Ada's now overtaken Norman Coburn

You'll have to be a bit more specific - which section is the story in? It should be working in the completed and the in-progress fictions (I haven't re-enabled it for the abandoned fics in the Vault)
-
For those who read this thread, we've just launched our revamped Locations section on the main site - more info here.

I presume you're talking about the Comments forum in the NDL? I've now switched Archiving off for that forum so the topics will become available again shortly. The idea behind the Archiving system is that it disables topics that haven't been active for a set amount of time (it's currently set at a year). These are then moved into a separate database in order to reduce load on the server, which on a forum of this size is very significant. Obviously there are a few situations where this isn't ideal (I did overlook the Comments forum when I was disabling it in certain places a few weeks back), but if someone has something of significance to add to an old topic then it can be un-archived. As for the topic links/previews, it's something I'm very much aware of and have mentioned in the staff room. Again, it's useful in some situations but a pain in others where we've got existing lists of topics which have changed. QA has just mentioned in the staff room that she's gradually working through the FanFiction index in order to fix things in there. There is a workaround to avoid it when posting which I mentioned here. Yes, the Fan Fic index has some issues. Other writers stories have appeared in the list under my username. Some story titles appear in 'quote' boxes as opposed to being links. Section breaks I put in chapters in my stories no longer appear meaning that I need to go in and edit chapters. With regards to the stories themselves even when archived in the NDL or Vault people were still able to comment on them. Well as I said, QA is currently working through the FanFic index trying to fix things which is quite a long and tedious process. The 'quotes' you mention are actually the topic previews I mentioned, which are a new feature of the board software. With the Archiving I was referring to another feature of the forum that we activated not long ago which was preventing those old topics being replied to, not our own process of 'archiving' the topics into the NDL - it's now fixed in that forum anyway.

I know there is an issue with being logged out of the forum every so often, which that may be related to - Chris is going to look into it at some point.

I've Unarchived the topics in question so they should be available again within a few minutes.

Episodes 2426-2460, 7 weeks.

With the Anzac Day episode airing in the UK today, we've got a new feature on the site covering the storyline. http://www.backtothebay.net/features/anzac-day-2015.shtml A big thanks to John for writing the review and providing some background on some of the difficulties of Vietnam veterans in Australia. I've also added in some info that I wrote for the original news story on the site, which some may not have read if they were avoiding spoilers. Tying in with that, we've also got a character profile for Tom Knight written by Matt.

Go to your profile and click "See my Activity" on the right
-
If you click on the star to the left of a topic title in the forum index, that will take you to the first unread post
-
That's a members reputation - it's just a count of how many times a member's posts have been 'Liked', it was there on the old forum.
-
It's in Account Settings now Yes the topic options do appear to have gone walkabouts, I've now set it back to 10 like the old forum for the time being There is the View New Content button with the star next to it as well as the Activity Stream, the former has quite a few settings that can be configured whereas the stream is just simpler one

There obviously is a new feature when linking to forum threads which might need a bit of tweaking for those that have them in signatures. Pasting a straight link to a forum thread will post a preview of the thread/post, like below: The way to get around this is to not paste the link directly into the post, but to use a hyperlink. Type out whatever text you want, then highlight it and click the Link icon in the toolbar (to the right of the underline button). Then paste the link into the box that pops up which will turn it into clickable text as below. Link to Forum thread Incidentally, signatures can now be changed by going to 'Account Settings' rather then your profile.

How do YOU personally divide up H&A's lifespan (1988-present)
Dan F replied to CaptainHulk's topic in The Bayside Diner
I probably wouldn't agree that 1994 is part of the common opinion of the 'Golden Era' - with the season starting recently on 7TWO, it's been discussed how it's a relatively low-key season which many people don't have much memory of. It's not seen in a negative light like 97-99 seems to be, but seems to be a year where a lot of people just simply don't have much of an opinion, until their memories are jogged with a few of the key storylines. -

97-99 does seem to get a bad rep, but I certainly don't think it was anywhere near as dull as people remember. I think a lot of it is just because it followed that 95-96 'Golden' era, which many long-term fans consider as the best years of the show (myself included). In comparison to those, any other year would seem rather mediocre. -
They're temperature gauges! Ep 4943

The 2001 season opener was the first in 16:9, then they moved to HD in August 2003
-
Not quite, Don was part of the main cast for 3456 episodes - Leah is currently at 3410 episodes. She'll overtake him when Episode 6250 airs (last week of July from a quick calculation)

In addition to the two previously mentioned, a number of other guest character profiles have been uploaded/updated over the past week - thanks to RR1 for all of those (with the exception of the Murray one which I had a crack at myself ) http://www.backtothebay.net/characters/ Just to keep you up to date on other things - whilst I know things have gone a bit quiet in the there's a lot of working going on behind-the-scenes on the next section, which is going to be a pretty considerable revamp. At the same time, Chris is also looking at the performance issues some may have experienced recently. Whilst we're doing that, I'm also working through all the existing profiles for main characters, upgrading the images and making sure all the basic character info is consistently formatted/linked correctly. Probably doesn't sound very interesting but it will make things a lot easier for those browsing.

They're both already in the Locations section on the site, the Jefferies House and the Jones House.

They moved in 2013, the week after Gina's death.
