It's so hard to believe that a plot device to complicate matters for Ric and Cassie has turned into such a magnificent character. Aden is everything I could want in a character and so much more and the storylines he has been handed this year have been nothing short of brilliance. What started as a sexual abuse revelation storyline (though I should stress I never saw it as simplistically as that) has grown over the course of a few months into a full blown psychological analysis of what I would boldly state as one of the finest characters Home and Away has ever produced - we know and have been embroiled in Aden's family history, we know what motivates him and exactly what makes him tick. And yet the beauty of this is that he always remains quite unpredictable - despite the emotional work the character has undergone he has lost none of his edge. Whilst Aden and his journey can be accredited to the writers, the way in which it has been pulled off on screen is most certainly down to Todd Lasance, an outstanding young actor who I feel is destined for big things. Does everyone else feel so postively about Aden or has he not been as well received by others as by me?

Words cannot express how much I loved Rachel when she first arrived. She was fresh, she was was fun, she was amibitious and to top it all off she was played by a very talented actress in the form of Amy Matthews. I'm not really sure where it all went wrong. Whilst I would classify myself as "empassioned hater" I do very much find myself despairing at where the writers have taken her - some of the things she says and done now and very much not inkeeping with who the character was when she first arrived - I do believe that Rachel is still in there though, I just hope the writers find a way to bring her to the surface again, and soon! For starters, there's so much more scope for exploring her family history - has anyone ever linked this to her desire for a child? Because if not I think they should as it seems pretty obvious to me..... Any thoughts?

It's been a few months now and I still don't know what to make of Nicole.....there was a stage in the year where I felt all she did was have the same arguement with Roman for about five weeks on end, that was very much in sync with her "princess" character which I wasn't overly keen on (the repition without development more than anything). However she most certainly has had her redeeming moments, but I tend to find they're so quickly followed by a princessy type episode which reverts my opinion back to one of disdain. I like her vulnerable side but I feel this hasn't been explored enough by the writers yet. The definite positive of her character though is that she's very much an individual - her relationship with Geoff for example, I was very pleased to see her say "this is who I am, which means this isn't going to work" - even though I may not like her attitudes all the time, I'm at least pleased to see that she has attitudes and sticks by them. What do other people think of Nicole?

Belle has been a real slow burner of a character for me....although her entrance provided us with some interesting new angles on Amanda, and her presence caused a dynamic amongst the teen group that was quite bold (shock horror - they didn't all get on for a few months!) she generally tended to fall in and out of relationships and faded into the background a bit during 2007. 2008 though has been an utter revelation - I feel like I've finally gotten to know the character and, though her storylines have focussed on a relationship primarily, it's nice to see some more adult problems being thrown her way, and also to see that she doesn't necesarily need to be paired up with another character to function. I very much look forward to seeing where the writers take her next! What are everyone else's thoughts?

To compliment the recent feature on Drew's departure, two episodes have been uploaded to the main site. These are 4592 in which he fights with Belle and makes his initial departure, and 4600, his final goodbye. The picture's come out in a bit of a funny shape but the sounds fine and it's perfectly watchable, so I do hope you all enjoy!

I'm wondering if anyone is up for making a DVD cover, for the 'thin' style cases? I'm currently recording all the 2008 onto DVD and putting them in cases, but the cases are looking a little empty and unlabbelled so I have no way of what disc is what. I'm basically looking for a generic '2008' design with a space in which I can write the episode numbers that are contained within, preferably with all the major characters this year taking a place on it somewhere, as well as the logo and '2008' in Reporter font on it somewhere. Besides that, I'm easily pleased! I realise I probably haven't been too clear and that it's a big ask but if anyone is interested in helping me ut then let me know and I might be able to elaborate on what I'm after.

I'm lurking.....trying to label my Home and Away videos (dating back as far as 2004....).....and I really can't be bothered. I'm mainly just watching them. I've had such a nothing day today....getting a bit cabin-fever-esque but as its 11pm, now's not the right time to be going out!

I'm sure TV is destined to emotionally batter me this week.....Sally on Thursday, the shocking Torchwood finale last night and that split second look at her during Doctor Who....

Is it me, or is Ian and everyone else's reaction extremely underwhelming, considering his 14 year old daughter is missing? I remember when Demi went missing a couple of years back, we had uncontrollable hysterics.....this time around half the square don't seem to care and Ian's only showed any strong emotion very briefly. All seems a bit odd if you ask me!

Did Sally and Colleen have much to do with each other during Colleen's 80's stint? If so, can anyone recall what their 'friendship' was like?

I researched this myself a little while back.....having been told the actress in question was Isabel Lucas by an un-named staff member! .....I can't remember the precise character name, but I'm fairly sure it was a random guestie who only had a one or two episode appearance....anbd I couldn't say for sure when it happened either. So I'm a bit useless really!

We do have a thread going in the "Comments and Suggestions" board if you'd like to suggest ways we could improve the board so it becomes more populated again! How is everyone this evening? I'm feeling a little Autumnal, meaning I'm all snuggled up in my duvet with a DVD on.....the nights are starting to draw in here and its getting chillier....just the way I like it!

There were 8 of us in masks so I wasn't the only one looking a fool!

It was an exercise to highlight how much of our body's reactions we take for granted.....for example when I am able to see I know that campus perfectly and don't pay much attention to things really....but with the mask on I was aware of every little change in my surroundings, such as what I was walking on, whats things sounded like etc.etc.......really interesting actually, but I bet I looked a total gimp!

At 11am today, I was walking around my busy uni campus wearing a white mask covering my whole face, with no eye holes, holding onto a pink umbrella, which was held at the other end by someone leading me around. The joys of being a drama student.

Oooh have a great time! Guh uni is the bane of my life...reading is taking over my life.....Help!

I had a girl on ecah arm at mine! My student loan came through today, I've been out spending .....perhaps a little too much, but you're only young once!

I remember the build up to my formal.....or 'ball' as we call them over here. Now I'm at uni we have about three a year so the effect has worn off slightly! Sorry to hear about the op Rosey, hope its nothing too serious!
