  1. I think that the poster was meaning he appears in the Bobby/Sally shot.
  2. Yeah, I think that was meant to be one of the early in-jokes. When Fisher and Celia get added to the credits, there's two different types. One where Fisher catches Celia trying to read his papers, the other where Celia looks over the other shoulder and Fisher looks over the shoulder she usually appears at and there's no one there. Mind you, I've only ever seen the more common one.
  3. Yeah, compared to a few of the recent blocks, this was a pretty lowkey set of episodes, edging more towards comedy with caravans blowing up and Celia's drunken antics.
  4. Just complete this weeks scene counts - was about to say no one managed more than 3, but then I remembered to scroll along and Sandra appeared in 4 episodes. Very strange week though - with everyone appearing to be used sparsely.
  5. Ah, so now we meet the missing scenes. My apologies to Seven again for accusing them of cutting them out. A strange episode, in the past week or so we seem to have move to a slightly different bay - a Bay where the McPhee's and the Barlow's are centre stage. Certainly in some cases it feels that foster family dynamic has been lost. Alf and Ailsa, Alf especially seems to have disappeared. Definitely enjoy the freeze frame more than the after credits clip.
  6. It would appear I've got a dud copy then.
  7. It unfortunately appears as if these episodes are being censored as there appears to have been some pretty dodgy editing at the end of today episode and indeed the final scene is supposed to have been at the Barlow House where Sam demands to know what Sandra and Kerry were gossiping about and in the post credits segment he tells them he'll bash it out of them. Both the BTTB Summaries and the Archive of the old Canberra pages back this up. Also it appears that for the second day the wrong credits have been used - Alison again credited with no sign of Barnett or the Barlows. What's going on Seven?
  8. I noticed that Alison was erroneously credited in place of Sandra today. Tomorrow is the last time we get that after-credit thing.
  9. SevenTwo in Australia.
  10. What a lovely cheery episode for Xmas day!!!!
  11. The one thing that I feel is positive to a comparative graveyard slot is that it less vulnerable to things - it's not perhaps as likely to get shunted out for something else.
  12. One thing I've noticed, at least throughout these early episodes how some of the people in the town just assume the kids names are Fletcher. Fisher has had a few scenes where he's called Carly and Lynn Fletcher's, though in 34 he calls her Morris and in today's episode Alf calls her Carly Fletcher at his visit to Celia's house, if that was Celia's house and I assume it is because there's never been any mention that I've read about Celia being part time gardener, though quite what she does before she buys a business later on I don't know. Does she just appear in scenes to gossip for 150 episodes? These are now, for 15 episodes at least completely virgin episodes to me. Also, interesting in light of what happens, is that Lynn is 2 scenes behind Pippa is the character that appears most in the opening 36 episodes.
  13. Were white swimsuits ever a good idea? I liked how everyone seemed oblivious, unless I've missed a throwaway line, to the fact that Lynn was missing from the table to allow everyone to fit around it. A very Carly orientated episode, though in some ways the episode itself didn't seem to move very far in any direction. Still trying to work out whether Matt is a very infrequently used main cast member or a slightly more used guest at the moment.
  14. From the same episode they talk throughout the seating plan and Lynn tells Sandra to initially sit to her right, yet when they sit down Sandra is initially on her left. Frances Swan should be sacked. OK, forget about the episode counts. Steven, Roo and Ailsa appear in 5. Pippa, Alf and Lance appeared in 4 episode. As of Episode 33, which is next block, minus the pilot (so just the regular episodes), Lynn has appeared in more scenes than anyone. I'm guessing her appearances must drop off markedly at some point in the future.
  15. I think when I think of the Early Years and just my general watching of the show I tend to think of the early yars, I am drawn towards the two main family groups from the first three years or so, after that the whole structure becomes slightly more fragmented, but I tend to think of some of those major arcs - though I don't really want to give them away. The episodes with Lynn at the centre, also Floss and Neville, almost feel like filler now in retrospect, because you know where they go to and also I know where the story goes to.
  16. Continuity Goof: Look at where the Fletcher kids are sitting at the start of Pippa singing and then where they are at the end of the song, and then during the applause!
  17. It was hard to know whether the lack of applause for Ailsa's routine was due to the fact that she was a murderer or the fact the routine appeared to be pants. At least they remembered she was doing tap dancing as shown in the Pilot. I actually thought the name Lance came up with on the spot was pretty good. I could be barking up the wrong tree here, but could be the last episode filmed in 1987 and possibly a point in where they were going to reevaluate whether the series continued because plausibly the series could have finished there, with the way the storylines were built up.
  18. You might remember in a previous thread I mentioned "Gemma Ramsay" appears. Well that was her first appearance in Episode 29 giving us some sort of bizarre love triangle, where no one's feelings are reciprocated at the moment and Lil must be up there for the most pointless credited guest star. And if you were unsure just why they were crediting her, the credits remind you she was the shopper. Lance has been a lot better value on his own and actually seems more intelligent than 10 episodes ago.
  19. Floss and Neville were axed to bring the average of the show down. Indeed, taking the ages of the actors, 1989 is the year that has the oldest average age of the cast, beginning as it does with ONLY a primary school child and a year 11 (Steven). Though I believe Carly attempts to repeat, everyone else has left school. So, with the exception of Morag, everyone else brought in is quite young.
  20. So Ailsa is a murderer! Noticably Fisher is missing from this episode - as I think has been mentioned elsewhere, Fisher and Alf don't seem to have that bond that is present later on though I feel as time both characters begin to merge to the same ground - in fact perhaps Fisher ultimately becomes more lenient than Alf over time. Alf does seem to be portrayed as the good guy in these first few episodes whereas by the mid 90's he seems to have become "The Flames" as SBW called him. The show however seems to have moved to a completely different place pretty quickly however after Lynn and the Nico storyline. It is these stories and these characters that ultimately come to mind first.
  21. Since features move at UK pace, it will be sometime at the end of January if my maths are correct. There will at least be something though, I'm pretty sure of that.
  22. Episode Count: Roo and Bobby have 5, Fisher, Ailsa and Frank in 4. Interesting episode this one featuring Jeff Samuels (terrible actor), and it begins in a small way to open up a few of the extras around the community that play a sizable part of the first year.
  23. If I am right this episode includes 3 people on the opening credits which is likely a record. Also the first episode that doesn't have any of the Fletcher family that moved to Summer Bay, though it does include Bobby, so perhaps not yet the first episode that doesn't include the Fletcher's. We had our usual Monday montage with groovy music - this weeks being dung handling.
  24. Didn't you watch the reruns of Five Life two years ago around the Olympic Torch episode?
  25. Episode Count - Lynn gets 5 for the second week in a row and has now appeared in 13 straight episodes, whilst Carly, Bobby, Frank, Ailsa and Fisher all appeared in 4 episodes. Strangely Pippa only appears in two because of this city jaunt she and Tom are on. I think that was the best episode so far anyway, and the best week so far. It finally feels like things are rolling along.
