  1. Can I just remind everyone not to discuss what's going to happen with Tony and Rachel in this section, that's what the spoiler section is for. Also, please try not to post short posts such as "I agree" or "that's right" as they bring nothing to the discussion and will be deleted. Also, if you would like to discuss Gina or Sonia Todd there is a thread for that here Thank you
  2. ^ I totally agree. That was one of the best things about the first half of the wedding episode.... the Austin/Holden interaction. As well as Gina being involved with all the girls at Leah's house. I really wish Gina would hang around for a while instead of disappearing off home all the time.... wherever home may be I would love to see Tony and Rachel taking their turn to look after Brendan... that would be really good to see. Tony seems to have a good relationship with him.... I love it when he shouted "Uncle Tony's wedding, Uncle Tony's wedding!" Yes and more pregnancy related scenes would be nice...... no one can go through such as eventless pregnancy as Rachel has had so far.
  3. Without wanting to sound like a parrot, the wedding was fantastic and I think the whole episode showed how strong their relationship is. I don't think the writers have been kind to them at times but they got this one spot on I wonder who could have been moaning about that! Thanks for the pics Dan
  4. I really like Tony and Rachel as they are at the moment. Relaxed, unstressed and happy Unfortunately whenever they are every like that something comes along and derails them so lets hope that doesn't happen this time.... well for a while anyway. I think the stress they have been through in the last few months will make them stronger. There were some really dodgy moments there and their communication at times wasn't the best, mainly because Tony was immersed in so much grief. Rachel just wanted him to talk to her but she maybe tried too hard to get through on occasions. Having said that it must have been difficult for her to go through the first few months of pregnancy virtually on her own when he didn't seem to care. However, I'm sure he did care as his face lit up when he felt the baby kick. Anyway, they are all happy again so it's all good! On that note..... no one has mentioned this yet so I am assuming no one else spotted it.... Did anyone see where Rachel's hand wandered to in the gym scene in Wednesdays episode?! Just before Roman's dig about Tony being old. I am too observant for my own good sometimes where HotDad is concerned!
  5. Well it's been a while since I have been in here so I thought I'd better show my face.... I have been neglecting my HotDad! Slap my hand! I am very happy that Tony is back to his old self but I'm glad they wrote him as they did since Jack's death as it has given Jon a chance to act his little socks off! And that he did! Tony reacted in a simlar way to Beth's death so everything was in character but Jack's death hit Tony much harder. He couldn't even communicate with anyone, including Rachel a few weeks ago, but it is nice that he is happy to reminisce about Jack now, like he did last week at Leah's lunch. A few years ago I was worried that Jon wouldn't still be in the show now as they were going nowhere fast with his character so I have been pleasantly surprised that they have given him some great stuff to work with these last couple of years. Even though there was so much they could have done with Tony and Beth, it does seem as though Beth's death was the best thing to have happened to him. Anyway, I missed happy HotDad so I'm glad he's returned. He looked so relaxed at the farm this week and since the wedding's got back on track he's like a different person. If I have any complaints it is that I would like to see more interaction with Hugo, Xavier, Gina and Brendan. Any casual viewer of the show wouldn't even realise they are related! So that's my big hope for the coming months. Just one (shallow ) thing I have to mention before I go...... Thursdays episode.... scene on the beach with Irene...... shirtless HotDad!
  6. Happy Birthday Amy! Welcome to 30!
  7. I don't think he kissed her back, he was just a little stunned as it all happened so quickly.
  8. I just don't really see them pairing up with anyone else either. Rachel and Miles just doesn't work for me and there is no one else for Tony. I kinda like the thought of Leah and Tony but when I really think about it, it's a bit weird to be honest. Yes it was slightly disappointing that they didn't really talk things through properly. I did feel sorry for Rachel when Tony said the thing about his 'baby'. Actually he didn't... he stopped himself and Rachel finished his sentence for him. I think he realised that he had hurt her but had serious tunnel vision where the boat was concerned. He was way more interested in boat parts than cots unfortunately. I hope now the boat is done he can move on and concentrate on getting things ready for the baby. Rachel is clearly excited about buying things and Tony just needs to switch his focus now he seems to have completed his 'journey'. His actions at the moment may look like he doesn't care about the baby much but I think the way his eyes lit up the other week when the baby kicked really showed that is not the case. I'm sure the time will come when he is just as excited as Rachel.
  9. I am obviously pleased that all of the Belinda stuff was resolved last week and Tachel seem to be OK again but I think that the whole drama was really good for showing different aspects of their personalities. That argument was top notch and definately showed a side to Tony's character that we don't often see. He has had his angry moments in the past but when he snatched the note and threw it away he was really angry! As for Rachel... her anger seemed to stem for days of pent up stress about what Tony was up to.... she couldn't hold it in anymore and just let rip! Who said Tachel have no passion!? They did seem to make up quite easily with a few apologies but I don't think some of the issues that reared their head should be just forgotten. It would be nice if they discussed things properly. In the past I have praised their communication but on this occasion it wasn't at his finest. I don't blame Rachel for thinking he was cheating as I think if anyone was in her position they would have suspected the same thing. Tony also could have avoided the whole thing by talking to her but I guess grief does funny things to people so he can be forgiven too. I agree. On the surface they look like a pretty normal couple but there is a hell of a lot of emotional baggage there and more levels to their relationship than people give them credit for. Some of the baggage has been addressed but there is certainly plenty of potential for future storylines. It would be nice if they stayed together in the long run as I think the show needs a mature established couple. A few years ago there were loads of established couples kicking around. If I think back to the 2005 season finale... there was Sally/Flynn, Dan/Leah, Jack/Martha, Scott/Hayley, Robbie/Tasha, Lucas/Matilda, Irene/Barry and of course Tony/Beth had just begun. Tony's last relationship with Beth had potential for drama but it was never really explored properly so I am very pleased that Tachel have not gone the same way. A bit of friction is good once in a while..... 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' as they say!
  10. I don't think comparing Tachel and Adelle in this way is really very productive. Both couples have their good points and bad points and will obviously appeal to different people for different reasons. I don't think it's a worthwhile exercise arguing about who's the best. You have every right to post both positive and negative comments in here as it is a discussion thread not an appreciation thread. 11. Well I think that Rachel's 30 as recently when Leah turned 30 Rachel said "Welcome to 30" which makes me think that Rachel is slightly older than Leah even if they were in the same year at school. As for Tony, he said in episode 4259 that he was 40 which was about 2 and a half years ago so I guess he's 42 or 43 now. (It doesn't make sense with Jack's age but we'll gloss over that as the show obviously has!) So to cut a long story short that makes the age difference 12/13 years.
  12. "I'd rather listen to 'my heart will go on', on repeat than go on a date with you." 4027 Jack relented as long as she jumped off a cliff but as she prepared to jump he stopped her and kissed her 4040 After flirting at Noah's christening, they shared a kiss, reuniting 4100 Their relationship grew stronger and they celebrated Martha's birthday at a party at jack's house 4160/4161
  13. I think another kidnapping would be ridiculous so that better not happen Rachel was kidnapped by the Believers in episode 4252 so she could deliver Tasha's baby when Mumma Rose wanted to induce her. She told Mumma Rose that Tasha had some sort of medical problem and a natural birth would probably kill her and the baby. Then I think she had to go back to the hospital and get some supplies and wrote some sort of note for the nurses to see when she was pretending to write patient notes. Rachel tried to stop Mumma Rose from injecting Tasha but she couldn't. But help came in time and Tasha was rushed to hospital. As for Amy in Gabriel.... the only clip on youtube I have seen is this deleted scene.
  14. It should be 63.9MB so your download probably went haywire half way through. I would try and download the whole thing again then try playing it
  15. ^ Me too! But for very different reasons! It's about zero here I think at the moment.... Brrrrr.... chilly! It's supposed to get warmer at the weekend.... about five degrees! Better dig out those sunglasses!
  16. I would imagine it is to do with the move to the new server. There are obviously some glitches but I am sure everything will get back to normal eventually. In the meantime you could have a look in the Artwork and Creations section for an appropriate H&A avatar and ask the artist if you can use one of theirs. I'm not sure what you want but feel free to use any of the avatars in my artwork thread .... However it hasn't been updated for a while and most of them are Tony related so they might not be your cup of tea!
  17. I'm a bit late to the party but now Christmas is over I can think straight! Favourite Tachel scene(s) - involving a regular cast members: This is a tough one. I like any Tachel scenes with Jack and Martha but I can't think of many with all four of them together. There have been good Jack/Tony, Jack/Rachel and Martha/Rachel scenes but not all together. I think what other people have mentioned, the scene with Leah, Collen and Jack when they congratulated them about Peanut, was a good one. I also liked the one in the diner with Colleen when they were being '16 again'! Favourite Tachel scene(s) - involving a guest cast members: Basically any scene involving Jazz was excellent. You could feel the tension in the air... Jazz was always subtly trying to get to Rachel, Rachel was trying not to appear jealous and Tony was trying to keep them both happy while always making sure Rachel and Jazz knew where his loyalties were. I remember 2 scenes where Tony made an effort to give Rachel a peck on the cheek to kind of 'prove' it was her who he was with. I remember one scene when he called her 'beautiful' when she arrived but he looked so uncomfortable as he had just offered Jazz Lucas's old room and was obviously nervous about telling Rachel. Most memorable Tachel quote: There have been so many good quotes... some funny.... "I'm still hot aren't I?" / "However, I may need a cold shower" "Well thank you" "You're very very welcome!" / "This one ages nicely.... so you don't mind a mature drop then?" / "I sheared that sheep myself!".... And some cute and romantic "I love you more and more everyday to be honest" "I feel the same way" / "You are going to make a beautiful mother" / "We are going to be parents... we are" / "It made me realise that what we're doing, taking things slowly one step at a time... it's way more sexy... because it's way more special" / "I...I really miss you" "I miss you too" (despite Tony 'cheating' on Rachel it was nice that she admitted that she missed him too) Favourite setting that Tachel have featured in: It's kinda nice how they have homely normal scenes, in the garden, in the bedroom (OK it was probably a one off and will never be seen again), on the sofa, in the kitchen cooking a roast, etc. But my favourite has got to be the restaurant in the city as it was very different from going to the diner on a first date. It was slightly awkward as he was so nervous and she was unsure about everything but it didn't help that they couldn't drink as they both had to drive home that night. Then Tony went and put his foot in it by offering to get a room! But the thing I liked is that you could see that Rachel was beginning to fall for him towards the end of the date, particularly when he kissed her on the cheek and helped her with her jacket/shawl thing. It would also have been nice to have seen Tachel actually get to go to school reunion together but I guess the whole Jazz storyline wouldn't have worked if that had happened! As for my least favourite - the gym!... Please no more gym scenes next year! And Please do not put the Tachel house set into long term storage again! Favourite Tachel storyline: They haven't actually had a big ongoing storyline of their own as it has all been about the development of their relationship. So because of that it would have to be their struggle to have a baby, even though there could have been improvements to that storyline. Are there any changes to the script that you would have made regarding Tachel? First of all I have no issue with anything we have seen as the writing of Tachel this year has been fantastic and realistic. My main problem is what we haven't seen but I am not going to go on about it too much as I have been banging on about it for months. Basically they have just had a lot of 'bitty' storylines with no a lot to link them together. For example, the vasectomy thing came out of left field as it had never been mentioned before, then towards to end of the year we find out that Tony is not coping with the pressure of trying for a baby but we have seen very little of the troubles that he was referring to. I know we can't see everything they do but a bit more would be nice. I think it has all been said about the writing following the Olympic Cliffhanger but the fact that what their characters would really do was manipulated for the sake of the cliffhanger and Summer Bay Online farce really bugged me. And don't get me started on the 'missing' scenes! But all in all I don't want to be too negative as I am so very grateful to the writers for putting Tony and Rachel together, something I talked about in the middle of last year but something I never thought would actually happen. How would you redecorate the Tachel household? My improvements would have nothing to do with Beth as I think that gradually they have been taking away some of the Beth related stuff, such as the Mum Rocks picture. So the first thing I would do is demolish the fake big brick contraption in the middle of the house as I hate it and it looks really dated! Then I would buy them a new sofa.... It's too small and a sofa is not a sofa unless you can lie down on it and not hit the end! A corner sofa unit would be nice. Apart from that I don't mind the rest. The fake brick thing is my main issue. Any further comments? Erm.... I liked that the whole age issue was not made a big deal of. Despite them both having reservations in the beginning, it was mentioned in a humerous way then that was it. I loved the scene in the diner when Tony apologised for shutting Rachel out because of the anniversary of Beth's death. He explained the whole Mattie thing so well and Rachel totall understood and appreciated him opening up to her... then he looked into her eyes and asked her if she wanted to set a date for the wedding. They both looked so happy.... On that note..... I'll be back if I think of anymore comments but I think I've bored you all enough for now
  18. I've thrown a few pics in for added effect! Favourite casual outfit: I love his new range of T-shirts, particularly the pink Puma one. And I like the cream and maroon board shorts. I also liked the jacket he wore when Rachel 'left' and for Jack and Martha's party. Favourite formal outfit: It would have to be his wedding outfit that unfortunately we never saw in all it's glory. Favourite informal (swimwear etc) outfit: The white sheet he wore in the hotel room with Jazz! The blue sheet (in his bedroom)was a good look too! (How's that for informal?!) Favourite HotDad scene(s) without Rachel - involving a regular cast members: Any fatherly type scene with Lucas, Jack or Mattie. If I had to pick one (or three) it would be with Mattie on Beth's anniversary, when he gave Mattie the necklace from Beth and when he was comforting Jack when he was upset about Martha. Favourite HotDad scene(s) without Rachel - involving a guest cast members: One word..... Jazz! It's difficult to pick one but my favourite was their goodbye scene. Favourite HotDad quote: There are a few good ones.... "I've also gotta compete against guys like Rambo" / "It made me realise that what we're doing, taking things slowly one step at a time... it's way more sexy... because it's way more special" / "This one ages nicely.... so you don't mind a mature drop then?" Favourite setting that HotDad has featured in: Most of his scenes have been in pretty boring settings (i.e. the gym, diner, house, surf club, beach, hospital, etc.) so I am going to go for the restaurant in the city where he and Rachel had their first date and the hotel room with Jazz. Favourite HotDad storyline: Finding out he may not be able to have anymore kids and the vasectomy reversal storyline. Dealing with Jazz's advances was good too. Scruffy appearance vs Clean shaven: Clean shaven most of the time but the odd dose of stubble would be greatly appreciated..... just as long as it isn't accompanied by 'crazy hair' Work scenes vs Personal life scenes: Personal scenes.... the gym is so not exciting at all! Are there any changes to the script that you would have made regarding HotDad? - Where do I start?... Either side of the Olympic Cliffhanger there was some dodgy stuff. But that was to make the cliffhanger an actual cliffhanger..... still it could have been better. There should also have been more dialogue about Rachel's kidnapping instead of going straight into the Bridget thing. Which brings me to my next point... why did they make him sleep with the first person who fluttered their eyelashes at him?! I could nitpick and go on forever here but those are my main issues. Any further comments? - Can't wait for next year!!! It's gonna be great I can just feel it!
  19. I always thought when they mention the 'interrupted' thing they were referring to when Irene banged on the door to tell them Dan was dead. But maybe they were referring to other times too seeing as they mentioned Jazz and Mattie. No doubt more scenes that found their way to the cutting room floor. I really like their fun scenes and there haven't been enough of them in my opinion.
  20. I'm sure most people will be aware of this..... but if you're not then is an interview with Paul O'Brien on The Morning Show today. I'm not sure he's ready to be a TV chef just yet but it's not a bad effort!
  21. Fitzy has got to be my all time favourite recurring character I don't know what it is but she seems a lot more interesting than some of the permanent characters. Do you ever think there will be a time when the powers that be make a recurring character permanent? Maybe we should start a petition! However it isn't going to happen anytime soon seeing as Fitzy is pregnant and there is serious cop overload going on in the Bay at the moment! I wonder if Rebecca George is actually pregnant and they needed to write this storyline in because of that.... It was a little odd how she hasn't been in it for months then she appeared in one scene with Belle and was sitting down hiding behind the bed! Maybe they didn't have maternity police uniforms so they had to hide her!
  22. My love of HotDad is well documented so I won't bore you with that .... other than to say that I can't wait for Tony to get fully into the expectant father to be role.... I think it will bring out all his best qualities and I sincerely hope that nothing happens to the baby. Does anyone know if Jon still presents the odd episode of Sydney Weekender? Not that I am able to watch it... I am just curious that's all. I would like to see him doing more work as himself and I am dying to see a full interview with him. The OS promised a report on his trip to the Northern Territory but there has been no sign of it yet.
  23. I change my mind daily about Charlie..... she annoys me sometimes with her 'I know best' attitude and I especially didn't like the way she spoke to and treated Morag when they found out Ross had Alzheimers. Then other times she comes across as quite vulnerable and I warm to her. She does seem very bitter sometimes but that could only have come from her past. She has classic symptoms of someone with low self esteem and I am hoping we will find out things about her past as they have clearly helped shape her into who she is.
  24. I agree... their struggle to have a baby could have been a really good storyline but we have only seen tiny bits of this. It could have been so good and given Jon and Amy something to get their teeth into. I didn't mind the Joe storyline but I think they could have followed that with more 'making babies' troubles. And I think that comical scenes, in the beginning, could have been really good thing! I can just see Rachel standing on head so 'things' swim in the right direction! And Tony having to wear loosely fitting pants! Then they could have moved onto the more serious aspects of it and the despair they both felt at be unable to conceive. I am obviously happy they are pregnant I just think it was a missed opportunity. Can you eloberate a little please? I didn't really notice anything different, just that it was so nice to see Rach being happy! Pretty much what Charmed said above! I think there was noticable difference in the levels of affection on Monday which seemed to come with the happiness. We have saw some affection before but it seems to be more of a two way thing now. More often than not it is Tony showing affection to Rachel but on Monday it seemed more equal. Tony has always been there as a shoulder to cry on when Rachel was having troubles but when couples show an equal amount of affection their relationship seems more real and believable. Looking back I think one of my favourite bits of the Sam's 'Murder' storyline was the Tachel scene when Lara told them what happened to Sam. They were showing concern for each other at various times. When Rachel was upset, Tony was comforting her and when Tony was upset Rachel was rubbing his back.
  25. To me there was a shift in Tony and Rachel's relationship after the pregnancy 'discovery'. There seemed to be some communication issues last Friday when Tony was complaining about it being too 'clinical' to Jack and there was Tachel tension in the Diner. However we can only imagine this as we never got to see much of it! Then when they discovered they were pregnant it seemed to 'seal the deal'. The real closeness between them that we have all been waiting to see was suddenly there. Don't get me wrong, they have been close since the beginning but there was definately something different about them on Monday. Let's hope there will be a wedding in the forseable future. But there is bound to be some drama lurking over the horizon... lets just hope whatever it is will let them build on their relationship and bring them closer together. Like I and others have said before, the show needs a stable couple. But not too stable as that usually equals dull!
