  1. Just a reminder that this part of the forum does indeed run at Aus pace, so there's no need for spoiler tags to discuss things that have happened on-screen
  2. With new profiles for Skye, Hunter, Tori, Justin, Brody and Mason added over the past 2 days, that now completes the profile updates for current regulars. http://www.backtothebay.net/characters/
  3. Nic has confirmed himself that they're not related
  4. All current and recently departed characters are now up to date (up to the end of June), and the first of the new profiles have been added today (Billie) And thanks for your thanks - you're the only non-staff member to have said that in here in over 18 months
  5. She did open it, and was ready to drink it before throwing the glass in the sink and cutting herself.
  6. Our profiles for current characters are in the process of being updated to include the first half of the 2016 season, starting with the completion of profiles for those who have departed the show in that time. Once the existing profiles are updated, we'll also be adding new profiles for those characters who became part of the main cast in that time. A big thanks to RR1 as ever who's had the responsibility of writing the profiles of current cast for a good few years now. There's also been a couple more of RR1's guest character profiles uploaded in the past couple of weeks for Stu Henderson & Dennis Harling, alongside one for Isla Schultz written by Matt. And in other news there's been some additions to our extended 1989 Episode Summaries, with BTTB's co-founder Jeremai having rejoined the team recently to help fill in a few gaps between summaries written by both RR1 and Ryan (which had been awaiting upload for quite some time).
  7. Apologies for the downtime we've experienced today, our hosts are having to deal with an ongoing DDoS attack which took down some of their servers. They're currently managing to mitigate the attack so things are stable for the moment, though there's no telling how long it will go on so do expect some possible performance issues. Obviously we know there's glitches every now and again, but if there's a major ongoing outage like today then we'll usually update our Twitter page to let you know.
  8. Whoever wrote that one obviously used the original backstory provided in publicity material when Finlay first arrived in the bay, without amending for what we later learned onscreen. Finlay was indeed supposed to be one of seven children at one point, but by the time her siblings were actually mentioned in the show it had been reduced.
  9. It was written by Donald's son Alan. I can't remember what specific plot details we learned offhand, but it was mainly a (thinly veiled) semi-autobiographical book about a young surfer growing up in a coastal town, and the bad relationship he had with his father. Whilst Don was pained by the content of the book, he admired Alan's talent for writing and he agreed to honour his wishes to have it published after his death. It came up again in 1999, the book was one on the school syllabus which Vinnie campaigned to have studied at Summer Bay High (Don had obviously chosen an alternative), and a movie crew came to town later in the year to film an adaptation of it.
  10. Nice pic of Norman posted on Instagram today:
  11. Some more guest profiles uploaded yesterday with thanks to RR1, including that of Bianca & April's mother Joanna Scott. And we've also had four new locations added over the past few weeks, with the addition of the Morgan House today to coincide with their arrival on UK screens.
  12. On the day it debuted in the UK, we've added the filming location of Summer Bay's newest residence - the Morgan House. A big thanks to one of our contacts for taking the pics for us.
  13. No her maiden name has never been confirmed - though given that Irene once talked about her Great-Grandpa Roberts, the 'same surname as Mud' scenario is a distinct possibility
  14. Finlay's original backstory used by the writers did indeed state she had six brothers - though this amount was never specified on the actual show, so there wasn't any mistake in continuity when it was later changed. Michael's daughter Kate however was mentioned on the show when his ex-wife Cynthia showed up, and got a nameless mention in 1994, but her existence was seemingly forgotten about soon afterwards.
  15. You're in the right era
  16. The filming location of Alf's very first store from when the show debuted, Stewart Supplies, has now been added to the site. Thanks to QA as ever for the pics.
  17. Two minor locations uploaded today showing off Yabbie Creek's sporting venues - the location of the scandalous 2007 Bowls tournament, and the 2010 location of Yabbie Creek Racecourse.
  18. The Births, Marriages and Deaths pages have been updated now that all the recent developments have aired in the UK. There's also a couple of additions in there from years past that we've previously missed, and we've added a 'Presumed Dead' category on the Deaths page to cover all angles - it's only been started off in the past few days with a couple of entries, but there will no doubt be more additions in later updates.
  19. This has now been added to the site http://www.backtothebay.net/locations/lauras-death/
  20. It was 1999 - she had Byron in 2552, struggled with the PND for the next couple of weeks and disappeared in 2565, and returned in 2601
  21. 1527
  22. Over 100km away from the rest of 'Summer Bay' - I found it several years ago but will hopefully be adding it to the site very soon now that it's topical again.
  23. A number of filming locations have been added to the site in the last couple of weeks (discussion here): Ellis/Fraser House Garner/Saunders/Jefferies House Braxton House (2013-present) Palmer House (2013-present) Gibson House And there's also a few new guest profiles added with thanks to RR1: Kieran Munroe Maureen Evans Richard Barclay Aidan Bradley
  24. Take your pick from any of the above I guess - I don't suppose it's something that we're likely to find out In the case of the Braxton/Palmer houses I suspect it may have been a production decision - the previous locations were on a reasonably busy road (with the unit base across the other side of the nearby main road) which would have made traffic control a bit of a nuisance, so the move to the end of a quieter cul-de-sac has certainly allowed more scenes to be filmed there.
  25. To finish off the set (see previous two posts), a bumper update today, with three new locations uploaded to the site The much requested current locations for the Braxton House and the Palmer House have been added - as well as a bonus one from 1991, the Gibson House, which lies directly opposite. Also included on the Braxton House page are pictures of the footpath and bridge over Careel Creek to the rear of the house, as well as another bonus in the second Street View tab. A big thanks to QA for heading out to take the pics for these and all the other recent locations!
