I joined BackToTheBay in 2006 when I was 17 years old. I actually found out about this website when I was discussing it to a friend at college. But when I signed up, I was mainly lurking in this forum for several years until I decided to get involved in discussions etc. I am very proud of this website because the admins/moderators have worked very hard to update the website, give us interviews, write episode summaries, etc. I use this website for my research on Home and Away and the information have always been spot on! I remembered my university tutor wanted to do some research on Aussie soaps and I directed him to this site. My University tutor actually referenced BackToTheBay when he was using characters' profiles as part of his research. I hope this website will continue at least another 10 years. Thank you Dan F, Chris, the moderators and the fans for everything you have done in here. I am a bit disappointed that Seven have stopped BTTB interviewing cast members because their interviews in the past have been brilliant. But I know BTTB will continue to be successful for many years to come.

Can't believe Lyn Collingwood is 77 years old now. If Colleen stayed in Home and Away, she wouldn't get any storylines (she never gets storylines anyway). The producers might use Colleen less like Irene!!! Back to topic, Morag should come back at least once every year IMO

This is totally unfair that Neighbours will be one week behind Australia and Home & Away will be 5 weeks behind. Not forgetting the 5 week Summer Break in 2014!!!

Morag needs to come back to Summer Bay. Can't believe it's been nearly a year since we last saw Morag . Cameron Welsh used Morag better than Lucy Addario!!

I though they where living in India with miles? Sally and Pippa have been living in Phuket (Thailand) for 5 years (when Sally first left Summer Bay). But Sally and Pippa are in America now for Pippa's treatment only. They will be staying in the States for a long period until Pippa's treatment is over. Sally told Alf that she and Pippa are planning to return to Summer Bay after Pippa's treatment is finished. Since Kate Ritchie isn't returning, my guess is that Sally and Pippa move back to Thailand. How do we know she is not returning? Because Kate Ritchie isn't coming back. Kate Ritchie only returned to the show for 2 months. On twitter and facebook, Kate said that Sally won't be returning anytime soon, but you never know in the future, Sally could return in a few years time. From what Kate have said in interviews, she wants to do other things and be "Kate". She has always loves Home & Away and Sally though.

Tamara is one of the worst ever characters in Home and Away (my opinion, not a fact ).

Brax is back for one episode this week. But after that, no idea. I would say Brax should be back in March 2014. That's just a guess though.

Kate said she would "live and die on the show if she could". But she said the show had changed a lot over the past 5 years and Sally might not fit in the show anymore. She was praising the show. Kate said in other interviews that she may make another return. I hope she does make another return (even for a guest stint). Kate wants to do other things but she is always grateful to Home and Away I'm just grateful that Sally came back to the show for the 25th anniversary.

As Sally is one of the most popular characters ever, I am surprised there isn't a thread on Sally in here I already miss Sally a lot and it's a shame that her 2nd exit isn't a happy one. There is a possibility that Pippa may not survive her illness as clinical trials are not always successful. When I got back home this morning from holiday, I read All About Soap and Kate Ritchie said she doesn't think she will ever return I hope Kate makes another return in future. Kate did say she never thought she would return to Home and Away. She said that the show has changed so much from the last 5 years (after she left the Bay). Sally is one of the most compassionate people ever in Summer Bay IMO.

The Bay is not a great place to live at the moment because there's too much crime and violence in Summer Bay lol I like Nate so far and I have a feeling that Nate and Hannah may get together.

It's been a while since Morag last appeared. I know Morag came back in November-January for a few episodes but I really miss Morag. Morag's appearances are getting less and less now

I feel so conflicted about this! On one hand I desperately want him to stay but at the same time I would so love to see him achieve great success outside of the show! Yeah I know what you mean . Brax is hugely popular so it would be sad if he leaves the show as Brax has so many fans. But Steve will go on to do great things in USA. Maybe Steve won't leave the show till the end of 2014? Who knows, but I'm sure the producers will want Steve to stay on the show for a long time. Steve is a very humble man in real life so he obviously loves working in Home and Away

Steve is definitely going to be successful when he leaves Home and Away in the future. I have been very impressed with his acting. I hope he leaves Home and Away in 2014 so he can quickly get the well deserved success in USA.

Yeah I agree with you but I think Debra did a fantastic job when she took over from Vanessa.

Lynne's Irene had massive storylines during her 20 year tenure. But in recent years, she has been neglected a lot. Hopefully, Irene will get a big storyline soon and she'll be interesting.

Cheryl was fantastic in today's Home and Away episode. I love her personality and I really hope Cheryl will get a storyline coming up. I know she's a recurring guest character though.

I think Irene will stop working in the Diner as she seems so fed up of working there. But if Irene does leave the Diner, I wonder who will take over the Diner. Or maybe Irene and Leah won't sell it but hire someone to manage it? But I do hope Irene will get more screentime if she gets a new job.

Wow I can't believe Fiona Spence was 39 when she joined Home and Away... I thought she was in her 50s

She was shown in the flashback from Alf's childhood in 2010, also mentioned by Celia In 1988. Yup it was literally just that one mention from Celia and she was never heard of again. It was due to the continued discussion of her on BTTB (plus a few mentions from myself) that Bevan Lee ensured her existance would be included in the 2010 flashback. Alf Stewart is an iconic and one of the most popular characters ever.. After 25 years of being in the show, I'm a bit surprised Alf hasn't had a storyline of his own for a long time.

I find it totally unrealistic that none of Irene's children or foster children have paid Irene a visit as she has done so much for them.. When I was watching that YouTube video, it made me realise just how busy Irene's house was... I miss Irene's close relationship with Hayley etc. Think it's time for Irene to have foster or grandchildren in her house now
