  1. The last appearance of the apartment set came the week after Daria, and the exterior of the Ellis house, were introduced - but we didn't actually see the interior of the house for another six weeks.
  2. That's correct, he wanted people to think he was 49 but was busted when the cake came out with 52 on it. John's DOB is on his character profile https://www.backtothebay.net/characters/john-palmer/
  3. Irene tried to sell it on Shannon & Selina's behalf in 1998, but it broke down when she was showing it to a prospective buyer. Then Joel turned up, gave her a ticket for the car being unregistered and unroadworthy, and had it towed away. The one Hayley had was a VW Bug ?
  4. It's much like the Samaritans, in that whilst help with being suicidal is probably what they're most known for, they're also there to talk to for anyone who's having less critical issues. https://www.lifeline.org.au/get-help/i-m-having-a-difficult-time/ Being a "teacher" and all (ahem), I'm guessing Roo is aware of the scope of their service.
  5. For the moment at least, C5 are confirming Home and Away is safe https://www.backtothebay.net/news/2022/02/08/channel-5-confirms-commitment-to-home-and-away/
  6. That’s the writer of that particular episode.
  7. This list shows all the Story Editors/Script Producers who have worked on the show over the years, in order of their first tenure.
  8. RTE are two episodes behind Channel 5, so they're ending with the same episode on Wednesday. It's not scheduled for the rest of the week, other than repeats on Saturday. Also be warned that there's only two opportunities to see the UK 'finale' ep - either the first look on Friday on 5STAR, or the (earlier than usual) lunchtime viewing at 12:30 on Channel 5 on Monday. There'll be NO 6pm repeat of the finale ep on 5STAR on Monday evening for anyone caught out by the change in lunchtime slot. Got to hand it to them, they're really doing their best to push people away from watching the Channel 5 broadcast to 5STAR or My5.
  9. It was around Bouddi National Park, the other side of Broken Bay to the north of Palm Beach. More specifically, Putty Beach and the rocky outcrops nearby including the tesselated pavement. Whilst only 7-8km up the coast as the crow flies, to drive there would indeed be just over 100km. Episode 367 for the exterior, 382 for the interior set. Pretty sure Alf was president but can't be 100% certain, if not then he was certainly managing it.
  10. Funnily enough someone else asked this last week in the Oz thread - Karen did tell Dean she was starting a job at the leagues club when she left Summer Bay, but it turned out she was actually checking herself back into the hospital. And no, Mac doesn't know about the latest development as yet. There's a bit of behind-the-scenes trivia about 'Cynthia' at the end of our article on the main site - https://www.backtothebay.net/news/2021/02/04/home-and-away-spoilers-john-prepares-for-a-hot-date/ Despite how it ended, this little story with Ryder helping out John and Maz with the app, together with Nik & Bella's teasing and later sympathy for John, has been one of my highlights of recent times.
  11. Pic of said character ? https://www.backtothebay.net/characters/carter_grace/
  12. It was more the case that with Willow not being allowed into the public gallery, being a witness, she had to think of an excuse to stay outside for the first part of the proceedings. She then excused herself with that phone call to Reenie whilst Bella went in. To be fair, the amount of conversations he had about the murder whilst standing out on the balcony... or loud slanging matches with the doors wide open... with any number of diner customers only a few feet away.... it could have been anyone ? May have been a tad too farcical though - for us to pan down and see Angelo, sipping his latte and demolishing a blueberry muffin, whilst casually holding his dictaphone above his head.
  13. Makes sense now, never heard that one before ?
  14. The bracelet was Tori's gift to Grace, Christian was just helping her put it on. Probably just as well, as I dread to think how Jas would have reacted if it was from him... ? Yes Tori did rather strangely refer to Summer Bay as a village. Little factoid for today's UK ep - the Oz broadcast of the Witness X reveal used the Billie Eilish track 'No Time to Die' (the theme for the upcoming James Bond movie). Compared the two versions last week, and I think it's a rare occasion where the 'popular music' track actually worked much better than the scored music that UK/international viewers got... ?
  15. The one he looked at was just the two of them with Dean's car, so was presumably a memento of their 'trip away'.
  16. He also said to Nik, last week, that he didn't know there were drugs hidden in there until it was too late.
  17. Yeah he's oft-mentioned when they need some River Boy assistance, but the wedding has been his only appearance so far - the venue was his dad's property, and he also sorted out the booze. If it wasn't for that, he maybe could have been the Madge Wilkins of his generation...
  18. That's actually the same one you asked about a few months back ? If you go back a page you'll find it there (Another Light by Jude) - I'm guessing you saw it at the time as you clicked the thankyou icon on the post. ? From memory I think something got left in the oven...
  19. Another reminder that this thread runs at UK pace with no spoilers to be posted - we've had posts referencing characters who are yet to appear on UK screens.
  20. Yeah the credits definitely got things wrong again. I had to go direct to the script producer to find out Owen's proper surname so I could start using it in our cast lists/articles on BTTB a month ago (we were literally the only place to mention it, with all other sources using either Harper or Slater when including a surname). Although I don't know if it's actually been used in dialogue in the past few weeks (I'm a bit behind due to having to take time off from the site), he's still yet to be credited correctly at Oz pace.
  21. Well I had a hire car in NSW that had VIC plates on it... ? As I said, sometimes we just have to turn a blind eye - like the (rare) occasions where we see a reference to North Palm Beach surf club on-screen... or a wheelie bin with the Pittwater council logo on it.
  22. There's Currawong Beach, which is directly opposite Palm Beach on the other side of Pittwater - but the one in the show is a fictional place named Mount Currawong ? All the Blue Mountain location scenes were actually filmed three months after the rest of the scenes in these episodes, the result being that the Mt Currawong we're seeing is still meant to be in the Northern Territory as per the original plan for the shoot... evidenced by the itinerary Colby printed off, which showed Nik & Bella's route north via Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Katherine. I think with the circumstances we have to just let them have that one, the tropics were just have a cold snap ? Behind the scenes info/pics for these episodes for anyone interested - https://www.backtothebay.net/news/2020/08/20/behind-the-scenes-as-home-and-away-heads-to-the-blue-mountains/
  23. What I wondered when I first saw it was why there was suddenly a panic from Ryder about throwing his phone into the ocean... yet there was no panic in the previous ep after he'd been pushed off the pier (I don't believe for a minute that he wouldn't have had his phone on him at the time). I actually thought that would be where the drama came in, he came home soaking wet only to find his dad had died. He goes to watch the video on his phone, only to realise it had been damaged - cue tension between him and Nik/Bella over the prank. (I know some iPhones are waterproof to some degree, and Ryder's photos/vids are probably backed up, but that doesn't allow itself for drama ?) We did see Phil on-screen, and Maz explained what happened when she left him and returned to Summer Bay in 1995.
  24. @English Invader Not at Channel 5 pace they didn't ?
  25. I did find that funny. Also found it strangely satisfying that they acknowledged it was the first time Dean had set foot in that house (presuming it actually was and there wasn't a previous occasion that's been forgotten) - with John's first reaction being to warn Dean not to touch anything ?
