^ I spotted one poster tackle you on your post, and it was a poster of the more acerbic variety so I wouldn't take it to heart. Perhaps there have been others that I haven't seen yet though
-
^ Thanks for pointing that out. When I see the same poster is responsible for last two or more posts I don't bother reading them as I'm afraid I assume they are attention seeking. The edit function is there for a reason. I love Martha, but Hugo is a right pain in the backside and a bit of a waster too. At least Jack was a committed, hard working professional, but that's only one of my problems with Hugo. I do believe there is better out there for her and I have no doubt that she will find that person someday.

I REALLY love the Shirley and Heather friendship. I love that they are middle aged unlucky in love women who have each other and really don't need a man in their live's as a result. I love that Shirley wants to take on the responsibility of providing for baby George and how behind that rough exterior all she wants is to feel needed the way she wasn't by her own kids. It's really fantastic writing and superb that a relationship based purely on friendship can be shown and be so compelling.

Roo Stewart - Justine Clarke & Georgie Parker
Mistified replied to RooStewart's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
^ Yes, I agree. Roo was a great character. For someone so straight it's amazing how Alf brought up to such "evil" (although not totally evil) children in Roo and Duncan. What was interesting about Roo was that she was a vindictive, attention seeking character and those roles are only ever given over to guest roles since. To have a permanent character in that role was great, although we didn't fully understand that at the time of course. As the years have passed we have seen how characters like Roo usually just get a 6 week slot. -
I'm guessing he doesn't have much chance to watch the show...actually i've changed my mind can you tell me what he said too pretty please? Maybe once they give off a couple more clues... Lukey said to wait a bit... aww please, just one tiny hint? There should be a scene with the words: Can't say the rest without giving it away, sorry. Is this what Charlie said when she confronted Angelo about those photos of him with the strippers?
-
^ That's great Moya! Lucky you!
-
^ Yes, I took it to be just a hypothetical sister, i.e. he was saying to Charlie that if I were in your shoes I would feel the same, not that he specifically has a sister to feel that way about as such.
-
Interesting. Thanks!
-
^ Thanks for that Dan. What a fabulous property! Do you know if Channel 7 have to rent it to use it? I see the rents are sky high!
-
God Moya, I was jealous enough of you for meeting all those guys in the first place, and now you tell us this! Will you be scanning/posting the letters you get?
-
I really miss cheeky Angelo, like he was when he first arrived. The only hint of that we've seen since he returned was when he met May for the first time.
-
^ I'm really scared that when this reason is all cleared up that he will be leaving. I hope he's not just back for the mystery storyline.
-
^ Thanks Dan. They all look great. What a super resource! I love the aerial view of the footie park.

^ No worries. I do like Aden and Belle as a couple, so when I say "I'm not a fan" I suppose I mean I'm not a worshipper. I was a Jack and Martha worshipper though and to be honest I still feel like I'm in mourning for them this long after. I know the long tough road Adelle fans have ahead of them! For that I feel really sad. All the Belle dying stuff has just reignited all those sad feelings for me for Jack and Martha.
-
it's not needed anymore though is it? as Dan said ; it was turning into a discussion thread, which we have this one and the specified Belle one for but obviously The last few episodes these days have been heart-wrenching, seriously. I probably will return here to talk a little more after watching episode 4917 - . That's not my point - my point was Belle was hardly cold and there was a big X beside the Adelle thread. That X really hammered home the point that the pair of them are now extinguished. I'm not even a fan and I felt sad when I saw it. I think today would have been a good time to close it and then move out any discussions about them into the relevant thread. Today's episode won't be so Aden and Belle heavy so people won't be so over-wrought and it may not be so insensitive to close it down today. I probably sound like a lunatic but all this Belle stuff has brought me right back to how I was feeling inn January and February after Jack died so I am putting myself in Belle and Aden fans' shoes based on that.
-
Yes, it was cheap and nasty, but then so are Dawn and Phil so I guess it was realistic.
-
Ouch! The closure of the "Adelle Spoilers" thread before Belle is even cold must have been a bit hard to take! I think I might have given the mourners a day or two!

^ I'm surprised they are allowed cut it to be honest. I would imagine there is copyright on the theme tune which would prevent it from being tampered with. Maybe we should report them to the BBC.
-
I have done some research into this since and it appears that they are only omitted from the theme by RTE. BBC still play the original theme. Bizarre though. I will be making sure to only watch on BBC from now on in order to get the full effect.
-
Today's episode yet again highlighted the individual struggles of these two characters and Angelo believing the best way forward was to break up just compounded it more. What they actually need, more than anything, is each other.

I'm refering to my original question above. The drums at the end of Eastenders just as the credits start are gone. The drums were iconic. The actors used to vie for getting "the drums" as it meant they had a big scene if the script said "drums" after their last scene. They had the cliffhanger scene at the end. I heard one of the actors talking about it in an interview a couple of years ago. Anyway, the drums are gone now, but instead of rewriting the theme they have just cut them out so the theme tune sounds really disjointed.
-
But what has happened to the drums?? I am bewildered by it!
-
^ I just think it would be a beautiful thing if they gradually fell in love with each other.
-
^ I presume it was short because the wedding and marriage isn't actually their story as such, i.e. it is just a part of the whole storyline. Jack and Martha's second wedding was a bit of cheat for fans too, but again that was because their storyline at the time wasn't about them getting married, but that just formed a part of her cancer and having Roman's baby etc. In other words the wedding was purely just to add to the tragedy of their storyline, not about the wedding and marriage as a stand alone thing.

^ Are Bianca and Ricky back together? I missed months and months of the show and can never tell now when I'm watching whether they are a couple or not. I think the Syed storyline is very important. There are so many layers to it, culture, religion, family, sexuality. It's been very well thought out and is very well portrayed I think. The torture for Christian is so different to the torture for Syed, purely because of Syed's background. Neither one will ever fully understand how the other sees the situation and I think that makes it compelling to watch.
