Star Stories' actress joins 'EastEnders Leading Star Stories lady Daisy Beaumont has joined the cast of EastEnders, Digital Spy can reveal. Beaumont – who has portrayed famous names such as Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie and Britney Spears in the Channel 4 celebrity spoof show – will play Selina Branning, estranged wife of Walford's new hunk, Jack (Scott Maslen). The romance between Jack and club co-owner Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Janus) has only just begun when Ronnie begins delving into her lover's past. Her need to know more about Jack leads her straight to Selina's flat. An EastEnders source told DS: "Ronnie can't understand the stalemate between Jack and Selina so she tries to find out herself. More importantly, she wants to know why she won't let him see his daughter, Penny." They added: "Something's amiss but Ronnie can't put her finger on it and she needs to find out before she gets in too deep herself. But how will she react when she finally learns the truth?" Selina will first appear in the BBC soap on Monday, January 21. The actress has previously appeared in Casualty, Holby City and The Bill. From DS

For those who don't know Eastenders is on tonight at eight. I have only just found out for myself so in case others were unaware like I was just thought I would let you know.

Hairspray - The songs were really good.

Tonights episode was again brilliant ..... as much as I hated the fact that Kevin got killed off .... I think that it was acted well. A very emotional episode. Oh ... and what a pathetic fight between Roxy and Dawn .... I could of swore that Jase had his eyes on Dawn tonight .... maybe they will end up together after all.

Congratulations to Eastenders for producing an excellent Christmas episode. And well done to the actress that plays Lauren she has done an outstanding job in the episodes screened these past couple of weeks. I really liked the scenes between Lauren and Sean ... I think it worked perfectly. I believe it was over 14m people that watched Eastenders last night ... so they are top of the Christmas day ratings. I just hope that EE continues bringing good episodes to our screen and I pray and hope they do not go downhill again.

I like Sean's sarcasm. I found the bit funny the other day when he was in the vic then Stacey and his mum walked in and he was acting so happy to see her.

Prepare for the return of an old face, as Gemma Bissix returns to Walford in the New Year to reprise her role as Clare Bates . Clare moved to the Square in 1993, with her mum Debbie Tyler . After Debbie's tragic death, she was adopted by her hapless stepdad Nigel Bates . They left Walford for Scotland in 1998. Drama always followed Clare when she was in Walford, and her return promises no change. Clare comes back to stay with Dot , who is thrilled to see her. But why does Clare behave so strangely when she's asked about Nigel? You'll have to tune in to find out... Gemma recently won Villain of the Year at the British Soap Awards for her performance as conniving Clare Cunningham in Hollyoaks.

I hope Jane, Tanya (on her return) and everyone else apologies to Dawn for behaving the way they did. Once thye realise what May has been up to it's the least they should do.

Yesterdays episode had to be the most stupidest but yet funniest episode I have ever seen in my life. The two guys on the tube were so funny, I like them lol. I'm not being funny ... but if what happened to Dawn had happened to somebody I knew I would be doing much more than poring gravy on the bloke and letting the dog lick it off. I mean how pathetic and un-real was that.

I don't particularly like it that much. It's too much in your face. The avatar box looks dodgy ... just my opinion though.

Samantha Janus has landed a role as one of the Mitchell sisters in EastEnders. The Game On actress will join Rita Simons to form sexy double act Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell, the cousins of Phil and Grant. Diederick Santer, the soap's executive Producer, told the Daily Mirror: "I hope viewers will delight in the sexy, dramatic excitement that they bring to the show. "They may be glamorous young women, but these girls are also Mitchells, and have all the strength of character and the unique moral code that this legendary name implies." Simons, the niece of Sir Alan Sugar, has appeared in Mile High, Dream Team and London's Burning. As well as her role in Game On, Janus has starred in Pie In The Sky, Babes In The Wood and the West End revival of Guys and Dolls. She said of her character Ronnie: "She's the more sensible and clever of the two, but she has a caustic tongue. She won't trust anyone enough to let them get close to her, although all she really wants is to trust again. They are very, very loyal. "It's an amazing opportunity for me. I can't wait to start causing lots of mischief." The pair are due to begin filming at the end of the month and are expected to arrive on the Square for Stella (Sophie Thompson) and Phil's (Steve McFadden) wedding in July.
