  1. Went back the double-checked, but no it wasn't the same.
  2. Well the first that was heard about it was indeed when it was released, so it's just a case that no-one's really brought it up in discussion if they did read it. http://www.backtothebay.net/news/2016/06/09/second-home-away-ebook-published/
  3. Think it's pretty clear that they're checking out the male surfer who passes by them. Just like Jack and Damo did with the familiar girl passing by them in the 1994 titles.
  4. Not at the moment as it's quite insignificant. Once there's some more updates to be added... ...it'll be updated in one go.
  5. We appear to have made it to our teenage years... BTTB turns 13 years old today!
  6. Was good to see you back Clare, I do remember you from the 'olden days' of course
  7. The main one from those two years would have been Flynn's sister Ashley I guess (now there's a profile I need to find a better pic for....). Only other drugs related stuff I can think of offhand would be Sam and his weed in 2000, but it wasn't really a big addiction storyline as such.
  8. Indeed, there were a couple more times I can think of where larger churches were used in the mid-late 90's - namely Stephanie's funeral and Don & Maz planting a tree for Oscar (the former being one even closer to the city). But at the same time the original did pop up at various other events in the same period, so I guess it was just down to availability and logisitics. Whilst obviously implied, technically there wasn't any specific mention that it was Summer Bay's church, maybe they had to go into Yabbie Creek
  9. It was destroyed on-screen in the 1995 bushfire (which has recently aired in the repeats on 7TWO) http://www.backtothebay.net/locations/fishershouse/
  10. Seen recently in the Early Years showings, the church used for Dylan's Baptism (as well as Damian's poetry reading) http://www.backtothebay.net/locations/dylans-baptism/
  11. Yep
  12. An overdose administered by herself no less. As well as her character profile on the site, there's also a bit of exclusive backstory hidden away in the depths of the site that Bevan gave us, which provides a bit more insight: http://www.backtothebay.net/features/bestvillain/
  13. Despite what was said by both the tabloids and Conrad about the producers deciding that the character had run its course, that wasn't the whole story. Whilst the internal politics are none of our business, I can say in this case that the sole blame cannot be put on the show. As was said at the time, the producers don't write out good characters/actors if they have a choice - especially when so many other actors at the time were leaving of their own choice to try and crack L.A. (that also played a small factor, though whether he did give L.A. a try or not in the end is irrelevant)
  14. It was Bevan Lee who suggested Pippa's return to the writers in 2009 - simply as a way to assure the long term fans that just because Sally wasn't around, it didn't mean that Pippa's links to Summer Bay had to be forever severed. Whilst the idea was a great one to suggest, the execution of it (obviously out of his hands by that time) did end up being a bit disappointing, not least as some of the scenes got cut anyway. Though it was never meant to be a big story-driven return with the other big stories going on, it was just supposed to be a comfort for those who still remembered the Fletcher era. It could have worked if handled a bit differently, I mean it's realistic for people to just drop in for a few days to catch up with a few old friends with no particular motive/big drama behind it (something which many writers seem to forget) - but on this occasion the spreading of her wisdom around the bay, to near strangers, came across as a bit forced (visiting Belle in rehab for instance). I guess when it comes down to it, whilst it didn't particularly do much for the character, it didn't ruin her like they have done with other returns in the past. Of course it didn't take them too long to forget Pippa after that anyway... but I certainly don't think that she should only return in connection with Sally and no-one else. She does have two husbands and a son buried in Summer Bay after all, as well as a few old friends still living there.
  15. http://www.backtothebay.net/news/2016/11/22/ha-season-finale-date/ Scroll down for what that means for UK viewers
  16. A glitch when the dates were being inputted, now fixed.
  17. I've got access to the schedules, it just fries the brain a bit as the synopses don't always match up to the Oz ones - so I sometimes have to dip into the eps/extended guides to make sure both storylines were indeed going on in the same ep. Already got your diary in mind RR1 for crosschecking the odd date as we go forward
  18. I've remembered what it was now, whilst it was shown on Christmas Day in 1989, it wasn't shown on Boxing Day - which is where we first went out of sync. It was 2 days later (Thu 28th Dec 1989) when the 1988 finale aired in the UK, but of course the season had finished mid-block in Australia on Ep 228 - so when the UK carried on into the 1989 season the following day, it put them out of whack even more
  19. Certainly was, 5pm on Christmas Day, just after The BFG. I made a start on them from the beginning earlier this year, and think I got up to early 1989 before other things started taking over. It's one of those things which I'll try and slot back into when I can, though it's obviously a pretty laborious task for those early years which requires a lot of crosschecking - especially when synopses weren't always provided and episodes went out of sync after a break for a special event or suchlike One thing I probably will try and do soon is get the season openers/finales out the way, just so they give an idea of how far the UK was behind at various times.
  20. Unless you're zoomed in on the page for some reason then I'd have thought the MacBook resolution was more than sufficient enough for the full toolbar to show. I've now switched it on for medium sized devices so see if it works now.
  21. Are you accessing it from a smartphone or tablet? What buttons appear depend on what device you're accessing the forum on - whilst all the buttons should appear on the full desktop site, as the screen gets smaller the amount of buttons decreases to save space and provide the more crucial ones.
  22. My head hurts, but yes that's a distinct possibility. It would just mean they're once again working to re-extend the gap to anywhere between 6-8 weeks rather than making any attempt to reduce it.
  23. I've been doing some sums... There's some fairly reliable production info that shows H&A could be sticking with 230 episodes this season, despite the Olympic break. If that's correct, it could mean a hell of a lot of double episodes coming up in Oz - potentially squeezing a whopping 40 eps into 4 weeks, putting the UK back several weeks more before the break even starts. If so it might explain Channel 5 not taking the August break - they could have known all along that Seven would be taking care of extending the gap for them. Will keep you posted as the Aus schedules for November become available, but I'm keeping fingers crossed that there won't be 230 eps this season....
  24. Channel 5 confirms H&A Christmas Break
  25. It would certainly appear so at the moment, with the Morgan House appearing in the very same ep I guess they used it as a direct replacement - though a casual viewer would probably think the set is either a slightly renovated Braxton or Palmer House anyway, so you have to wonder if it was worth it. I knew of the Morgan House exterior location before seeing it on-screen, and thought it could lead to quite an interesting set design...so was a bit disappointed with what we ended up with to be honest.
