I don't like how big they are making the caravan park look in this week's episodes as it doesn't tie in with the show's history. They are using way too many caravans, wood cabins, a few gazebos (there was originally only one white one) and if the hill Marilyn and Miles were walking down is supposed to represent the old hill coming down from the house they have got it all wrong as it was too big and the original never had vans on it. Also, the laundry block is way too big. If the rumours of them rebuilding the original Sumer Bay House are true, then I would like them to rebuild an exact replica of it, and the caravan park. The caravan park was always just a small area, and even the bit used in 2007 when Alf knocked Pippa down was more true to life than the bit they used this week.

I know Marilyn was Morag's cleaner but does anyone know what kind of relationship they had - if they liked each other etc?? Even though knowing Morag in those days I can't see her liking Marilyn!

I have to disagree that it "smacks a bit of desperation". What makes H&A stand out from all the other soaps and makes it a little bit more realistic is that the show always refers to its past and brings back past characters. Every time we have a major wedding, funeral etc you can be almost guaranteed that someone will return and it makes it all the more believeable. I am impressed at the consistency in Marilyn despite a 10 year absense and major things from her past have been touched on within her first three episodes. She is being brought back at a time where there is a very high cast turnover and it is nice to have someoen familiar mixed in with a lot of new faces. And as H&A only has 4 people in its cast that have done more than ten years I reckon Marilyn is a fantastic addition to the cast and will appeal to both older and younger viewers.

I will be really disappointed if Marilyn ends up with Miles. I hate Miles, he has the opposite of the Midas touch and ruins everything he touches. I don't want him in the show, let alone as a main character in the main house! I would love if Marilyn opened up her salon at the part of the Diner they don't use - that would be a real link to the past! I am finding her hilarious and such a breath of fresh air to the show.

I love her - she is the best thing about the show at the moment, she is such a breath of fresh air!! I am a bit confused as to her name tho - on the credits it's Fisher but she introduced herself at the hospital as Chambers.

Eastenders is my life at the moment. Lacey Turner is probably the best actress on TV at the moment. I had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago and she was lovely. I really wasnt expecting Stacey to be the killer.
-
Thank you. It really annoys me when they do that!
-
Was that a different house they used for the exterior shot of Leah's on Thursday?

I have to agree with your regarding Milco - a buried memory of her brother as ultimately a good resolution compared to just an imaginary friend and they appear to have researched the continuity as well. That scene was fantastic - it was possibly the best acting from a child I have ever seen.

No, Roo was quite a b***h in her day, especially when it came to Ailsa!

Episode 40 is 8 weeks in, I am surprised it lasted that long at the pace it's been going! The pilot was good enough as it was an introduction to the characters. Kate Ritchie is the one person that stands out in the first few weeks - the school scene where she is being picked on over Milco (which we saw again in that montage 20 years later) really stands out. Even Roo seems tame the first few times we see her!

I've been casually watching these episodes and looking back I don't know how the show was ever commissioned - it;s awful! But I suppose it was over twenty years ago when TV was a lot calmer in general.

. I am losing a lot of respect for the show. Yeah I think that is ridiculous, if they want to bring her back they should stick with Kim Medcalf. That would be like Vanessa Downing come back to the Bay as Pippa, it just wouldnt work.

Did anyone else notice how Danielle stood and stared at Janine coming for what seemed like ages? I'm sure she could have crossed the road safely five times over in the amount of time she stood staring.

Not frosty, first time in ages! Its one of our coldest winters ever.

I know The Sun tells blatant lies but there soap stories always turn out true.
-
Yeah, its a bit weird, isn't it!

According to The Sun !! What a shocker!

I felt so sorry for Heather tonight, it was so sad. I wonder who was knocking on the toilet door though?

I suppose they just use poetic license, they needed a reason for a big reunion centred around Alf and Sally so this was the perfect excuse. He has celebrated his birthday in July the past few years so that's what I am sticking with!! In H&A in Ireland tonight they mentioned Amanda was 33 yet she was only 30 when Belle arrived last year. In an interview last week (maybe on Five news, cant remember) Jodi Gordon said she wasn't sure whether Martha was 19 or 21 because it had changed!!
-
Not sure whether this is the right place for this or not but it doesn't warrant a thread of its own; on the main page it says that Alf was born in November 1946 but this is wrong, it's July 1945 as his 60th was in July 2005.

I think it depends on the story and the time of year. I saw episodes being filmed in early February and they didnt air until mid April so that's two and a half months.

Yes, I think the character she played was called Marlene Kratz.
