Nanook of the North, a 1920s ethnographic documentary about an Inuit (eskimo) hunter living near Lake Hudson. It was well produced, but you wouldn't believe how much of it was staged, even if it was authentic.

I also watched the Geoffrey Wright version of Macbeth the other day, in the Melbourne ganglands. I'm not sure that it worked as well as the version of Hamlet set in New York with Ethan Hawke and Kyle MacLachlan, but it was better than Romeo + Juliet.
