though so maybe no-one got any footage). But then using footage from around the lighthouse would have made the Summer Bay geography even more confusing on this occasion The ones we did see on-screen were in the national park the other side of Pittwater, most likely from one of the controlled burns the bush fire brigade did there last year.
  22. That's right, it's the one that leads up to the 'Pier Diner' etc. and then loops back around to the Surf Club, so has been used in countless scenes.
  23. Good to hear it! Yes there were a couple of scenes 'near' the store that week, they were filmed here in Ryde, but the store exterior wasn't seen and doesn't appear to be in the immediate vicinity (even before the developments across the road). Same with the other scenes for that incarnation of store - one near another row of shops in Clareville, another in a random car park, and one was just filmed on the road near the Surf Club, where we saw a sign pointing to the store which was off-screen. I don't know if it was consistently the same location throughout the year offhand, but some of the TAFE scenes (with Gypsy & Patrick in particular) were filmed at the same location as the school (the next one awaiting upload). They did use a different place for the Uni in 2003 which is on our 'to photograph' list. As for the kids park, I don't really remember a specific one without finding it in eps, but it could be the small one at Palmy at the southern end of the parkland? Or there's a larger one in Collaroy directly opposite the Fraser apartment...though I don't know if it was there in the 90s.
  24. They were old schoolfriends, Martha knew that Doris always wanted children but she couldn't have any of her own.
